Enzeru had been walking for what she felt was ages. It had been several years since she had left the camp of her comrades. Her faithful dirt bike had run its last mile and so had she. The man who had ruined her beloved pyramids was no where to be found now. Sure Enzeru had found a guy that could have been him several times but she was never able to get close enough for a chat. Lousy world tournament staff.

She brushed back her faded hair and tied it up best she could. Strands fell down in her eyes and she pushed them to the side. Maybe now she would be able to see if there was a town nearby. Enzeru’s feet were tired, it had been several hours since her last stop in the little town in the hills. The people there were very kind and directed her this way on her quest.

Enzeru stopped for a moment and sat down. She was far enough off from the road to look as if she were native to this region. She hated it when people stopped and asked her if she needed a ride, it gave her the feeling someone was playing a cruel joke on her. She removed her shoes and placed them aside. If anyone asked she would tell them she felt there were rocks in them because her feet were hurting.

Much better. Enzeru thought and smiled as she massaged her sore feet. Now where is that town?

She looked left and seen a lightly wooded area. Certainly they had not meant her to trek through that. Enzeru looked to her right and saw open land for miles with a farm house dotting the landscape here or there. The best bet lay before her. There was a nice mix of trees and open areas. It was harder to see into the distance because of the trees but at least she would be able to travel on without any fear of stepping in something an animal left behind.

After she had rested for a few minutes Enzeru put her shoes back on and began walking again. She would have to get to the town soon or she would be sleeping under the stars. She was not fond of that idea, it was harder to do her morning exercises when she was stiff in the back.

Before she could take another step on her path to the next town Enzeru’s ears caught the sound of mooing in the forest. For a moment she was not sure if she was hearing right and tilted her head to the side to listen. Once again she heard the faint sound of mooing.

Certainly the farmer will take care of it. She thought and took a step forward.

About that time a round little man stumbled out of the woods. He looked around a moment and his already apparent frown deepened. He approached Enzeru quickly, “You wouldn’t happen to have a man with you, would you?”

Enzeru raised an eyebrow, “Why would I?”

“I don’t know but my cow wandered into the forest and it’s kinda creepy in there, could you help me get her out of there? I know you’re just a woman, but I’m desperate.” The round man wiped a bead of sweat off his forehead and breathed deep.

“If it will change your terrible view of women, sure I’ll help you,” Enzeru replied with a slight smile.

“Thank you miss,” The man shooed Enzeru into the woods.

What an odd, and insulting, little man. She turned back to see him waving and grinning.

The woods were oddly quiet. No birds were singing and no small animals were scrambling about on the forest floor. Not so much as a bug was to be seen here.

Something is wrong. Maybe it’s the fact a cow is here rather than in a field.

Enzeru walked into the forest and listened for the cow. Off to her right she heard the tell tale mooing sound. She proceeded with caution, making certain to check every direction for surprises. A cricket chirped and she jumped.

At least there are bugs here.

Again came the sound of mooing. It was closer, as if it were just around the next tree.

Enzeru walked around the next tree and there was the cow. Some how the beast had gotten its foot trapped in a vine.

“Hi there, looks like you are in a bit of a mess. Stand still and I’ll help you,” Enzeru spoke as if cows could understand humans. Silly idea, but it could do no harm.

The cow mooed and stared at her, slowly blinking its big brown eyes.

“Don’t you kick me now,” Enzeru chided before she bent down and untangled the brambles.
The cow, realizing it was free, ran out of the forest very quickly. Obviously the farmer would get quite a surprise when he saw the beast speeding out at him.

Enzeru laughed and jogged out after the cow. Once she reached the farmer she had another good laugh.

“What’s so funny, woman?” The grumpy and disheveled farmer asked.

“The cow was just a little tangled in some vines. She didn’t seem to like the forest, you might want to keep her away from there,” Enzeru’s voice was jolly and not in the least stern. How could she be when the man was such a mess.

“Fine, as part of our agreement I admit that you’re alright. Not all women are cowards. Happy?”

“Close enough,” Enzeru finally quit laughing and sighed a little, “I have to get going now. Take care of your cow, she seems smart for a farm beast.”

And you’re stubborn. She wanted to add but refrained.

“Bah, get out of here,” The farmer waved her off. He was still grumpy and was now trying to herd a stubborn cow back to the farm.

Enzeru continued her journey until she came upon the next town, surely someone here will have heard about the green man.

