It had been several weeks, and Android 17 remained in seclusion from the outside world. He had not seen or detected any life in many days, but that was to be expected considering his current location. He did not want to be disturbed, so he decided to spend his time in the Mowasi mountains where the temperature was constantly thirty degrees below zero or colder. The temperature alone would deter visits from any unwanted guest. A powerful gust of wind slammed against his back as he continued his meditation..... Thoughts and dreams of a nonexistent life flooded his mind, and he understood that his kind were not meant to live normal lives. He had no childhood to remember....no teenage years to look back on. However, this did not bother him because he also realized what kind of mayhem he would cause in the future. The evil inside of him continued to grow every day that passed, and it did not bother him that others viewed him as a monster. He could not seem to concentrate, so he slowly stood up. "I am a monster," he said to himself as a gust a wind nearly lifted him off his feet. He floated into the air as an uncontrollable amount of rage came over him. He was done training and decided there was another way to test his skills. He remembered he had flown past a village on his way into the Mowasi mountains, and he decided to take a break from his training and visit the small community. He soared threw the mountains as his level of excitement grew. The small town of Tashiddee came into view, and the angry android smiled knowing he was about to enjoy doing what he does best. Screams from his future victims dilluted his thoughts, and he couldn't be any happier. He glanced at the population sign which was illegible due to the extreme conditions of weather in the area. Screams from his future victims dilluted his thoughts, and he couldn't be any happier. "I'll show them what a monster is really capable of!" he exclaimed. |

Android 17 landed calmly on the ground in the center of the village and was overwhelmed by the scent of smoke. He could see people walking up and down the dirt streets but was disappointed to discover that there were only a handful of people inhabiting the village. An elderly man’s voice interrupted Android 17’s scan of the area. “Looks like we have a visitor,” he said with a frail voice. “Don’t see many new faces around here. What’s your name young man?” Annoyed, Android 17 ignored the man’s question and continued to scan his surroundings. While the old man spoke, he discovered a building much larger than all others. The building was four stories tall and surrounded by gates in every direction. It appeared that there was even a guard patrolling the house’s perimeter. There were no signs marking the house so it was impossible to determine exactly who lived there. The building was basically a mansion compared to all of the shacks nearby. As he surveyed the large house, Android 17’s anger slowly turned into curiosity. “Who lives there?” he asked the old man. “Who lives where?” the man responded with a confused look on his face. Android 17 pointed in the direction of the house he had been starring at. “There you fool,” he shouted. The old man nearly fell down as he took a step back. Frightened, the man quickly gave Android 17 the information he requested. “Colonel Williamson lives there,” the old man muttered with a shaky voice. “He’s the one that runs this town. An ex-military officer who was booted out of the army for using his troops to search for some object that can grants its wearer untold amounts of power. They say he is crazy, but those of us here who don’t do what he says are killed. He’s a monster.” Android 17 glared at the old man who took another step back. “He’s not the monster,” he stated. “I am!” Android 17 lifted his hand into the air and placed it on the old man’s chest. Before the old man had time to react, he was decimated by a ki blast that killed him instantly. The man’s lifeless body sailed through the air and landed several yards away from where Android 17 stood. Feeling quite satisfied, he headed in the direction of Colonel Williamson’s house. |

The remainder of people throughout the village flocked to their deceased comrade. Android 17 glanced backwards towards the cluster of people surrounding the old man. Several people screamed when they realized what the stranger had done to the innocent old man. This simply delighted Android 17 as he approached the prepared guard who had seen what he had done to the old man. His gun was drawn and aimed directly at the intruder. “Don’t come any closer,” the guard screamed. “I’m warning you. Stay where you are!” Android 17 continued to advance towards bewildered guard who kept the gun aimed at his chest. “Not a step closer…this is your last warning,” the guard yelled. A bead of sweat rolled off of the guard’s forehead as Android 17 continued to shorten the gap between the two. Realizing he had no other options, the guard fired his weapon. The bullet ricocheted off of Android 17’s tough exoskeleton. Android 17 picked up speed and began running at the confused guard who fired off three more rounds. Once again, the bullets bounced off their intended target. The guard realized what he had done and dropped his weapon hoping that his opponent would show mercy. Android 17 saw the guard’s gun hit the ground but was merciless. “Mercy is for the weak,” he thought to himself. Android 17 finally reached the guard and planted a fist into the man’s gut without hesitation. The guard doubled over in pain and fell to his knees gasping for air. Android 17 looked down upon his victim who attempted to speak but was unable. He watched the guard struggle to breathe; however, he did not give him the opportunity to catch his breath. He heard bones break as he kneed the guard in his face knocking him unconscious. The guard toppled over and his head slammed against the ground. “People need to learn it’s smart to stay out of my way,” he bellowed. “Now then….let’s see what’s inside.” |

