“Commander, shall we begin our descent?” Lights flashed within the cockpit and a suddenly stillness washed over the room as everyone awaited their orders. Many stood guard at the doors, completely still, sans their eyes. Gaze after gaze darted across the room, locking onto the sole candidate for the working orders; he loved every second of the attention and basked in it. It had been this reason he had joined the militia and each time his words were final, he felt the sudden array of power boost his ego one step closer to absolution. “Release the command for Order 66.” Spoke the high ranked official as he stood up and thrust his arm towards the viewing globe. “We begin our takeover here.” Nodding, the pilot turned back to his controls and began to input the commands for their landing. The vessel let loose a screeching siren that sang its song throughout the deep corridors, alerting everyone to the impending shift of direction. Many found their way to seats quickly, buckling themselves in as designated officials moved about checking their harnesses. Once confident that their subordinates were secured, they too were locked into their seats where they waited for the inevitable rise in gravity. A countdown came booming over the sirens; they knew it was time. Within seconds, they would be thrust into the planet’s atmosphere and their mission would officially being. Each soldier knew that many of their friends would be killed, but they also knew that they had little choice in the matter. War was a kill or be killed ordeal and though no one could be absolutely sure who would be returning from this conquest, they each knew that it was the right thing to do. “Prepare yourselves chaps,” the voice came from a black and red creature that dropped his visor over his eyes. “Today your valor will be tested. Your physical, mental, and spiritual power will be placed against this planet’s own forces and I promise you, peaceful as they may be, the Namekian’s will be no push over. Find their strengths and you will find their weakness; use it against them and you will live longer, hesitate and you will die. If I shall see any of your faces tonight, we will celebrate our victory and if we shall die, then tonight we dine in Hell!” There wasn’t enough time for cheering, for the second the speaker stopped talking, the space ship changed its trajectory and plummeted towards the planet’s surface. The force from the sudden gravitational pull pinned everyone to the cushioned seats, pushing them deeper and deeper into the soft fabric. Each soldier could feel thief flesh rippling backwards, threatening to tear itself free from their bones. The sensation of losing their stomach struck hard and fast, but as quickly as the descent had begun, it ended and within seconds their bonds were released. Lifting themselves off of their seats, they unstrapped their weapons and armor from their locked in positions. Placing each article on as quickly as they could, the soldiers lined up in eight single file lines, one right next to the other, and began marching towards their exit. The closer they got to the threshold, the more the came to understand their mission. They were going to forcefully take the planet Namek and anyone in their way would perish. Words: 560 |

:: Sigh :: Reijin rolled over in his bed and stared out the side window into the open, tranquil meadows of the Namekian plains. There was nothing out there, except the green sky, occasional cloud, and the random waltzing animal. Birds were in full chirp, singing their sweet song loudly and without a care; but one person did and he was getting extremely restless. As nice as peace was, the boredom that came with it was ten fold. He would have given his left arm for a nice juicing brawl with anyone at this point; he’d even take an old lady or a seven year old kid. :: Clap clap clap :: A foreign noise in the distance broke the Saiyan free from his depression. Lifting his head, he listened again, and within seconds, more noises that sounded an awful lot like gun fire. The thought was humorous to him, no one on Namek even owned a weapon, unless you considered pitchforks and hoes weapons, yet once again, more clapping. Squinting his eyes as he peeled himself from his bed, he looked harder into the distance, but saw nothing. Suddenly, a plumb of dust began to rise higher and higher into the air. Knowing that only an implosion could set off a column like that, Reijin found himself heading for the door before he even realized it. Whether it was conscious or not, he realized that something was up, and if he didn’t get on the ball, there was a very real possibility at being ambushed by whatever was interrupting the serenity of the planet; unfortunately he was too late. “Surprise,” came a voice from just around the corner. The second is foot passed over the threshold, the butt of a rifle slammed into his jaw, jerking his head backwards, causing him to bang his head on the floor. A hot flash of white rifled over his eyes, blurring his vision as he attempted to sit up. Something black lifted off of the floor as three men marched in and slammed into his face, rendering him unconscious. Two hands wrapped themselves around his ankles and began dragging him out of his dwelling and into the sunlight. A large, hovering craft lowered itself from the sky and the strangers lifted him onto it. Strapping two cuffs connected by a chain upon him, they turned away from the tiny, desolate cabin and flew off towards an unseen location. Post: 407 Words Total: 967 Words |

