Seeing the last Namek fall to the ground was a sight to behold for any warrior. All around the hybrid Saiyan crumbled slabs of rock lay scattered over the one beautiful village. Joining the rock on the floor was the bodies of at least thirty Nameks, all of them bleeding from their freshly deceased carcass. “A pity.” Goten remarked, looking over the devastation left in his wake. “You’d have thought that they would be that little bit stronger.” He kicked away a small piece of rubble that lay beside his boot. Still, at least he had some new information. If there was one good thing that the Nameks could be used for it was their legends. This latest one to reach Gotens ears was of particular interest. Finding a decent fight now that he was the strongest being in the universe was proving to be a difficult task. He flashed back to his fairly brief encounter with the warrior Tasuda. The fighter had spirit but nothing to back it up, and now he lay in two pieces somewhere miles away. “At least he had been able to fight back.” Said Goten coldly. He turned away from the stricken village and faced out to the water. Nightmare creatures, the locals had described them as, hideous beasts of myth and legend that had powers beyond comprehension. The villagers had seemed frightened even to speak of them. This had only fuelled Goten’s curiosity which had lead him to seek directions for the last known location of the monsters. And now that he knew there would be nothing stopping him from ending another creatures life. He laughed quietly to himself. He could get used to all of this killing that way going on. With an icy grin set in his features Goten took to the air and began searching for the place described to him. |

Flying over the green and blue landscape of the planet Namek provided a much needed change of scenery for the young Saiyan hybrid. He had grown used to the harsh desert like features of the planets visited previously and was enjoying the change. After about twenty minutes of flying he arrived at the place where the villagers had reported. To no surprise whatsoever he found himself standing on a fairly baron field of nothing but grass and rock. The place deserted, as he had expected. "Hm, cowardly commoners, there’s probably no such thing as these creatures. It was a waste of time for me to come here!" he said to himself. He stood, arms folded for a minute or so, contemplating his next move. His fight had provided a nice distraction but he needed to get back to training. Uncrossing his arms he took to his natural fighting stance. Slowly he began to power up, focusing his energies. His aura burst into life and immediately began to lick away at the ground beneath him. Within seconds he found himself standing in the middle of a small crater as the rock beneath him had been blow away. "Haaa!" he charged at the nearest rock pulling his fist back. He sliced through the rock as if it were made of butter. The two pieces fell uselessly to the ground. Immediately he flew into the air and commenced firing thousands of energy blasts into the same place. As the first few hit peaces of the already shredded rock exploded, throwing tiny splinters everywhere. As the blasts continued to rain down, a cloud of think dust formed in a mushroom shape. As far as the eye could see the ground was shaking, more violently then any earth quake the planet had ever seen. Goten stopped firing and took a quick breather. As the dust settled, Goten could see the extent of the damage he had caused. |

Were once there was a large rock, now a huge hole gapped to far down to see. Goten allowed a smirk to cross his face. In his eyes there was nothing better than seeing true power, and what better power to witness then your own? He composed himself again and was about to power up once more when out of nowhere came two blasts. He managed to duck just in time. The two blasts whistled over his head and crashed into a cluster of rocks, sending them into oblivion. Goten instantly turned to the direction from which it had come from, looking to confront the cuprites. To Gotens wonder and amazement floating opposite him were three figures. They were the strangest things Goten had ever seen. They had the legs of a normal human but protruding from their rear were tails. Not only tails but long reptile like tails with a sharp point at the end. Their torso was that of a reptile and their arms were a dark blue. Their heads were a distorted shape of Namekian features mixed with what looked like a bird. Their expression bore a look of constant horror and malice. They did not move or speak, and something about them caused the hairs on the back of Goten's neck stand on end. "And just who do you think you are?" demanded Goten. "You should know better than to blast the strongest being in the universe while he is training!" They didn't reply. The three stood motionless, breathing in unison. Their horribly constructed features swayed in the light breeze. "Well!?" Goten shouted. This time they did reply, but not with words. The first one flew silently towards Goten. Its movement was so eerie that Goten took a step back, cold sweat forming on his forehead. Within seconds it was right before Goten looming over him. He could smell the decay and death that surrounded this creature. Without warning the creature lashed out with its tail. |

