It is said that he who posesses the ability to control time will reign supreme for all eternity. This fairy tale has been told to you since you were a small child, but you never actually believed it. Upon your last mission, high up in the mountains of West City, you discover an elderly nomad living from a small wagon. While searching for information, you stumble across a tapestry that portrays this old tale. Taking interest to it, you purchase it from him and leave.

While walking away, you have the strange words of this nomad keep repeating in your mind. "Be careful what you seek traveler, for it may come true before you are ready." The quote sounded a little irrie at first, but you soon forget it. You get home, and hang the new tapestry on your mantle, then go to sleep.

You awake the next day from your slumber just as you always do. This time you realize that things keep happening all around you that you believe have already occured in the past. It soon becomes a real life nightmare as you realize that you are living the same day over again. Perhaps the tapestry holds some sort of answers.

The hour was late in the day, and darkness had crept across the land. Shadows rolled over the mountains and into the valley as the night sun continued to fade. It was hidden within these shadows that a small labratory lay hidden beneath it's cover.

Ventureing through ice and rock, and beyond a thick steel exterior, slept a tiny green embryo. Surrounded by a glass casing, and submerged within a fluorescent green amniotic fluid, the creature Cell lay dormant as it's body continued to develope. Only accompanied by the voice of the fallen doctor, it would invision that in which was to come, and dream of things soon to pass.

It was within one of these dreams however that Cell would be given the image of a dark haired young boy. Perhaps only in his teenage years, this android would somehow be the key to his design. Visualizing himself in his perfected state, the monster Cell would think of nothing but this long awaited day to arrive. "Perfection" he thought to himself as he sway to and fro in within the incubation chamber.

Over and over the voice of the deranged Doctor Gero would repeat the tales of future events. Merged with a Gem of Telepathy fragment, Cell would unknowingly begin to transmit his visions across the land. Calling out to other pieces of this shattered jewel, the thoughts of this horrible future would begin to invade the minds of those who happened to possess a stray shard.

Whether it be by chance or an act of fate, the first of which to be infected by this terrifying vision was the infamous Android 17!

Prior to Cell’s transmission of visions, Android 17 walked into the living quarters of the laboratory he had completed building days before. Now Android 17 not only had a place to recharge, he also had his own personal sanctuary. After uncovering a strange item, he lifted up the tapestry and placed it on the wall near his pod and marveled at its unique features. An old man sold him the painting almost a week earlier, and he discarded the tapestry for several days. He had bought the tapestry simply because the old man said it contained “amazing powers.” Immediately he had to know more about its capabilities, but the old man had nothing more to say. Android 17 could still hear the man’s last words echo in his head.

“Be careful what you seek traveler, for it may come true before you are ready,” the weary man mumbled as Android 17 walked away.

Although Android 17 was not the type to be worried about danger, the tapestry was unlike anything he had ever seen before. It was as if it called out to him, but he was far to busy with other endeavors to attempt to unlock the power of the mysterious item.

How dangerous can you be,” Android 17 questioned as he looked up towards the tapestry.

He stepped into his pod and a stainless steel door enclosed Android 17’s body. Outside, the tapestry began glowing a faint green color. An eerie feeling overcame 17 as he prepared himself for restoration; however, he ignored the feeling and closed his eyes. Once he was asleep, the machines surrounding the pod turned on and electricity surged throughout the metal container. The machines had fully replenished Android 17’s health as dawn approached. The metal door hissed as it slid open and 17 stepped out of the pod. As soon as he looked up, he noticed the tapestry was no longer hanging on the wall. Instead, it was wrapped up and sitting in the exact same place it had been yesterday.

“What the hell,” Android 17 thought to himself.
