If you are strong, you can swing the thing pretty fast. I have like...13K or something of strength so I'm pretty sure I can swing the Last Judgment pretty fast, despite its size.

But you just gotta use your head. It's about strategy. Besides, the people who use swords had to sacrifice master training to learn their techs. I know it isn't too big of a deal, but it is something considering the different bonuses and such for training with masters.

Not really. You can still gravity train, so that throws master training out of the window, unless you're tryna get SP.

The bonuses? You get to train in gravity while you Self Train AND learn a sword tech. That is no CON whatsoever. That is a pro. I wish I was able to master train in gravity at a power level like yous.

You can't learn regular techs if you're self-training, tho. *shrugs*

Not saying you would swing your sword slow Pan, but punching is tons faster then swinging it. To swing more than once, you have to re-adjust your blade. That takes longer then chambering another punch, or falling into an elbow. And you also have two fist weapons, and your feet rather than relying on only the blade.

Oh, and one and two handed blades. Not sure if people do it, by one-handed blade wielders should be allowed to have regular punches/kicks into their combos. Two-handers, no.

It's still about strategy. Use your head, and you can win against a sword wielder even if you yourself do not have one. You just have to do things wisely.

Lol, okay Pan. How about in your next battle, you fight without a sword against someone who has one, WHOSE SIMILAR TO YOU IN POWER LEVEL BTW, and show us this so-called strategy?

You keep saying its strategy Pan, but this shouldn't be an issue. It's plainly obvious that a non sword wielder is at a HIGH disadvantage. Everyone in the top ten is wielding swords. I would also like to see a serious match where you didn't bring your sword to the battle. The idea is that we shouldn't be FORCED to wield a sword, but still be competitive.

Hell, if Tora Jr. had a sword, he just might've beaten Tapion.

I don't think adding a bunch of tweaky and cheesy weapons is necessary. Just fix up the current system, add a REAL disadvantage to wielding a sword (1 less prepared item =/= a whole list of techniques + 400 str + 5% damage or w/e). Maybe add a few weapons that would be wielded in an anime like DBZ (staffs, etc). Rather than making a new list of staffs, staves, w/e, make a bunch of individual (or maybe even uniques) that give a single, individual ability (such as the staff you get from the Earth quest, Tea for the Master or w/e it's called).

Hahah, guys, some of us in the Top 10 have had swords since the beginning. I've had a sword since week...3 or 4 of me being here? I mean, getting a sword was even in one of my earliest quests(The Apprentice), 'cause my character was built for the blade.

But, I do have to agree with you on the swords. We need new things to push people towards the art of fists. It could even work like the alignments. There could be pure fist or pure sword, and they'd be barred from the techniques of the other side, but they'd also be able to learn their sides most powerful of techniques.

So, say I wanted to learn a fist tech, with my dependency on the art of the blade, I'd probably be limited only to level 1, if that. Vice versa for fist-users.

I think you might have something there Tapi. Weapons are being way over used in my opinion, it's pretty pathetic considering this is after all a DBZ RPG.

Perhaps we could add Sword/Weapon Fighting Styles and Regular Fighting Styles. After you complete a quest you add a point (or a half of a point or w/e depending on your level).

Sword/Weapon fighting styles would be a bit less beneficial because they're already receiving benefits from their weapon. They also would receive way fewer special techs because they already have sword techs.

This way a player could go for a balance of sword/fist or could go predominantly sword or fist.

Most swords are like nothing compared to a powerful warrior. If you are against a sword just break that shit over your knee.

The problem isn't that swords are OP...it's just that EVERYBODY has one and the idea of it is kinda lame. We need something to deter everybody wielding a blade.

I would love to see weapons go actually. Been thinking about it for a while now. Don't have a lot to say about it though. Seif and sephorith are suppose to have swords though. Seif is actually a human and sephorith is something else intirely. So humans aliens and half-saiyans should be allowed to use weapons. That and the change in the weapon system. That would also make more people choose other races beside saiyans and changlings.

You can't make weapons just racial specific...

Another copout, Pan. If you don't have any clue on what you're talking about, don't talk.

But yeah, I don't agree with the racial benefit part, even though my guy is Alien. It just wouldn't be fair.

I'm also not going to battle someone just to prove a point. Why should I battle someone and show people how to do things?

Peer pressure/ reverse psychology doesn't work on me. Maybe one day I shall leave my sword at home when I go up against a sword-user. But first, a challenge has to be given.

However, instead of bickering about that, there may be a good way to change things so things seem more balanced. Currently I don't know what, I do know there are some interesting ideas in this thread. I do agree that below a certain stat (perhaps strength?) there should be some sort of con for swinging a sword.

also, perhaps there should be a way to block sword attacks without using your forearms/hands/ etc.,

Well I just don't want to wield a sword. Everyone is wielding a sword. What can we do to stop or deter that?
