(The quest that leads into this is found here.)

Gosai had prepared himself for his attempt at locating the intruder upon Namek's solitude with the speed one can only manage when truly agitated. And he was indeed agitated. Since his arrival on the planet he'd found it to be boring but... tranquil. A perfect place to find the peace of mind that had long eluded the young martial artist in his life. Sadly, it seemed that this was not to last.

Tragedy had struck the Namekian people when one of their own warriors had begun a spree of murders across the planet. The human fighter had teamed up with the Namekian warrior Clarinet in order to halt the fallen warrior.

Now the human stood at the mouth of his space ship, a large backpack slung over his back. He'd gathered up the food, water, and sleeping supplies he felt he would need. For once, he was determined to see through a search to the end. "Heh, I suppose Namek's wilderness could be good for training too." He commented idly to himself.

"Good, we can make a vacation out of it." The comment was oddly light hearted and had been made by one of the human's several companions. Azumi, the brunette martial artist, Gosai's friend from Earth.

"You're coming along?" He asked, surprised.

"Why wouldn't I?" She declared, folding her arms over her chest. "Who knows how many of those Cyborg Namekians this guy's made? You'll need back up, and I'm the best for that."

"Technically grandpa would be best for that." He commented with a smirk, feeling some of his good humor rise up. "But fine. C'mon, we're not gonna slow down unless we have to."

With that declaration he immediately began running at full speed, almost fading completely from Azumi's vision as she ran off to keep up with him. "Hey! Don't get too excited here!"

The multiple suns of Namek meant that the planet was brightened by eternal daylight, a fact that made it difficult to guess how long the duo had been moving through the massive island they were investigating first. Near the village Fujara, the cyborg Namekian, had hailed from was located here. It was the best guess that G0sai and Azumi would find the scientist responsible somewhere in this general area...

If they had only known how right they were. At the very moment the two of them were looking for him, the scientist in question was sitting at a massive computer console overlooking data streaming across the screen at high speeds. His fingers occasionally tapped the keyboard as he entered a new variable, or corrected some minor factor.

"It's fascinating, sir." The scientist spoke, his body covered largely in darkness, the illumination of his computer screen the only source of light in the room. Power was being conserved for the true purpose of this headquarters... in reality a single large ship, wholly submerged at the bottom of the planet's green oceans. "Fujara's power increase was immense. He was simply to..." he waved his hand over his head, searching for the proper word. "weak-willed to maintain his sanity I suppose. Though I must admit, his desire to see all of the Namekians transformed into cyborgs like himself was... intriguing. They would make a potent army."

He looked towards one of the windows of the ship. A small fish darted by. At this depth, like many fish of earth, the fish of Namek had developed glowing stalks as adaptations to allow them to see at this depth.

"If I'm not mistaken though, you could transform even the lowliest of your soldiers into the equal of a First Class Saiyan warrior. Pour them across the universe and show that the marriage of technology and flesh is truly the only option to move into the future."

The screen showed only an obscured face, as a mask was keeping the identity of the speaker a secret. A soothing voice came through the transmitter right in front of the scientist.

"Good work Doctor Thorn, I am pleased to hear that the results were more than...acceptable. But other things come first, the Fujara project was just a simple test, after all, you know that we demand much better and much greater accomplishments from you."

The scientist slightly shivered as he heard the man talk about greater accomplishments. Up till now he had already broken the rules of nature once, by bringing back to life what should've been dead. Reaching for a pocket in his labcoat, he pulled out a tissue and removed his glasses. While cleaning them, he softly spoke again.

"Yes lieutenant, I understand what my duties are, I have already updated the old units and am currently using them as guards. They might be evenly matched to the professional soldiers of the Saiyan army sir."

Putting his glasses back on, the scientist abrubtly ended the transmission. He knew he still had lots of work, but indeed he was fascinated by the assumption of a collective mind. The Namekian that he had rebuild with this technology seemed to be eager to make all others to his image. If so, a single controle unit could command several of such remodeled warriors.

Walking down some spiral stairs, he reached a dark and large room. Several machines seemed to come to life as he toggled some switches at the wall. Several lights flashed on and brightened the large room, showing various large tubes being monitored by big machines. A low humming noise was all that was to be heard, except for the scientist's shoes, clanging on the metal floor.

