Prince of Saiyans

After a monotonously long day of routine strength training, the Prince of Saiyans found his will to travel back to the city waning. The weather outside that evening was comfortably warm, and signs showed that the temperature throughout the night would stay just as consistent. It would be perfect weather for sleeping out under the stars and that is exactly what Vegeta planned to do. It was still early in the night when he decided to call it a day. The Saiyan found a comfortable piece of land on the down slope of a small, grassy hill and deemed it worthy enough to support his rest. He laid down and nestled into the grass, crossing his arms behind his head to provide a makeshift pillow as he stared up into the clear, star filled sky. Before long, his eyes grew tired and his lids too heavy to keep open, a prominent sign that it was time for him to sleep. Throughout the course of the night, his deep sleep was disturbed by means he was too tired to comprehend. His eyes flinched, although still closed, at every touch of cold that graced his bare face. Vegeta finally opened his eyes to capture the sight of snowflakes falling by the masses and to further notice that a light blanket already covered the ground. "What the hell is this?" the Saiyan said abruptly as he sat up, his hands creating firm imprints in the snow surrounding his body. A sharp gust of frigid wind picked up and assaulted him from the back, blowing a mound of loose snow free to buffet against his bare arms and neck. Vegeta grumbled in anger as he shot to his feet, using his freezing hands to brush his body and clothing free of snow. He surveyed the area once again as another hard, icy wind beat him senseless. Reconfirming the fact that he was still in the same area he went to sleep in, Vegeta again began to speak out loud. "This region has never had snow before. The climate isn't accommodating of this type of weather. Maybe old man Roshi knows what's going on." |

On his journey to Master Roshi's, Vegeta braved and fought all different kinds of ridiculously inappropriate weather. Lightning now crackled in the heavy, dark clouds over the ocean and the sounds of roaring thunder could be heard all around him. It was like the Prince was flying straight through a tropical storm. The horrendous wind began to strengthen, as if such a thing were possible given the current situation. To the mighty Saiyan's surprise, a funnel of torrential rain and wind began to descend from the clouds ahead. Vegeta did his best to maintain air control as the turbulent air around him tossed him about recklessly, watching in marvel as another whirlwind came into creation and quickly plummeted for the high ocean waves below. The water was quickly picked up and now a pair of typhoons raged, soon to be joined by a third that manifested behind him. He wanted to scream out in frustration at the sudden predicament that happened upon him but that wouldn't help to make the matter at hand any better. The Saiyan proceeded with caution in between the two typhoons that spun before him, making sure to move at a fast enough pace where the third disaster wouldn't catch him from behind. One of the whirlwinds started to approach him as he made his way but the faster he attempted to fly, the more the wind fought against him. Just ahead he could see the outline of Master Roshi's island. With the dangerous water cyclone spinning closer and closer, Vegeta decided to go all out with his flying, even if it meant getting tossed about. Just as he was about to pass the encroaching typhoon, it shifted directions just enough for the very outer edges of its formation to clip at the Prince's legs. The disaster fought to pull Vegeta in but he managed to thrust himself out of its grasp, although it sent him spiraling uncontrollably into the air and ultimately into the water. Under the ocean, he had no sense of direction and toiled aimlessly beneath the waves, constantly fighting the tow that desired to drag him back into the monstrous cyclone. |

Out of sheer luck and lack of other directional options, Vegeta managed to resurface. He gasped heavily at the salty ocean air as if he had never breathed a single breath before. Only a handful of yards out, he could see the beach of Roshi's Island and set that as his destination. Fighting the waves to the shore was a tremendous task but his masculine Saiyan arms were up for the challenge. Once he reached the drenched sand that sunk with every step he took, he looked up into the beating onslaught of rain to see Roshi standing in his doorway. Vegeta fought his way to the old man and pushed his way carelessly passed him, welcoming himself into the hermit's household. He rolled his head around the expanse of his shoulders, a symphony of hollow sounding cracks sang from his neck and spine. "What is going on out there, old man?" "Oh, you mean you haven't been watching the news, Vegeta!?" Roshi chimed as he took up his staff in both hands, leaning his weight upon the gnarled stick for support. "Apparently some mad scientist has stolen an experimental weather controller and is now creating havoc all over the world!" Vegeta could only shake his head at the story but sure enough, as he glanced over to Roshi's glowing television set, the alerting news cast was going over the situation once again, describing everything exactly how the hermit had stated. "And I bet no one knows where he is hiding." "No one knows but my sources say the awkward weather started in the mountains across the ocean, south of here." Roshi nodded to confirm to himself that what he said was true. The Prince of Saiyans stared hard at the old man for a moment. "You don't have any sources other than that old bag Baba." "Heh heh heh," he laughed, responding in a dull whisper. Roshi leaned in closer so Vegeta could hear. "I wouldn't say that too loud if I were you, she's still here." |

