Tasuda smiled as he watched the children play. They were playing tag, a game he had known as a kid, though the version he played generally ended up with blood. But he was glad to see the children of the Garit bloodline playing.
The day was bright. The suns were out and not a cloud was in the sky. It was summer time on Namek. The heat was high, though with the spray from the surf it made for the most beautiful time on the planet.
He looked over and saw the elder of the village Garit smiling. He was almost as old as Guru, just shy by six years. During the great storm that almost wiped out the Nameks, Garit was on the other side of the planet. There he reproduced his bloodline.
The old Namek coughed a bit. Tasuda smiled at the old Namek but that smile faded when the elder collapsed to the ground. Running over everyone helped check on the elder. Tasuda bent over and picked him up, carrying him into his house. Laying him on the bed he moved while the healer checked on him. “He’s very sick. I don’t expect him to live through the month.”
Everyone closed their eyes then they all opened them when the elder spoke. “Tasuda, I need to speak with you.”
Tasuda nodded and walked over while everyone headed outside. “What is it Elder?”
The Elder laid a hand on Tasuda’s arm. “I want you to do something for me. You are one of the few people that can do this.” Tasuda nodded that he understands. “There is a lake on the south pole. It is a very large lake and can be mistaken for the ocean if not careful. It will be marked by a very large tree growing out of the middle of it. There is a species of fish that when eaten will cure all kinds of illnesses and will leave you very healthy.”

Tasuda couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Then he remembered the Terisa plants. Then it made sense. “Elder, were there once Terisa plants down there?”
The elder nodded. “Yes there were. Why is it you ask?”
He shook his head. “I just now know how they can have that amazing property. But what do you want me to do?”
The Elder smiled. “As a child I always loved to eat them. We Namekians do not need to eat, but that fish provides nutrients our bodies need. I am afraid this illness that I have is contagious. You must get enough fish for everyone or all my children will die. And since you’ve helped us more than once, I know you are strong enough to take on this task. Please say yes.”
Tasuda nodded. He felt he owed a lot more after the village was destroyed by his evil self. “I will do so elder. And what about you?”
The elder smiled. “My child, no need to worry about me. I will be fine. I’m not done yet.” Then he was silent as he fell asleep.
Tasuda placed his hand on the Namekian’s forehead. It was warm still. Hearing the elder breath brought relief to him. He now regretted destroying Kelith’s ship. He had all the research in there for extracting the plants. But he remembered what happened the last time. They had almost vanished. No the only choice was to find the lake and get the fish.
Heading outside he faced the Nameks. There were watching him. “He’s asleep. He asked me to do something for him. “He wanted to tell them but knew it would be best not to, at least not until he returned with the fish. Gathering up his sword and supplies he flew off. It would take him a few hours to get there. Even at max speed it was a long distance away as they were in the northern hemisphere.

Looking across he saw the second sun rise. Each one had its own color when it rose. The first let off a pink color, the second was a green tint, and the third one was a blue tint. Seeing a large shadow ahead, he sped up. He knew he was close; he had been flying for several hours now.
The image in against the sun grew, but it seemed to be taking a long time. Looking at the sun, he noticed it was now about two hours above the horizon. In four more hours the third sun would rise. Sweat began to pour as he raced to the spot. But the tree still seemed so far off. “What in the world. Is it really that big?” Looking down he smiled as he saw fish following him, jumping out of the water. “Show offs. But yes, you are very talented.” Looking ahead he saw giant mountains rising behind the tree. The tree itself seemed to continue its dominance. “This tree must really be big. This is crazy.”
After a couple more hours he could finally see the land. It was the biggest land mass on Namek. Big enough to see mountains stretch as far as the eye could see. The tree dominated the scenery though. Its massive trunk was the size as two of the typical islands farther north. And as the elder had described, it was directly in the middle of a large lake. And had he not been told about the tree, he probably would’ve missed it.
Flying around the massive trunk he flew up through the branches to get a look at the tree. “Must have come from the Terina plants. This tree is very old, probably centuries.”
Tasuda stopped as he heard a voice. “Actually, it’s 15,000 years old. Well 15,213 tomorrow.” Tasuda looked around but saw no one. “Well you can try to find me but until I know who you are, you won’t.”