Goten, composing himself, managed to dodge the tail but was caught off guard as the silent hand connected with his head. It felt as if his whole skull had cracked, and he slowly began to fall towards the hole in the ground. All that he could see as he was falling was the ghoulish figure watching him fall, it's face still fixed in that horrible scream. As he continued to fall his eyes began to close and his mind went blank. The last thing he remembered crossing his mind was the single word How? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Shock, confusion, anger. All he knew was that he felt these feelings. The why escaped him. He looked towards the sky. A shadow figure loomed overhead, cutting off the warmth from the blazing sun. He tried to identify features of the figure, but once again the image wad blurred. The figure turned a soared off into the evening sunset. He turned back to the fallen woman. She hadn't moved. For an inexplicable reason he felt the need to go to her. He started to run, but as he did so… Goten opened his eyes. His vision was still blurred from the blow to his head. As he began to sit he noticed how cold it was. He looked around, to find himself surrounded by dirt. His eyes began to focus and he looked towards the sky. A tunnel, many miles long stretched towards a small patch of light. It was then it struck him. I’m inside the hole I created. He got to his feet stumbling slightly as he did so. The punch had caused less damage than he had originally thought, but his head still throbbed. “What were those creatures?” he said out loud to himself. “And why are they more powerful than me?!” He clenched his fists, angry with himself. How could I let myself be caught off guard like that? |

All these questions and still no answers. On top of that he had just witnessed some strange vision. No doubt it was caused by his telepathic ability but even so, he should be in control of that. “Why is this happening to me!” he yelled. His voice bounced back off the walls, shouting back at him with the same despair and anger. Goten fell to his knees and slammed his fists into the ground. The impact caused a shroud of dust to rise. Goten spluttered as the dust circled his head. This just infuriated him even more causing him to rise to his feet and yell as loudly as his lungs permitted. Just then the light illuminating the hole disappeared and Goten was surrounded in darkens. He stopped shouting and looked up but could only see a shadow outlined by what little light was getting through. Their back! He thought I better get the first strike this time. Goten powered up, filling the cavern with his magnificent blue light and launched himself upwards towards the ominous figure. The figure didn’t react quickly enough and Goten felt his fist connected with the figures head. With the speed and power of his momentum, he sent the creature flying sky high. Goten gave chase but the creature had faster recovery powers then Goten anticipated. The creature let out a howl of anguish and thrashed towards the onrushing Goten. Anticipating the movement Goten moved behind the creature, raised two fists and brought them crashing down on the creatures’ skull. The monster was sent flying back down to earth, landing into the pit in a frenzy of howls and hisses. Not wasting any time Goten held out both his hands so that his palms were facing the crater. A yellow glow started to engulf his palms and two bright balls of energy formed. In a second he was ready. |

“Let’s see how you like this!” he bellowed towards the black precipice. He thrust his hands forward sending wave after wave of ki blast down into the ever expanding hole he had created. As the bullets began crashing into the bottom of the crater the earth began to shake. Around the rims of the hole the ground started to give way as the continuous rain of blasts slammed into their target. Just like before a huge cloud of dust erupted from the centre of the pit, blasting miles into the air. Goten ceased firing, breathing heavily. As the dust settled the devastation caused became apparent. The once smooth surface of sand and rock was now littered with rock debris. Gigantic cracks had appeared that ran the entire length of the horizon. The crater itself had tripled in size which caused it, Goten thought, to look more like an abyss than a simple hole. The creature was no where to be seen. “Ha, not so strong after all!” exclaimed Goten. This thought comforted him and almost immediately he became his usual arrogant self. “Of course their not strong, nothing could have withstood an attack like that!” He let out a long satisfied laugh. “Ha, and to think that I was worried! What a joke!” Goten looked around, expecting the other two to pop out at any minute. Nothing. “They must have been scared away!” He turned away from the crater and his heart skipped a beat. Standing two feet away from him were the other two creatures. “B-but how?” Goten managed to stumble. The creatures stood still, fixing him with their hideous stare. Goten’s blood ran cold and all of the earlier confidence drained from his body. How could they sneak up on me like that, I-it’s just not possible! As he thought this one of the creatures smashed his tail into the ground, point first. Goten watched, confused by this sudden move. A second later the other one did the same and they both stood there, tails in ground staring at him. |

