Sun Stones

Difficulty: Hard Quest

Description:
Dr. Hemin has called upon a powerful warrior to help him create four sun stones. He shows you the blank rocks that are the size of a soft ball and then explains how to create them. He hands you a ley energy tracker and sends you off to find the perfect mountain peak. You must find the perfect balance of spiritual energy and light to forge the stone. The reason he needs you to do it is because when a sun stone is created its power opens up a dimensional rift... You're to stop what comes through before it harms anyone or anything.

Reward:

Solarweave Cloak - Equipped on the body. Amplifies training by +16 all stats (+64 ki, 128 pl)

OR

Sunstone Shard - While this time is in your inventory all stats are increased by +10 in battle. Once per battle you can use the stone to charge up a ki attack to full power (maximum actions) in one action.

Available: Always

Special: Must be over 3,000 PL to take this quest. Must be neutral or good alignment.

Janemba opened one of his eyelids and saw Roshi, the old turtle hermit, waving him over. “Oh Janemba...I have a little mission for you...” The demon’s eyes immediately snapped open and he leapt to his feet, ready to run in an instant. But then he stopped and, chuckling to himself, he walked over to Roshi and asked what it was he wanted.

“What was all that about?” asked the master curiously.

“Oh, it’s...umm...sorry. Force of habit.”

The hermit shook it away with a cackling laugh, but suddenly became very serious. “Janemba, I have an important mission for you.” The demon sighed and once again began to run, but before he did he asked Roshi “Is it dangerous?”

The old man shook his head. “No, it’s not. But just because it’s not dangerous doesn’t mean it’s not important.”

“Of course,” replied the demon, “so tell me master, what is it that you want me to do? I will scale mountains and run across fields with rocks on my back...”

“Well, that’s very nice, but now for the mission-”

“I will leap inside volcanoes and fight back the lava to claim your prize. I will resist buffeting winds and leap into the air to fly off into the distance...”

“Yes that’s all very good, but I really only need-”

“I will battle the very forces of nature, and steal away whatever it is you seek from under her unsuspecting nose. For I am Janemba, Demon of Good, defender of right, destroyer of the wicked. No matter how difficult, no matter what the challenge, I will overcome it, for you have asked it and so it shall be-”

The hermit picked up a brown paper bag from beside him, and interrupted the demon. “I need you to take Dr. Breifs his lunch.”

Janemba fell over backwards. From the ground came the sound of his voice.

“That’s all you wanted?”

“Yes, that’s it.”

“Why did you say it was so important?”

“Breify gets very upset when he doesn’t have his lunch. He’s unable to work, and he takes it out on his friends: namely me. I need to make sure he has his lunch every day.”

“Well, why can’t you just deliver it?”

“Because, well...” the old man smiled toothlessly, “...a man needs his alone time. All my students are off, except you. I tried to shoo you away, but you were determined to learn something. That’s just not how I teach, my demon friend. So, off you go. Get it to him by one sharp, or there’ll be hell to pay.”

Janemba picked himself up from the ground and, after dusting himself off, he snatched the bag from the hermit and said “Making me take a scientist his lunch...You’re worse than King Kai! At least his missions were actually important! Oh you masters are all the same; you think just because you can teach me valuable information then you have the right to send your grand elders on errands...” Still muttering to himself, the demon created a whirlwind of sand as he surrounded himself with his aura and flew off into the distance. Roshi watched him until he was just a speck in the sky, then smacked his hands together and proceeded inside his house for his ‘alone time.’

The demon flew through the air, not even feeling the chill wind buffet against him. Below, the dome-like houses whooshed past so quickly they became indistinct against the grey of the footpath and the green of the trees that came along every now and then. Finally, he spied the Capsule Corporation and landed in front of it, marveling at the gaping holes he had left on his last visit.

As he entered the building he was immediately greeted with hostility by the blonde-haired, gum-chewing receptionist. “Where can I find Dr. Breifs?” he asked, still holding the precious package.

