The sun had barely reached its zenith, yet Thirteen had already tossed back about six beers. The empty cans lay strewn about, crushed in the middle where the android had squeezed them when he was finished. He now stared at the trees surrounding his log cabin in the middle of the woods, far from any sort of civilization. It had been many months since he returned home, his space travels took him away from Earth with little opportunity to return. But now that he had achieved his perfection, he was allowing himself to kick back and relax. It had been so long since he had been able to do so. Earth was so incredibly peaceful when he thought about it, hardly influenced by the galactic empires that Thirteen had involved himself in. Yet, as much as Thirteen was enjoying his little vacation from space pirating and the like, he could not help but feel like he was done. Like there was nothing else to do in his life. Hadn't been all the loose ends been tied up? Now that he had this power, what was he supposed to do with it? The evil on Shaklee remains, waiting for you. Thirteen pushed the thought away. He had decided that he would not be returning to the planet he owned for some time. The evil that had been sealed there by the Gods was beyond imaginable and would take more than just him to dispose of. The android reached for another beer, if he was actually scared, one of the strongest beings in the entire universe, then he needed to drink until he forgot that he was. There would be no honor in that. The cracking of twigs beneath someone's feet brought Android Thirteen's attention to the path that led up to his house. He initially wondered as to why he had not sensed him sooner, but after scanning the incoming Earthling, he saw that his power level was so low his processor probably just decided to ignore it. |

"There's a report of a bio hazard, Thirteen. Are you considering to take this mission?" The android considered the messenger for a moment, before waving him away. "Yes, yes. The payment seems decent enough and I don't believe these innocents in the hospital should die for such an unworthy cause. The fact that I am an android and immune to all human diseases does make me a prime candidate for the job a well." Thirteen stood up out of the rocking chair he was sitting in on the porch of his secluded log cabin in the woods. He spit tobacco into a large jug that was located only a few feet away before studying the weather. The sun beat down on the surrounding forest, the heat breaking through the trees and frying the underbrush. Noticing that the messenger was still standing there, Thirteen raised an eyebrow. "Is there something else?" The human almost squeaked in fright. "No, Thirteen. Nothing at--" "Then get off my porch already?" His order was obeyed, and Thirteen tossed the Red Ribbon Army cap he was wearing back onto the chair he had been sitting in. Cracking his neck, he stretched out his inorganic muscles, there was sure to be some heavy lifting involved in saving these human's necks. This was the new Android Thirteen. Still obsessed with corruption and the unworthy of living, he had still changed in the way of performing good deeds when they were needed and deserved. Returning to his old home on Earth had brought his old way of life back. Space pirating no longer interested him. Perhaps it was the Spirit Bomb that Tapion had attacked Thirteen with, he still remembered the faint feeling of being cleansed, the good energy destroying all of the bad within him. It was almost as if he needed to recharge his batteries on his home planet so to speak before he would set off for uncharted lands again... Thirteen again pushed the thoughts away as he realized he should get moving. Lives were at stake here, and he surely wouldn't be paid if he allowed these people to die. Stepping off his porch, he looked up into the sky and blasted off. |

Android Thirteen stood on the sidewalk across the street of the hospital, which was extremely damaged on one side. It was a wonder it was still standing. The rubble of the old medicine ward next door was strewn about, yellow caution tape strung about the entire block to keep bystanders away. There was a large crowd standing down a few blocks where the caution tape ended, and at the unexpected appearance of the android, their murmurs grew to roars. Thirteen didn't know if they were just regular people looking to see some action of an unfortunate situation, or if they were perhaps concerned family members of the patients. Most likely a mix of both. Humans were always attracted to despair, to misfortune, to death as long as it did not concern them personally. This disgusted him. While restraining an urge to purge the block of any of those unworthy humans, he walked calmly across the street towards the hospital, to save the ones he had deemed pure. As he approached the front door, a squirmy looking man appeared, his eyes looking around cautiously. The logo imprinted on the front lapel of his jacket identified him as another one of the environmental investigators that had recruited him from the government for this mission. Thirteen felt at a little unease that the human seemed so nervous, and that he had just appeared out of nowhere. He had not come out of the hospital. "Ah, yes. Mr. Thirteen. Right this way." Thirteen stopped walking, refusing the order, and crossed his arms. "Identify yourself and be quick about it. If you expect me to do my job, I would just get out of my way before I change my mind. You should know some of my background." Thirteen smiled as he pointed to the Red Ribbon Army logo on his chest, "So don't think I won't have any trouble just going on home and drinking a few more beers." The government worker tried to contain a sneer, and failed miserably, before putting on a phony smile. "How very funny, Mr. Thirteen. I merely have some new information for you that I would like to share, and it would be very much to your benefit if you listen." The android motioned for the human to continue. |

