Description: A patch of land where the water plants used to be mighty have now started to disperse, you're job is to find out what is destroying these plants, and stop it/them!

Kylar meditated on a small island, surrounded by crystal clear blue water. He could easily see almost thirty feet through the water to the bottom here. Unlike the rest of the oceans, there was very little plant life around here, and the clear water helped the Hybrid focus himself. There was a calm in the place that the Hybrid knew would help him come to terms with his new power.

“Hey! What are you doing?” demanded a figure, rushing towards Kylar’s peaceful little rock. Keeping a relaxed exterior, but secretly upset with the interruption, he simply cocked an eyebrow at the Namekian as the man came out of the water onto the small island. “So? What are you doing here?”

Kylar’s face remained serious as he stood to face the green-skinned alien. “Guru sent me here. He wanted me to meditate on my existence. I trust his orders are sufficient for you?” The last question was snide, he knew, but there was no reason for the Namekian to be disturbing his meditation.

The Namekian’s brow furrowed, his antennae twitching as if uncomfortable. “Guru sent you? My mistake, sir. Maybe... maybe you could help us then?” And again Kylar responded by cocking his eyebrow. “There’s something in the water here. We don’t know where, but it’s killing all the plants life, there aren’t even any animals left in the water. This used to be one of the best fishing grounds, and now it is barren. Would you be able to help us find the problem?”

Kylar thought for a moment. Knowing some of the teachers he had in the past, this could be exactly why Guru sent him here. This was probably a part of his training. “Of course. Is there anything else you can tell me about this?” The Namekian sighed, nodding, then took a seat, implying that it may be quite the tale to tell.

“It started three or four months ago. Some people who were fishing saw some sort of... snake, or something. They said it was huge, claimed to see 10 meters of its body without seeing head or tail. Since then, we’ve been investigating it.” This all sounded normal to Kylar, so he gestured for the Namekian to go on. “Well, after investigating it, we’ve found it seemed have migrated here from elsewhere on the planet. It doesn’t have any predators, and has devoured all the fish in this section, and seems to be slowly spreading its territory.”

Kylar nodded, but did not fully understand. “If this thing is carnivorous, and eating all the herbivore fish... shouldn’t the plant life here be thriving?” That seemed to be the logical to the Hybrid, though he was not fully sure of how ecosystems interact.

The Namekian, however, seemed to know more, and shook his head softly. “Without fish to eat the algae, the algae filled up this area, choking out the other plants. Without THOSE plants to oxygenate the water, the algae suffocated.” The look on the aliens face was a sad one, this seemed to really be affecting him emotionally. “Without these fishing grounds, we’re having to go to more and more dangerous lengths to find our food. If you could help us, it would cut down on the time away from home that our gatherers must spend.”

Kylar nodded, silent for moments. This beast in the water was affecting not only the water habitat it had claimed, but the one on the main land as well. As much as he would like to help, he was not sure if he could kill an animal simply for being what nature made it. “I will try to investigate it. Hopefully I can resolve this for you and your people.” The Namekian seemed to accept that, nodding solemnly. “I’ll leave in a few minutes, just let me finish my cleansing.”

The Namekian left at this point, leaving the Hybrid alone with his thoughts. This peaceful part of land was something he enjoyed, it saddened him that he was going to be changing the beautiful water to match the rest of the oceans. Simply to make some villagers life moderately easier. But this was the kind of thing he was here for, to improve himself, both mentally and physically, and doing the good deeds that Guru set for him.

With the Namekian man gone, Kylar spent the next half hour finishing his meditation, re-centering himself because he knew it would help him in the long run. Taking some deep breaths to help prepare, the Hybrid dove into the water, and began to swim downwards at an incredible speed.

Knowing that he had to find his quarry fast, Kylar went straight to the bottom of the crystal clear water. There were countless caves and crannies that a serpent could hide in down here, but the Hybrid hoped that he would be able to draw out the beast with his presence. It was not the safest plan he had ever concocted, but then again he wasn’t exactly one to avoid risks. Alright... where is this little beasty. Kylar thought to himself, swimming as fast as he could, darting into all the places that he would think to hide, were he a sea monster of sorts.

A shimmer of movement in one of the caves, and Kylar knew he had found his prey. Shooting forward, the warrior grabbed forward, hauling back on the tail of a snakelike creature. As he pulled it from the hole, he found it to be a five foot snake, snapping its jaw at the warrior. Seems like a pretty small thing to be making so much trouble. Aethos thought, and Kylar could not help but agree. Surfacing for air, snake in hand, Kylar shot out of the water onto one of the small islands.