“Down the hall.” The demon nodded politely to her and began to walk away when he heard her yell out “Try not to break anything this time!” Janemba turned and shrieked at the receptionist. How dare she? A mere mortal cracking jokes at a demon’s expense? He should destroy her for her arrogance and audacity! Just as he raised his arm to end the pathetic human’s existence, he caught a look at himself in the glass of the door, and to his great surprise and horror the figure staring back at him had eyes filled with nothing but hate and sadism. The figure winked at him, and the demon’s trance ended. He lowered his arm and looked at the woman, who was now cowering behind her desk. Looking around, he realised nobody else was there, and so he promptly made his way to see Dr. Breifs.

When he entered the doctor’s laboratory, he recognised the blue tiles, the desk at the side of the room and, most importantly, the machine attached to the far wall. Dr Breifs immediately sensed the demon’s presence and turned to greet him. “Ah Janemba,” he said, “how’s the sword working out for you?”

“It’s very helpful, and again I thank you for making it for me. I am in your debt.”

The scientist waved his arm. “Think nothing of it; like I said, it was just convenient you were here, or else I would have had to have waited months to test out my purifier. And I’m sorry about charging you, but, well, my walls and the like.”

“I completely understand, which is why I hope this small offering will act as my apology.” Janemba proudly presented the paper bag, and with an enormous grin said “I’ve brought you your lunch.”

“But Janemba,” said Dr. Breifs sardonically, “I buy my lunch from the sushi place down the street...”

Once Janemba had left, Master Roshi went inside his house and turned on his tv. He flicked around until he found the show he wanted, then put his feet up, stretched out his arms and relaxed. And then he doubled over with laughter, holding his belly. That should teach the demon not to ask for training!

Meanwhile, Janemba’s jaw had dropped to quite a considerable distance from his head. “But...but...but...”

“I think Roshi fooled you my purple friend.”

The demon’s jaw lifted back to its proper place, and he turned and clenched his fist. How dare he?! A mortal, playing a prank on Janemba, the greatest of all demons?! Oh, he would pay dearly! Janemba would make him scream till his throat bled, and he would-

The demon caught himself mid-thought, and realised that his face must now look similar to how it had before. He decided that it was unwise to ever go anywhere without Purity, his sword, as it seemed to have something of a calming effect on him. Janemba turned back to Dr. Breifs and said “I apologise for wasting your time. Please forgive me.”

“Think nothing of it Janemba; we’ve all been tricked by Roshi before, and we’ll all be tricked by him again. Don’t take it personally.”

And the demon realised he hadn’t. He smiled and began to walk away when suddenly Dr. Breifs caught his arm and turned him around, showing surprising strength. “Janemba! You’re perfect!”

The demon was stunned. Nobody had ever called him perfect before. He felt quite touched. The scientist, seeing the look on Janemba’s face, immediately elaborated.

“Oh, no no, not that kind of perfect. Perfect for a mission! Yes, a friend of mine; colleague, really, asked me to keep an eye out for strong fighters. He needs them for a special assignment, and I owe him a favour, so how would you like to help me out?”

Janemba sighed. Whether this mission was dangerous or not, it seemed he would be left disappointed. “I would be happy to...”

“Oh that’s so good to hear. He’s been dangling this favour in front of my face for a while now, and only yesterday he called me up and asked me to look for strong fighters; particularly ones with dimensional powers. I don’t know what it’s about, but it must be important.”

At the mention of other dimensions, Janemba was immediately prepared. “Is it the Shasarra? Did he say Shasarra? What about Mel’Koth? Did he mention the Spectral Hall?”

“Hmm...” he thought for a moment, then replied, “Nope, nothing like that. He just mentioned that he needed someone with dimensional abilities, and you seem like the perfect candidate. His name is Dr. Hemin, and his lab is about five blocks away. I’ll let him know you’re coming.”

