Urido smiled at the challenge, issued by the alien he had fought once before, he sunk in to a stance.

“ I accept you honorable challenge my fellow knight but only if you fallow the fallowing rules, frist of all this will be a friendly duel with no death strikes, the next rule is that I do not wish to damage this scared place and as such ask that you do not use any ki projectiles. And finally the third rule I will ask to sharpen our skills we do not use weapons of any kind.” The Sayian youth said.

With that the alien smiled and set into his own stance nodding solemnly, the alien had a strange toothy smile on his face.

The two men then stood looking at one another for what seemed like a long time, the sun high in the sky besat upon the two warriors and the surrounding stone floor the heat from which reradiated from the stone back on to their bodies. Urido was clad now in a light gui meant for light use his sword and armor still in his room, his bare feet set easily on the hot stone there was a fraction of a second, if you blinked you would have missed it both fighters darted in and set off a chain of blows simltionously both leaped back Urido scooped a wooden chair up with his leg and threw it with his foot at the alien rushing in behind the chair. Ready with a blast fist to attack the alien , the plan was the alien dodged the chair and was met with Urido’s iron fist technique. The resulting attack had the capability to lift and throw the alien from the ground and throw him across the deck of the scared place. The Sayian was aiming for the aliens chest as he moved in for the kill his fist began to surge with ki and glow with a fierce light.

Martyrs are only what you make of them...
"Those rules sound fair enough, and considering the amount of lavish items Master Kami has pained to gather over the course of his life I would hate to damage any of it either," A'grahl stated as he looked around the training area, his mind oblivious to Urido's mention of anything sacred as the word was foreign to him.

A'grahl rushed in at Urido with an intense fervor about him, the idea of a good fight was something that always enticed him. The rules, especially, added to the tension as he charged in at Urido. The saiyan exchanged blows with A'grahl for what seemed like a full minute but was little more than five seconds.

When he flipped back, A'grahl caught his footing just a second before Urido. Using that time to his advantage, he rushed in at the saiyan and leapt towards him. The keen saiyan sent a chair to his landing destination, causing him to fumble awkwardly while fighting to keep his balance.

His eyes caught a glimmer of ki around the saiyan's fist as he brought it towards A'grahl's chest. Knowing the technique well enough, he brought a hand up to catch his forearm. The fist stopped just short of his face, and A'grahl let out a sigh audibly as he pushed Urido back and jumped back quite a ways himself.

"Nice one Urido, you nearly had me there" He said in confirmation of the near fight-ender, returning to his horse stance and rushing his opponent again.

As he rushed in, A'grahl slid down to try and sweep Urido's legs from below him. His sweep, however, was thrown close to ten feet from Urido. His plan was to follow up the sweep with an axe kick. Focusing his ki into his body to enhance his speed even further, A'grahl teleported forward to sweep his legs out.

Yamcha took a swig from his flask. Weeks had flown by like days, and the two humans had grown close. Closer then the marred warrior had been to any person in nearly a decade. His body was stiff with pain but it was nothing in comparison to the calm on his masters face, it lifted his spirits knowing that the timeless warrior was near by to instruct to calm the aeon wolf.

"I'm glad..." Yamcha said abruptly, quickly gulping down another mouth full of cooling water. He sighed heavily at the sight of a electronic calender which was perched neatly on a bookcase that separated the room. the insatiable drive to push himself and take full advantage for the remaining months ushered in a stream of chaotic and dangerous thoughts, cascading from darkest recesses of the marred warriors mind and pouring from between his parted, velvety lips.

"Let's get out of here..." Yamcha said, abruptly changing the conversation from friendship. He hadn't the words or the time to describe how he felt. He hopped his mop top friend and trainer was already onto him. Crono raised a brow in curiosity as he emerged from between a rather large text on avalonian avionic theory and engineering principles. The two of them had taken to studying such things during there down time, thou Yamcha was much more interested in the applications human robotics and even had a guilty pleasure of his own, Protectorate law.

His head shook slowly so that the ebon tendrils of his mane danced across and over the pale and ever growing mounds of muscle there were his shoulders, shaking away thoughts of leisure.

"Out there... I learned something. I know you can feel it too Red" Yamcha looked out into the endless terrain as he outstretched his hand.

"If we can learn to live and survive while under constant attack then..." He hesitate at the thought of saying it aloud. The idea was so delicate, so tender, that even a whisper of its mention would prevent its fruition and cause it to crumble like a dried rose in the summer light. The dark haired swordsman continued by broadcasting his thoughts telepathically, begrudgingly.

