Krillin sat on a lawn chair looking out at the ocean. He sat next to Master Roshi who was sitting in a lawn chair as well. The master was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and big shades. In one hand was a coconut cracked open with an umbrella sprouting from the top. It was filled with some beverage that the old man had been drinking on for like the past hour now. The master seemed content and satisfied on what was happening, but Krillin was losing his patience him. Krillin leaned up looking over at the old fool who was rumored to be a great master. He opened his mouth and then closed it. His finger rest on his bottom lip as he sat there and thought what to say or even how to say what he wanted to. He finally decided to speak up. “Um…Master Roshi…” Master Roshi didn’t move or even make a sound. The old wrinkly man just lied in his chair with his shades lowered over his eyes. Krillin spoke again. “Excuse me, but Master…are you sure we are training?” Krillin scratched the back of his head with a puzzled look on his face. “This just doesn’t seem right…” Master Roshi rolled over and grumbled a bit. The coconut drink fell over on to the beach sand. The old master was now lying on his side in the lawn chair…SLEEPING!!! Krillin started to shake his head in discontent now. He couldn’t believe what was happening. He had come all this way to train under the only master that supposedly taught the Turtle Style and he was sleeping. He hadn’t done any type of training all week. All he had been doing was plowing gardens and catching fish. All the while he was doing the Masters chores; he was wearing that big stupid turtle shell that weighed enough to be an annoyance rather than a training item. |

Krillin slid to a stop when he arrived in the town. He bent over at the waist and started to pant heavily. He was worn out and swore. The lame training that Master Roshi was giving him was defiantly taking more of an effect than he had once originally thought. Perhaps the old fool was the legend that everyone spoke of and maybe Krillin was just too naive to have witnessed it before. He was witnessing it now, though. The stupid antics over at Kame House he had been doing had completely worn him down. Krillin looked up. The whole village was empty. The old straw huts were abandoned and there wasn’t any sign of life anywhere in the tiny village. The only things that were moving were the chimes that clinked together from the wind and the rarely seen tumbleweed that would roll across his path as he started to walk through the paths formed from the bare feet that travelled through the village daily. The sight was appalling to Krillin and especially eerie. It kind of spooked him. Krillin heard a yell from up ahead. Before he could move towards the noise he saw what it was. An elderly looking man came stumbling out from around the corner. He scurried across the dirt path on his hands and knees trying to escape from something. The old man seemed scared to death of something. There was no doubt in Krillins mind that this was the dojo master here in the village. His thought was then concluded when a man walked from around the same corner as the scared elder donning a katana. The katana bearing man walked slowly to the old man and raised his leg. With a crushing force, the man slammed his foot down onto the center of the old man’s back. Krillin’s whole body flinched at the sound that followed the stomp. He could hear the cracking of the back and the blood curdling scream the old man let out from the assault. Krillin muttered to himself. “Shit…I should’ve stayed at Kame House…” |

Krillin couldn’t watch it any longer. He had to say something. He needed to say anything, but he wasn’t quite sure if he even stood a chance against the samurai. He stood more of a chance then the old man that squirmed under the warrior’s foot and devilish smirk, though. He needed to swallow his fear. Krillin’s arm shot forward with his index finger pointing out. It pointed directly at the warrior who held the samurai sword. “Hey!! Why don’t you…” Before Krillin could even finish his sentence the man wasn’t there anymore. The old man still laid on the ground flopping around in pain, but the warrior was gone. That freaked the shit out of Krillin for a moment and he jumped back. His jaw had dropped wide open. He didn’t even see the man move. He had never saw anyone so fast before. It was completely uncanny. How was he supposed to fight someone like this? Krillin started to try a grab his composure. He started to mumble to himself for reassurance. “Alright…maybe he was just scared or startled and ran away…Yeah that’s what happened! The guy isn’t as strong as everyone thinks and he got scared…” Krillin stared to walk towards the old man. “I seriousily hope I’m right…” Krillin hurried over to the old man. He bent down to him and rolled the guy over. “Hey!! It’s okay. He’s gone now. I’m here, man.” Krillin looked down at the man grinning trying to make the old guy feel better about what just happened. He seemed to be in quite a bit of pain and Krillin needed to get him somewhere so he could get better. Krillin started to squeeze his hands under the old master so that he could work his arms under him. His plan was to hoist the man up and carry him somewhere like a hospital or something. That all went void when Krillin saw the man’s eyes. They were wide open and looked straight up. The old man’s jaw trembled. The expression was that of a complete terrified old man. In the man’s pupil, Krillin saw the reflection of the warrior that stood behind him now. A foot landed a gruesome attack to the back of Krillins head, which sent him rolling forward and dropping the old man. |