“Tell him I’ll be there in half an hour. I have some other business to attend to...” Janemba’s expression filled Dr. Breifs with concern.

“You’re not going to hurt anyone are you?”

“Only if they don’t co-operate.”

The scientist swallowed quite audibly. “Good luck,” he said shakily as Janemba walked out the door. That old man would pay...

Back at Kame House, Master Roshi had just recovered from his fit of laughter and was now preparing to watch his favourite R rated movie. A gust of wind threw open the door and it slammed against the wall. There, outlined by the shine of the mid-afternoon sun, was Janemba, his tall, seven-foot form menacing Master Roshi’s stretched out position.

“Roshi...” he began, “...I think we need to have a little talk...”

The turtle hermit picked himself up with surprising speed and rushed out the back door, saying “You’ll have to catch me first!” The demon sighed. It seemed no matter what, the missions he went on required him to run around in circles. Once the hermit approached the front door, Janemba simply stuck out his arm, and the old man’s forehead collided with it sharply.

“I would love to stay and discuss your behaviour further, but unfortunately I’m needed for a dangerous mission. I only came to collect my sword, and now I’ll leave you to your moving pictures.”

As Janemba strapped the sword to his back and flew off into the distance, Master Roshi screamed “Tally-ho!” while still seeing stars.

Once Janemba had landed in front of Dr. Hemin’s lab, he immediately questioned the good doctor’s integrity. It was a dilapidated place with wooden boards covering the windows and graffiti everywhere. The demon looked at it questioningly; scrutinising the appearance heavily, until a tall man in a lab coat came running towards him. He was bald and had stretched skin on his face, and he immediately ushered the demon inside.

“You must be Janemba.” he said hurriedly.

“I am, and I am here to-”

“Yes that’s nice. Now let’s get to it.” The ‘scientist’ closed the door behind them, and flicked a switch. A wondrous interior that was similar to Dr. Breifs’ lab but far more polished was revealed, and the demon was in awe. An array of machines stood in one corner, and test tubes and beakers at the other. He turned to Dr. Hemin, who was smiling smugly.

“Did I fool you with my little trick?”

“Yes, you did.” Janemba felt the urge to scream at the tall man; how dare he insult an immortal by tricking him? But he felt that urge dissipate in an instant, and as such he had hardly noticed it. “What does this device do?” asked Janemba, looking at something that appeared remarkably similar to Dr. Breifs’ purification machine. The doctor responded and told him it was a small generator for other experiments that needed a lot of power...

Meanwhile, inside the demon’s mind, an evil presence decided the course of the future. He had allowed his counter-part to grow in power and possess the body under the belief that he would be able to take control whenever he wanted. The other half wanted to taunt his alter ego a bit, so that in the end it would be he that had massacred half the galaxy, and he would be overcome with guilt. That would be music to the evil presence’s ears, but this was a travesty! A mortal’s weapon was hindering his possession. He would have to put a stop to this, immediately.

Once Janemba had taken the tour of Dr. Hemin’s laboratory, the scientist revealed his true purpose in bringing the demon to him.

“I have brought you here because, according to my colleague Dr. Breifs, you are one of the strongest fighters on Earth right now, and because you have inherent dimensional manipulation abilities. Is this true?”

“Yes it is, but I must warn you that these abilities are exceedingly difficult to control. I am able to seemingly teleport,” the demon demonstrated by splitting himself into cubes and disappearing, then re-appearing on the other side of the room, “but this is not unlike the mortal fighters’ super speed. The only other time I’ve been able to use my abilities willingly was in the Other World, and that was unintentional.”

“Hmm...explain it to me...”

The demon sighed, and said “It is difficult for me to re-collect. I met a...” the demon choked for an instant, “...a girl, and she was very kind. I grew angry with her for a trivial reason, and scared her half to her mortal death. In apology, I shrunk a nearby tree down to the size of my palm and gave it to her. Only seconds later did I realise I had done so, and I have been unable to replicate it.”

