Breath in, exhale slowly... Spopovich released himself from the pose of his Kata, letting his left foot touch the ground for the first time in hours. He stood outside a Dojo that was suggested to him by a wandering traveler. Allegedly, this Master was once a friend and rival to Master Roshi before they had a terrible falling out... when he asked Roshi about it the old man simply looked sad. Master Shen was the owner of the Crane Dojo which taught its student of the Crane school, which was a style similar but rival to the Turtle School. From what he had heard of Master Shen, he was a dirty cheater and fought dirty but was still very respected. It had seemed right up Spopovich's alley. So he came here to train from the old Crane Hermit, and had been here about a week so far. It was going surprising well... although the Crane school relied on precision and speed more then brute strength as Spopovich was acustomed. Still, it was a welcome change from all the running and weight training Master Roshi made him do. And, although Master Shen was conniving and had that look about him that you wouldn't trust even if you didn't know his reputation, it was still a nice difference from the usual demeanor of the Turtle Hermit. But he did miss it and would soon go back, so there was no worry. With a definite urge of willpower, he re assumed his Kata. He wasn't done for the day. Unlike Roshi, Shen had many students and you had to work to get his attention. Spopovich didn't know if it was worth it, but had sworn to train his hardest and learn anything he could. He didn't want to think he all powerful and get overconfident again. Not after last time. |

Spopovich had traveled with a Dojo Destroyer once before and had helped him a couple of times. It was pretty good fun beating those overconfident teachers in front of their students and taking their signs, but they never killed anyone. So, after reading a couple of the lines of the bounty, he knew what this was about. Someone was doing it around here, only they were killing the Masters. They had put a bounty on this mans head. And it went on to say he was heading in this direction. "Ahh.. what is this then?" Master Shen said, his old head appearing like the animal he represented from around the corner. Not waiting for a response, he walked over to view that which had been posted on his Dojo. "No matter, let him come..." The teacher said haughty, "I can surely take him!" Spopovich wasn't so sure. He had been fighting mostly punks, mercenaries, robots, and devils these last couple of days, but he knew... There were people out there who used weapons and machines to better themselves, but he knew... He knew some people out there had great and terrible powers. Like those freaks... He flinched away at the memory. Those people. Whoever they were.... from behind his memories, from the time that he died. He wondered not for the first time if he would ever be as powerful as them. They were amazing martial artists, so amazing they could bend the fabric of reality to their whims seemingly. Impossible things. And he thought flying was impossible, but this Master Shen had been teaching it for nearly... he didn't even know how much longer then Spopovich had even known about it. What then were other martial arts secrets just waiting to be discovered and used by him? That were already being used against him? He wondered. |

Spopovich considered what this man could be capable of darkly, and decided to investigate a work which he had already done. The pickup had moved too slowly for him, so he flew instead, bolstered by others doing it regularly, and touched down in the yard of the Dojo, beyond the police tape. There were chalk marks of bodies everywhere. It seems he kills anyone who tries to help the Master as well. Master Smiling Mountain lived here... he had trained with him once. A powerfully built man of good nature who always had a smile on. A man who taught of the Bear School and favored power, much like Spopovich. The Slavic Warrior had rather liked him when he was here, but his mind was clouded with gaining more power then. It was just empty and numb these days, gaining more power not as a means to an end but because he didn't know what else to do. It seemed this man had used some sort of energy weapon... no, that was a rookie mistake the cops would make. He knew the truth. This man was capable of energy attacks. He had a high Ki level indeed. Maybe higher then even his? He hadn't met someone he couldn't easily beat since escaping hell. He had reached the mark that indicated Master Smiling Mountain while he was thinking. He frowned at the spot. It seemed in the end the mysterious foe had gotten inside his defenses and hit a Dim-Mak... a terrible, evil, and shameful way to end a fight. Spopovich didn't know what he could gather from the aftermath of the battle, but he knew this person fought dirty, and he was pissed off. That was enough. The insignia painted over all of the Bear School insignia's read 'Akuma' or 'Devil'. He would remember that name. |

