Most of the fallen members will probably gain a lot of power very quickly around here...we tend to average 600-1500 words per post...we're used to word count rewards.

If we do it post wise, it'll suck, because we'll just have to post 3-4 times in a row in order to achieve the rewards, but I guess it's not too much of a problem lol. Mind you, if we do that, the typical quest will probably be about 20-50 posts long.

IE: I need to go edit my personal saga now, because the first post is 900+ words and the second post is 700. =(

I agree with you there. I tend to write long story's and this short burst is hard to ajust too.

But on the otherhand it is the current settings and I personally don't believe it is the right of us new comers to demand that to be changed.

I personally like that idea. But yes, I am a full saiyan because of a donation item. It just seems to make sense. The reasoning given for Gohan being the way he is, is because his saiyan blood is so dominant. Trunks and Goten...there are multiple theories as to how they got to transform so early. One of which being that both Vegeta and Goku had unlocked SSJ before they were born, so that part of their genes was unlocked without intense training.

Also I can't tell if Geist was being sarcastic or not.

Gohan has more human traits than Saiyan traits. Gohan is inherently more human, if anything.

We're not, I assure you. I know that Alex actually likes the word count, as well as a vast amount of the current members here.

In all honesty, there is no change in the system.

If you're willing to write 5, 300 word posts, why not be willing to write 1500 words for the exact same reward?

Pushing it out by post can easily cause people to rush their stories and completely half ass them. If you ask them to do a minimum word count, they tend to see it as more of a challenge and typically write a better story.

EDIT: An no one's saying that you're going to write 1,500 words in a single post and call that the end of the story. I'm just saying, what if you write:

Post 1: 700 words
Post 2: 300 Words
Post 3: 600 Words
Post 4: 500 Words
Post 5: 700 words
That's a total of 2,800 words

Instead of doing that in one quest, someone could easily turn that into 300 words a post and have 9 Posts instead, for the exact same amount of work.

In a send, by post is rewarding people the same way, reguardless of effort.

Then we need a max per post limit. I don't even like looking at my own 10K+ personal saga on one post. and should we keep the minimum words as well?

I couldn't agree more.

We could required both a minimum word count and a mimium post count, that'd probably make the most sense in the end. It's just that we have people that write upwards of 100,000 words in a personal saga, each post approximately 1,000 words.

Would you rather them post 100 posts, or 33,334 posts for that 1 Personal Saga?

I typically do about 20,000 words per personal saga myself, so I don't go that extreme. My posts range from 600-1500 words, just depends on how much inspiration I currently have.

I'm a little worried that things might become a word count competition. "Dude, I just posted 1600 words!" "Oh dude, no way! I'm gonna post 1700 words!" And then those 1700 words make up a bunch of crap no one would ever want to read v.v Like Twilight.

You can push out 300 words faster than you can push out, say, 1200 words. It's much easier to just pump 300 words in and hit reply than to write 300 words on MS Word and come back later to finish it.

Besides, if you do word count it's just going to add that much more meaningless fluff in people's RPs.

You can not write a legitmate post in 300 words.

I'd love to see someone write a story with 300 word posts that makes any sort of sense without it being a post every 10 minutes and no being choppy.

Says who? I don't understand why you can't just push a small part of your gigantic story instead of posting a large fraction of it every time you post. It's fantastic that you guys like to write 23984209342 word posts...but why can't you just break that up into 300 word posts? We're glad to have you aboard and all of that right now, but we like things the way they are.

I want to see this 300 words per post, personal saga that will make me change my mind about this then.

Gohan.

If I wrote 100,000 words.

that would be 334 posts long. That's why.

The 300 word rule is really just to encourage roleplaying with others. Not only that, it makes the actual story seem more like a book with pages. Each page tends to lead on to more that needs to be said to complete a story, right?

Most people that don't write over 300 words a post won't like it. But honestly, if we don't change it, then the people taht were here before will find themselves in the 100,000 when everyone else is in the 300,000s.

And?

This rpg is not about powerlevels, its about having fun.

I dont care iabout my powerlevel, nor do I care how many posts/words I do in roleplay.

Im here to have fun, thats the only reason I stayed.

Then stop causing a stir. This entire thread is about you being afraid that things might change.

Whether you have to complete at quest in 1500 words or in 5 , 300 words posts won't change a damn thing.