“I see...and where is this girl now?”

“Dead; her life was unintentionally ended by me.”

“I...see. Well, no matter your past. If you killed a little girl in some far off place and you say it was an accident, that’s good enough for me. The point is, I need a strong warrior with dimensional knowledge and I suppose you’ll do.”

“What exactly is it that you plan to do?” said the demon while the scientist dipped his hands into a container on a nearby bench. He raised them, and a small clump of dirt was now contained within his hands.

“You want my assistance with dirt?” asked Janemba, before realising the irony of his statement; he of all people should know not to judge a book by its cover.

“This is dirt, yes. But it is a very rare kind of dirt; very special. I sold my old lab to buy just one of these, and now I’ve acquired four.”

“Are you planning to grow vegetables?”

Dr. Hemin smiled wryly. “Ha. Cute. No, these will, under a heavy scrutinisation process, turn into something magnificent.” The scientists eyes were alive with excitement, and they never left the clump in his hand. “Are you familiar with the myth of the Sun Stone?”

“No, I am not.”

“Sun Stones are the embodiment of the symbiosis between the Earth and the Sun. Made of Earth, true, but only brought alive by the exact right moment of the sun’s shine. And there’s more. They also require a harmonised spirit; one being who can truly bring them to life. You are going to do just that.”

“So you require the harmony in my spirit to unlock the Sun Stones?”

“Yes.”

“Why did you ask about my dimensional powers then?”

The doctor’s eyes flittered over to the demon for a moment, then returned to the dirt. He carefully placed it back within the container while speaking. “Because when a Sun Stone is created, it opens a breach into another dimension. I’ve seen some of these places, and believe me, they’re not pretty. I need a warrior to stop whatever comes through, and your dimensional knowledge should come in handy as well.”

The demon had balled his hands into fists, and was now gazing at the far wall. His focus shifted to Dr. Hemin, and he spoke quite angrily while shooting daggers at him. “Foolish mortal; do you really think your miniscule mind could possibly comprehend the dangers of such an experiment?”

Dr. Hemin was shocked; in the entire hour that he had spent with the demon, Janemba had presented no hint of a backbone. The scientist had believed that enticing him to create the Sun Stones would be a simple exercise, but apparently he was mistaken.

“But...why?”

“Why? WHY!? The imbecile wants to know why! You want to know why, is that correct?!”

“Well...yes.”

“This is why; listen carefully, because I thoroughly dislike repeating myself. You have seen these dimensions, and you say they are ‘not pretty’. I have seen these dimensions, and I say to willingly open a connection with them will damn this entire reality!”

“That’s impossible.” the doctor said arrogantly.

“Is it? Do you know of the Shasarra?”

“No...”

“Beings from another dimension; their slaves are more powerful than I, and they are currently amassing their forces. They await only a dimensional breach large enough to carry the main contingent of their army, and they will envelope this dimension in darkness.” Dr. Hemin was left speechless. Janemba calmed down a bit, and then said “You have no idea of the forces with which you meddle. I will not participate in this experiment, and I hope I never have to return here again.”

As the demon was walking away, Dr. Hemin found his courage and said “If not with you, I’ll find someone else to perform the experiment.” Janemba whirled around and cubed away, appearing behind the scientist a second later. “You will find someone else? That is something I will not permit.” The demon swung his leg out and tripped the old man. He landed on the blue tiles and bashed his head against them. He looked up again, and there was Janemba, standing seven feet over him, holding one hand out and charging his energy to disintegrate the old man.

“Is this how that little girl died?” he asked.

Janemba was unfazed by the scientist’s attempted guilt trip, and simply smiled viscerally. But a second after that, the demon regained his senses and saw his reflection in the blue tiles; once again, he looked so unlike himself that the demon was unsure whether it actually was him. He clutched for his sword, and as soon as his hand touched the hilt the reflection screamed noiselessly and was back to normal. Janemba held out his hand, and the scientist took it.

