GJ let out a loud yawn as he sat up from his cot. His muscles had been sore from all the extensive spars and battles he had endured the last few weeks, and his body was in great need of slumber.

He walked out into the living room of the Kame House and noticed Master Roshi sprawled out over the floor, playboy magazine in hand.

You've got to be kidding me...

Despite the fact that his master was an old pervert, he still deeply cherished him and everything he stood for. After all, Roshi was the first person to ever find GJ when he was just an infant. He appeared in a basket that made its way onto the shore of the island. Roshi in turn raised the boy strong and taught him everything he stands for, despite his perverted mind.

GJ opened a window in the kitchen and allowed the morning light and ocean breeze to blow in. He sighed in relief at his peaceful life. It seemed nowadays the world was full of sorrow and hate. He didn't know how people could live that way, but he knew as long as he was around he would do all in his power to stop it.

He walked over and opened up the fridge to look for a morning snack when he heard a noise coming from outside. He ran over to the window and noticed a small sparrow sitting in the window seal with a letter in its mouth.

"Is that for me little guy?"

GJ took the letter from the sparrows mouth and watched as it turned around and flew away. He observed the letter in his hand and noticed it was labeled with his name on the front.

Who in the world would be sending me a letter?

GJ had no family. He had friends but none that would ever contact him in letter form. He was a little confused by the letter. He decided he was obligated to read it and began unfolding it.

Dear Goku,

If you are reading this letter then that means my messenger was able to reach you. My name is Toro, I am a warrior here on Earth much like yourself. I have heard many rumors concerning you, all of them which has given you a high reputation among my people. I am sending this in regards of a great opportunity for you. Every year I hold a fighting tournament that is a home to many great fighters all over the Earth. I have summoned you because we would like you to become part of this tradition. If you are interested and would like to participate, then I will have a informant of mine meet you at the foot of the Fruegal River right by the mountains at dusk tonight. I am looking forward to seeing you and deeply encourage you to come.

Your Good Friend,

Toro

GJ read the letter over and over. He was puzzled by the mysterious messengers letter. Was it a hoax, or was this guy for real? He had never heard of this Toro, but from the letter he seemed friendly.

He finally decided he would consult Master Roshi about it, but when he walked over and tried to wake him unsuccessfully, he immediately gave up.

What should I do?

He finally decided that it was best to go. His curiosity and love for fighting drove him to this conclusion. He walked up to his room and began packing a few extra necessities into his bag. He didn't know how long he would be gone, but he wanted to be safe than sorry.

As soon as all of his things were packed, he walked back downstairs and sat down at the couch. He still felt a little uncomfortable about the whole deal, but once he made his mind there was no stopping him.

"Well I guess I have a little while before dusk. Might as well eat something and watch some television."

He went back to the fridge to grab some food. He picked out a big bowl of fruit and walked back over to the couch, food in hand. He turned the station to a cartoon and began munching away at his food.

Every once in awhile Master Roshi would roll over and mutter something obscure, but GJ paid no attention. As soon as his food was gone he sat his bowl aside and began flipping through the channels.

Very quickly GJ started to become impatient. He was just as excited as he was nervous and soon it took over his mind.

"Oh well, going early wouldn't hurt I guess. Plus Fruegal River is a long way from here."

GJ then tightened his belt before grabbing his bag. He stood up and walked over to the counter where he found a piece of paper and a pen. He scribbled out a quick note for Roshi and ran out the front door. He ran towards the ocean and just before reaching the water he lifted off into the air.

Sea flights were always so relaxing for him. Anytime he was stressed or had something on his mind, a fly over the ocean always soothed his brain. The smell of the saltwater made him smile as he picked up his pace a little bit and lowered himself over the ocean top.

Skidding along the ocean, he sped up again and continued his journey towards the meeting place.

GJ appeared at the spot just hours before dusk. The Fruegal River was the only river than connected the four oceans together, and was still the river with the freshest water. Sporadic springs purified the water as it flowed, making the middle of the river the purest water in the world.

The foot of the river was actually a small pond like area where the river extended out into a circular shape. GJ landed on the shore and began unpacking a couple slabs of meat. The area was at the foot of the mountains, but was abundant with trees capable of becoming good fire wood. He quickly gathered the necessary firewood and started a mediocre fire.