The albino haired Saiyan groaned as he reached up and placed his palm firmly against his skull; the blunt strike had not only knocked him unconscious, but had left a welt the size of a golf ball upon his forehead. The wound was still aching and that didn’t include the headache that he had as well. Today had started off boring and even thought it was quickly becoming eventful, Reijin was not pleased with the sudden turn of events. If he happened to cross paths with the man that knocked him out, he had the right of mind to return the favor. “Wake up?” came the voice of an elderly man. “You wake up?” “What does it look like?” asked Reijin as he attempted to stand, but found that he was bound to the ground by leather straps. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.” Reaching down and grabbing a hold of the binds, he tugged gentle and snapped the leather in two. The few captives in the room stared at him with the greatest of disbelief; apparently his strength was unexpected, but then again, these were Namekian’s that surrounded him and they were notorious for their lack of physical understanding. “Take a picture,” Reijin smirked as the jade creature’s confusion only seemed to deepen. “It lasts longer.” Looking around the room, the Saiyan came to the conclusion that he was thoroughly screwed. No only was he still reeling from the sneak attack, but the room he was in had no visible doors or windows. How he had gotten in was beyond him, but the Namekian’s must have seen someone getting tossed in, so perhaps they knew; his Saiyan pride disabled his ability to ask for direction, especially from a lesser race. “What happened?” asked the Saiyan without turning around to face the Namekians. “What’s going on out there?” There was a moment of silence and Reijin finally turned to face the other captives. Sadness was written across all of their faces and the way their body slumped sent a wave of depression throughout the humanoid. Whatever was happening was so bad that they were unable to speak of it, which led the Saiyan warrior to a single thought; invasion. The thought was farfetched, but not so much that he was able to rule it out. Namek didn’t have much of anything for people to take over, but it was a living planet and for some, that was enough. Whatever these invaders had in mind for the tranquil planet didn’t excuse them for bashing his skull in with a rifle, but sour as he may have been, it seemed that his own revenge would need to wait. The rest of the planet needed protection from these fools and though he couldn’t care less of the Namekian’s, it was the planet that he was worried about. Being that Namek was his current home as well, and he had no plans to travel at this point, Reijin had sworn to protect the planet at all costs. If he allowed these ‘invaders’ to take over his planet, it would not only be an insult to him, but his entire race as well. It would be a challenge, but it could also be the spark that reignites the flame within his soul. It was time to put his life on the line once again and see just how powerful he truly was. But then it hit him. What if he charged into the battle, half cocked and got himself blown away by some random chance that they were more powerful than he? It was a risk he wasn’t willing to take; if he was dead it wouldn’t matter if the planet survived or not. He was determined to keep himself alive and the planet intact, yet without any real idea of the enemy’s potential, there was no telling if he would be able to defeat them and that was unnerving. “I’m going to need those of you that can walk to follow me,” commanded the Saiyan without looking over the Namekians behind him. “I have no idea what’s going on out there, but I know that I’m not going to take them out on my own. This is your planet as well, so you’ll help me or you die; it’s your choice.” Before anyone could object, Reijin placed his palm against the cool, smooth cell wall. Closing his eyes, he began to push against the metal, feeling it bow outward a bit. Releasing small surges of energy, the Saiyan watched as the wall began to shift color around the ki’s impact point. He pushed harder, watching the wall warp just a bit more, then the cracks began to stretch outward. The Namekians behind him gasped in awe over the man’s concentrated strength; it was completely unlike a Saiyan to have the patients to warp out a wall instead of recklessly blow a whole through it. He was obviously a brilliant ki manipulator, one that these specific Nameks had never had the privilege of meeting before. The simply stared at him, completely struck