“Y-your t-time hasss c-come!” the first one hissed in such a horrid voice that Goten took a step back. “N-now, DIE!” Goten stepped back again with a look of perpetual hatred and fear etched across his face. Directly opposite him the creatures stood, tails in ground, hissing at him. A moment later the ground began to shake, again. The creatures distorted features now bore a look of pleasure, if that was possible. From underneath him the ground gave way and Goten began to fall. It took him a split second to realise his predicament and without dithering around he took flight high above the creatures. “Ha, was that your grand attack?! Making the ground collapse? Ha, my brother could do better!” Goten scoffed. The creatures, unfazed by Goten’s words continued their hissing. Later Goten would learn never to underestimate an opponents attack, because a second later a wall of strange liquid came flying up from the ground towards Goten. Goten fired one rather large blast at it but to no affect. The liquid absorbed the blast and continued on it’s path in the direction of Goten. As the wall of goo made contact with him, Goten felt all of his energy drain from his body. The liquid surrounded him and began to constrict, squeezing him so tight he began to choke. From bellow he could just about hear the creatures, no longer hissing but instead they sounded like they were choking to. He managed to look down and what he saw froze his blood. The creatures were rearing up towards the sky, flailing around like they were in terrible pain. Slowly, were there had been nothing before, thick black hair started to grow from their scalps. Goten watched in horror as the hair grew until it was full length, covering the whole scalp of the creatures. |

Midway between the two parties the beams fought an even battle, neither giving up any ground. How can this be happening? My plasma special is far stronger than both of theirs! Goten’s aura flared up and Goten felt an extra boost of energy flow through his body into his hands. An extra wave of energy shot down the Plasma special, causing it to gradually push the creatures attacks back. The creatures were equal to that. Spontaneously they shot a boost into their beams and once again they evened out. This is preposterous, were are they getting all of that energy from?! “Goten, h’you must know by now that it is s-stupid to resis-st!” hissed one of the creatures. As it said those words Goten felt his concentration slipping. Why can’t I concentrate? What’s going on? Gradually the creatures attacks began to force the Gotens back, putting even more pressure on the Saiyan. Within a few moments they were near to colliding with Goten. So…this is it He thought in dismay. There is nothing I can do Just as he was about to give up and secom to the beams, That’s not what I would expect from you! What? Who said that? Goten, don’t give in, you can win I know you can! You still have to… The voice faded and was replaced by an image. It was the one from his visions. The body lay face down in the dirt. All he felt was anger and rage, and yet he didn’t know why. In his image he ran towards the figure. The body lay lifeless. He couldn’t believe it, how could this be? Who would do such a thing? The rage consumed and very slowly… He snapped back to reality. His eyes took a second to readjust. His demeanour was much calmer now, like he didn’t even need to think about things. Yellow flairs began to surround him. “This…. This has happened before.” He whispered as the flairs continued to swirl. “Almost as if it was a mind of its own.” The yellow swirls streamed into his hands and shot into the beam. “Android 10 didn’t stand a chance, and neither will you.” he said in a gentle voice, which was far to quiet for the creatures to hear. The addition of the yellow sparks into his attack had given Goten the advantage. The creatures attacks were retreating. “And now, you will die.” The final flairs shot into the beam pushing it faster towards the now cowering creatures. In a desperate attempt to counter the creatures shot extra blots of energy but to no avail. The beam continued on its path straight for them. It collided with an immeasurable force. The creatures howled and screamed as the energy began to turn them inside out. Their limbs began to get eaten away along with their tails. In a few moments only the torso and head was left. Slowly they began to implode with the pressure. The final thing Goten saw of them was their twisted features screaming and distorting the face even further and then, it disappeared. A deadly hush descended upon the now ruined plain. Goten lingered in the air for a few seconds, still in a trance like state. “I guess… back to the ship…” He said sounding as though he were half asleep. As the Cosmic Emperor began to make his way back he failed to recall the last few moments of the battle. Shaking his head he turned away from the abyss and headed for familiar safety. |