'Maybe we can harness something...something humans can't imagine'

Watching the alien, stumbled over his clever tactic the youthful Sayian threw a Ki packed punch. The Sayian advanced quickly his left foot and left trusting forward with his left Ki packed fist thrusting out a up, the alien trusted an arm up under the Sayian’s left and then forcing him back with his offhand the immense power it took to push the much heavier Sayian back caused him to stumble back himself. The Sayian landed his back foot he landed his back knee bent and his front foot only barely on the ground. Then in the blink of eye the alien trust himself forward and attempted to sweep the Sayian. Urido leaned back on his bent knee and then thrust himself up and over the alien, landing in a crane like stance before the alien went into his axe kick maneuver but the Sayian was not in the target area any more the Sayian thrusted forward a heel kick aimed at the aliens hip in the brief moments he might have been off balance. The idea of this was to send the alien to the ground if successful the Sayian was planning to continue the attack with a stomp to the nearest appendage.

While the two warriors battle furiously the monk Gao sat carefully off to the side, he was sitting in a lotus seat while booth of his hands lay across his knees each hand carefully held in a obscure, manner. His face was a peaceful and tranquil contrast to the warring faces of his comrades. The gentel monk sat and begun to glow. The eerie blue aura lit the surrounding area but did not seem to distact the two fighters whom only saw each other. The two figures where of little concern to the young monk as he was conversing with his master on the time he had spent away and on the current challenges they both had.

A'grahl quickly rushed to counter Urido's dodge only to be met with a fierce kick to his side. It brought him down onto one hip, holding himself up with his right arm and grunting as he tried to sit up. As he shifted his weight Urido's foot stomped down heavily on his arm that was supporting him, causing him to fall back flat on his back.

Letting out a pain induced growl, A'grahl brought his right leg up to meet the back of the saiyan's knee. If it landed right the Saiyan would lose his footing and A'grahl would use that to his advantage, attempting to pin the saiyan down and get ahold of his arm. The arm bar should be enough to call the match a draw and keep him from getting beat down any further.

He lifted his legs up from the ground, propping himself on his right side again to strike at the back of Urido's leg. As his leg sped through the air he caught a glimmer of ki behind Urido. A monk stood behind him, his ki flickering around his body wildly.

A'grahl cocked his head for a second, looking back to Urido with a grin on his face,"It appears we may have overstepped our bounds a bit. Guess it's hard not to get too carried away, eh?"

The monk stepped forward, gently resting a hand on Urido's shoulder to seperate the two fighters. Sweat rolled down A'grahl's face, his head resting back on the ground for a second while he let out the breath he had been holding in. Urido seemed to be relieved as well, though there was something in his eyes that revealed he was not quite ready to quit the fight just yet.

"Another time," A'grahl said in a playful tone to assure Urido of a rematch.

Arching his back, A'grahl flipped forward and onto his feet. After brushing the dust from his clothes and wiping his foregead once more he bowed to Urido. Straightening his purple and black armor out to fit his frame and returning his scouter to it's natural position A'grahl let out a sigh.

"You know Urido," A'grahl said as in between a few deep breaths and a slowed down kata,"I can't wait to get another chance at a match against you. Your skills are quite impressive. Between you, Crono and Yamcha, I think I have met a suitable match. You all are so quick to respond, your moves are fluid and yet you all have different styles. It is truly impressive..."

Noticing he was dragging on, A'grahl decided to allow Urido a chance to speak of himself,"So, where did you learn martial arts and the control of ki?"

Urido looked at the alien with a flame in his eyes as he asked a innocent question that cause Urido great pain. But out of respect for heiis fellow knight the words slowly came.

“ I learned a lot from different masters, frist on my home planet most of my basic fighting style and my sword play was from my father on Edokin a planet now in the clutches of the evil regime the crimson fist, this is the reason I am here to learn from the great masters of the universe and repay those who have enslaved my world I am here to gain power and allies, to fix what has been broken.” Uridos voice took an edge towards the end.

Goa grabbed his charge on the shoulder more roughly this time, but there
was a violent edge to the Sayian he threw the monk backward with a strange palm strike the alien was not familiar with. The Sayian youth then left toward his room his steps where hurried as if he found no further value in this exchange.
The monk Goa held a hand out to stop the alien who seemed to have tensed. The alien stopped cold in this tracks.

“Leave him, he will go and meditate he will be sorry later, for all his strength he is still very much a child, although he has the power, he does not yet have the maturity to deal with his troubled path. There is a great weight on his shoulders and he does not bear it well. Be careful with yourself around the boy, he is not as solid as he seems.” The monk spoke.

The monk waited a second his eyes seemed to glow but he did not invite comment, then again he spoke.

“I am sorry to interrupt your spar with my charge but he is not always capable to restrain himself, in fact he broke his own rules in the first move of the fight deliberately throwing the chair into the fight. This is the reason I stopped him, he doesn’t tend to stop until someone quits or he is knocked out, if perhaps your hunger for battle is not sated I will fight in his stead.” The monk said.

