The Namekian Lord sat Indian style in the center of a clearing. Around the clearing was a small grove, and then beyond that a long grassy plain till it converged with the sea. He had claimed this island for training purposes. A dark red aura began to emit from his body, the ground beneath him shook violently as he looked deep for his hidden power, but it was not there to grasp. Frustration overtook him and the Lord’s concentration was broken. He leapt up and angrily stomped his right foot into the ground. Two years of darkness, barley any food or drink, no way to strengthen his muscles; he was a shell of his former self. He closed his eyes; his head already began to ache from the massive amount of light that entered them, being trapped in darkness for two years left him nearly blind. Fife made his way into the shade of the grove and pushed his back against a tree, his knees gave out and he slumped to the ground. He was so tired and weak, yet his determination for the last week had driven him forward. He has eaten real meat, and consumed fresh water. Yet he was still weak, it took all he had just to kill a tiger earlier. His eyes drifted shut, he fell unconscious, and sleep deprivation became his number one need as he entered the dream world. Ten Years Prior “Fife, very good name for a young Namekian warrior,” A bulky Namekian stood with his arms folded across his chest. A young Namekian at the age of thirteen stood in front of him, his head tilted up to look at the Namekian with honor and pride. He respected the warrior Namekian whom was once from his village, but was now an Elite Warrior of Guru’s guard. Titus was his name; he handled all promising new recruits and trained them more strictly. Fife was honored to have been chosen for this type of training, though considering how he was considered a prodigy in his classes at a young age, it was no surprise. Titus motioned for Fife to follow him, and the young Namekian did. They moved through a windy path through the forest until they came to a humongous clearing. It was littered with small huts and training gear, and other warrior Namekians. This was the training group for all the defenders of Planet Namek. Fife was paralyzed with awe as they entered the clearing, Titus had to nearly drag him forward, and a chuckle escaped his lips as he did so. “Let’s not look too dumb on your first day.” Fife was given a small hut almost in the forest, he had a roommate but he was not there at the time, “Tomorrow morning you will start your training with a group of ten students, the one you are rooming with will be one of them. Get a good night’s rest, you will need it.” Titus left Fife on his bed, the young Namekian still in awe about his luck, his destiny was looking bright. Word Count: 515 |

Fife was asleep before his roommate even got there, and the Namekian named Flute did not even wake him up. They awoke to the sound of a small knocking on their door. The hardcore warrior group awoke before the others and started training early. Fife and Flute did not speak as they got ready, not by lack of trying. Flute was out of the door before Fife even had his equipment ready. Fife was last to arrive at the edge of the woods, nine Namekians where huddled in a small circle chatting quietly. Fife approached and they all stopped their talking. That was when Fife noticed he was the youngest there, and not just by a few years. He was the shortest, and by the looks of it the others where at least sixteen each. He was only thirteen, a baby compared to them. You think I don’t belong! Well I will show you! Fife turned around to find Titus had arrived. He whistled softly and pointed towards the woods, and in a flash the other nine where gone, including Titus. Fife leapt into the air and grabbed a branch. With a strong push he swung himself through the trees as he attempted to catch up with the group of Namekians who he could barely see. “Now, we are going to begin this year of training with a trial, to find where everyone stands.” Fife dropped to the ground just as Titus began to speak. “A one on one fight against each other,” The thirteen year old Namekian looked around to find they were in a large clearing. “These will be done one at a time, we will all watch and study the fights with extreme prejudice and judge each of their skills based on their strengths and weaknesses.” A large moan spread through the class, “Yes I know, not the most original way to start a year but it is how we do it.” Fife was completely dumbstruck; he was going to be fighting Namekians six inches to a foot taller than him, older than him, wiser than him. He gritted his teeth; this is not what he wanted. Titus began to look from one to another, formulating which he would pair up and then what order they would fight. Guess this isn’t random. “Fife and Flute, you two first.” Word Count: 391 Total Count: 906 |

Fife pushed his way through the crowd of warriors till he was in the middle of the clearing, his eyes drifted over to Flute who stood stem across from him. A small scar was across his eye, something Fife had not seen earlier. A small grin spread across his face as he looked at Fife, “Well roomy, sucks to be you eh?” Fife cracked his neck back and forth, he had only six months of warrior training before he was picked for this group, I can’t fail! Flute rushed forward before Fife even had time to get ready, and with a failed attempt to block himself he was left defenseless. Flute’s elbow slammed into his chest and sent him flying backwards head over heels, only coming to a stomp once he grabbed onto the soil with his hands which brought him to a screeching halt. Flute was already charging though, a trail of dirt trailed him. Fife barley got up in time to dodge the massive jab that had been coming his way. The Namekian spun around though, his left leg already on its way towards his head. Fife though was done running. His right arm sprung up, a massive sonic boom shook the area as the two connected. Fife though was not just some kid you mess with. He pushed away from the ground with his right leg and arched is left knee up. The kneecap sunk into Flute’s chest, and then further. Small ripping sounds indicated the tear of cartilage and skin. Though Fife was small, his massive strength and knowledge on pressure points and weak spots in the body was overwhelming. Flute doubled over, his knees buckled and slammed into the ground. Fife backed away; he had one with one blow. The others around him where dumbstruck, this small kid had defeated someone twice his size effortlessly. Word Count: 310 Total Count: 1,216 |

Present The small Namekian village was quite and desolate, it was their meditation time. They all sat peacefully in their huts; they followed Guru’s orders without question. Lord Fife stood tall on a cliff that overlooked the town, his arms folded across his chest. I know you are here, come find me Flute! The Namekian leapt off the cliff, his feet lightly tapped the ground as he came to one knee in the center of the town. His arms rose to each side instantly, bright green light flooded the area as a ball of energy was sent from each one of his palms. Violent winds and earthquakes shook the town as the Lord of Namek rose up and looked to one side, two Namekian warriors where already out, their eyes open wide in fear; yes they remembered him. Fife leapt to the side, his right shoulder slammed into one of the soldiers, a near instant death if it was not for the resilience of his race. His left hand though was flat, his fingernail pointed forward like the edge of a sword. The other warrior had no time to react as his fingernails gouged his throat and then passed through is esophagus and then through his spine. His head was completely lobbed off, a pool of purple blood wet the ground under his decapitated corpse. The other Namekian had finally regained his composure only to find Fife’s elbow slamming into his face. He fell unconscious to the ground, where he would soon die of blood loss from the injuries Fife put on him next, a quick slash across his throat. The village was up in flames, screams from the educated healers and such filled the air. The Lord of Namek stood straight, drops of blood dripped off his finger tips and covered both of his arms as other Namekians ran from him, all but one. An older Namekian, he looked older then Fife yet more passive in the fact he had no battle wounds. The man took a knee at Fife’s feet, his head bowed down as tears littered the ground under him, “My Lord.” Fife looked down at his subordinate with a sly grin, “Flute…” Word Count: 370 Total Count: 1,586 |
