Planet Namek. It was a beautiful planet, full of life and happiness. Blue grass decorated the surface and white clouds floated lazily in the sky. A small wind picked up, rustling the grass and Nappa lifted his face up, letting the breeze cool him down. However, the bald warrior was not here for the scenery. No. He was here for the Dragon Balls. He had heard that the gems that made this planet their home were powerful and could grant any wish to someone. The giant planned to make them his. However he was finding it troublesome to gather the seven. They were well hidden from any enemy that wanted to take them.

He had asked several Namekians, but they all were the same. Simply smiling and shaking their head, then walking away, casting hushed glances over their shoulders at the giant saiyan. Although it infuriated Nappa, he kept his cool. Now he was traveling to the town of Gloush. He had heard that a powerful namekian had created a Dragon Ball radar. That piece of technology would prove to be valuable in Nappa's search for the mystic balls.

He reached down to his hand and tightened the glove that he wore. The town was coming into focus and already, he could make out the individual Namekians as they went about. How could they be so peaceful when they had such powerful artifacts on their home world? Nappa couldn't make sense of it. It had to attract the attention of unwanted visitors as himself. Although his head was spinning with confusion, he shook it to force the thoughts out. He had more important things to do. He landed in the middle of the town, creating a small crater as he did. “Now,” he muttered to himself. “To find this Gloush.”

The town that Nappa landed in was fairly small, and an individual who did not know his way around could easily get lost if they weren't careful. He gritted his teeth in frustration as he passed a cart that he had passed five time already. “You seem lost,” whispered a quiet voice. Nappa spun around, ready to fire off a sarcastic response, but froze. The namekian that stood before him seemed more powerful than the others. In one hand, he held a small box that let out a beep every now and then. More importantly though, in his other hand he held something even more precious. An orange ball, dotted with three black stars reached Nappa's eyes and filled his vision. Nappa pointed a shaking finger at it.

“Whe-where did you get that?” he finally was able to choke out after a moment of trying to find his voice. The namekian didn't answer at first, but instead gave Nappa a long intelligent look.

“You're a saiyan, aren't you?” he asked through narrowed eyes, as if he instinctively did not trust the giant warrior.

“Yes,” Nappa admited, not taking his eyes off the dragon ball that the warrior cluched on to tightly. “That's beside the point,” he said hastily. “I need both that dragon ball and your radar. Hand it over,” he finished, extending his hand.

The namekian did not flinch and didn't even seem to hear the bald saiyan. “It has been a long time since I have seen one of your race. Tell me, how are things on Planet Vegeta?”
Nappa let out a growl of frustration. “Now your just toying with my patience! That is something I highly discourage!” His feet shifted into a fighting stance. “Now this is the last chance!” the bald warrior shouted, his voice booming outward. Curious towns folk stopped meandering around to see what was going on. “Give me those items, or you will die!” Nappa yelled.

Gloush merely smiled at the saiyan's threat. “You are just like all the others,” he murmured, shaking his head pitifully. “When will you learn that you aren't the most powerful entities in the universe? Even now, I can sense the wicked desires of your heart. After that, do you think that I would actually surrender these treasures to the likes of you?”

His cocky attitude infuriated the saiyan commander all the more. All patience was lost. The blood pounded in Nappa's ears as he launched himself at the namekian. Nappa could only see one outcome to this little skirmish. Both of the green fighter's hands were clutching on to both the Dragon Ball, and his mysterious radar. He had no defense, and would soon fall to his mighty attacks. He let out a scream that would strike terror into any heart and vanished, a puff of dust betraying where he once had been. “You can't strike what you can't see now can you?” he gloated.

Gloush started to laugh. “I don't need to see you monkey, he twisted around at a blindly fast speed, dodging a punch that was aimed at his face. “Your evil stench gives you away!” he exclaimed, throwing his foot out that caught Nappa heavily in the chest. Nappa let out a grunt of surprise and was thrown backwards, landing painfully on his side. The impact drove the breath out of him, but he quickly scrambled up to his feet and launched another assault. This one too, was quickly thwarted as a foot crashed painfully into his chin, sending him once again flying backwards. This time though, the bald warrior was able to catch himself in midair, landing on his feet a few yards away. “Don't you see,” Gloush started casually as if the whole ordeal meant little to him, “You can't win against me.”