Spopovich had to get some training in before facing this guy. He didn't know what he would be facing, but he knew that this Akuma was coming to the Crane School next. Possibly soon. Outside the Crane Dojo, he punched the spar and sparred with six of Master Shen's students at once, and sometimes the Master himself. "Spopovich, why are you working so hard? You're the most powerful student I've ever had... better then the traitorous Tien, even. But not more powerful then me." Master Shen said, stroking his chin. "Yeah, we can find out any time, bud." Spopovich chuckled darkly, clenching his fist. He had done some 'roids this morning, it was still getting to him, clouding his judgment. But he needed any edge he could get. He resisted punching Master Shen in his smug little face, and simply challenged him to another spar which Spopovich won again. But being a master wasn't about being the best always, it was about knowing the best way to train. "Well, erm, yes... I'm simply letting you win to advance your training..." Master Shen would always say after losing. Yeah, right. But still, he kind of liked him. He didn't admit defeat, like Spopovich. And Spopovich wouldn't let him die. "Akuma.." He muttered, punching the training dummy before him. "As I have been called, so have I been summoned." A dark timbered voice said behind him. Spopovich turned slowly to find a muscled warrior clad in a blood red karate gi, his insignia read 'Devil'. "Are you the Master of this school? I can sense your Ki is the highest for miles around." "Nah... Master Shen isn't in right now. Can I take a message?" Spopovich said smugly, taking his traditional battle stance. The warriors eyes narrowed. "You can tell him that he is unworthy of life. Unworthy of training and being so weak. You can tell him this... with your corpse." Akuma continued, suddenly vanishing. |

Spopovich felt a piercing pain at the base of his back, and he heard the dark barotone voice from behind him. "Down in one move... disappointing." "No.. I will.." Spopovich gasped out, his vision already fading. Master Shen and several of the students had appeared to see what the commotion was about. Seeing, several of the students moved in front of Shen. Spopovich wanted to tell them they'd only die like him, but he couldn't form the words. "You will die." Akuma responded, taking his hand back from the point of death on Spopovich's body and walking towards Shen. And it was such a nice crowd too... "No, I will rip off your fucking head and shove it up your ass, and thats just for starters!" The burly fighter said, struggling to get back to his feet. His vision was foggy, but his determination was outstanding. "You could not hope to best me before, you will fail now as you did a moment ago." Akuma said in a cool and collected voice, calmly taking a stance and gesturing Spopovich on. "Wolf Fang Fist!" The Slavic Powerhouse yelled, the wolf howling in his mind, charging at the devil himself. The punch was- was caught! Akuma had caught his punch before it could strike and was now twisting his wrist back causing him to fall to his knees. The crowd gasped. The hero wasn't supposed to lose... but then again, you weren't very much the hero were you? Akuma lifted Spopovich up by the wrist, causing him great pain and held him up to eye level to himself. Then he pulled back his other fist and it began to glow with a dark purple energy. "Gou Shoryuken!" He yelled, striking Spopovich with a powerfully hard uppercut that launched both of them into the sky. Spopovich landed with a splash in the pool in front of the dojo. |

"Now, onto those that are unworthy to call themselves fighters." Akuma said, turning to face the gathered students and Shen after landing. He advanced on them quickly. "No, please... I beg of you!" Master Shen said, alternating between backing up and assuming a battle stance. Shen was no fool, if this man could defeat the much more powerful Spopovich so easily... "Worthless." Akuma responded, his aura appearing around him in a blaze. "This is what a real fighter looks like. A true master of martial arts. Let it burn into your hearts and minds and keep the sight of it in your eyes- the last thing you'll see before you die." He continued, cold and distant. Some of the students were running now. A couple of energy blasts and they were dead. "You're really starting to piss me off!" Spopovich yelled, jumping from the lake and landing hard, his eyes bulging, his pulse racing. He ran at Akuma, surprising the unflappable warrior with still being alive. They traded several quick blows, the weaker Spopovich able to maintain with Akuma due to surprise and pure aggression alone, making reckless attacks that were actually connecting. "Now, lets see who dies, and tell me where you want to be buried so I can piss on your grave." Spopovich spat, connecting with Akuma's jaw and sending the other warrior sprawling. Akuma didn't hit the ground, but leap in mid-air and came back down in a fighting pose. He was already charging something. "Gou Hadouken!" He yelled, sending a fireball of darkness hurling towards Spopovich. The burly fighter was still very weak and injuried, so he looked on knowing he couldn't dodge it in time. "Master technique of the Crane School, my boy!" Shen yelled out in support. He had never been very good at energy attacks, but maybe now... With a last effort he stood against the blast, knocking it to the side with his fist, and pointing his finger at Akuma. "See you later, sucker! Dodonpa!" The huge ball of darkness having obscured Akuma's vision, he was shocked when Spopovich appeared and blasted him. He took the blast full in the gut, and it sent him flying into the air and away. The day had been, seemingly, won. Praises all around. _ Later on, Spopovich had assisted Shen in cleaning up and bid adieu to his new friends there, collecting the reward on the Dojo Killer's head. He had apparently moved on. It had been though the skin of his teeth had he won. Surprise alone... Master Shen had assured him that he could win again, but he knew the truth. Akuma was still out there. And he would find him. Akuma had a new target. |
