Maikeru stared at his feet silently as he walked, he was following another Namekian to go meet with Guru. The namek had introduced himself as Teishi. He was one of the Bodyguards for the elder, and it was his job to make sure nothing happened to him. He was his protector and he'd lay his life down for Guru. Today, Maikeru was here to meet Guru for the first time, and see if he was worthy to train underneath him as well as guard him for a single day. Teishi needed to take a day off and Maikeru wanted to fill in to prove he was worthy of training.

The two entered the main room to Guru's tower, and Maikeru got his first glimpse of the elder. He sat in his throne like chair and his eyes followed them as they entered.

"Master Guru, excuse me," Teishi spoke as both of them bowed at the same time. "This Namekian wishes to train underneath you Master. His name is Maikeru, and he seems honest enough."

Guru looked over towards Maikeru, and took in a deep breath. He focused and could feel the Namek's intentions. He did not have hate, or evil within his heart. A good sign. "Hmmmm," the elder managed to say. "I suppose you may train here Maikeru, you seem to be good hearted enough."

Maikeru then nodded and put a light smile on his face. "Much thanks Master Guru," he replied.

"Teishi, I would like you to test his abilities before I begin to train him. See what his skills are like," Guru told him. Teishi responded with a nod.

"As you wish Master," Teishi said. He turned around to look at Maikeru and spoke, "Well you heard him, lets take this outside and see what you got."

Maikeru smiled a little bit more. A friendly spar couldn't hurt, after-all Teishi can take his day off knowing Master Guru is in good hands... after he takes a butt whooping anyway. The two exited the tower heading outdoors, they didn't want to wreck the place.

Maikeru and Teishi had exited the building, now standing in a clearing a decent distance away from the tower. The two fighters were about 15 feet apart and had their eyes locked on each other. A short stare down before their bout, and neither was planning to lose. Maikeru stood about an inch taller than Teishi, but Teishi had a stockier body. It would be a good spar, and it would be done on friendly terms.

Teishi began to say something, "Okay Maikeru..." At that moment he swiftly took a fighting stance, "Prepare yourself, and say when your ready to begin." A soft smile laid across his lips as he waited patiently.

Maikeru took a moment to breathe, and he stretched slightly. He took a rough fighting stance, and just by looking at it you could tell he'd never formally been trained by a Master before. This caused Teishi to chuckle lightly under his breath. "Okay, Lets do this Teishi," he finally stated and rushed forward.

As Maikeru moved in Teishi took in all his movements. Maikeru brought up one of his knees followed by a pair of punches. These movements were all done in combonation, and at a pretty fast speed. Teishi managed to block the knee, and one of the punches. The single blow that landed hit him in the right cheek and knocked him back only a couple centimeters. Teishi knew how to take a punch.

Maikeru continued with his offensive, throwing a left punch at Teishi's chest followed by a hard right elbow to his head. Teishi again unphased by these attacks blocked the punch with his forearms, and countered with a kick to Maikeru's gut. Maikeru was thrown backwards several feet, and leaned over with the wind knocked out of him.

"That was... a nice kick there..." he managed to spit out as he regained his composure. He blasted forward with a barrage of elbows and knees aimed at Teishi's head and body. Teishi countered these blows with strikes of his own, and both of their attacks were in turn canceling each other out. Until Maikeru went for a full on kick to Teishi's legs knocking them out from under him, and causing him to crash to the ground. Then with his other leg, Maikeru kicked the Namek backwards. As he was sliding across the ground, Maikeru brought his palms up swinging both arms forward at once. He used his Beam Ball technique to launch two simple ki blasts at his opponent which both exploded over him.

Maikeru watched a cloud of dust engulf his opponent, and all the while he had a smile. He believed for a second that he had won that easily. However he was sadly mistaken. For only seconds later Teishi blasted out of the dust cloud flying towards Maikeru. He fired off four ki blasts of his own at him, and Maikeru swiftly went on the offensive. He managed to fire of one blast that impacted one of Teishi's but the other three came down on him at once. He was rocked by the explosive force of this energy and thrown backwards into the dirt.

Teishi did not quit, and continued to fire ki blast after ki blast in Maikeru's direction. They were coming so fast that Maikeru was not even able to block them. After several minutes of this, Maikeru had broken a sweat and was breathing heavily. He was all scuffed, scratched, and slightly bloodied up. "Thats it! You won this time Teishi..." he spat out finally. His head hung low, and he tried to catch his breath. "I have failed."

"You have not failed Maikeru, infact you proved to me that you won't give up easy. You showed potential with those strikes you landed though, but I nor Guru never expected you to be victorious. I've been training for years already, but you'll gain skill quickly. As for being my temporary replacement, you'll do fine. I trust that you can take the job for just a day," Teishi told him.

Maikeru nodded lightly, "Thank you sir, I'll do my best."

"Alright then it's settled, you can go ahead back to the tower and get yourself cleaned up," Teishi informed him.