in awe over his self control, but as the wall began to splinter and crack, they stood up and backed away; freedom was only seconds away. “When we break free, I’m going to need anyone that can fight to assist me,” spoke Reijin, seemingly un-phased by the task he was performing. “Hopefully you know where they are, because I have no damn clue. You lizards ready?” Turning his head and smiling at the rag-tag group nodding back at him, the Saiyan squinted his eyes and released a surge of ki into his palm. The energy entered into the wall, filling all of the cracks and warped the metal beyond its breaking point. Stretching his arm outward inch by inch, he watched as the metallic barrier finally gave way and exploded outward, sending shrapnel flying into two soldiers that happened to be standing guard, both dropped instantly, arms hitting their sides as their bodies tumbled to the ground. “Ok then,” spoke Reijin with uncertainty. “Let’s get going.” Post: 452 Words Total: 1,991 Words |

Landing just outside the boundary village, Reijin motioned for the Namekians to line up next to him. As they followed his orders, the Saiyan looked around for any holes in security; they were everywhere. It was almost as though they were expecting them and setting a trap, but by the look of the meek looking creatures holding their weapons, it didn’t look like they would be able to put up much of a fight against even the Nameks. Something had to be off, but the beings next to him differed. “That’s them,” whispered the closest green man, pointing a finger towards the man Reijin had just been looking at. “They’re the ones that locked us up.” “How many are there?” asked the Saiyan as he counted off seven total alien invaders. “Nine,” the Namekian responded. “But you killed two when you broke us out of the holding cell.” Reijin frowned. There were only seven alien’s invading the planet and only seven aliens were visible in the village. There was no way that the Namekian was right, no one would be stupid enough to try to take over a massive planet like Namek with only nine people; regardless of how strong or how many weapons they had. There had to be some other party of invaders, either on the way or hidden somewhere nearby. It would be nothing less than suicide to send in a nine man party against thousands, regardless of how weak the Nameks may have been. Suddenly, two guards smacked face first into each other. A look of astonished disbelief spread over the Saiyan’s face; maybe he was wrong, perhaps they were that stupid. Either way, he wasn’t going to fall into a well placed trap, even if it looked less like a trap and more like utter morons running around. He wasn’t sure if he should be mad or laugh about it, but he was sure that he was not happy about getting a rifle butt slammed into his face and he was going to give these freaks what they deserved; a free trip to the next dimension. “I think…yeah, you stay here.” commanded Reijin as he lifted himself from his crouched position. “I’ll send these fools back to where they came, no need for anyone else to get hurt.” Post: 389 Words Total: 2,380 Words |

Hoping over a boulder and rolling across the ground, Reijin tucked himself next to a tree and peered around the large trunk. As the guard turned his head, the Saiyan dashed for the house. Sliding across the ground, he came to a stop before hitting the side of the dwelling, but not before kicking up a large trail of debris. This, of course, was a planned trap, but the guard didn’t know this and as he turned and spotted it, he made to investigate. As he rounded the building, a fist shot outward, smashing into his visor and shattering the glass so badly that it penetrated the alien’s cranium, cutting into his brain and instantly killing him. “One down, six to go,” Reijin muttered to himself as he drug the body further out of view. Skimming across the ground, the raven haired warrior tried to keep as quiet as he could, but what he didn’t realize was that flying expended energy and the devices upon their head weren’t just fashionable armor, but also a new form of scouters. The second he lifted off of the ground to keep from making any footsteps, the six invaders instantly caught sight of his moving energy signature and broke off into an ambush formation. Levitating inches above the ground, the Saiyan rolled around the house and found that the guards had vanished. Concerned that he might be falling into a trap, he held back and watched for any signs of movement. The grass swayed from side to side as the wind blew, the trees tossed their leaves to the ground, but it was fall and that was usual for this time of year. The cloud’s shadows moved across the ground and the occasional wildlife would run straight through the large opening in the center of the village. The guards must have gone no some sort of break; they weren’t that intelligent after all. Sighing as he planted his feet against the ground, Reijin moved out from around the bend and stood in the open for a moment, still looking around. Something was up and an eerie feeling