To you all who have battled before on this site, I have trouble understanding how you win. Does a ref decide or do the players decide or what? I mean because say I get ambushed but I'm determined not to lose and the other person is also determined not to lose. Does a judge say who is the winner after a certain number of posts or what? |

In the scenario you mention, the ref would have to decide. Generally the ref is SUPPOSED to decide even if the people involved have already agreed beforehand on who is going to win. It is generally assumed that someone with my power level is of course going to beat someone with 5K or so (See my battle with Dante). However, take a look at the example on the main site to get a bigger idea of things. Roleplay can help, but there are just some instances where the difference in power is just way too great. |

Ah, alright. Just needed clarification. It never did say on the main site how a winner was chosen, just what a winner could do. Now then it did mention it wasn't impossible to believe someone with 1k could beat someone with 10k...but me vs FG? I'm doomed xD! |

Just remember, there are no ties. Has to be a winner, has to be a loser. Ref has to use their best judgment to figure out who wins and who loses. |

It is mostly decided through roleplay. A good roleplayer can admit when he's defeated. |