"Here. This is yours. I think. Peking Duck? One second. Here you go." Came a youthful voice from a small restaurant near the edge of the town. The restaurant was a quiet and quaint building, obviously very old by its stonework design with deep brown shutters and creeping vines working their way up its side.

While there was obviously many tables inside, there was also several located outside the building in the fresh air and overlooking a nearby pond where several carp swam about, the scent of fresh flowers still in the air from their recent blooming in the garden.

Outside the building a very short person was carrying around three large platters with food atop them. One in each hand and balancing the other on his head carefully. He was dressed in a Chinese styled shirt with full apron on over the front and a small black hat over his head. His face was pale white save for two full round red cheeks.

He hardly seemed old enough to be working, but he seemed content enough. Even for himself it was hard to remember exactly what chain of events had brought him to this particular city... He had found himself drifting ever since he had left his home, constantly on the road and looking towards the distant horizon with no true goal in mind.

When he came here however, the town had suddenly taken a hold of his heart. The people, the atmosphere... It was as if he had finally felt a place he was content to settle down and enjoy life. Of course, there was challenges even to settling down... Namely trying to find a job that would hire him. So far, this small restaurant had been all he could find... But he found waiting on tables 'difficult'.

His height barely reached the top of the tables, but still he seemed to be able to manage to get around well enough to place the proper orders on the tables. At least until a misstep suddenly caused him to lose his balance, eyes widening as he began to stumble back and a large bowl of ramen noodles atop his head began to tip back and back as he fell back towards the street.

Enzeru entered the city limits. This town was really, for lack of a better word, adorable. It was like something out of a magazine. The people all seemed happy and no one looked to be in any particular hurry. A couple of the locals even smiled and waved.

I could get used to this.

Her stomach rumbled a little. Enzeru had forgotten when she ate last, was it five, six hours ago? No matter, this looked liked the perfect town to stop for a bite in.

Enzeru spotted a quaint dive up the road and smiled. It looked like the perfect spot to get some noodles. She approached the building but before she could get close a kid stumbled out of the door.

Enzeru tilted her head to the side and hurried over. This kid seemed to be dressed like he worked here or something. Why would a kid work in a place like this.

“Are you alright?” She asked, her face full of concern.

The bowl tipped and slid back on the platter as he stumbled, his entire body trying to shift in response to the food to keep it from falling back, however the sudden shift of his body didn't exactly agree with his center of gravity as his eyes widened and arms flailed in quick spinning circles in an attempt to try and right his balance.

Sadly, there would be little luck in this as his body finally lost the fight with gravity and sweat dropped before falling with a loud clattering of empty trays and the sight of the bowl, hovering in air for a few seconds before falling and tilting just enough to spill across his head... The bowl having been large and easily covering his head and hat now topped with ramen styled hair and body soaked.

“Are you alright?” he heard the voice as he reached up to push the front of the bowl up enough for him to look up. Several of the other patrons had also stood to make certain he was okay from his fall, though whoever this was had gotten there first.

"Y-yeah. I'm okay." He piped up in a small voice as he stood shakily and pulled the bowl off, the ramen falling around him although the spiraled fish sausage clung to his forehead and the steam still lightly rose into the air.

"I'm sorry about you're ramen... I'll get you another bowl." He apologized to the person who ordered, and sighed before glancing up at the woman who had approached him.

"I'm sorry, were you coming in to order? I’ll try to clean this up so you won't step in it." He said apologetically, his pale face blushing deeply in shame at the humiliating moment, one hand holding onto the bowl and other hand rubbing the back of his head.

“Oh, don’t worry about it,” Enzeru said with a kind smile. “Even the best loose balance once in a while, it’s what keeps life interesting.”

She held out her hand to help him up and thought a moment.

Why is a kid working in a place like this? She wanted to ask, but decided it would be rude. After all, he might think he was grown up, after all, he did act very mature for such a small boy.

Enzeru had seen no other kids working since she got here. Perhaps he was an orphan. Most of the other kids she saw were with an adult. She kept her smile despite the sad thought that such a nice boy would have no parents.

“What kind of food do they server here, besides noodles, of course?” She asked, trying to keep in conversation.

