This is your punishment Galad? You underestimate the determination of a Saiyan warrior. I shall use this curse against you. I shall use the knowledge of these people and this time to grow more powerful than ever before. No amount of sorcery can keep me from seeing that the last son of Ultarian falls.

Brocco’s tail, having uncoiled from his waist, waves in the breeze. Standing on a hill with a distant city before him, Brocco breathes deeply and prepares himself for his journey.
On the road nearby, the Saiyan then notices the approach of a lone vehicle. Generating a weak Ki ball, Brocco hurls this blast just before the moving transport. Following an explosion of dirt, the vehicle swirls in avoidance and then skids to a stop. The driver, a preacher dressed in his religious attire, climbs out and examines the smoldering crater. From down the hill the preacher barely has time to react as Brocco charges toward him. Grabbing the man by his shoulders, Brocco then pins him against his own vehicle.

Planet? What planet is this?

Good afternoon to you son.

Planet fool!?

Earth.

Earth? And the year, what year?

2007. If you wouldn’t mind could you please let me go? Perhaps maybe I could give you a lift back into the city. I have friends who can help you. Friends who can give you food, shelter, and clothing.

Brocco infuriated forces his hands against the preacher’s shoulders forcefully. The frame of the car starts to bend from the pressure. The preacher, despite the pain, does not scream.

Tell me of the warriors of this world.

I know little of war, my friend. I am a man of peace.

The frustrated Saiyan then groans as he once again squeezes the preacher with his fists. This time the preacher can not help but release a gasp of helplessness.

I will tell you whatever you need to know. But only if you let me go.

You will tell me.

Let - me - go!

Lifting his hands away from the preacher the man then falls to the road in a heap. Rubbing his bruised shoulders, the man then lays back seated with his head resting against the bumper of his car.

Now tell me.

There are warriors here from all over the universe. Ones who may even be powerful enough to destroy entire planets for all I know. I have heard of some who can even eclipse suns with their power.

But how? Where did they learn such power?

I know of one man that teaches them. He is a hermit who lives away on an island. His name is Roshi.

You will take me to him.

But he is far away. I have a congregation to attend to. It would be at least a four days journey.

I said you will take me to him.

Reaching down Brocco then grabs the preacher by his collar and lifts him up into the air. Walking over to driver’s side door, Brocco yanks on the handle. After throwing the preacher into his seat, the menacing Saiyan then leaps across the hood of the car and into the passenger’s seat. The preacher numb from the pain, trembling puts his keys in the ignition and starts the vehicle. Before moving, the preacher decides to sit and reflect as his foot hovers over the gas pedal.

What is wrong?

I am praying. I am praying for our safety on this journey. I am praying for God’s strength.

The strength of a God?

Yes, at my disposal merely by moving my lips and opening my heart.

You must teach me this.

On this journey, there will be much for each of us to learn.

With that the preacher’s foot then lowers onto the pedal and the car kicks into action. The two then begin on their voyage.

After surviving the ordeal and returning weeks later the preacher wrote the following note chronicling his time with the gray-skinned Saiyan.

He truly was a warrior. Battle seemed to be all he ever thought of, and yet in everything we did their seemed to be some calculated purpose. At night we would hide on the side of the road or in a nearby shelter. We always stayed hidden and away from the moon.
While we rested he was always busy. He built himself a karate gui and weighted bracelets out of clothe that he collected along the way. It was testament to the kindly nature that existed beneath his cold exterior.
He always made sure we had food. At night he would go out and hunt. Always he would bring back the freshest meat and prepare the meal himself. The food was always cooked thoroughly and seasoned to perfection.
Whenever I was sleeping he then would go and train. From wherever I slept I could always see him practicing his arts with himself. I watch him grow and improve. I always watched him grow frustrated. He seemed so angry, as if all of his skills were being learned in vain. For him, I feared the validity of this.
Finally we reached our destination, a harbor with Roshi’s island out in the distance. It was here that the true nature of this mysterious warrior was shown. As he placed his boat into the sea I swore I heard him say something under his breath. Two words that made my heart erupt, “thank you”.
I watched the warrior climb into the boat then and disappear from view. Following, I returned to my car and wept. For in all my years of ministry, I had never touched such a cold heart as that of this wandering soldier.
