My question: Can a blast punch be countered? My argument: I believe it can not be countered because it is a fundamental technique just like dragon dive can not be countered since it is an advanced technique. The rules of the site states only a physical combo can be countered. |

I would disagree. They are completely different things. Blast punch is a punch fused with Ki. Dragon dive is a completely different attack. Just because your fist has a little glow and more energy to it, doesn't make it any different then any other punch other then that fact. It would be like saying you couldn't block a flaming sword with a normal sword just because your sword wasn't on fire and theirs was. |

*scratches head* I was asked this... yesterday? And said that I see no reason a punch infused with ki can't be countered. Dragon Dive is done in a very different way. |

On a logical point of veiw, it certainly can. From a rules point on rule, I'd probably be inclined to agree because Ki Punch cant be used a physical combo and counter only applies to physical combo's. Thats a rule that has been tried and tested, on both physical based Ki attacks and weapon strikes and always the rule has been that you cannot because counters apply only to physical combo's |