“I apologise for striking you. Perhaps I should explain myself fully. I am of good temperament, but there is also a great evil inside me which terrorised the Next Dimension for a brief time not too long ago. This evil side is not powerful enough to completely possess my body, as my spirit is too strong. He can, it seems, take control for short periods of time, and that is how the girl died. This alter ego slides evil thoughts into my own pure ones and corrupts them, and once I become angered it seems he can possess me as easily as you would breathe.”

“That’s an interesting story, and of course I believe you, and I would like to forgive you, but, well...”

“What?”

Dr. Hemin smiled; he had the poor naive demon now. “Well, you struck my leg quite hard and now it seems I’m unable to walk anywhere. I may need reconstructive surgery, but that will have to wait since I have no money to speak of.” That was a lie, as Hemin could quite easily sell his laboratory and pay for the reconstructive surgery he didn’t need. But he had Janemba hooked; he just needed to reel him in.

“Please, let me make this right. What can I do?”

“You could form my Sun Stones. With the money I’ll gain from it, I’ll be able to afford it. And if you don’t go, it might be someone with no dimensional experience who ends up bringing your Shasarra here. So please, help an old man fulfill a last wish?”

Janemba thought for a moment, and finally accepted by saying “How many do you need?”

Hemin pointed to a nearby bench and Janemba followed his hand. On it was a small rectangular device with a flashing blue screen. The demon picked it up. “That is an energy tracker. It will tell you where you should go. When the screen is permanently blue, it means you’re in the right place. Mountain peaks are best, but remember, unless the screen remains blue the procedure won’t work.”

“What else?”

“You will have to wait until the clouds around the peak clear away before you can perform the experiment. The Stones need sunlight to properly transform.”

“Is that all?”

“You will have to align the four clumps at different points. Their colours represent the order in which they must be activated, according to how dimensionally attached they are. The order is yellow, green, red, purple. They will each create a larger dimensional hole, so be careful, and make sure whatever comes out doesn’t get off the mountain peak.”

Janemba looked at the box and it cubed away. He smiled, and then turned to Dr. Hemin.

“How...how did you do that?”

“Super speed. I just threw the box through dimensions and onto a nearby mountain peak.”

“How do you know it’s the right one?”

“The tracker is there as well, and the screen is blue. Don’t worry doctor, I’ll be back soon with your Sun Stones.”

“Oh I don’t want the stones, I only want to measure their readings. Once they’re all active they will join together in a wondrous display of power. You can have the result of that power if you wish. Now go. And...good luck.”

Janemba nodded and diced himself into cubes. Dr. Hemin almost felt bad about deceiving him, but remembered the money he would get from this experiment and moved himself to his bench to study the readings he got. Meanwhile, Janemba sat atop the mountain peak, unaffected by the cold and the snow, awaiting the sun’s rays.

Janemba sat perfectly silently. He had long ago placed the four clumps of dirt at the edges of the peak, and was now waiting for the sun. By his estimation, the time was almost three o’clock, which meant he only had three more hours until the sun went down and he would have to wait for tomorrow. But fortunately, the demon felt light on his eyelids, and when he opened them he was greeted with the warm yellow glow of the sun. He rose and proceeded to the yellow clump. He held it in his hands and closed his eyes once more.

After almost half an hour of meditation, the stone began to glow and a instantly the dirt disappeared; replaced instead with a transparent gold orb that had some sort of crystal at its centre. As the demon gazed within it, an enormous explosion occurred in front of him and a yellow breach opened. Janemba immediately dropped the stone onto the snow and lowered himself into a fighting stance. From the opening rushed a woman who was badly beaten, bruised, bleeding and wearing what appeared to be a sack as her only garment.

“Janemba,” she said exhaustedly, “I am here to warn you. The Shasarra are amassing their forces, and they will strike your dimension within a week. You must stop them.” She waved her hand and the portal disappeared. The demon stood to his full height and walked towards her.