"What we do not realize, my students, is that the ki we use everyday is not a tool. It is our very essence of being. Even though we know this consciously, we do not know it subconsciously. True mastery comes when you are able to react with your ki as if it was your very body. I call this transcendence."

Emim lay flat on his back in one of the many scattered reflecting pools besetting Kami's lookout, pondering the meaning of these words. He gazed forlornly at the setting sun to the west, watching as the sky was masterfully painted in incredible shades of red, yellow, and indigo.

"Emim, I want you to meditate on what ki means to you. Search within your past, focus on the battles and training with your allies. Find what it is that you must do to command your energy to do your bidding. It is a fundemental part of your soul and without this level of understanding you are but a ronin, a wanderer with no purpose."

The giant pale alien let the water fill his gills, trading oxygen for carbon dioxide without command. The templar replayed all of his journeys and adventures in his mind, from his initial arrival on Earth, to joining the Headhunter's Guild on Freiza, training with Master Adel on Kelioux, and battling the Crimson Fist alongside his new friends and allies. What could be learned from these events to prepare him better for the future?

"All living beings have ki. It flows through us and binds us with the world around us. From it we can perform miracles and achieve levels of power only rivaled by the gods of old. But we see this power as a tool, do we not?"

It binds the world around us... the wind, the sea, the very fires of the Earth's core; all were his to command, a sword and a shield to aid in battle against the impure. No, he was part of this world, bound to it's other life forms. The elements were not his device, but he theirs. This planet lent Emim her mighty strength to exorcise evil, and aid in her protection. He was a knight in her liege, and could harness even the power of the sun if he would free his mind and allow himself to be the tool.

The Nephilim's aura shone red as he subconsciously raised his ki to its maximum capacity. The water around him began to bubble and steam, evaporating in a thick cloud of condensation overhead. The marble base around the pool shook and crumbled, large rocks crashing from the lookout to the ground miles below.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaah!" Emim unleashed a deafening scream as his power continued to rise. Billows of fire blasted around him, setting the foliage ablaze in a deathly inferno. His eyes refused to open and yet he could not stop himself from watching as mankind murdered themselves and their Mother Earth. Desolate and corrupt men defiling the planet with their extreme corruption and decadence.

"Emim," a soft voice behind him spoke. He turned towards it, and saw the small child held cruelly in the arms of the pirate. "You killed me, now be judged for you sins."

The bones of the alien's skull felt like they were breaking into pieces, and his heart was tearing itself asunder. The templar collapsed unconscious to ground, the fires spreading around him, filling the air with a thick, choking smog.

Crono lifted up his goggles and took a deep breath. White mist exited from his mouth into the frozen air. He and Yamcha scuffled along. Their bodies shook from the sub zero temperatures. Crono finally stopped and fell to one knee. He wheezed.

"The air," he said. "It's so thin."

Yamcha looked wobbly. He lifted up his goggles as well. They had made the goggles before their trek into the endless white to protect their eyes. Yamcha had added a few custom tweaks to them. Like the ability for blinders to slide down, for mostly for sleep. The blinders had been essential to keep their sanity; as they could still be well rested after a long day's hike.

He tossed down his giant canvas bag and walked over. He slipped his arm under Crono's and lifted him up. He could feel the other's body shaking. Yamcha was much more used to harsh conditions; as his early childhood survival had depended on it. He felt a twinge of sorrow for Crono who had never lived in deserts, mountains, and frozen tundras as he had.

"Just a little big longer, boss," Yamcha said. He noticed how chapped Crono's lips and face were from the moisture being sucked out of them by the cold. He reached for his clay jug of water and yanked the cork out. Shards of ice fell to the floor below. He went to pour some water into Crono's mouth but there was only a thunk. The water was frozen solid.

Golden light appeared on his finger tips and he sunk them into the jug. The heat from his ki started to speed up the molecules and the ice instantly began to dissolve back into water. Afterward he put the jug back to Crono's mouth. The red-haired warrior took a long drink. The warm water that flushed into his body gave him enough energy to stand on his own.

It was then Yamcha saw something out of the corner of his eye. In the distance, shimmering in the white, was orange. He perked an eyebrow, in a confused manner. The orange was traveling their way fast. The air around them began to heat up rapidly and the sudden burst of heat almost knocked them over.

Crono turned his head and saw the flames barreling in toward them. "That's not good," he said and fanned out his arms. "Brace yourself."

He closed his eyes and began to generate a ki barrier around himself and Yamcha. It crackled to life with a yellow glow. The flames hit it and swept over them. Crono was slammed back, his feet sliding back across the misty ground. There was no where to dig in. The heat inside of the sphere began to rise and he saw steam coming off of his skin. Yamcha slammed down his goggles and then reached over and did so to Crono's as the light from the fire was far too intense.