Android 17 opened the door and was met with warmth. Unlike all of the villagers, Colonel Williamson could apparently afford to keep his house warm. However, the warmth of the home was nothing compared what was inside. Android 17 took slow steps as he admired all of the relics and weapons mounted on the walls throughout the narrow hallway. Swords, armor, statues, and documents were everywhere. He had never seen such a collection. A voice coming from upstairs interrupted his examination of the unique items that surrounded him. He could not make out what the voice was saying, but he knew it was the voice of a man. Out of the corner of his eyes, Android 17 saw a set of stairs leading to the upper floors of the building, so he continued along his way towards the mysterious voice. He ignored floors two and three as they appeared to be full of the same items he had seen on the first floor. “This man must be crazy to collect all these things,” he thought to himself. “It must have taken years to amass such a collection, and it’s not even guarded.” He reached the top floor of the house where the collection of things stopped. The walls were completely baron, and all that really stood out on the floor was a large door at the end of the hall where the man’s voice had been coming from. Without a second thought, he walked up to the door and turned the knob. The door swung open, and a man wearing a military uniform faced the opposite direction. His uniform was incredibly dirty and he smelt as if he hadn’t showered in months. “Have they found it?” he asked without turning around. “No they have not,” Android 17 responded jokingly. Upon hearing the unfamiliar voice, the colonel turned around to see the face of a man he’d never seen before. “Where’s Vincent?” Williamson questioned with a confused look on his face. “I assume he’s the one outside lying in a pool of his own blood,” he retorted defiantly. “He didn’t put up much of a fight.” Colonel Williamson walked to his window and looked outside. The body of his bodyguard decorated the ground. Frightened and angry, the colonel reached into his pocket and pulled out a small remote. He pressed a button on the remote and a trap door beneath the intruder gave way. Android 17 plummeted four stories and crashed into the ground. Before he could react, the trap door above him shut and there was only darkness…… |

Android 17 stood up and tried to figure out exactly where he was at. The darkness made it nearly impossible to make out anything in the hidden room. He began to walk forward with his hands out hoping to find a wall nearby, and felt something crunch under his weight. He bent down and randomly began patting the ground in order to find out exactly what it was he had stepped on. After a few seconds his hand grazed something smooth and round. He picked up the mysterious object with his left and still could not see what it was. “You will pay for what you’ve done,” a voice boomed from above. “No one messes with me and lives to tell the tale. You’ll never escape this room and without food and water you will be dead in a week.” Colonel Williamson laughed as he flipped the switch to the intercom, and his captive was once again left in silence. Android 17 raised his right hand and opened his palm. Android 17 could see again as the ball of ki in his hand lit the area. The blue ball continued to grow in size, and the room was no longer dark. He could finally see exactly what was in his hand as well as all over the floor. The ground was covered with human bones. “There has to be at least a hundred bodies down here,” he said out loud. He dropped the bone he had in his left hand which was a rib from the torso he had stepped on earlier. Android 17 didn’t plan on staying trapped any longer, and the ball of ki he previously was using as a light grew even larger. Images of snapping Colonel Williamson’s neck was only thing on his mind. He prepared to fire the blast towards the ceiling, but the trap door he had fallen through earlier opened before he could do so. His body lifted off the ground towards the light, and he emerged from dark room and landed on the ground. Williamson’s lifeless body was sprawled across the floor. There was a young man around the age of twenty standing above his body. “Welcome,” he stated. |

Android 17 said nothing, and he was more angry than curious. He was furious that his plans for revenge had been spoiled by some kid, and he was not the one to kill the colonel. Blood oozed out from underneath the colonel’s body from a wound that had been inflicted by a sharp object. Android 17 looked at the boy to see if he was equipped with such a weapon but could see none. He circled the boy in order to figure out whether or not he had a weapon hidden somewhere on his body, but once again he found nothing. Android 17 looked down at Williamson and used his foot to roll the body over. There alongside the colonel laid a gold sword covered in blood. It was the same sword he had seen when he first entered the house earlier today. “I don’t normally need weapons to kill my opponents, but I thought it would be ironic,” the boy said. “Killed with your own sword….now that’s irony. Now I know you probably wanted to kill him yourself, but I just couldn’t help myself.” “Quiet,” Android 17 shouted. “Now just who the hell are you?” The boy began to pace back and forth very calmly; Android 17’s yelling did nothing to faze him. The android growingly became more and more impatient as more time went by without answers. The boy looked as if he was about to speak but held his tongue and continued to pace. “Before I give you any answers I must request that you follow me,” he stated. “I know you can’t trust me, but I know more about you than you think. I know you are not human Android 17, and I also know there aren’t many people who could survive training in the Mowasi Mountains. Just come with me and all your questions will be answered.” Android 17 attempted to demand answers, but the boy fired a huge blast of ki that destroyed the roof and disappeared. Android 17 couldn’t believe his eyes but had no time to think about the events that just took place. Against his better judgment, he flew after the boy to get the answers he wanted. However, there had been one thing bothering him since the boy fired the blast that decimated the roof. “If he was watching me at the Mowasi Mountains, how is it possible I did not pick him up on my scouter,” he questioned himself. “How long has he been watching me?” |