Cooking was a skill that came natural to GJ, much like martial arts. Part of his training with Roshi was a wilderness survival class that made him obligated to learn. Cooking the vegetables and few slabs of meat he brought was quick and the devouring of the food was even quicker.

When he was finished he allowed the fire to continue burning. He sprawled out on his back and began drifting in and out of sleep. Before he knew it, three hours had passed and the sun had already hidden itself from his side of the world.

He awoke with a loud crackle of the firewood and sprang up startled. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and stood up to observe the area.

"I wonder when they're gonna come," said GJ to himself.

Just as he said this he sensed a medium ranged power level approaching him at quick speed. He began eying the area until he spotted a man walking up from the other side of the river. When he reached the edge he stopped and motioned a hand signal behind him. Before GJ knew it, four other men appeared from the bushes and trees and walked up beside the man.

"Are you Goku?" the man asked in a very loud and high pitched voice.

GJ nodded and flew over to the other side of the river. He landed beside them and began observing them all. They all wore gray karate gis. Their faces were painted black and their hair was wore long in ponytails.

"Yes," GJ simple announced.

"Good you made it. Master Toro will be pleased. Follow me"

When they reached a small cave entrance that was located deeper inside the mountains, the other warriors said their goodbyes and flew away.

I'm glad they stuck around... How am I supposed to know where to go?

GJ finally decided to play his cards and enter the cave. It was long and narrow. The temperature was moderate but the cave waters caused a cooler climate. He walked a good two miles until he reached a large metal door. He attempted to open it, but it wouldn't budge. He was close to blasting the door open with his ki when he heard the bolts unlock and the door creaked open.

Inside there were large lights hovering over the ceiling. The walls were natural cave rock and it seemed the entire foundation was being powered by a large generator in the back. In the middle was a large fighting ring. It had a rock floor and was contained by barbwire around the entire perimeter. The stands resembled that of a coliseum, with no back rests and natural stones as seats. There weren't over fifty seats.

After GJ finished his observation, he started to walk into the ring when another door to the far right of the room slammed open. There was a silence for a moment and finally GJ heard someone speak

"So you made it?"

The voice was strong and deep. GJ could only see a large outline of a person so he was at first unsure of the person standing there. Finally, the man that spoke walked out to reveal himself.

He was a large man. Standing at an easy 6'7 and weighing no less that 300 lbs. He wore a long black ponytail and was dressed in what GJ guessed to rags. Although they were actually normal street clothes consisting of a white t-shirt and black sweats.

"Toro I'm guessing?" asked GJ.

"Yes. I'm glad you were able to come. You're much smaller than I expected."

Toro said this with a slight laugh.

"Don't let it fool you," announced GJ with a grin.

"Very well. You won't have to wait long as the tournament will be starting in less than 15 minutes."

Fifteen minutes! I'm not even prepared!

"Uh...Toro? Are there going to be any people coming to watch the tournament?"

"Yes. The ones fighting."

As Toro said this he flipped around and snapped his fingers. Quickly two scrawny looking men probably in their sixties ran out and wrapped a cape around Toro's back. They looked very malnourished and not a bit happy in the least.

"Now go back and alert all the contenders that our guest is here and to make their way to the ring."

"Y-yes sah!" The men trembled as they spoke. When GJ saw this he started becoming very weary about this whole thing.

I may have to keep my guard up. This guy isn't as friendly as he seemed.

GJ watched as the contestants all made their way into the ring. To GJ's surprise, there was only three of them.

"This is all the people in the tournament?" asked GJ.

"Unfortunately this is all we will be needing this year," announced Toro. "When it comes to making it bets people are more likely to show their money when there are less people, agree?"

What does he mean? Is he trying to say this is all a big gambling scheme?

Toro gave an evil smile before continuing on that made GJ slightly lose his mood.

"Of course, nobody wants to bet on a child."

GJ began to suspect there was a bigger scheme involved in this thing than he imagined. He began to question Toro when he was cut off by a large group of people walking through the same door he entered in. They were all men. Most of them in their twenties and thirties and were all dressed in gangster clothing. From what GJ could see, they all had the look of a criminal.