washed over him, but before he could get back into the cover of the building, a net slammed on top of him, pinning him to the ground. It was as he had expected, an ambush and he had fallen right into their trap; fooled by the fools. Frowning, he kept himself on the ground as they came out of their hiding places. Each one of them had a smug look of superiority on their faces, something he would remember in the coming moments. “Name and purpose of your presence peon,” commanded the obvious leader of the group; then he kicked Reijin, a huge mistake. “Speak when spoken to fool, or I will kill you.” When Reijin didn’t speak, he looked up and saw a foot coming straight for his head. Although the impact did no damage, he allowed his head to snap backwards, emulating the damage of a normal kick to the face. Dropping his face to the ground and gasping for air, the Saiyan allowed his acting skills, as horrible as they were, to take effect and by the looks of it, they were falling for it. “Maybe he doesn’t speak out language,” offered another guard, one that obvious wasn’t too fond of roughing him up. “We should just bind him in the holding chambers and wait for someone to come rescue him, set a trap like we did for him.” A hand shot out and slapped the guy across the face, dropping him to one knee as a thunderous clap echoed outward from the blow. Looking up in utter disbelief and fear, the soldier didn’t say a word, but stood and kept his mouth shut. The smacker looked down at Reijin and shook his head with disgust. “Pick this wrench up so I can get a better look at him,” spoke the man with extreme prejudice. “Now!” Three sets of arms wrapped themselves around his body and lifted him off of the ground. Standing him up, they held onto him and removed the netting, freeing the Saiyan from the temporary bonds; if only they knew what they were doing. Moving up to Reijin, the commander threatened to strike the raven haired captive in the face, but he didn’t flinch. Nodding with sarcastic approval, he lifted his rifle and aimed it for his head. Cocking it back and preparing to strike, he was stopped dead by Reijin’s words. “If you swing that thing anywhere near my face,” he paused for dramatic effect. “I’ll kill you all, I promise you. In fact, I’ll shove that rifle so far up your ass that you’ll be seeing stars for the next month, get it?” The commander laughed, obviously not heeding the Saiyan’s warning. Cocking his arms even further back, he swung the weapon forward, aiming it straight for the man’s face. Shaking his head and frowning, Reijin ducked down, yanking his arms free from the guard’s grasp. The butt of the weapon slammed into a guard’s chest, knocking him backwards. Standing up and grabbing a hold of the gun, Reijin tugged hard on it, removing it from the soldier’s grasp and pulling him forward. Spinning it around skillfully, the Saiyan spun around, dropped to one knee, and thrust the rifle straight upward, penetrating the man’s rear armor and shoving it directly through the anal passage. Grabbing the man’s combat knife from its holster, Reijin dove for the two closest guards that also lunged at him. The force of the bodies colliding would have mid-aired stalled both parties, but instead of just slamming chest first into the two incomers, Reijin threw his legs outward and kicked them hard. The two invading soldiers slammed hard into the ground and the Saiyan drove the knife directly through the skulls of both men, leaving their lifeless corpses on the ground as he burst violently into the air. Only three invaders remaining, the timid one and the other two that simply had kept their mouths shut, but before he could go looking for them, the shuttle in the middle of the village began to lift off from the ground. Smirking, Reijin began to power up a blast in his palm. Keeping his eyes upon the escaping vessel, the Saiyan prepared to blast it from the sky, but as he lifted his arm and released the blast, a jade hand slapped his arm to the side, causing his shot to miss. “What the hell is wrong with you?” asked Reijin in utter disbelief. “Their shame is set for they retreat,” spoke the Namekian with lightness in his voice. “You need not kill everyone. They have left, that is all that matters.” Reijin shook his head and watched as the metallic dot vanished into space. “And if they come back?” asked the Saiyan as he wiped the dirt from his shoulder. “Am I to protect you again?” The Namekian shrugged. “We did not ask you for your assistance, you gave it,” replied the jade creature as he placed a hand upon his shoulder. “If you deem yourself the savior of Namek, do as you please, just do not engage in needless violence in our presence.” Reijin shrugged off the Namekian’s hand and snarled. Lifting off the ground, the Saiyan retreated back to his own dwelling, but before he could arrive, a new event had begun. His day had started off bad and by the looks of the Namekian staring down his throat, the day wasn’t over. Post: 1,266 Words Total: 3,646 Words OOC: The quest ends at the start of my Flute Spar. |