"I still should have waited and made two trips, thanks though. I always seem to make these kinds of mistakes, trying to get everything done a bit too quick and get everyone their dish as soon as I can. But usually I can keep my balance pretty well! Honestly! I just.... misstepped." He said, for some reason feeling like he had to defend his accident when she tried to say it was normal to have them. Maybe it was a point of personal pride.

When she asked about the food, he perked up and looked around for a table where he could seat her, before looking down and blushing as he took note that he was still soaked with juice from the noodles.

"Why don't you take a seat?" He asked the woman before he went to get something to clean up the mess with, having to take a bit before returning with at least a new apron, even though he was still a bit soaked from the noodles.

"This place has a lot of great food... The spring rolls are very delicious." He told her as he tried to clean up the floor before anyone slipped on the mess he had created. It was a bit humiliating to have such an accident, it was unprofessional and poorly timed as he was already on thin ice from similar accidents he had been having since he had gotten this job.

"So... um... What brings you here? I don't think I remember seeing you around, Miss..." He trailed off a bit when he said that, fidgeting with the mop as his head was bowed embarrassedly. She seemed like a very kind person, by the way she was worried, of course others were too... but it’s one thing when you’re a patron sitting and someone slips next to you, and you're apparently someone passing by.

“Please, Miss is my mother. Call me Enzeru. Sorry if I offended you, I always try to be wise and say the wrong thing.” She paused a moment before continuing on, “I’m passing through town. Someone told me that a man with green skin was spotted here and I need to find him. He, well, he made a mess of my old job and I feel the need to confront him.”

How could I explain it to a kid, let’s see…

“He broke the pyramids and I was trying to study the writing on the walls inside.”

That sounds good enough.

“So, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you come to be working here?” Enzeru was very careful with how she worded this, she didn’t want to upset the boy or anger him, she was simply curious.

Enzeru took a seat at a table near where the boy was cleaning. She was hoping for a story.

"Green... Skin?" He asked, raising an eyebrow curiously before his face turned a bit blue as he immediately turned around to busy himself with mopping, making quick circles along the ground before dunking the mop head back into the water in the rolling contained. "Haven't seen anybody like that around here. Nope. And I’ve been here a while." He said quickly and as innocently as he could, laughing and smiling.

"Me? How did I come here? Well... Um. It's kind of a funny story. I just kind of... stopped here." He said with a bit of a sheepish smile as he glanced back towards her.

"I've been on a long journey far from my home. I thought I’d get to see the world, experience new things, become strong... And at first it was really fun! Then... Well... I got broke." He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head and smiling a bit embarrassedly.

"So, around that time I came here... This place is really nice, and I got a job and a temporary place to live. Though lately I seem to have trouble holding down any job for too long. I guess I’m just getting a bit antsy to get back on the road again. But after last time, I’m a bit nervous to head out without planning..." As he said this he kept a grip on the mop and let his mind wander back.

He had enjoyed being on the road, but there were so many hardships involved. He shivered as he recalled camping out alone at night as the wolves howled, watching evil eyes glinting at him from the shadows as he huddled close to a fire. How bandits tried to waylay him on the roads and he only scarcely fought them back or ran away... Or even one particular experience where he had even run into what seemed like a dinosaur!

"So... you studied pyramid writing?" He asked her, blinking widely and curiously as he recalled what she had stated earlier.

"Yes, I was the leader of a big group of people who did. Several years ago they pyramids were somehow destroyed and one of the guys in my group said the man had green skin. I think he drew a picture of him but I can't seem to find it right now." Enzeru patted her pockets a moment and then shrugged, "Oh well, maybe I'll find it after I relax a bit."

She thought a moment about what the boy had said and made a decision.

Maybe I can help him get home to his parents. I'm sure they're worried about him being on his own for so long.

"You know, if you want to get back out into the world and travel again maybe you could go with me. It seems I have a long and difficult search still ahead and could always use the help. I mean, one man is hard enough to find without this being the age of space travel." Enzeru laughed a little.

"And if you wanted to go home and see your family I could always help you get there." Enzeru tensed up, hoping this would not be a hot button topic. She knew that talk of family always made her emotional to some extreme. After all, she had never known her father and her mother had died.

"Sometimes that’s how it goes. You only find what you're looking for after you stop looking for it... I mean, who knows how many green skinned people there are in this world. Or people who just paint their skin green." Chaozu offered helpfully as he tilted his head to the side and blinked widely.