"Soon, soon you'll all be operational, but first I need to have a little looksy at my most wonderfull creation. If I can complete my dear AS13, they will be very pleased, very pleased indeed."

Far above the Doctor Thorn's hide away, Gosai and Azumi had paused once again in his pursuit. His gaze flitted along the dark waters of Namek's ocean. There was something still on the edge of his senses. Several dozen somethings actually. "Where are you?" He mumbled, unable to get a true fix on the various twinges of power he was feeling. In fact, he was unable to even tell if they were simply natives of the planet or some other group entirely.

"Talking to yourself isn't going to help Gosai. Try using your head." Azumi offered, what she hoped was helpfully.

With a sigh, the human fighter nodded, shutting his eyes and taking a deep breath. Deep in his mind he was searching. He needed to focus his ki sense, to differentiate between the natives and the scientist. "Y'know, he might not even have a power level I can sense..." He mumbled with a sigh. Still, it wasn't as though he had any other options going on.

---

Down within Dr. Thorn's ship however several 'grunts' were looking over another system. One of many bits of equipment that ships possessed that simply were lacking on a personal level. An improved scouter.

Bigger, a tad bulkier, but it was more accurate and with a far larger range and able to read much higher powers without difficulty. And right now, it was picking up two very particular power levels.

"Hm, think we should tell Dr. Thorn?" One soldier suggested. He was a round creature with vaguely amphibian features. A shining plate of bone went down from the top of his head down his back.

"Oh c'mon, one of them is only a ten. And the other one..." Another soldier spoke up before he paused for a moment, considering the second power level. "Ah... the other one is... twenty thousand..."

"I think," A third soldier began to speak up, this one was humanoid with the primary differences being a bright turquoise skin color and dark orange hair. "we might want to go and give 'em a surprise eh?"

The large soldier nodded, standing up as he reached for a scouter. "Right. That second power level's high, but if we get the element of surprise... and gather up enough of the men." He nodded, steeling his reserve. "Get about ten of 'em and lets move!" He shouted, raising up a hand.

The unsuspecting human duo had begun pitching their tent along the coastline of the island. "I wonder if the water is safe for us to drink." Gosai mused, looking over the green tinted water.

"Why don't you grab a cup and find out?" Azumi suggested, attempting to lift her companion's spirits a bit, perhaps return some of his old humor.

"Yeah, I'm sure that'd be just great." He laughed, looking more carefully into the water. Little by little it was growing more disturbed. Ripples and bubbles forming up. "Eh? Now... what the heck is this?" Gosai queried taking several steps back. The twinges of ki he had felt on the edge of his awareness were suddenly growing much closer and more firmly distinguished.

"Azumi!" Gosai shouted, moving towards his companion at full speed. "Move!" He ordered her. And not a moment to soon it seemed as a massive pod shot out of the water, splitting in half while still in the air and launching an assortment of aliens from it.

The myriad of creatures took an immediate offensive and began peppering the ground with ki blasts, eradicating any plant life in the general area. The human duo rolled across the rapidly dwindling grass.

"What the hell!?" Azumi screamed, rising back up to her feet in time to intercept an attack from the rotund alien with the bone plate. As his fist came in close she parried the strike before driving her knee into his gut. The nimble fighter was able to jump directly over him before another of the alien soldiers could attack, landing a second punch directly into the rotund commander's face.

"Gah! Idiot!" He screamed, holding his nose. "You're supposed to deal with the girl not with me!"

Gosai raised an eyebrow, becoming aware of the soldiers swarming Azumi instead of himself. Huh, guess all that ki suppression training really is working... though that puts her in a real tough spot.

With that realization made, the human fighter quickly became a swirling torrent of pain for the three or so soldiers nearest to him. His hands smashing into the side of two of their heads while he landed a kick to the back of the third one's knees. Switching his positioning a bit, he grabbed the other two before smashing them into the third one, collectively eliminating the three from the fight, atl east for the foreseeable future.

