I am starting to agree on this as I am seeing the finer points of this type of battles. |

Honestly, until you actually try it, there's no way for you to tell if you like/dislike it. I've had a ton of people say that they hate RP battle, then they do it and prefer it. Likewise, people have tried it and hated it. But it's like the current battle system...I frankly dislike it, but I use it because it's what's here. If we did add RP battles, I'd be all over those. |

Reijin, perhaps they need to see it in action before they actually get the idea of it. I would be honored if you want a mock trial battle. ![]() Edit: Sorry Goku, forgot about your question. I RPed Tseng from FF7, a LONG time ago on another forum that died. It was much like this one where we played with canon characters, but they all had different personalities. Unfortunately that site died during a massive forum division and war...ugh. Also, I may have turned off some people from the idea. Those styles I mentioned were the things we called them, they could be called different on other forums. I've been sim battling as my main RP style over the last decade, these battles can be really fun win or lose. Second of all, its not about winning or losing. Its about having the fight of your life in epic proportions. You are free as a bird when it comes to your creativity and writing prowess, and this WILL help you develop those skills. I also do not wish to see this take place with another form, just a simple add-on for those who like Story Driven Action instead of Stat Driven Action. |

It's not a change, it would be an addition just so you know. A change would be if this was replacing the battle system, but rather it would just be an add-on. It's not like any of this is already going to happen. More of less to see reactions wheather to implement it or not. As for an example, Reijin I'm always up for kicking your...I mean battling. That or me and Yamcha could provide an example in the Roleplay School section or somewhere that would make sense |

If you two want to, it'd probably be helpful. But I'm going to talk to Razak about adding it in. As Flute said, it's not going to replace anything, just add another exciting level of battling for those that want to use it. If you don't want to RP Battle, then you can stick with the origional

Hey Flute, I'll be more than happy to tango with you if you wanna brawl. I LOVE making scenery, so if you wanna give me first intro post, I can make a fine and dandy one asap. You know...we could make this a 1 vs 1 vs 1... A real battle royale. |

Go ahead and do the best part lol, describe the scenery. No one ever does that and that's one of the main advantages I've had in any rp battle or stat for that matter I've ever done on here, Fallen, Rising, CERP, SSBRP, or any site I've ever rped on lol. I'm a tactical fellow. |

Alright! I am getting on it now. I was about to start but remembered how much I hate making a post in the actual thread. I'll fire up Word and get to work. Expect something in...half an hour to an hour. Should I keep it to the 800 word cap? |

Watch this one, see what you think, and if you still like it I'll have a go at it with you in the roleplay school as well after this one ends. |

Okay, so since this is an RP battle... Then the 'loser' of the battle itself can theoretically win if he/she had a better RP score. Is that right? |

Hrm. I would actually like to know how that would go about as well. Technically speaking, yes. The loser could very well lose the battle, but if their RP skills surpasses the others than that point would be awarded to him/her. I was thinking. Maybe after X amount of posts, the battle is judged then the 'winner' can give off one final post to do his supreme super cool very deadly destroy the planet kick to groin super kamehameha instant transmission attack to end it. @_@ I have no idea how the scoring would be based, if their would be a judge or if it would come down to the participants. |

And I'm asuming that the 'judge' is really the ref as well |

I would say yes along those lines. Judge = ref. We had the same thing on our old forum, but the fights never actually finished in a sim battle. But that was because we never really gave a limit to the post count. Though, I always tried to have say a max of 8-10 posts max for each person. |

That's exactly how it works. After each person has completed their 5 posts, the ref judges the battle and determines the winner. The winner is then allowed a single, final post in which he can RP sparing, stealing, or killing the opponent. It wouldn't matter if you had 1,000,000,000 PL and your opponent had a PL of 5. Everyone has a weak spot and you'd be surprised how little effort is required to kill a person from a single sneak attack. I'm no where near the strongest person in the world, in fact, in a one vs one fight, I bet most people on this RPG could destroy me in a fight, but SERE taught me some pretty nifty things and I can tell you, that whole, "Kill you with only my thumb" thing...it's real. That being said, the judge can also deem that the winner may only Steel or spare in some occasions, because let's be realistic here. We're basing this loosely off of the anime and Farm Joe wouldn't be able to kill SSJ3 Goku. So in the end, the judge determines who wins and who loses, as well as the choices that winner can decide upon. |

Really? With this sort of battle, I don't think there's any need to let the winner have a final post where they can kill/steal/spare. Personally, I think death should be a feature not present in RP Battles. That way 'stats battles' will still feel very important to the RPG. Surely we can all just roleplay out that our character gets beaten to a pulp if that's the case, and then just gain more stats than our opponent anyway? I don't think it matters about the particulars of the situation, as these battles are clearly not about winning like the 'stat battles'. |

I think that might kill the climax of the battle though. Say for example, the ending final posts by the two players each of them use a super charged ki blast that ends up in a Ki Struggle. By that time, the ref should have a clear idea of who will win the battle. He declares victory to player 1, and player 1 finishes off the battle in a climatic and epic way. If its to steal, spare or kill. You have different options as your last post and you can do enough 'dmg' to spare your opponent from death, take an item or kill them down right. I am not sure what the big difference would be between a Stat Battle Ending and an ending such as this, unless I missed the Nameks point. A personal thing of mine. I LOVE being beaten to a pulp! Yamcha is all about determination, and he will give his last breath to to take down his opponent. ![]() |