Nappa was realizing that he was getting absolutely nowhere with his attacks. Every single time he struck, his blows were countered with ease. To make matters worse, the namekian was not even putting much power into his attacks. They were meant to do nothing but wound his pride. A small crowd had formed around the fighting pair to witness Nappa's futile display, pointing at him and talking excitedly to each other.

Nappa knew that he had to back down tactfully. But how to do it? With all namekian eyes trained on him, if he were simply to blast off, people would see him as a coward. But then it dawned on him. The Namekians had no idea why the two were fighting. Nappa straitened up and smiled. “Well done!” he called out loudly, his deep voice booming outward to all ears. “You've learned how to defend yourself well. However I must leave.” He took off and shot towards the Eastern direction, fuming with rage. How dare that Namekian make a fool out of him. He would have to take the radar and Dragon Ball from him by stealth, not strength. However that was easier said than done. A powerful warrior as himself would not easily let his guard down. Then a though hit him. How would he know where to find the warrior? For all he knew, the mighty namekian could been of just passing through the town.

Growling in frustration, he turned around and flew back towards the direction of the town. The fighter was gone, no surprise there, and so Nappa cautiously landed, looking for any clues of where he had gone. Then he spotted a familiar face. It was one of the Namekians who had witnessed the battle. He walked on over to where the green by passer sat. This was his only hope.

“Hey,” growled Nappa in his gruff voice that made the Namekian look up with suspicion in his eyes. Did everyone mistrust outsiders on this planet? “You were there when I left the small skirmish with Gloush. Where did he go?” The namekian glanced around as if he were looking for help and Nappa's hand flew to his neck. He ignored the shocked gasps from the outsiders that were watching. “Tell me where he is you miserable creature or I swear that I will crush you and mangle you so bad, your own family won't recognize you.” A rock hit Nappa in the back and landed on the ground with a thud. The bald warrior looked over his shoulder to glare at the namekian who was responsible for the small rebellion. He didn't come here to kill people, but the terrified green aliens did not know that.

A gasping noise escaped the slender throat of his victim and he turned his attention back, letting the grip that he had loosen just enough to let him speak. “H-he went t-towards t-the Grand Mountains,” he managed to choke out, one hand trying to pry Nappa's iron grip and one hand holding out a shaking finger that pointed in the direction the tower of rocks was. Nappa released his grip and the man slid to the ground coughing.

“That wasn't so hard now was it?” asked Nappa bending down to look down on the pathetic whelp. “I will be back if he isn't there and we will have to have another small round of question and answer. Now I must be off!” He launched himself towards the blue sky and turned on his scouter. Sure enough as he scanned the area in the direction of the mountains, a large power level, much larger than Nappa's was picked up.

Cold mountain air blasted in his face, making Nappa squint his eyes. The freezing conditions in this area were certainly not suitable for the mighty saiyan. However, he forced himself to continue. The retrieval of the Dragon Balls were of utmost importance to the siayan commander. Jagged peaks of the mountains zoomed underneath him and he peered down, looking for any sign of movement. It was almost impossible to see through the thick blanket of clouds that covered the area. Nappa sighed. It looked like he would have to rely on his scouter. He disliked the piece of technology, but at the moment, he did not have a choice but to use it. He couldn't sense life energy like some fighters could.

Although it was seen as a weakness by some, Nappa considered it an actual advantage. Some fighters saw the scouter and automatically thought of him as a weak warrior. Nappa soon put them in their place. A beep jarred the bald warrior to the present. Something was coming up ahead. The reading was off the charts. Sure, Nappa had seen stronger fighters, but it was defiantly strong for a Namekian. Narrowing his eyes, he let himself fall through the thick clouds that separated the mountains from the sky itself. Nothing but white filled Nappa's vision, so when his scouter went haywire, he instinctively flew off to the side. It was a good thing he did because a bright yellow beam soared past him, pushing the clouds away.

The bald warrior looked down and for a split second, he saw Gloush with his arm raised, smiling. Fury engulfed Nappa as the clouds swallowed him up yet again. The commander instantly put his hands out and fired off multiple blasts of Ki that ripped through the white barrier and flew towards the Namekian, all of his rage and anger surging through his blasts. The green fighter never wavered from his position, and mighty blasts ripped the mountain side apart. A cloud of dust and rubble billowed out of the center of the blast and Nappa peered into it, waiting for any kind of movement or light.