The wave of fire passed and Crono lowered his ki barrier. He stood hunched over, out of breath. Yamcha turned and then noticed that his canvas bag was scorched and blackened almost to the point of ash.

"No..." he said. "Our food."

Crono turned and frowned. "It's going to be a long trip back home."

Crono looked back. His sullen eyes blinked needlessly under his goggles. His torso was wrenched with wicked pain. It had been days since he or Yamcha had eaten. So many days that his body felt powerless. He felt as if he had just fought a hard battle. There wasn't much vitality left for he or the Aeon Wolf. Yamcha had been tough for a long time during their trek back. Now the marred fighter was practically crawling.

His black hair was matted down with sweat. His goggles hung on his neck and his eyes were bloodshot. Crono noticed each step he took was laborious.

"Red," he said in a course voice. One of vocal cords that were drying. They had run out of water two days before. "I think this is it."

Crono felt anger pang through him. It was something he was not used to. The peace and calm he normally felt was hard earned. This anger was righteous and he felt it was valid. No, it wouldn't be the end of them. They would come out of the Room far stronger. They would make it back.

"No," Crono said and shook his head. "Not if I have anything to say about it."

Despite the immense pain his body was in he rushed over and grabbed Yamcha. He slung on on his back. The weight was barely noticeable; due to his immense strength--but his muscles ached terribly from the action.

Crono took a long breath. "We're going home."

He started to run. At first it was gradual. His body felt creaky and stiff and with each step the pain increased. He drew off of the pain and let his emotions open up. It was part of survival instinct. Anger was not healthy, but it was a good fuel for adrenaline and the power to go on. He used his anger as a tool to survive. And for that he was not wrong in the least.

He broke into full stride. He moved across the white abyss in a blur of motion. The last bit of moisture in his body dripped down across his face and brow, and splattered on his tattered tunic. He felt his heart beating sporadically in his chest and then felt a sharp dagger stab his heart.

"Don't give up on me now," Crono said and grabbed his chest. He had to shake himself from fear. They weren't going to die; not yet.

He needed to distract himself. He looked back a little and saw Yamcha's eyes were shut. He could still feel his breathing against his back so he knew the Aeon Wolf was still alive.

"We'll get to see Horn," Crono said smiling. His stride increased. "I miss that kid. For him it's been like a day, but this has been the longest year of my life."

He saw Yamcha give a weak smile. "Horn..." the words barely audible came from his mouth.

It was then he saw the way station. Like a beacon in the distance it came into view. Crono felt tears flow down his cheeks and he picked up his pace. He slowed down as he finished cross the distance and climbed up the white steps. It was then he collapsed. He and Yamcha rolled across the ground. They laid still.

The big white door creaked open and flooded the way station with the dim yellow light of the sun. Kami and Mr. Popo entered. Although his eyes were shut, Crono could hear the clicking noise of Kami's cane on the stone.

"Oh dear," Mr. Popo said. "Are they?"

Kami's green brow furrowed. "No they're still alive," he said. "Just barely."

Kamed turned toward the door. "Emim, Urido, A'grahl, anyone! Come in here. They need our help. Let's get them to a bed and get some sensu beans."

Martyrs are only what you make of them...
Hearing Kami's call, A'grahl politely bowed to the monk before him as he rushed over to meet Crono and Yamcha. It seems they had emerged from the time chamber finally, and he wanted to see the extent of their progress. What trials had they faced in their training?

Kami told me that, when I'm ready, I can give it a try. This time chamber sounds intense, and I can't wait to see just how much of a result you can get from it. The prototype was horribly tough, but Kami said it was nowhere near as powerful as the machine that he allowed Crono and Yamcha to train in, A'grahl thought as he rushed towards the time chamber.

"Hurry, we can't keep them both up," Popo shouted from around the corner.

As A'grahl slid through the hallway he saw the jet black djinni's head poking out from an open doorway, his eyes meeting A'grahl's as they both showed signs of concern. Popo's head retracted into the doorway as A'grahl neared the door, muffled sounds could be heard from within the next room. Once he made his way to the threshold of the door he saw Yamcha being supported by Kami and Popo, with Crono not too far off struggling to keep his footing as well.

A'grahl rushed to Crono's side, holding him up above his shoulder and supporting him with his outstretched arm. He followed Kami out of the room bearing the warrior's weight on his shoulder and wondering what had happened to them.

"When this is all over," A'grahl said to Crono in a playful voice to try and ease his apparant pain,"You need to explain to me what managed to kick your asses. I have been trying for weeks to no avail, but you walk out of there and you both are damn near dead..."

Rounding the corner to a nearby bedroom, A'grahl helped Crono down onto a bed nearby Yamcha's. He sighed as he looked down at the two men, as whatever they had gone through in that time chamber must have been the most grueling test ever.