"Well this is a nice place to rest. A lot of people nice, the food here is really good." He then said with a wide and warm smile, which was one thing he knew about this particular place to eat, was that the food was wonderful, particularly since the recipes had been passed down through the owner’s family for quite a few generations.

His attention was then caught when she talked about traveling again. His hands gripping onto the mop a bit firmly as he let his eyes space out a bit, thinking about travelling again... Still not a pleasant thought. However, maybe travelling with somebody else would be a little more bearable, at least then he would have somebody to talk to and he wouldn't have to keep watching his own back and worrying about somebody or something sneaking up on him.

However... People in this town had been so kind to him. Granted, the small room he rented out was kind of cramped, even though for someone his size it fit fairly well, and his past few bosses had been a bit crabby. But who could blame them? But could he really just pack up again and hit the road? The mention of his family immediately changed his frame of mind.

"Well... I'm not really looking to go home yet. I want to wait till I become strong and can make my family proud. I want to be the type of person who people would be proud to call their son." He said, nodding a bit firmly as if to emphasize the strength of his statement.

"Thank you for your offer. But I don't know if I can leave. I mean, I just got this new job... And --" He trailed off when he was interrupted.

"CHAOZU!" A loud voice bellowed out that seemed to shake the windows as a tall old woman with a severe bun and deep frightening wrinkles came up. "Did you spill another order!?"

"M-M-M-M-M-Miss! Sorry! Yes Miss!" Chaozu yelped as he immediately shouldered the mop like a gun and spun about to salute nervously. As he did so, there was the sound of a loud wet 'Slap' as the wet part of the mop smacked a random eater in the face.

"AHHH!! I'm so sorry! I’m sorry!" Chaozu apologized with wide panicked eyes as he turned towards the poor patron, only to illicit another loud SLAP, this time however the damp mop strings now dripped across the old woman’s face, which was twitching angrily.

"Ahh..." He eeped, backing up a bit nervously.

"YOU'RE FIRED!" She bellowed, practically knocking off Chaozus cap if his hands didn't snap up to hold it on, his eyes clenching as he winced at the sound and felt her snapping away the apron and grabbing the mop before he hit anyone else in the face with it and began to storm off.

He stood there, a bit shocked for several long moments.

"So... um... When do we head off, Miss Enzeru?"

Enzeru watched the whole scene play out with one hand over her mouth and her eyes wide with surprise. When it was all over she smiled and sighed.

"All things happen for a reason. How about I get some spring rolls to go and I help you get packed up?"

Poor kid, well, at least he's got me here now.

"You don't need to call me 'miss', I don't like formal titles, just call me Enzeru."

She stood up and quickly ordered at the counter. Being as hungry as she was, she ordered a couple dozen. After all, even though she was hungry she had to watch her figure. Enzeru also asked if a green skinned man had been in, and was still unable to find the drawing. The woman behind the counter looked at her as if she were crazy but took her order anyway.

In a few moments it was out and they could be on their way.

"Lead on my young friend," Enzeru said before digging into some spring rolls. "Oh, how rude of me, do you want some?"

"Uh... Right. Enzeru. I'm Chaozu." He said with a warm smile up towards her and nodded in response to her statement.

As she went to get the spring rolls he turned to once again apologize to the patron that he had slapped with the wet mop as well as the one who had ordered the bowl of ramen that he had dropped. Well, at least he wouldn't have to worry about making any more mistakes like he had been, or worried constantly about losing his job.

Fortunately he had saved up a pretty good bit already, so he wouldn't have to worry too much about money on the trip, and wouldn't have to be concerned about having to rely on Miss Enzeru too much financially.

He got himself a towel to begin and clean himself up a bit more thoroughly, dabbing off his shirt and pants to try and help them dry off more as well as removing his cap for a bit to pat his head dry and plop it back on.

When she returned he smiled and nodded before turning to make his way towards the house where he rented out the small room. As she offered the spring rolls he smiled and nodded. "Sure! Like I said, that place has wonderful spring rolls!"

After munching on a few, they arrived at the house. Fairly normal looking house, with a very kind couple that lived in it.

Politely, Chaozu explained that he was going to be going back on the road so would need to pack up his things. He paid them, with a little bonus in thanks for how kind they had been to him through the entire experience of coming to live in the strange town and went into the house.