“So reckless,” Gloush's voice sounded behind Nappa and he spun around, astonished to see his cockily raised chin before him. In his hand was the Dragon Ball Radar.

“How-” Nappa began but the namekian stopped him from talking by slamming his knee into the bald warrior's gut. Gasping for air, he clutched his stomach and doubled over, backing up to put some distance between the two powers. His vision blurred and he struggled to breathe. “Damn you,” he gasped, “How are you so strong?”

Gloush shrugged his shoulders. “If you must know, I acquired the Dragon Balls before and wished for strength,” he gloated with a sneer. “I guess that you'll never know what this power is,” he murmured, placing the palm of his hand outward. “Now disappear,” he said in scarcely a whisper. His palm glowed for a minute before unleashing a deadly wave of energy right into the saiyan's face.

Where am I? Is this death? Everything is so dark. Wh-what's going on? I dont' want to be here! No! Nappa's eyes flew open and bright sunlight blasted him in the face. He blinked a couple of times. He looked down on himself to see dust caked on his suit, cuts all over him. Then the pain flooded over him. He was beaten beyond belief. Groaning, he reached down to his pocket and pulled out a small brown bag. A rattling noise was heard as he fumbled around with his hand until his two fingers closed around a small green bean. They were called Sensu Beans and they could instantly heal injuries and restore energy. He brought it up to his mouth and chewed slowly, favoring the healing juices as they seeped throughout his battered body, flooding him with strength. This isn't over Gloush, Nappa thought darkly.

Bright sunlight filtered in through the thick canopy of the blue trees overhead. Nappa opened his eyes and let out an enormous yawn. He had overslept far more than he had initially intended. He rubed his weary eyes with a hand and reluctantly stood up, the crushed grass beneath him seemed to sigh in relief as a wind picked up, rustling throughout the undergrowth. The bald saiyan reached for his scouter and turned it on. It beeped and started to load a map of the region he was in. Nappa tapped his foot impatiently until it finally loaded. Millions of Power Levels showed up on the scouter, but Nappa was looking for one in particular. That of Gloush's.

The Namekian had made a fool of him yesterday, and Nappa had every intention in the world to make him pay. But not all battles were won through brute force. Sometimes one had to take a different approach. One of stealth and cunning would lead him to his victory. Smiling, he pulled out a small radar from his pocket. It was not a Dragon Ball Radar, but a radar that the saiyan commander had programmed to track a small electronic device. One that Nappa cleverly threw on Gloush's radar right before he was hit with the energy blast.

Now all Nappa had to do was to keep track of Gloush with his scouter, and keep track of his radar with his own. All that was left to do was wait until the two were separated. Nappa hated waiting but it seemed to be the only way. “Hi! What are you doing here?” a voice behind the bald warrior startled him and he spun around to see a Namekian with a friendly look on his face. “Do you have a place to stay?” Before Nappa could respond, he continued “My name is Jank, you can stay over at my place if you don't have anywhere to stay,” He gave the crushed grass that Nappa had been sleeping on a scathing look. “That can't be very comfortable.”

“Err.. My name is Nappa and I'm a Sai-” The commander froze. The namekians seemed to have a deep mistrust for the Saiyan race. To release his race would be stupid. “I'm a human,” he smoothly finished, hiding his tail behind him so that Jank could not see it. The namekian ate the lie up and smiled.

“You're pretty far from earth aren't you?” he asked crossing his arms.

“Well actually, I'm a scientist, and I heard that a namekian here named Gloush created a Dragon Ball radar that is far beyond the ones that us humans use,” Nappa continued his lie casually. “Do you have any idea where I might find a radar of this high quality?” He peered deeply into Jank's eyes. The friendly look that had filled them had all but disappeared, replaced by a look of uncertainty and fear. Unable to meet Nappa's eyes, he looked away and shuffled his feet. Nappa frowned. It seemed like every Namekian on the planet was determined to protect this guy. The bald warrior shrugged. It wasn't his problem. At least he could get rid of Jank. He wasn't of any more use to the saiyan commander. Powering up he pointed a finger at the Namekian's chest. Jank stumbled backwards as Nappa let his tail loose.

“Y-you're a Saiyan,” he cried out, his eyes wide with shock, “No wonder you want-” A beam fired out of Nappa's finger and Jank was silenced forever. The hole in his cheast proof that he would never speak again. The great saiyan sighed. Why did everything have to be achieved the hard way?