"Well to be blunt, you have been double crossed and set up." The agent burst into laughter as the form of his body dissipated into nothingness, completely disappearing from sight. Thirteen eyes grew wide, but only more so when the rest of the hospital in front of him exploded. Underneath the roar of the stone crumbling in front of him, Thirteen heard the screams of the dying. There would be nothing he could do. Frowning he turned around to realize he was not alone. A group of seven men floated in the air in front of him, staring at him with horrified faces. The one in the middle spoke, "You monster! We were too late, men. He has already destroyed the hospital. We must destroy him!" It took all of Thirteen's effort to keep from his jaw unhinging, he literally had no idea what was happening. The men in front of him were Earthlings, but they seemed to be well adept in the art of Ki. Speed Teleporting downwards, they attempted to engage the android but he had already reached to his belt and pulled off a grenade. He threw it down to the ground, and a bright flash of light exploded, as the Flash Grenade was detonated. As powerful as the Solar Flare technique, he used the diversionary tactic to escape, boosting his own speed to fly up into the sky and disappear into the clouds. No matter how weak those fighters were, seven of them would be capable of easily overwhelming him if they used the right tactics. An average fighter in strength could easily make up for it by being a tactical genius. Thirteen was not going to take that chance, as he flew away from the city, leaving those fighters behind. Thinking he was safe for the moment, his attention drifted back to the supposed government worker who had seemingly appeared and then disappeared without a trace. He realized that in that short amount of time he had scanned his life force, and he began to search from it. Thirteen gasped, "The bastard's power level seems to be coming from Gero's lab." |

Flying north, Android Thirteen watched the terrain change below him from urban, to rural, to wilderness. Buildings turned to lush green forests, to open dry plains, and finally white frozen tundra. The further north he flew, the flat lands grew to hills, and when the android looked all the way to the horizon, lines jutting into the sky appeared. The great mountains of the north, secret home to Dr. Gero's abandoned laboratory. The hidden area was also the docking area for Thirteen's Behemoth Class Carrier, The Sambuca, and his other various training items. Why or how this person had found out about this place was all just a guess for Thirteen. He grimaced, if any of his inventory was ruined, there would be hell to pay. It took years of traveling the universe to obtain what he had. Landing down on a cliff adjacent of the entrance to the laboratory, Thirteen paused to scan the area for any other potential hazards. There were none, just that one power reading inside the mountain that never seemed to stop fluctuating. He could never obtain a strong reading for him to estimate this person's power level. Intriguing, but at the same time very, very annoying. The metal doors slid open as Thirteen crossed the way, and approached. The hallways were dark and silent, save for the echoing footfalls of the android. He rounded a corner, and entered the main part of the lab, where the large tanks from where the androids were created and computers were abound. Not even realizing it, the redneck walked straight up to the open tank which had the number 13 imprinted on it in red and placed a hand on it. The man that appeared in front of the hospital before stepped out of the shadows, and spoke to Thirteen's back. "An agent of the Cosmic Empire has sent for you, Thirteen. It is time for you to leave Earth again, I apologize." "Who is summoning me?" questioned the android. "An alien by the name of Seifer." Thirteen's throat froze. The old Cosmic Emperor's henchman. If it was he who had set up this elaborate plot to get him off of Earth... "You think I'm going to leave Earth just because I have a few Earthlings after me?" The agent smiled. "You will leave because Seifer has use for you on Ippen and your sudden disappearance from this planet would seem odd to a few people who are watching if a reason was not created for your departure. Your ship has been prepared." Fading away, Thirteen was left standing alone in the lab, the agent's power source nowhere near anymore. He walked out of the room, and towards where his ship was docked even deeper into the mountain. He would have time to try and figure out who that was, and what kind of odd teleportation technique he was using. That and what Seifer wanted with him. It would be a long trip to Ippen. |