It would only take a few minutes before he came out with a large backpack that took up his entire back and stuck out a bit to all sides, obviously well packed. He had also changed into a new set of clean clothes. He smiled and nodded. "Alright, this should be everything Miss Enzeru. I mean, Enzeru. Sorry." He said, blushing.

“Nice to meet you Chaozu. Well, I already told you what I’m doing and why.” Enzeru took a big bite out of another spring roll.

My journey will be more fun with him here. After all, who wants to travel alone anyway?

“Wow, you were not kidding about these spring rolls.” Enzeru finished off the spring roll and moved on to the next.

When they arrived at the house Enzeru looked down at her feet and laughed a little, “My shoes are a bit messy. I’ll wait out here.”

She watched her young friend enter the house and then took a seat out front.

These people were very nice to have taken such good care of him all this time. They probably were aware he wanted to be independent and seek out his own path and that’s probably the only reason they had him pay rent.

When Chaozu returned Enzeru stood up. She immediately took notice of the size of the bag and decided this was no ordinary kid.

“Wow, such a large pack for such a small boy. You must be stronger than average to carry something like that.”

Enzeru laughed when Chaozu called her miss again, this time accidentally.

“I see now why you called me miss. You’re just super polite, I guess I don’t appear old at all.”

Enzeru laughed a little more before looking around for the best road to travel. She frowned and then looked at all the people here. Surely one of them would know where the green skinned man went.

“I’m going to search my stuff again real fast for the drawing. Shouldn’t take long.”

Enzeru sat down on the sidewalk and began emptying her pockets. The people around her paid no mind. She pulled out a stack of papers, “I hope I didn’t leave it back at the site.”

She searched all her pockets and her small pack before giving up. Enzeru sighed, “Is there a payphone around here anywhere?”

Chaozu blushed deeply and laughed embarrassedly as he reached back to rub the back of his head when she commented about the size of his pack. "Well... I just don't want to be unprepared. I mean, it's not like you can just go wandering with just the clothes on your back.

There are changes of clothes to bring, non-perishable foods, cooking utensils, a tent for if it rains or snows, emergency medical kits, ropes and twine, and loads of other essentials." He said, listing off each item as he counted them out on his fingers, gazing up wide eyed. "So, when it all comes down to it... This pack is probably lighter than it should be, but I don't really have time to completely stock up."

He then blinked, watching as she sat down to look for the picture of the man she was trying to seek out. He hummed and scratched his cheek thoughtfully.

"A payphone? I don't know... There might be one nearby, but I don't recall ever seeing one." He said, his head tilting slightly to the side as it was obvious he was trying to remember if there were any nearby.

Truth is, while he had been in this town for a good while now, he hadn't really given much thought to exploring or getting to know the ins and outs of everything, at least not to the point that he could remember the locations of things right from memory. In a way, that was kind of an embarrassment. He felt that by now he should have known where everything is.

“Um… Are there any other distinguishing features about this man you’re looking for? Like a scar, or a tattoo or maybe a funny way of talking? “ He asked, trying to find out a little bit more about this man.

Enzeru thought about it for a moment and twirled her hair, "Now that you mention it, he had pointy ears, a cape, and could fly. I know it sounds silly." She laughed a little.

"I know, it's not too helpful. That's why I really need that picture. If I could only find a phone," Enzeru looked around frantically as if time was slipping by more quickly than a man trying to skip out on the check after a bad date.

She tapped a random passerby on the shoulder, "Excuse me, is there a pay phone around here?"

The young woman laughed and shook her head no. Enzeru moved on to the next person and the next until finally a child pointed her to a convenience store. Enzeru hurried over and picked up the phone. Yes, there was a dial tone. She quickly dialed a number, muttering it under her breath so she could remember it.

It rang once, twice, three times before someone picked it up.

"Pyramid excavation site, this is Lisa."

"Lisa, did I leave that picture behind last time I was there?" Enzeru asked, the relief in her voice as well as a bit of urgency was present.

"Yeah, I'm looking at it right now. Why?"

Enzeru hit herself in the head with the palm of her hand, "I need it. It was the whole reason I began this silly journey."

"Oh, well, I'll hold it for you until you get back."

"Thanks, I'll try to hurry. Better yet, put it in the safe box. I'm going now, bye."

"Okay, bye."

Enzeru hung up the phone and looked over at Chaozu, "Have you ever been to the desert?"

She was happy she would be going to the place she considered home. Enzeru had not been to the desert in at least three months. The dry air might do her some good.