Gloush was certainly the lay low type. Almost a week had passed and the bald commander still had no luck separating him from his Radar. It was as if glue held the two together like a caterpillar on the leaf. However, Nappa was determined and he would do anything to get his hands on the device. Even if it meant leaving behind a trail of dead bodies of others. One could easily call Nappa evil, but others would do far worse than he in their objective. And the wish he wanted wasn't that of a conquer. Yes, he wanted to get stronger. But he didn't want to sit on a throne all the time looking down on those who were under him, daring anyone to rebel agaisnt him.

A fierce wind tugged at his cape as if it were trying to get him to go in a certain direction. Nappa raised his chin, letting the cool air buffet him, hoping it would blow away all of his troubles. He had been stuck on this rock of a planet for far more than he had intended. However pressing matters had kept him there. A beeping noise came from his pocket and he shoved his hand down to grasp the radar. The radar had finally been left behind. But why? Had Gloush finally tracked down all of the Dragon Balls? If so, did he already make his wish? The bald warrior shook his head impatiently. There was no time to be thinking. He had to act. A white aura exploded around him and he blasted off to where the tracking device last pinged.

It was only thirty miles away, just about a hop and a skip for the saiyan, yet he approached the area with utmost caution. Any kind of trap could be waiting for him. However the signal remained strong and Gloush's power reading kept moving steadily to the West. What was he doing? Nappa didn't know, nor did he care. Excitement bubbled up inside of him as he drew closer and closer. At last the radar would be in his grasp.

Nappa floated effortlessly above a small forest. The beeping on his radar had become a steady ring announcing that he was close to his prey. He looked down, but his gaze could not penetrate the thick canopy of leaves. Shrugging, he descended, the cold wind piercing him even through his armor, causing him to shiver. Was it because of the cold, or because of something else to come though? The bald warrior couldn't tell. All that he knew is that the dragon ball radar was finally his.

Landing lightly on the ground, Nappa looked around. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. A thick forest surrounded him at all sides, and only an occasional bird song broke the eerie silence that hovered over the woods. There were no power readings on his scouter besides his own. He glanced at his own number with pride. He had grown twenty times his original fighting strength when he landed on Earth. Although there were plenty of other powers in the universe greater than his, Nappa had come far.

A shiny gleam caught Nappa's eye and he turned around, his eyes darting from one area to another, trying to pinpoint the location of the source. There it was. Anger bubbled up inside of Nappa. He had found the tracer, stuck onto a tree. But the actual Dragon Radar was no where to be seen. Gloush had obviously found the tracer and disposed of it to lead Nappa away. The namekian was a lot smarter than the bald warrior had given credit for. Nappa was quickly running out of options. Every trick he had tried had quickly failed. The saiyan clenched his fist. Although he hated to do it, it seemed like he would have to pave a path to the dragon radar through the blood of the innocents.

“Well,” said Nappa aloud as he blasted off from the thick forest, leaving a small crater behind him and tearing through the branches that were over him, caging him in from the outside world, “It looks like I will have to find someone who means a lot to Gloush. Every fighter has a weakness that can be exploited.” Nappa grinned. “I intend to find that weakness!” Laughter bubbled out of him, first a small chuckle, but then it grew to a booming laugh. “Gloush! Turns out that you are gonna give me that Dragon Ball Radar after all!”

A large expance of water came into view before Nappa and he flew low, letting the water part underneath him, sending huge waves crashing down on either side. He did a barrel roll and shot up higher leaving the waters crashing back down into the artificial water trench he made. The mainland of the Namekian village that he had left days ago was quickly coming into Nappa's view. All he had to do was find someone to spill what he knew about Gloush's hometown. It would go smoothly, wouldn't it?

Crushed grass underneath the mighty saiyan was the proof that the giant had landed. As he looked around the bustling village he realized that it seemed like he had never even been there from a couple of days ago. Nothing had changed. Villagers were exchanging friendly greetings with each other while small Namekian children chased each other around, their high pitched laughter filling the air. One lone Namekian was sitting on the edge of the fountain that marked the middle of the town reading some kind of scroll, his brow furrowed in concentration. Nappa closed his eyes and smiled. The destruction, pain, and torment to draw Gloush's attention to the saiyan commander was about to begin.