When they walked in, they observed the three fighters and the child and began placing their bets. Most of the bets were towards a tall man about Toro's height but was dressin in nothing but a jean jacket and jean pants. Unlike the ponytail Toro had, he had a shaved head and a tattoo of a skull placed on the top his head.

When they placed their bets they all began filling the few seats that were available and began shouting to start the tournament. There was one man, a red faced looking fellow, who looked incredibly tense. GJ could only guess as to why, but he had a feeling it might have had something to do with the money he had just parted with.

"Well Goku," said Toro with an evil smirk on his face. "Are you ready to begin?"

Toro began looking each participant up and down as if trying to decide the bracket. It was obvious to GJ that this wasn’t organized in the least bit and was starting to notice the fishiness of the whole ordeal. After a few silent moments, Toro finally came to a conclusion.

“Since there are only five of you all together this will be a little different. I am going to allow one of you an automatic bye to the final round. This will be decided by the person with the highest bet.

Toro began rummaging through all the betting slips, counting each person’s total up.

“It looks like the bye will be going to… Raphael.”

When Toro announced this one of the warriors stepped forward with a big smile on his face.

“Hey, that’s me,” he declared with a soft accent.

Raphael was a very average Italian in terms of looks. He was medium height and weight and was well built all around. He was clean shaved other than a slight mustache and a pair of long sideburns. His hair was black and slicked back with what looked like a gallon of grease. The most noticeable feature, was his set of large and fluorescent brown eyes.

“Now that we have that all cleared up. It looks like now we have to find the first one to challenge mister Goku here,” announced Toro.

“I’ll do it,” said the largest man in the bunch. “A kid isn’t even a warm up but it’ll get me stretched.”

When described in terms of largeness, fat would have been the way to explain it. He was a very odd looking fellow with a bald head and gapped teeth. He talked normal but had a hardly noticeable lisp in his speaking. He wore nothing but a long jumpsuit and pair of old tennis shoes. His hair style,

“Alright then, Corky will be the first one up,” explained Toro. “Will you two gentlemen please make your way to the ring please?”

GJ had already lost all appreciation for the whole thing. It was now already clear that these people weren’t anything near to being good guys.

I can’t believe I got involved in this mess…

GJ stood in the middle of the ring and became distracted by all the loud fans in the back. Not a one of them cheered for GJ and even gave him negative remarks a few times.

“Get this kid outa here!”

“We wanna see Ralphie!”

“What is this child’s game?”

GJ wasn’t bothered mentally by the remarks, but it did agitate him a little bit. He already knew that this whole thing was up to no good but he didn’t know what he was going to do about it yet. He decided to play it out and see where it took him.
Toro walked up to the ring with a small bell in his hand. He motioned to the crowd to quiet down and began explain the rules.

“It’s simple,” he explained. “The winner will be the one left…alive! Anything goes… Begin!”

A-Alive? What is this a Deathmatch?

When he said this, Corky, the large fighter, sprang forward and attempted to tackle the little kid. He seemed unbelievably slow to GJ and even became bored while Corky was in mid air. Right before Corky reached him, GJ did a simple sidestep and drove his knee into the fat man’s gut. Upon contact the obtuse warrior dropped to the floor.

He held his stomach with both hands and began howling like a child.

“Holy shit,” he exclaimed. “It hurts. Oh my God it hurts…”

GJ couldn’t believe the man’s weakness. He had fought many people so far in his life and any of the ones before would have been minor in damage.

GJ walked up to the man and begin noticing the change in the crowds tone and remarks. Very quickly they began cheering for GJ and a few of them even attempted to flee in terror. When he reached Corky he had already spat up a small puddle of blood and had obviously passed out from the pain.

“There’s no point in continuing this fight. He can no longer continue. Just continue this tournament or whatever you seem to call it.”

GJ was serious when he spoke. He seemed to have a touch of anger in his voice and was starting to act rebellious to the system.

“Goku, finish him,” shouted Toro sounding angry as well.

GJ shook his head and walked nearer to Corky’s body. He lifted him up buy the foot using one hand, and tossed him out of the ring.