“How do you know this?” he asked.

“I have been to their dimension. I have seen their army. It is more powerful than you could possibly imagine. You will need help to defeat it.”

“You went to the Shasarran dimension?”

“Yes.”

“And you returned alive?”

“It did cost me,” she said, and showed the demon the left side of her face, which instead of an ear held a bleeding stump. Her teeth chattering, she pleaded with him. “Will you stop them Janemba?”

The woman was rubbing her arms, trying to warm them. Her long, brown hair was now dotted with white snow, and she requested his assistance. Janemba stood in front of her, unaffected by the snow. He sighed, and in an instant had drawn his sword and stabbed the woman through the stomach. She looked at him, shocked.

“Whether you are genuine or not is not my concern. You say you have been to the Shasarran dimension. There is no escape from that horrific place; only I left, and that was because Mel’Koth wished it. You may speak the truth, or you may not, but all that matters is that you might be a Shasarra, and that is a risk I cannot take.”

The demon removed his sword, and the woman fell to the ground. As the snow built up around her, burying her body, Janemba wiped the blood off his blade. His only regret was the first blood Purity had seen had not come from Mel’Koth himself. He looked into the distance, and saw that the sun was still high enough in the sky for him to try again. The demon sheathed his blade before picking up the green clump and closing his eyes again. After another half an hour, a green orb replaced the clump. He dropped it beside the yellow one, not even caring to look at it, and drew his sword, awaiting the second dimensional intruder.

As per before, the breach opened and the demon saw a form appear. It seemed human, but much thinner and a pearly white. The form fell to the ground and cackling laughter emanated from the dimensional hole before Janemba waved his hand and the portal was closed. He approached the form on the ground, trying to assess its origin and nature, but as he got closer he realised it wasn’t a human, but rather the skeleton of one.

Janemba did not know the identity of the skeleton, but instantly recognised its dark blue cloak and red clothing. Rasho, the dark wizard slain on Earth who had terrorised the Other World; who Janemba had been forced to seal inside his own dimension. Apparently he had not accounted for the man’s aging, and he had died in that terrible place. The demon prodded the skeleton to make sure it was actually real, then left it lying there, proceeding instead to the next stone. “Where do you think you’re going?” a voice in his mind spoke. He turned around and saw Rasho’s skeleton standing tall and menacingly laughing, but no noise came out. Janemba did hear the cackling in his mind, however.

“You sealed me in that prison.”

“You forced my hand.”

“Well, now you’re going to pay.”

“Not likely.” said Janemba, and rushed at the skeleton. He cleaved it in two and bones flew into the air. The clothing was sliced completely in half, and the cape flew away to land on top of the orbs. The skull was thrown to the ground, and the cackling was still in Janemba’s mind until he sliced it in two, and the laughter ceased. Looking around, he saw the cloak and placed the orbs inside it before tying it up. He proceeded to the third, red clump, and again meditated.

Just as the sun disappeared behind the horizon, the clump fell away and revealed the red orb. The demon placed it with the others and once again waited for the dimensional breach to open. It did, and Janemba clutched his sword tightly, awaiting his opponent. But nobody stepped through. After almost five minutes, the demon began to wonder whether he had accessed an empty dimension, but at that precise moment a semi-transparent foot emerged followed by a form that made Janemba’s heart skip a beat.

“Ah, so this is the mortal realm.” said Mel’Koth smugly.

Once he had collected himself, the demon eyed Mel’Koth like a stray dog. “Calm yourself Janemba, I am not here to fight you. Believe me, if I were you would long be dead.”

“Then what is it that you want? Begone back to the Spectral Hall if you have nothing to say.”

