Going Fishing Difficulty: Easy Description: A old and wise Namekian has grown ill and cannot fish for his family. His family will starve without him. He will pay you for the fish if you fish for one week for him. Reward: +450 zeni, +2 DP, +10 all stats, +1 Rp Credits, +1 Alignment Available: Always ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walking through the streets, the little green Namekian had a bit of a limp in his walk from his encounter with the human. His light brown and yellow suit was torn all over and purple blood ran, in a single line, down his childish face. One single thought ran through his head, and that was “I am going to get that human back. Soon I will kick his ass so bad that he won’t know what hit him.” The young Namekian walked around one of the many dome shaped buildings. On the other side was his home. A Namekian woman was outside tending to a fire. The young child saw that she was cooking fish for the third night in a row and gave a sigh. “Oh my… What happened Cargo?” the Namekian woman asked when she glanced up to see who was coming towards he. “I sparred a human named Gohan. Nothing to worry about mom, just a few cuts and bruises,” Cargo replied to his mother as he walked past her and into the house. “Nothing to worry about? You fought a human Cargo, he could have killed you. Didn’t I tell you never trust those human scums? Don’t you remember what some of them did to our village before?” Cargo’s mother shouted as Cargo walked by. She had a flash back to the day when a couple of humans had landed in the middle of their village and wrecked havoc. “What are you shouting about dear?” a Namekian man yelled back from behind the house. He walked around the house to talk to the mother. He was covered in dirt from the yard work he had been doing from behind the house. “Do you know what your son did today?” she asked in an angry voice. “No, what did he do?” he replied as he put the shovel, he had in his hands, on the ground. “He fought a human,” she replied, almost in tears from the flash back she had. “Well… did he win?” Cargo’s father asked as he stretched his arms in the air. “Did you not here me? Our son fought a Human, and all you can say is ‘Did he win’,” she shouted back angrily. Inside the house, Cargo was in the bathroom cleaning up his cuts. The family was expecting some company that night. After most of his cuts were cleaned, he walked into his room and changed his clothes. After a good ten minutes of hearing voices arguing outside, Cargo heard the door open and slam shut. He walked out to see what was going on. When he reached the living room, he saw his father sitting on the couch and saw his mother setting the fish on the table. “Cargo, did you get cleaned up? Our company should be here very soon,” Cargo’s father asked as he flipped through his Namekian Weekly magazine. “Yea, I’m ready. What were you and mom arguing about?” Cargo asked in a quiet voice so only his father could hear him. “That doesn’t matter. Are you alright?” he replied as he set the magazine down to look at his son. “That human didn’t mess you up too bad right?” “I am fine. He was really nice. We just quit fighting because we were both exhausted. He only hit me with a punch and two energy dans. No biggy, I think if we kept on fighting, I would have had him,” Cargo replied to his father as he reenacted some of the fight. “Well that’s great news…” His father began before he was interrupted by a knock at the door. “That’s them. Can you greet them honey?” Cargo’s mother asked him as she set plates on the table. Cargo walked over to the door and opened it. He expected to see three Namekians, but only noticed two. He studied them. One was a tall woman and the other was her daughter who was about the same size as Cargo. “Ahem…” Cargo cleared his throat, “Welcome, won’t you please come in?” |

The two Namekian women walked into the dining room where Cargo’s mother was placing the dinner on the table. Cargo took interest in the young girl who had walked in. He followed close behind her, and checked her out. She was wearing a pink dress that looked to have been hand made by her mother or grandmother. The young girl stood up straight while she walked, and had a beautiful face. “Oh welcome Mrs. Vandragile. How are you? Ah… Where is your husband?” Cargo’s mother said when she looked up and noticed Mrs. Vandragile standing there. “I’m doing alright, could be better. My husband couldn’t come tonight, I am very sorry. You see, he has gotten very sick over the last couple of days,” Mrs. Vandragile said slowly, in a sad voice. She seemed like she was going to cry, but Cargo figured it was just the glare off her eyes from the light. “Oh, I am so sorry to hear that,” Cargo’s father got up, out of the chair, and walked into the dining room to join the rest. “Please, sit down,” Cargo’s Mother said as she set the last plate of food on the table. Cargo pulled out the chair for the young girl, and sat in the seat next to her. He couldn’t help but smile every time she looked at him. “Now what is your name?” Cargo’s mother asked the young girl. “I’m Jenny,” she replied as she looked at Cargo, studying him from head to toe. “What a pretty name. How old are you?” Cargo’s Mother asked as they all dug in to the food setting in the center of the table. “I am 15 years old,” Jenny stated as she snapped out of her gaze at Cargo and began getting some food on her plate. “Oh how nice. Cargo is also 15,” Cargo’s Mother replied to the answer. “Cargo, why don’t you take Jenny for a walk after dinner while we talk to Mrs. Vandragile?” “That sounds like a great idea,” Cargo replied quickly and excitedly. About a half hour went by before anyone was done eating. While the three adults were talking about some gossip, Cargo motioned to Jenny, and they walked outside. Once they were outside, Cargo walked side by side with Jenny as they walked down a path. “So, how sick is your father?” Cargo asked to break the silence. “Well, don’t tell my mom I told you, but he is worse than she is letting on,” Jenny said as she walked with her head down and kicking some rocks as she walked with Cargo. The sun was just barely above the horizon. “I’m so sorry. Is there anything I can do to help?” Cargo asked as he really did feel sorry for her. He didn’t know what it was about her, but he took an interest in her and wanted to help. “Well, since my father is sick, he isn’t able to get us any food at all. You see, he loves to fish. He usually fishes every day, and we would have fish for dinner, but now that he is sick, he cannot fish. We don’t have much food to eat, and I don’t know how much longer it will take before he is well again. So I guess what I am trying to ask is…,” Jenny was saying before Cargo cut her off. “If I will fish for your family?” Cargo asked. They both stopped walking and looked at each other. They stared straight into each other’s eyes. “Yeah… If you would fish for us,” Jenny said lost for words. They had just met and were already finishing each other’s sentences. “Yeah, no problem, no problem at all,” Cargo said with a smile. Jenny smiled back. “I can start tomorrow!” “Oh my, that would be a big help. Thank you so much,” Jenny said as she jumped towards Cargo and threw her arms around him. She gave him a huge hug. Cargo had a feeling he never felt before. He felt warm all over and had a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach. Cargo hugged her back. |
