Having finished his training, it was time for Torbie to prepare for his departure. He knew well in back of his mind it was going to be several days, weeks, maybe even months before his actual departure due to the fact that his meager job only earned him so little at a time. Stepping from the cave into a somewhat cooler outside, Torbie bent down halfway on his knees. Using most of his strength he took off from his spot, not in flight however, for he still yet to learn the skill of disturbing the laws of gravity. Quickly hopping from each floating stone to the next, to an occasional wall of a nearby high level rock in a zigzagging pattern he began traveling towards his goal. At the moment this, to him, was the fastest form of travel surpassing even the vehicles which were made to withstand the heat but ran extremely slow due to the use of a fuel that required a high level of temperature making although a long lasting fuel, a slow moving vehicle. His route back to civilization although would be considered long, was short to him because he was too busy paying attention to his thoughts as he recalled each action needing to be taken. Finally arriving at the gates, he landed and tapped at the tempered metal doors that stood well 15 feet into the air. He as well as anyone else living upon this planet knew well of the dangers that lurked within the fiery keeps of the lands beyond the civilized borders. Many had called those areas of the planet Hell’s Coffin, mainly for the fact that the area which was feared, when viewed upon a map, resembled a coffin. There was a deeper area within the Hell’s Coffin, named Demon’s Tomb. The location was deep in the center of the Hell’s Coffin, and many stories had existed about the congregation of the monsters within the place. |

Tales were told of beings that lived inside the Hell’s Coffin, and of those that worse existed in Demon’s Tomb. Although these creatures rarely wandered from their positions, there were cases of them traveling outside their bounds and attacking civilians in either cold bloodshed or a feast. No one could ever tell, for the body was scorched almost to the bone once the monsters were finished with them. He shook his head and released the images and thoughts from his minds as the small eye latch opened and an eye observed him for a moment. “It’s alright, it’s only Torbie…open the gate…”said a deep voice from beyond the thick metal doors. Torbie knew the stranger who had spoke, a gatekeeper, by the name of Krale. Torbie although didn’t desire to keep friends at the moment for he was departing soon couldn’t stop others from attempting to befriend him. Krale was one of the few. Another was a guard like him, Leara, who was elsewhere thankfully at the moment. He had even less desire to be with her due to her constant inquiries of his life, which he would attempt to dismiss. The gates parted enough for him to stride through then close as soon as he passed into the large opening as the city’s market. It was easy to understand the location of such thing, for the first thing any wanderer would see is the shops and the inns. If one would continue wandering further and deeper into the city he would find himself upon the houses and more practical places for those who actually are the citizens of this place. Also within the center of the city, there were other locations. Locations, that no stranger would know of unless he or she, depending on what gender they would be, had talked to someone who was a citizen living within the walls of the city. |

There was a woman living within the city…deep in its center. A medicine woman who had knowledge of many potions and spells. Knowing he would need the best items in order to survive against the Saiyans, Torbie headed in the direction of the medicine woman’s tent. Passing stalls left and right of him as well as the inn’s which were located right before the grand area of the market closed into a narrow alley, that would branch into many directions leading wherever a person would need to go. His trail was simple however, his path strait forward towards the center. The tent stuck out like a sore thumb about the area of metal and earth while its own design was that of cloth held up by a skeleton structure of crystal which would sparkle when a light of the moon or sun would pass over it, the event of such occurrence was rare though thanks to the gasses that covered the skies only to reflect the crimson abyss of the nature of the volcanic planet. Taking a deep breath he lifted the flap and entered the tent. His steps found a soft carpet of unusual straightness upon a ground that had yet to see a flat area. “Hmmmm…” The old woman had commented as she faced her back to him in search of some item. “It’s although common for you to come here, I sense there is a different reason for your appearance this time…eh little one…” She paused and looked over her shoulder at him. Her eyes glinting as though she already knew all the reply he was going to give her. He didn’t speak only nodded in her direction, in which she turned around after his action and continued to look for an ingredient he assumed as she always had for now she moved to another cabinet of more vials of items and creatures he still yet to identify. |