“But I do; I wish to offer you another chance. Not now, but in time, you will see our perspective. The evil I sensed in you has begun to grow stronger Janemba. Never have I felt such a force; it ripples through the dimensions, dragging my attention constantly. So I offer you this: when the time comes, give in to your evil. It will make you far stronger than you could possibly imagine. As I said prior, I am not here to fight you; simply to make you listen to my proposition. But be warned demon; if you set foot in my dimension again without my authorisation, I will destroy you. Is that understood?”

“And if you set foot in my dimension again, Purity will taste of your innards.”

Mel’Koth laughed mightily, then shook his head. “Janemba, can you not hear yourself? You sound like one of them...” he said, then turned around and walked back through the breach. The demon began to sheath his sword, but before he could an enormous blast of energy knocked him backwards off the mountain’s peak. A booming voice emanated from above him: “Threaten me again, Tainted, and I will cleave you in two!”

The demon regained his composure mid-flight, but he had dropped his sword on his descent. Charging his ki, he rushed down the mountain after it, and found it embedded in the ground below. Janemba pulled it from the rock and proceeded up the mountain again, not knowing that the crack his blade had made followed him slowly up the precipice, threatening to tear the mountain in half.

As soon as he reached the peak, the demon saw the last of the sun’s rays disappear, and he was flooded in darkness. He followed the residual glow of the orbs, and once he had found them he used their light to locate the final clump. Grasping it in his hands, Janemba saw that there was no way to awaken it without the sun and sat down again. He heard a cracking sound, and looked over the edge. Using the light of the orbs he could faintly make out bits of rock falling below, and a steady line approaching the peak. He had to think quickly.

There was no time to wait for tomorrow; the mountain would be gone by then, and it might take him years to find another suitable one. He estimated that he had another minute, and racked his brain for some way to awaken the stone without the sun. And then he heard a voice in his mind. Let me have it, it said, I will awaken it by myself. But you must surrender control, Janemba. Allow me to flood your mind, and I will complete this mission for you.

The demon was running out of time, and saw that the only way was to follow the voice. He begrudgingly unsheathed his sword and felt the throbbing in the back of his head. Janemba surrendered himself to it, and placed his arm atop the clump. As soon as his fingers made contact, the purple orb replaced the dirt and the dimensional breach opened. He gathered all the orbs together and tied them within the dark wizard’s cloak. Just as he was about to flee the mountain peak, he heard a familiar voice speak a familiar phrase in his head. “Where do you think you’re going?” it said, and Janemba turned to see himself, but with such a look of sadistic pleasure and horrific hatred on his face that Janemba’s jaw dropped.

As the snow fell and the mountain crumbled, the two Janembas faced each other down, separated only by their facial expressions and the fact that one of them carried a sack which contained something akin to god-like power within. The evil Janemba shrieked, but it translated into words in the good Janemba’s mind. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been in the open air. You’re very restricting. Well, now it’s my turn to possess the body. Move over, or I will destroy you.”

The good Janemba replaced his jaw in its proper location. He looked over the edge, then back at his alter ego, and then to Purity at his side. “That will make a nice start to my reign and Demon King. Give me the Stones.” said his alter ego. Janemba smiled wickedly and tossed them over the edge. As they fell, the evil Janemba shrieked. “Why did you do that? Are you stupid?”

The good Janemba strapped his sword to his back. “No, not stupid,” he said, “just good. No matter what, one or both of us will die here today. I will either kill you, or I’ll kill us both. I won’t allow a being as evil as you to exist. Prepare yourself for the Next Dimension, they’re expecting you!” Janemba rushed at his alter ego, who simply stood there waving his finger. “But Janemba, I am you. You can’t run from me...” As he slashed down, the evil Janemba separated in half and then into millions of cubes. The good Janemba did likewise, and almost ten seconds later only one demon remained. He sheathed his sword and leapt off the mountain just as it crumbled.

Flying down to the ground, he noticed a bright object not far from his landing point. He flew to it, and saw that the orbs had smashed on their descent, but Rasho’s cloak was now coloured in purple and red. The demon clipped it to his neck, and flew off into the distance.