“He’s done,” declared GJ making sure to get his point through this time.

Toro grimaced at his words but eventually forced a fake smile and turned around to choose the next fighter.

When Toro turned around, he noticed that two of the remaining three fighters were totally shaken up in awe. They had never seen such power and it even worse seeing it from a kid.

“Well,” prompted Toro. “Who’s next?”

“One of the fighters, who had the name Jesse written across his shirt stumbled back.

He was shaking uncontrollably and was definitely in fear.

“Jesse, you’re up!”

Jesse was a very short man. He was no taller than 5’5 and was skinny as well. Like most of the people in the room, he was dressed in casual street clothes. He looked up at Toro and shook his head.

“There’s n-no way,” Jesse muttered.

Jesse then stood up and attempted to flee from the building out the door.

“Wrong decision my friend,” said Toro closing his eyes.

Before Jesse made it to the door, Toro dashed up behind him and drove a kick in the back of his neck. Jesse immediately went limp and hit the floor. Toro looked at the fallen body and bent down, throwing his arms around his neck. In one simple move, Toro twisted his arms and snapped the neck of the already knocked out Jesse.

GJ became immediately lost all calmness in his bones.

“What are you doing?” GJ announced. “He was helpless. If he wanted to leave then he had every right to!”

“Shut up boy,” remarked Toro. “This is my tournament and I set the rules here. But on with the tournament shall we?”

GJ grimaced. He was pissed beyond all belief and has fed up with the whole ordeal.

He was going to do something about it soon.

Toro looked back up at the remaining two fighters, Raphael and the other man standing there, Michael.

“Well Mikey you’re up,” said Toro showing the calmness back in his voice.

Mikey, unlike Jesse, stepped into the ring even though he too was scared. He trembled upon looking at GJ’s eyes, which were filled with extreme anger. Toro rang the bell again like the first time and awaited the next fight to begin.

Neither one of the fighters made a move. Michael noticed that GJ wasn’t even looking at him. GJ was busy staring into the cold eyes of Toro, who also stared back.

“Goku,” Toro finally said. “Hurry up and win this so we can move on to the finals.”

GJ said nothing and continued to stare into Toro’s eyes. He had made up his mind what he was going to do. Whatever this organization was, he was going to end it once and for all.

Finally, Michael let out a loud scream and ran towards GJ with his fist in the air. Unlike his last round, GJ decided not to cause any direct damage but instead, preformed a normal leg sweep which caused Michael to smash into the ground face first. Michael though, quickly recovered and grunted as he stood up to punch GJ in the face. GJ simply grabbed the fist with one hand and began twirling in circles. When he had built up a good amount of momentum, he released Michael and sent him flying into the stands. The audience members looked as they saw the man flying towards them. They all scattered just in time for Michael to slam into the rocky stands destroying the foundation around him.

GJ didn’t even watch where he landed. The whole time he remained locked with Toro.

“Looks like he’s done Toro,” smarted off GJ. “How about you come into the ring next?”

Toro laughed at his words. He obviously thought that he still was superior to GJ besides the fact that he had taken care of his last two fighters with no trouble at all.

“You’re funny boy,” Toro finally remarked after his laughter settled. “You don’t have the right to fight me. You still have Raphael here to fight.”

GJ looked over at Raphael and noticed he was staring at Toro too with the same hatred.

“Toro,” shouted Raphael. “I see now why you brought this child to fight us. You knew how strong he was and you knew none of us could beat him, making all the bets in our favor worthless. It’s all a little money scheme you decided to throw into the pot this here.”

Toro smiled at Raphael’s remark but didn’t turn around to look at him.

“Very good,” said Toro. “And if you don’t want to end up with the same fate as Jesse then I suggest you climb into that ring. Now!”

Raphael looked up at GJ and smiled before he spoke.

“Hey kid. If you wanna get outa here now’s the time. I’ll hold off Toro while you make a run for it.”

“So you’re going against me are you?” asked Toro. “Well unfortunately for you nobody gets to leave until I say so. Plus, that door over there will only open with the proper authority. There’s a switch that only I know about. Looks like you’re stuck here.