“Hmmm…Crystal Ash…Crystal Ash…” He had heard her chant as she continued to explore for a few more minutes then finally pause at discovering a flask of emptiness. Setting the flask upon her table along with several other tools she glanced his way and gave a small smile. “Little one…I need some Crystal Ash…and since I am too much of an old lady to travel outside these walls could you possibly do me the favor of searching the Northern Continent for the Ash Crystal? I’ll make it worth your while…” He nodded in return and exited her tent. He knew where she was sending him, and he knew well the dangers, however the dangers were extent only to stories. He wasn’t like the gossip which was floating around the place, he was one of the strongest beings living on the planet, why should he fear these creatures, and if anything they should fear him. His thoughts raced within his mind as he approached the gate once more to only nod to Krale so he would open the gate and allow him out. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Krale’s mouth open to comment something about his arrival and sudden departure but was shut as soon as Krale noticed Torbie’s eyes upon him. The moment the gate had opened Torbie raced off once more towards the northern continent easily jumping from rock to rock, his speed increasing as the jump ranges began to grow. His path had lead him in a large C formation as he needed to find a way across the massive gaps of lava. Finally arriving at the borders of the Hell’s Coffin he paused and observed the scene. Standing upon a tall ledge of a somewhat nice sized hill a slight shiver crawled up his skin, he knew it was due to the evil aura that surrounded the place however; his senses relayed nothing of great danger within the area at the moment. In fact, it seemed to be disserted. Maybe the creatures were on another one of their haunts outside the borders, if so, this would definitely be the best time to find and bring back the Crystal Ash. |

His speed seemed unreal to him. ~Is this fear that’s giving me such an energy boost? ~ He had inquired himself this several times and each time seemed to be yes. The fear increased his adrenaline to a high level making every movement, his awareness of every action and reaction, every sense in his body heightened to a degree he wasn’t used to. ~I can’t believe I’m letting the tales get to my head…I’m the strongest me…no one else…Why should I be afraid!~ With his hands clenched and his teeth slightly bared at the thought of his weakness, speed deeper into the Northern Territory. His journey had finally lead him to a mountain, a volcano perhaps, however it wasn’t like the others. This one was similar to that of the skeleton structure of the medicine woman’s tent. Crystal like substance covered just about all of the surface walls of the mountain and ran deep into its core entrance with had two great pillars beside it. ~This is definitely it…the Demon’s Tomb…~ He thought to himself as he slowly and cautiously stepped inside the prismatic cave. His steps rebounding off the walls caused him to flinch a few times however no troubles were seen. Arriving within the depth of the mountain, Torbie was surprised to see what the Tomb really was. “Is…this…” He couldn’t believe his eyes; the entire inside of the mountain was set up as a dome. Many inscriptions and runes were written upon the floor and walls. He didn’t need to finish his sentence, he knew what it was, and he didn’t wish it to be that. The floor he noticed was littered with power, bones, and ashes. He knew the reason why the matter was called Crystal Ash: ashes of a living being entwined with crystal through intense heat. He wondered if it had been some kind of ritual, and why would anyone need to create so much of it. He shook his head not wanting to prolong his dwelling thoughts on a subject that was upsetting him greatly. Turning from the sight he began exiting. |

His anger was high however there was little he could do. Collecting some ashes into a pouch and closing his eyes for a moment in silence for the deceased he erupted from the cave with blurry eyes, hoping he wouldn’t need to return to such a desecrated place again. He had only passed the first few leagues from the crystal cave before halting as a column of magma erupted only a foot away from him causing him to flip backwards to avoid any of it spilling onto him. The creature which had come from the fiery depth was itself wreathed in flames. Even its gaze seemed to burn deep into Torbie’s soul as it met his eyes. Physically the creature was untouchable which is why many had lost against such an elemental. However, his speed could be limited. Looking beyond the points of the flame elemental Torbie quickly thought of the route he could take, knowing the longer it took him the greater the chances of running into more of creatures such as that standing before him. With slight hesitation he took a few steps backwards towards the edge of the rock which he stood upon and waited for the other to prepare its strike, that as he expected, came quite sudden. Spinning around the creature he dashed forward and began his speed hopping again without looking back. Unsure if the creature was following only made him want to push his limits until he could safely reach the gate. His journey back seemed to be endless, he wasn’t sure why but he suspected that it had to do with the desire to be at the gates at a greater level than he wished to be at the Hell’s Coffin. His wish finally came as he reached the gate, at which point he finally had stopped and dared to glance behind him, only to find an empty scene; a scene he was only too glad to pause and view. ----------- The End ----------- |

I'm sorry, Torbie. But this is void. You didn't get approval to do this quest. If nobody responds to your requests, just PM one of the mods. Also, make sure all your posts are 300 words and longer. Edit: I'm approving this quest now for him...Fix your one post that only has 298 words. This is your warning about jumping the gun.

Finished editing, although I didn't see any that were 298. All were borderline to near 300 but none were bellow, I even checked each of them out. I went ahead and added a few words to each of the borderlined posts however. I wish to thankyou though, for being understanding.