It was only a matter of hours until an eternally soaked Vegeta reached the shore south of Roshi's Island and was greeted with the harsh cold that you would commonly find in the Arctic Circle. It wasn't long before his clothing completely froze over and he had to break the ice from it to continue his journey toward the mountain range. It was impossible to see through the blizzard alone, yet the awkward blanket of fog that accompanied it. If there truly was a secret hideout lurking in these mountains, this combination of weather would certainly provide fantastic cover for it. After hours of traversing the endless mountains, Vegeta began to give up any hope of finding the supposed base of operations and really desired to return Roshi the favor with an unrestrained beating. He had lost feeling in just about every limb even though he clung to himself to keep what little warmth he still had alive. By chance, he saw a small lightly briefly illuminate through the thick downfall of wind ravaged snow. Vegeta narrowed his gaze to try and see the signal more clearly but the light did not return again. He questioned whether his mind was playing tricks on him or had he actually seen something through the storm. The Prince decided to investigate regardless considering his only other option was to return empty handed. Drawing closer to where he originally saw the light, Vegeta noticed a pair of figures standing under the protection of a large metal awning. They were both suited in weather protective, insulated bodysuits and equipped various models of machine guns. They were definitely protecting something. "So the old man was right after all.. again." He saw the dull light flare up again, noticing that it was nothing more than one of the guard's cigarettes as he inhaled on it. Vegeta didn't come all this way to back out now. It was time for him to bash some skulls and destroy the blasted machine creating such ill fated weather. |

The Saiyan Prince stood to his full height and took a few dashing steps forward before he leapt into the air, flying freely under the turbulent cover provided by the monstrous blizzard. As Vegeta drew closer to the pair of guards, he noticed one of them attempting to light a cigarette in the middle of this storm. It was apparent now that he was the source of the light flaring up every now and then, unsuccessfully continuing to ignite his habit over and over. From the wild sky, the Prince dropped and landed in a knee deep pile of snow with a resounding thud. The two guards looked up from their posts and glared at the mysterious intruder through thick snow goggles but immediately moved to raise their rifles at him. Before they could set their sighting on him, Vegeta fired off a small dodonpa ray to main hand of each gunner, blasting the weaponry out of their grips and into banks of snow. "Wh-what?! Who are you?!" one of the guards shouted as his unlit cigarette fell from his mouth, turning quickly on his heels and making a beeline for the entrance of the facility. Vegeta quickly stepped into pursuit but was confronted by the other guard. The second guard came to the Prince and took a wide swing for his chilled face, a movement which Vegeta did nothing to prevent. The man's padded glove struck him square in the cheek but the feeble attempt only made the Saiyan grin a bit. Vegeta stepped in toward the violent guard and stayed his movements with a powerful backhand. The swipe of his knuckles caught the posted sentry underneath his jaw and carried him a good five feet off the ground before he was deposited into another snow bank. With the immediate threat dealt with, he continued into the facility currently harnessing the weather machine and brushed his clothing free of snowflakes. At the sound of footsteps, the Prince of Saiyans lifted his head to bear the sight of an enormous, half skinned android and his oncoming balled fist. The fist connected and the blow blasted Vegeta back out into the violent weather and into the soft snow. "Hm, I might have a problem." |

From his place on the ground, an immersive aura of ki exploded around him. Vegeta once amused expression rapidly faded into a mask of anger, obviously pumping himself up mentally for the fight he was about to have. A gigantic roar pealed from somewhere deep within the Prince, blasting forward to return to the Android that now stepped into the unbearable weather. In the time it would take for a bolt of lightning to strike from sky to earth, Vegeta descended upon his man machine of an opponent. His pent up anger raged in its fruition now, unloading what seemed like megatons of force with each of his incredibly quick attacks. Full fisted punches landed to the Android's false abdomen and chest, doubling in ferocity with sharp kicks striking high around his metallic neck and disheveled face. In the same combination of attacks, Vegeta drew his fist back and fought to gather a tremendous amount of ki in preparation for his next attack. The formed punch burned forth at the Android, paired together with another empowering yell although the man made fighter attempted to dodge. The Saiyan landed his explosive punch on the Android's skinned shoulder where it erupted with the energy he had gathered. The machine's armor and robotics shattered into millions of shards at the force of impact against Vegeta's attack, completely blowing off the arm previously mounted there. The Android showed no emotion as its internal, and now exposed, circuitry began to spark once the wet assault of snowflakes burdened him. The metallic fighter's head began to twitch from side to side as he broke down systematically from the inside, frying manufactured neural pathways and debasing the very essence of a computerized soul that willed him life. In one final, grand finale of an explosion, the Android and his many parts were cast in every which direction as if a bomb had gone off inside him. Vegeta also showed very little enthusiasm for the display but rather decided to continue forward and find the weather machine that was stolen. It was only then that he realized the horrific weather outside suddenly stopped and quickly began to return to its regular climate. "Wait? Could it have been?" The Prince quietly said to himself as he looked around, surveying the ground for any shred of the Android. It was to his luck that he found a rather large chunk of metal plating on the ground where the robot once stood. Upon further inspection of the piece, a light smile grew to Vegeta's lips as he read over a partial serial number and words of description that labeled what it previously belonged to. "It seems the scientist built the weather controller into the Android as a safeguard. The machine had no choice but to guard the device with his artificial life. Interestingly enough, my job here appears to be done." Although that was true, Vegeta returned to the inside of the facility anyhow, hoping to clear it out of any remnant scientists and guards. Hours later, with a devilish smile on his lips, he returned home to a city basking in the fulfilling sunshine of a near perfect day. Judging by Vegeta's appearance, he was content with the way he handled this matter of catastrophe. ~Fin |