"Desert?" Chaozu asked before humming as he thought, he had heard about them of course, about all the sand and the pyramids and the oasis’s', but in his short time of travel he could never actually say he had ever travelled TO a desert.

"No, never. I guess we're going back to where you worked for that picture then?" He asked with a smile. He didn't care where they travelled to; he had no particular destination in mind himself... He just wanted to see the whole wide world one bit at a time while simultaneously making himself the strongest person he could be. So if a little side trip to Egypt was up, he was entirely excited to go.

"What kind of things do you have there? Will I get to see camels and mummies?" He asked, wondering if he should maybe pick up a map from the convenience store to make sure they didn’t get lost walking. Then again, could they walk all the way to the desert? How far was it? Maybe they could take some form of plane or bus, and then it wouldn't be too much trouble, just tell them where to go and enjoy the ride... But then again, would travel like that help make him a stronger person?

"You said the man could fly? Like, with a jet pack? Or did he have wings or something?" He asked Enzeru innocently. In his mind he pictured a goblin-like character with an evil cackling face, big pointed ears like a bat and flying around smashing pyramids by kicking them with his feet… At the thought, he trembled, his face going a bit blue in fear at the thought of such a surreal and fearful looking creature. And she was WILLINGLY looking for this man? Why? Still, he tried not to show his fear, for fear that Miss Enzeru might think worse of him.

“Well, all the mummies we found were sent off to a museum. We could stop by there after we get the picture. As for camels, well, we might have to ride one seeing as how I no longer have a dirt bike.” Enzeru smiled, “The weather is always warm in the day and cool at night.”

Enzeru remembered how she would work all day either filing papers in her office tent or down in the tunnels of the pyramids taking note of the hieroglyphics and different rooms. Then at night she would return to her tent and snuggle up in a warm blanket with some tea while she read her mother’s old journals.

“We should probably take the bus, it is better than traveling on foot, much faster even.” Enzeru smiled, “Then again what fun would that be? The bus is smelly anyway.”

“I bet you’re wondering why I carry such a small pack. Well, one reason is to keep me on my toes. If I’m less prepared there will be more to overcome and hence I’ll become stronger. I bet you can’t tell my looking at me that I enjoy martial arts. Anyway, if things get uncomfortable or if I get tired of living rustic I have some capsules on hand.” Enzeru laughed a little.

Enzeru frowned, “No, he didn’t have any kind of device or wings. Maybe it was the cape that helped him fly. Anyway, he doesn’t look as scary as my description sounds. He’s almost, well, never mind that.” She laughed a little and blushed.

“All the same he has taken from me the greatest joy I’ve ever felt and I am intent on confronting him. Whatever happens when I am face to face with him just happens.” Enzeru shook her head, “I’m not as mad as I was when I began my journey and in fact now that I have decoded some more of the hieroglyphics I am in a way glad he did what he did. He may have saved me from being cursed.” Enzeru looked into the distance, her expression was almost peaceful.

"Well... However we get there, I’m certain I’ll enjoy our destination!" He said cheerfully as he nodded. Whether they walked or took the bus, he would still at least get to see the countryside and new people. In a way, it was a new adventure, and one he would take great joy in experiencing.

He then listened and smiled, laughing. "Yeah, I should carry more Hoi poi capsules around... But I try to save my money, and carrying these bags makes me feel more like I’m 'roughing it'. It’s like... Biking vs. riding an exercise bike. They both are the same, but one feels more real." Of course it probably didn't make any difference either way, he could probably carry allot more with the capsule corp. capsules, but it had honestly never occurred to him. Everyone used them nowadays anyway.

"A cape that made him fly? Hmmm, so maybe he was like some super villain? Intent on causing destruction across the globe or something..." He murmured, but without seeing the man himself he doubted he could really understand what kind of person she was talking about.

"... Oh, I'm sorry to hear. But at least you did learn something because of it, like you said." He said, trying to remain cheery. He actually felt he was rather lucky, h e didn't have some dark past or background. No one in his family had been murdered, his life’s work had never been destroyed, not even so much as him becoming a humiliation at his home ever occurred. He just began journeying to make his family proud, and that was all it took for him.

“Do you think you could show me around the places you worked when we get there? I’d love to see what happened to some of those ancient civilizations, or even be part of one of those excavation sites I heard about.”