Android 17 and the boy had been flying for nearly eight days and neither said a word to each other. Android 17 couldn’t believe how fast the boy was, and he had trouble keeping up. They occasionally took breaks every other day, but they only lasted a couple of hours and words were never exchanged. They had been sizing each other up since the journey began, and it took even longer considering they could not read each others power-levels. Android 17 worried the boy was not a boy at all because he had not eaten anything this entire trip. “Could he possibly be an android,” he thought. The weather and scenery were much different than what he had been training in the weeks before. A feeling of dejavu had been bothering him since his arrival into the new set of mountains, and Android 17 wondered why everything looked so familiar. He realized it could be possible he had been there before, but he couldn’t be sure. Around eight months ago he had been at North Capital with intentions to hunt down some of the best fighters in the city. After killing a local fighter named Demetri, he was hit with an extremely powerful blast that nearly destroyed his power-core. A chip that had been implanted in his brain malfunctioned, and he had no recollection of anything that happened before that day. All that Android 17 could remember was waking up completely repaired in an empty warehouse feeling stronger than ever. “We are almost there,” the boy shouted up ahead. Android 17 saw him descend onto a small indention that was in the side of one of the mountains. He landed shortly after the boy and looked at him waiting for an explanation. “This is it,” he said. Android 17 grabbed the boy by his neck and lifted him into the air. “I’m done with the games,” he shouted angrily. “Tell what I want to know now!” The boy grabbed Android 17’s arm and ripped it off of his neck. His feet hit the ground, and he rubbed his neck. Android 17 knew the boy was stronger than him, but 17 was fearless for reasons he could not explain. The boy quit rubbing his neck and smiled. “I think it’s about time you remember where you came from,” the boy stated as his smile widened. “This is the place where you were born.” |

Speechless, Android 17 starred at the boy with a blank stare that wouldn’t seem to go way. He now knew why everything seemed so familiar, but he still had no idea what exactly had happened here. “You can call me Android 7,” the boy exclaimed. “I was one of Dr. Gero’s first projects. Dr. Gero was the man that constructed you here along with Androids 16 and 18. The three of ya’ll were one of Dr. Gero’s greatest achievements, but he was a greedy man that took everything in life for granted. Unlike you, he discarded me once he realized my power-core was not capable of storing enough energy to be used in battle against a saiyan named Goku; however, that information is irrelevant. Android 17 if you could please follow me.” Android 7 proceeded into a small cave which appeared to lead nowhere and pushed a button that was camouflaged as a part of the mountain. The cave shook and a boulder began moving that revealed a hidden path. Android 17 followed the path into what looked like a laboratory that had been completely destroyed. Fragments of science equipment decorated the floor, and it was almost impossible to tell that this place had once been a science lab where artificial humans were created. “You will most likely never remember what happened here, but I thought if you saw the place your memory chip might reprogram itself to before the accident at North Capital,” Android 7 suggested. “How do you know what happened at North Capital,” Android 17 asked as he became even more confused. “I’m the one who rescued you,” he replied. “You nearly died that day from a Kamehameha blast fired by Saiyaman. I had been trailing you for quite sometime and saved you before he could finish the job. There was an abandoned warehouse outside of a small town where I repaired you, but I couldn’t fix your memory chip. The technology is far to advanced, and Dr. Gero was not kind enough to instill me with the proper knowledge to fix it. I was hoping that if you saw this place you might remember everything but apparently I was mistaken. Having said this, I believe this is where we depart. I will no longer follow you, and I would advise you not to follow me.” “I have more questions,” Android 17 said quickly. “Just give it time,” he replied. Before Android 17 got a chance to stop Android 7, he was gone. He continued to rummage through the ruble for hours but nothing seemed to bring back any memories. He was more lost than ever and had no answers for the hundreds of questions he had. After a day of searching, he quickly gave up the quest to bring back his memory, but by then he realized he had a new mission. Android 17 knew that the only person that could answer his questions was Android 7. Ignoring Android 7’s warning, he took off into the sky knowing that one day he would eventually find him. “You’re safe for now, brother,” he thought to himself. “Now where could you be hiding?” |