Calling out Tasuda introduced himself. “I am Tasuda, protector of Namek.”
The voice sounded happy as it replied. “Ah yes, the great protector Tasuda. I’ve heard so much of yours and your friend’s sacrifices during the latest invasion. Very sad, the deaths of the Namekians. At least you managed to stop them before they wiped out the entire Namekian race.”
Raising a brow Tasuda asked, “You’re not Namekian?”
A small figure appeared. He looked human and very old. He floated in mid air with a giant grin on his face. All he wore was a loin cloth. “Do I look like you green skinned lizards?”
“Who are you calling a lizard?” Tasuda began to get annoyed.
“Ah yes you’re the short tempered yet very appreciative of life. I meant no offense. Or did I? But that’s neither here nor there. Now tell this old man why you’ve come to disturb me? You want to increase your power a thousand fold?” The old man crossed his arms looking Tasuda over.
Tasuda was taken back. Increase his power a thousand fold? He’d be the most powerful in the universe. “You can do that?”
The short old man laughed. “Of course. Come here, and let me see.” Looking all over Tasuda, pinching his cheeks and places Tasuda did not feel comfortable, he pulled back finally. “Ah yes, train for another fifty years and we’ll see.”
Tasuda’s patience was nearing an end, but he tried to hold it in check. “So you can’t. Fine. I’m here for the fish.”
Throwing his hands up, he laughed. “Ah, then why didn’t you say so?” Tasuda just shook his head. “So let’s see here. What do you wanna catch? We got Veri, Begil, Vefal, Narimal, Chari, and permagen.”
Tasuda looked confused. “The elder didn’t give me a name. He just said that it’s a fish with wonderful healing properties.”

“Ah! You are after the ever elusive Drafonamicalugathamiganasus.”
Tasuda shook his head in disbelief at what was just said. “The what?”
With a mischievous grin he said, “We call it the health fish. Or the Drafon.”
Closing his eyes, Tasuda rested his head in his hand while rubbing the bridge of his nose. “And you didn’t just say that why?” Then he shook his head as he realized his mistake. “You know, never mind. So this Drafon fish. Is it still here?”
The old man nodded. “Of course. But you gotta catch it by hand.”
“Why?”
“Because you have to find it first. And that water is very deep and very large.”
Taking off his cloths he said, “Well then there is no better time then now to start.”
Hitting Tasuda on the head with a stick he said, “ah but there is young one. You young people are so impatient. Tonight when it gets dark, that’s when you will be able to find him.”
Tasuda’s eyes widened in disbelief. “When what? It doesn’t get dark! We’ve got three suns!”
Scratching his chin he said, “ah yes you do make a point. But it was dark last night. So it should be dark tonight. So you wait.”
Letting out a sigh he said, “People are counting on me to return as soon as possible.”
“So then go back. They need fish right? So you must wait. Nothing else you can do.”
Surrendering to the old man he asked, “So then, how much longer till night time?”
“Ohhhhhhh, six hours. You wait, we eat.” The old man pulled a bag out of nowhere.
“Actually we don’t eat.”
“But you eat fish do you not?”
Not even Tasuda could answer that so he gave in. “Fine.” He followed the old man to the grass below and they began their six hour wait.

To block out the old man he went into a meditative state keeping an internal alarm clock going. Then it went off. He opened his eyes and saw dark. He shut them again thinking maybe his eye sight had to adjust, but when he opened them he saw the old man on the grass and the area was in blackness. Looking up he saw small bits of light. “Stars? Wait no, that the sun through the tree. There is a point in which only one sun is up. So the tree blocks it, imitating night time.” Standing up he took his cloths off and dove in. The water was surprisingly warm. Searching the waters till the sun was visible again resolved nothing. He came back up to shore where the old man was waiting.
“Empty handed?”
Sitting down he sighed. “Yes, couldn’t find it at all. The water is crystal clear but found nothing.”
The old man nodded, “Even too elusive for the great Tasuda.”
For a week Tasuda searched and found nothing, till the final night when he was about to give up. A giant fish was spotted, it was the only one he could find. Racing after it, he managed to grab its tail and fly out of the water. The fish was monstrous. It looked like it could feed the entire planet for a month.
The old man clapped with joy. “Congratulations! I am impressed. Garith and I have been the only one to catch it. Well as you must be off, take care and tell Garith I said hi.”
After several hours of flying he made it back. Half the village was on their beds ill. But after the fish was cooled, they were all healed. Tasuda talked with Garith about the old man and found out the old man and Garith were good friends.
