Even if it was a ''single-player version of the MMO'', that doesn't make it a bad game in its own right. The battlesystem is genius, if you know your way around it. People whine about the simplicity of using Gambits, but people, those are OPTIONAL. There are millions of ways to set up your party and control the leader yourself, or to set it up so well that you don't need to act at all. Personally I felt the License Board was less intruiging than the Sphere Grid, which I feel is the best system in FF to date, but it did offer certain possibilities of forming classes out of your characters. Other than the characters themselves, the Espers were flatout amazing to fight and use. I heard Alex complain about the Ultma Esper in his review, but I completely disagree in that respect. It's again knowing how to use them (and by that I mean how to trigger their Esper Tech as soon as possible). Along with Espers, the Quickening chains were a great evolution for the Overdrives in FF10.

I wont start a rant about FF12, but I will say that it is the best PS2 RPG.

I know how to use Espers. I acquired all of the espers at well below the recommended level for gaining them. I used ones that had elemental attacks against things that had weaknesses to that element.

It's also curious when you say you can "trigger" the "esper tech" because it is a final attack which automatically is cast and can only be cast immediately before the esper's time is up. Even following a guide on esper battle tactics (like this one: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/459841/46306), it was quickly apparent that it's not that I didn't know how to use espers, it's just that they were completely useless.

The sphere grid was really stupid. I had the entire sphere grid for all of my characters finished before level 60, which means that I had absolutely no use for LP for about half the game.

Quickenings were similarly useless. There is no point in wasting all your MP simply to do a little extra damage to the tune of 20,000 or something. I remember I kept getting mist charges and had around 50 quickenings and it hit for like 22,000. When your 999 MP could be used much more effectively by buffing and curing your party, why bother wasting it? Especially since if you use a katana and genji gauntlet, there's a good chance you'll have a 2-4 strike combo of 9,999 anyway by just normally attacking.

Not using gambits doesn't make the game any harder or any more fun. It makes it tedious because you get in so many battles. The game was a horrible, horrible, horrible RPG that WAS broken (as evidenced by it's re-release in Japan fixing fatal flaws).

The article you linked to is also nearly a year old. And I also showed you that it was in gameinformer and several other magazines and was confirmed by Square-Enix (squaresoft doesn't exist). You are just in denial.

Until you can point to where SQUARE-ENIX confirms it outside of EGM, it remains a rumor.

And no matter how old that article is, they're still too busy working on FF13. It'd be nice, but so would've Sonic in Melee. ;)

Different teams work on different games. FF12 was not made by the same people who made most of the other FFs. This might explain why it sucks, but nonetheless, it also would throw the theory of them being "too busy" out the window.

Actually he is correct because he is right. If I was Chris I would be trying to hide the fact I have such crappy taste in gaming. :P

So far I've only heard THAT is sucks, not WHY it sucks. If I'd have to grade FF12 I'd give it a 97%, because it is the absolute ass-kicking shit.

*SPOILER ALERT* Do not read this post if you don't want some of Chrono Trigger spoiled for you!!!

Chrono does die, but is reincarnated in the Chrono Trigger (which is basically an egg) and is revived on top of the mountain outside the exit of the sewers in 2300 A.D., so Chrono is not dead.

It's never revealed whether or not Chrono dies. According to the Chrono Compendium (http://www.chronocompendium.com/Articles.html), it's widely believed that Crono and Marle escaped when Guardia fell.

You're thinking epilogue, b/c they killed Lavos and the PS version reveals that they marry and stay as the king and queen of Guardia. Also, playing both Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger will fill some of the plot holes in both games (not sure which plot holes tho). I just read the article on Crono and Marle, and there is more reasons for them living in hiding than them dying.

And WTF is that Turles?! Are you high on caffeine?!