“Alright, this can’t be right.” Kylar muttered to himself, looking at the angry snake, and back to the water. “There has to be something else to it.” Standing, the snake draped over both arms, the Hybrid looked to the water. It seemed darker than normal... Wait, no there was simply a darker band in the water. “Well that seems odd...” He said to himself, a split second before the water erupted upwards.

Standing before him, at least twenty feet straight out of the water, was a hissing and roaring water beast, which struck an uncanny resemblance to the snake that was in Kylar’s hands already. Maybe you want to let go of his baby, now? Aethos thought to Kylar, the words echoing inside his head. The snake fell from Kylars limp, terror-stricken fingers, slithering into the water.

That didn’t seem to have any effect on the larger beast, who was just as angry. “Can we talk about this?” Kylar asked, answered by a roar that splattered him with the remains of what must have been some of the native fish. Sighing, he wiped his face clean. “Alright, I guess that would be too much to ask...”

Kylar threw himself to the side as the serpent crashed forward, gnashing its teeth through the space that the hybrid had been occupying moments before. The slippery young snake slid into the water, swimming back down to the home that the beasties had made for themselves. As he tucked and rolled over his shoulder and back up to his feet, Kylar let out a shout, firing a blast of energy towards the lowered head of the beast. Not strong enough to do real damage, the small explosion it caused happened to blind the serpent, temporarily at least.

As the sea serpent roared, its tail thrashed from the water, skimming the top of the little island. As it took Kylar unaware in the back, the Hybrid was launched into the water. “Well this won’t end well...” He said to himself as he surfaced. The great beast had cleared its vision, and its serpentine body shot towards him with speed that was astonishing. Kylar fired blasts out of both hands, propelling himself out of the water in a tight front flip.

The sea beast snapped at the tumbling warrior, but Kylar changed his trajectory in the air, landing on the neck, wrapping his arms and legs around the thing tightly. Twisting and gnashing its jaws, the beast dove under water, dragging the warrior with him.

As the serpent blasted through the water, it was all Kylar could do to hold his breath, and hold onto the things neck. It was definitely not a leisurely ride, though luckily the water was clear enough that he was able to avoid being pressed against any rocks, which was quite the job, considering that the snake was getting unbearably close to them. Slowly climbing upwards, Kylar wrapped his hands around the head of the snake, blinding it by covering the things eyes. As the snake shot forward, unaware of where it was going, Kylar pulled and twisted with all his might, driving it away from the bay that it had ruined.

If he could get the snake lost away from it, then he could go back and clear up the babies it had left behind. He didn’t like the fact that they may die, so he was going to do all that he could to save them, even if it meant multiple trips to... wherever he was taking the sea snake.

Kylar had to take sporadic breaks, grabbing the beast and forcing it to the surface so that he could get breaths of fresh air. For over an hour, the Hybrid drove the snake away from its home. When he decided that he was a safe distance away, and that the snake probably could not find its way back, he surfaced once more, dragging the serpent behind him. Spinning and twisting as he floated in the air, the warrior launched the snake onto an island. Following close behind was the biggest blast of ki that the fighter could muster, directly to the head, knocking out the snake.

Sighing with relief, Kylar shot through the sky, heading back towards the village that was near his meditation spot. It took much less time to get there, flying rather than swimming, and he easily found the village. Harder, were finding fishermen who would help him transport the snakes to their new home. Eventually, however, he managed to convince four of the fishermen to swim down with him, catching and gathering as many of the young snakes that he could find.

As the loaded the baby serpents into boats, Kylar finally spoke up, brushing his wet hair from his eyes. “I want to thank you all.” He said loudly, drawing the attention of the brave fishermen. “This service will hopefully bring your village out of a dark time. If it doesn’t, hopefully you will learn some new spots, since I have a course mapped out where I passed a good amount of fishing spots.”

The Namekians looked relieved, as if none of them thought the Saiyan-look-a-like would actually help them. With rough map in hand, the aliens set off, waving amiably to the warrior. With a smile on his face, Kylar headed back towards Guru’s. It was a nice feeling, knowing that he helped the village, and that Guru would be proud of helping his people. This was a good start to the training he was undergoing, and he hoped that Guru would be able to find more things he could do to reverse some of the damages that he had done to his conscience during his time in the Saiyan military.
