I was reading through the power ups and saw that it said for "Power Up" everyone starts with it for free and that it doesn't take up a slot. Are there any others like this?

Also a suggestion: In the how to join section where it says what you start with it should also like starting techs like this one.

No the power up technique is special since it was just modified on the latest patch. You do start with 4 SP though that you can use on a technique in the first update if you master train.

Other exceptions would be stated in the race section.