“We certainly will enjoy it. The people in the desert are really nice.” Enzeru smiled and then frowned. The desert was certainly nice but there was a small problem.

“But lately the archeological society has been selling our finds and plots to Capsule Corp. I’m worried they might damage some great artifacts with their digging.” Enzeru sighed and waved it off.

“No sense worrying about it. What is done is done and all that’s left is the moving forward. And speaking of which let’s get going.” Enzeru began walking in the general direction of the desert. It would take a couple days to get there but it would be nice to see the sights.

Enzeru heard her young friend mumble something but dismissed it. Perhaps it was just a child like fancy, a daydream gone verbal. She occasionally did that herself.

“And experience is always worth it when you learn something new. You’d think I would have learned not to leave my camp but here I am out here on the road.” Enzeru laughed a little.

She thought a moment of all the places she had worked out in the desert. Most of them were run by Capsule Corp these days. The one she knew her people would hold on to was the site where the pyramid’s rubble remained. They were on to something big there and maybe the curse would be gone now that the building was crumbled.

“We might be able to go to some of the places I worked,” Enzeru was unsure how many of the sites were still part of the archeological society. She decided to change the subject.

“So you said something about getting stronger? Maybe we can train together some time. It might be fun to not have an old guy yammering on at you or trying to get enough weight out of nature to actually pose a challenge.” Enzeru laughed. The old guy was funny but he had a staring problem and made her wear stupid outfits.

"I would enjoy that. Most of my training I’ve done by myself, but I think I’ve done fairly well for myself." He said cheerily as he kept a firm grip on the straps of his backpack as he plodded along beside her, easily able to keep up despite his shorter legs. She knew the way to go, so he mostly followed the direction she headed in and kept himself more focused on their surroundings, although most of the local countryside he had already seen himself.

Then she began to tell him about how Capsule Corp had acquired the rights to the sites she worked at. "I guess they're getting their hands in allot of things nowadays... I guess once you get allot of money and pretty much take control of one business, it pays to invest in other places that don't necessarily apply to the other." He commented. Capsule Corp was the geniuses behind the hoi poi capsules, many vehicles, but they also had their own clothing line, and even sodas... It seemed almost frightening about how widespread the company name had become.

Chaozu smiled though, he would enjoy seeing the excavation sites, even if Capsule Corp owned them. Who knows, maybe because Miss Enzeru had worked at them previously, she might be allowed in... Chaozu didn't entirely understand how all of that stuff worked, what with rules and regulations, but it made sense to him.

He smiled widely and cheerfully, almost humming to himself as he marched along beside Enzeru as they walked. The countryside was always beautiful this time of year, with the trees a rich beautiful hue and the grass swaying and glimmering in the sun like a heavy sea of green with the smell of flowers in the air. Even the sight of butterflies dancing about in the breeze was almost a calming sight.

Of course, it would take several days to travel, which meant several nights as well, and when Chaozu noticed the sun getting low on the horizon, he reached up to tug at Enzerus pant leg.

"I think we should probably start setting up camp before it gets too dark, so we can find a safe place to sleep for the night." He commented, experience teaching him that being careful where to camp really was important, to stay off the main road while simultaneously finding a safe secluded clearing.

A beeping noise awoke Bebi as he sat there in shambles against a rock. His clothes had been torn, but still concealed most of his body. His black leather pants had been ripped in places which exposed wounds that were there on his flesh. His red muscle shirt was basically torn all the way off. His from his waist up was exposed and heavily beaten and scratched. He smirked at the condition he was in as he sat there against the rock in the middle of the desert.

“What’s this? They have decided to come still? In numbers again, as well…” Bebi muttered to himself as he referred to the two power levels that had activated his Built-in Scouter.

“Let them come…I still have quite the fight in me…” Bebi quietly said as he stood there in the setting sun on the desert floor.

The Tuffles heavy boots made their way through the sand as he started walking towards the two power levels. Normally it would have been wise to either let something pass by, or even let the target come to him with the sort of condition he was in. He was Bebi, though, and the fight that he was last in was still an echo in his mind. It irritated him at how the humans had rallied against him.

Bebi marched through the sand towards the two power levels. They were both considerably weak, but Bebi knew that enough of them could take even something like him. His plan was simply to displace the first two long before any others arrived to give assistance.

Bebi’s Ki Disruptor quickly kicked in completely hiding his power level from anybody who may have had the ability to sense or even a Scouter equipped. Chances were something that he didn’t want to take anymore. It was too risky now.