Krillin went rolling forward through the dirt. He spun around quickly and faced the warrior now. He stood slowly because his muscles still ached from the training. Once up he just stared at the warrior and began to get into a fighting position. He looked across the old man that lay in between him and the katana wearing warrior whose back was to him. He saw the Chinese symbol for Akuma clearly now. This was no doubt the warrior that had been slaughtering dojo master here lately. The thought made Krillin feel better that it was the warrior that landed a kick on him instead of just some normal man. The warrior turned slowly and stared at Krillin. He still had this blank expression with a devilish smirk on his face. The warrior was easily almost seven feet tall. It was abnormal and the man’s height definitely left Krillin at a disadvantage. As always Krillin was facing someone who was taller than him. This time the man stood a good two feet over him, though. “Why can’t shit ever be easy?” Krillin mumbled. The man spoke up. “Do you seriously plan on fighting me without a sword? That’s stupid kid…” Krillin felt insulted. “I’m not a kid!! I’m just…um…short for my age…” Krillin started to get even angrier as the man laughed at what he had just said. “Plus I’m a student under the great Master Roshi and quite skilled with the Turtle Style. You should be the one that feels stupid!!” Krillins bluff didn’t work. He wanted to scare the warrior a little to shake the man’s nerves. “Oh? Well, you will be quite the warrior to challenge then. They say that Master Roshi’s Kamehameha could break my katana blade. A test I’ve been meaning to take for quite some time now.” Krillin sighed at what was going to happen now. It was going to happen now. He was going to fight this man now. He knew that there would only be one victor and he didn’t have a sword. “Shit just can never be easy…” |

The warrior charged at Krillin. His arm that had the sword clinched was across his body. The sword was over his head as he ran towards Krillin preparing for a back slash. He leapt over the old man and appeared in front of Krillin instantly. He swung the sword violently with full force at Krillin who had jumped back just in time so that it had only cut the front of his red gi. Krillin went into a backwards one handed spring and landed on his feet. He then shot forward with a tightly clinched fist. He yelled as he planted a solid punch across the warriors face. Amazed that he actually made contact, he paused for a second. That was a mistake, however, because it gave the warrior time to sweep a leg under Krillins, which sent Krillin falling on his rear. “Ouch!!” Krillin yelled, but quickly regained his composure. Krillin jumped to his feet and decided to throw a flurry of punches and kicks now. The warrior he fought was doing a pretty outstanding job at deflecting most of his attacks, but every now and then Krillin landed some pretty decent attacks. They weren’t too often, but they were ones that counted. He could tell that the little he was landing was taking a toll on the warrior, who was still blocking a good bit. Krillin was getting fatigued now after a while. His attacks were so constant that he was giving himself time to rest in between the punches and kicks. The warrior was realizing this and was biding his time to sneak in an attack. It wasn’t too long he waited, however. He quickly snuck in a jab to Krillin’s nose that halted Krillins frenzy of attacks. Krillin stumbled backwards holding his nose. He removed his hand and looked at it. Blood filled his palm. His nose was bleeding. He could feel its warmth trickle from his nostrils over his lips and down off his chin. His eyes watered a bit from the attack. Krillin simply just took his arm and wiped his face clean. |

Krillin looked up at the warrior in anger. The warrior looked worst off then him, though. The warrior was bloodied and knotted up all over his face. The attacks had defiantly done a good amount of damage. The warrior was limping on a leg that Krillin had kicked repeatedly and his left eye was nearly swollen shut from the barrage of punches that he had been dealt. The warrior smirked. “Let’s end this now…” Krillin nodded and got down into a defensive stance. He stared at the warrior preparing for the attack. He knew that it was the warrior who would attack. He wanted a noble end and Krillin respected that. He decided that the warrior wish for nothing more, but to be cut down while still fighting. It was a goal for most fighters. The warrior charged at Krillin screaming. Krillin’s muscles tensed as he prepared. The warrior ran at full potential towards Krillin, who smirked and started charging towards the warrior. He was up for this battle now. He knew that it was already won. The warrior did stand a chance now. ________________ The elderly man looked opened his eyes. He laid in the back of an ambulance, now. Krillin stood over him grinning. The man had no recollection of what happened after he passed out from the pain. The last thing he remembered was watching the first attack that was dealt by the murderous swordsman that had attacked him moments before. “What happened?” The old man moaned. Krillin pointed over his shoulder with his thumb. “Well…he won’t be bothering anyone anymore. That’s for sure.” The old man leaned up and saw what Krillin pointed at. He saw that Krillin was pointing out the swordsman being put into the back of a police car in hand cuffs. A grin inched across the old man’s face. He laid back into the mattress he laid upon in the ambulance. A sense of security over whelmed his body. The sedatives began to kick in and he simply just mumbled his gratitude before passing out. |