Raphael paused for a moment before and eventually took his shirt off to show his bulk muscles and hairy chest. With no warning he lunged at Toro in an attempt to tackle him. Raphael was much quicker than any of the last contestants, but Toro was much quicker. Toro obviously had training in some form of self defense in his life. He dodged every one of Raphael’s punches and kicks like they were nothing.

“Do you really expect to beat me you bitch,” said Toro with an evil smile. “Since you obviously won’t do what’s asked of you I might as well get rid of you once and for all.”

Toro then leaped towards Raphael and kicked him in the chest with a simple roundhouse. Raphael stumbled back and landed on his back, holding his chest as he did. Toro walked up to him and smile before reaching down to snap the neck of
Raphael, but before Toro could grab him, he was gone.

Toro looked around desperately trying to find the explanation for his disappearance. But when he turned around and saw GJ standing there with Raphael right next to him, he knew what had happened.

“You should have just stuck to the plan boy and you wouldn’t have gotten hurt,” said
Toro unable to hide his anger anymore. “But now it looks like you will be fighting me after all. I hope you already made you will…”

Immediately when Toro sprang into action, GJ saw the difference in speed in ability he had over the others. He was agile and moved carefully with every movement.
Even though he was more of a skilled fighter than the other obvious street fighters, he still stood no chance against GJ.

Toro moved forward throwing punch after punch. None of them landed, but he was still able to keep a slight smirk on his face. After a long series of punches, Toro moved on to kicks. They were all unsuccessful as well. When his punches didn’t work he moved on to elbows and knees and even shoulders, all which failed to come close to their target.

After his large charade of attacks, Toro stopped. He wiped the small amounts of sweat from his forehead and smiled.

“Your reputation holds you Goku,” Toro bragged. “Impressive.”

“Unfortunately for you I’m not here to impress you. I have made up my made to finish you and your rotten business scheme for good.”

“Oh really?”

“Yeah, really...”

“Well it’s a shame. I was about to offer you a place with me. We could make a lot of money.”

“Not interested.”

The two locked eyes until GJ tightened his belt.

“I’m going to finish you off now Toro. You and your entire building you have here.”

“Not if I have anything to do with it you won’t!”

With this, Toro shot forward and began attacking once again, this time with more speed and precision. He used less fundamentality in his moves, making each one slightly harder to dodge, but nothing too difficult for GJ.

After Toro failed to land a right hook, GJ sidestepped and landed a devastating kick right into Toro’s jaw. The tall man dropped to the floor in an instant, trying to hold the blood back from draining.

Toro didn’t stand for quite some time. He continued to grunt and moan as he tried to hold the blood back. He eventually forced himself to stand, but GJ noticed the weakness in his legs.

“I’ll give you one chance to clean up your act and never hold another tournament like this again,” GJ offered to the injured man.

“Fuck you,” Toro muttered back.

With this GJ shot forward and disappeared right before he reached Toro’s body. He appeared behind him and sent another kick into his back which sent him forward into the large generator which powered the whole building. He caused no damage to the generator, but was obviously in deep pain.

GJ walked over to the body and had already powered up a small energy blast in his hand.

“What the fuck is that?” asked Toro.

“It’s the end to everything you stand for,” GJ answered.

He tossed the ball into the generator which caused a large explosion. GJ stood motionless as he watched all the lights turn out and all the bystanders in the stands run out the door as it opened from the power corruption. As the smoke cleared, Toro was laying on the ground, covered in blood and muttering senseless words.

“Maybe one day you’ll learn your lesson, but until then I’ll be sure to keep an eye on you to stop you in case you ever try something like this again!”

With this, GJ turned around and began walking out the door. He made his way down the large corridor he entered and eventually saw the light of the entrance. When he walked out, the men that ushered him to this location were talking to a few of the bystanders that were watching the tournament.

“Where’s Toro,” one of them asked.

“You might want to get him to a hospital. And I suggest you clean up your acts unless you want the same fate as your corrupted boss.”

The men stared in misbelieve and ran inside the now destroyed and powerless arena.

GJ took a deep breath and flew back to Kame House, ready to tell his master all the events that happened that day.