“Here…I…come…” Bebi muttered while walking towards the two power levels in his wounded state.

“Yeah, well, I hear the man that owns the company is very nice. They had an article about him in some magazine. They say he doesn’t do much more than invent more stuff anymore and that someone else is running things now.” Enzeru sighed, “Glad I’m just a customer. Big changes in power often are dangerous to the morale of employees. That’s why I started my group fresh when I first came out to the desert.”

It was lovely day to travel, though it was fast coming to an end. Enzeru looked around for a safe place to camp and found a nice wooded area with a clearing big enough to make camp.

Their journey went mostly in this way. Nice weather, good company, the occasional training session. It would not have went nearly this well if they had been on a bus. There would have been smelly people, crying babies, people talking loudly on cell phones, it would have been a mess.

When they reached the beginning of the desert Enzeru pointed slightly to the right. “That way and we will get there faster than if we followed the road.”

Enzeru led her young companion into the desert, “I certainly hope we have enough water. Thankfully there was stream back there and we could fill up. There will be no sign of people for miles.”

About the time she said this Enzeru spotted a man walking in their direction. He appeared to be injured. She gasped and yelled out, “Are you alright? Do you need medical attention?” She began jogging over to him, trying to seem as nonthreatening as she could. Sometimes the desert could play tricks on your mind if you were there for a long time.

Please don’t be about to die out here. The kid doesn’t need to see that. Enzeru thought as she got closer to the man. Close enough to see, he didn’t look very human.

The trip was far more enjoyable than any he had had in the past; he certainly could appreciate the advantage of travelling with a companion versus traveling alone now. In the past, when he wandered the countryside by himself he would find himself constant wondering if he was going the wrong direction, wondering if someone was following him, or just grow bored with no one to talk to or do anything with. However with Miss Enzeru he found himself more focused on just traveling and chatting and having a decently good time, fortunately he was still in excellent shape so was able to walk for long periods without needing rest.

By the time they had reached the desert, he had placed a wide brimmed straw hat over his head, and with his size the hat practically provided him shade over his entire body as he continued to walk by her side, amazed at how hot and bright the sun seemed here, was it the same sun that shined on them for the past few days?

"Well, maybe we'll run into an oasis or something before too long and we'll be able to top off before we get too low. But we should have allot in those capsules you brought, right?" He asked her curiously when she mentioned water; he shivered some at the thought of running out of water in such a dry and sandy country. Without any help, and so far from other water, it was a truly frightening prospect.

Then he noticed something in the distance.... Some strange man, slowly plodding towards the both of them. When Enzeru shouted out and began to make her way to him, Chaozu gulped and followed, but found him sticking a fair bit away and behind her. "M-Miss Enzeru... I have a very bad feeling about this." He said softly. "We don't even know who this guy is...."

Help…

That was a word that Bebi rarely ever heard. Yet the woman that approached him had asked that right away. She had even started to approach him as he stood there looking at the two targets that he had been walking towards. His eyes just gazed at the woman who was coming and then glanced over at the short child that was with her. It was a short and odd looking child.

“Medical attention?” Bebi asked as the woman was getting closer.

Bebi didn’t know what to think. He had just got out of a battle with literally a hand full of humans who had tried to kill him. Then these two appeared on his Built-in Scouter. It wouldn’t have been odd except for the fact that they were in the desert. People were a rarity for sure in the blistering sands and the heat of this location.

Was it truly to help? Bebi thought to himself.

The Tuffle’s thoughts began to wonder off as he was being drained by just standing there. The victory in the battle had a toll on him. He had won, but he was wounded. He couldn’t risk finding out whether or not the woman was true of heart to her words. He was Bebi after all. He was the monster that so many had learned to fear. For what though? He had installed fear, terror, and death into souls across the universe for some empire. It was for an empire that was full of lies and nothing more. It was a failure and something that he had no intention of belonging to any longer.

“Get the…hell…” Bebi said while his vision started to become blurry.

It didn’t take much longer after that. His eyesight went into a constant blur and then finally to a black. Numbers and words flashed across his HUB and then he collapsed. They simply read ‘shutting down’ along with a timer. He then fell forward with the little white child in his sights towards the violet haired woman.

Bebi smirked unconsciously as he fell at how help was offered to a monster as he was…