"Heh, these guys aren't that tough." Gosai quipped with a grin, sidestepping out of the way of another alien's attack, a blast of ki that nearly incinerated his three comrades. When the human martial artist finally turned to look at his foe, it was the turquoise alien.

"I get it." He sneered. "You're hiding your real power. That's fine." The alien declared, nodding to the rest of his team. "All of you! Take the female down. I'll handle her partner."

"I don't recommend it." Gosai shrugged, slipping fluidly into his combat stance. "I'm a lot stronger than you're giving me credit for."

The turquoise alien laughed, assuming the same stance as Gosai. "Apparently you've never heard of me before. Just call me Kaz. Captain of the Scientific Research unit of this military. I will not allow myself or my men to be made fools of by two primitive half-apes." With that said, he launched himself at Gosai.

To the average human, his speed would have been phenomenal. Almost greater than one could keep up with. However, Gosai simply turned his body to the side before shooting out his hand, grabbing the combat armor Kaz was wearing halting his progress mid-stride.

"H-how did you-?"

"You're in an awfully big hurry for someone so slow." Gosai chuckled, pivoting on his foot before throwing the turquoise alien into the distance, skipping him across the waters. "That was... surprisingly easy."

"Oh, I'm so glad you're having fun!" Azumi retorted, pushed on the defensive by the remaining six aliens attacking her at once. She may have been stronger and faster than her assailants at this point but she still had to divide her focus six different ways in a high speed situation. Strikes were still leaking in against her.

With Gosai's help, the remaining six were placed at a fairly massive disadvantage. His opening strike sent the rotund alien splashing across the water after Kaz. The remaining five gulped before jumping backwards.

"All at once!" One screamed, raising his hands over his head, drawing forth a large amount of ki, the other four quickly followed suit. With their attacks merging one by one, the power they were handling quickly grew dangerously potent.

"Oh, that's not good..." Gosai groaned.

"... How not good?" Azumi asked.

"Well," Gosai spoke, looking over at Azumi, for the moment ignoring their possible assailants. "as strong as the attack is, if it hits, it'll probably destroy this whole island. And also really, really hurt us." He explained.

"Peachy. So, how do we stop it?"

"Hey!" One of the aliens yelled, the way he was built gave the appearance of being literally constructed of stone. "Don't just ignore us!"

"Well, the best way to take out the attack," Gosai continued, still ignoring the quartet of hostiles. "would be like this."

With that last statement he vanished from where he stood, appearing in front of the 'stone' alien that had yelled at him before hitting him with a potent uppercut, sending him smashing up through the field of energy and emerging heavily singed before falling back into the water as well.

"Crap, crap, crap!" The remaining trio started screaming as their attack began to destabilize, warping in shape and pulsing dangerously from above them. In only a few moments the entire ball of ki exploded above them, removing a large chunk from the beach they were standing on and scattering the three of them across the waterfront in varying states of injury.

---

Meanwhile, hovering above the water out of eye's sight Kaz remained his eyes focusing upon his scouter. "Those kinds of power levels..." He gasped, surprise etched on his features. "We never stood a chance... we'll have to hit them with everything we can."

Eyes narrowing, Kaz began forming up his plan. If power wasn't on their side, he'd have to use trickery instead... and that he had in abundance.

It took only a second to ignite his aura to full blaze before he plunged deep into the water, seeking to return to the ship... and to Dr. Thorn.

This fight has only started humans! He screamed mentally as his scouter continued beeping away.

Kaz plunged further into the waters, rather than opening the doorwa he chose simply to blast his way through into the ship. It took him less than a moment to enter the rapidly flooding chamber before the emergency seals fell to cover the hole. The soaking alien let out a roar of fury as he stomped further into the ship's chambers.

His rapid step took him quickly past a number of soldiers, he was quick to bark orders to them to the tune of 'stand guard' and 'let no one pass'. He didn't know if the humans were tracking him but he knew how to deal with them.

"Wh-what are you doing!?" A startled technician yelled, falling off his chair as Kaz burst into one of many labs littered about the ship.

"I've come for the project." He stated firmly. "I want the juice."

"S-sir, we haven't finished the research. The product is... is unstable and-"

"That wasn't a request." The turquoise alien growled, lifting the scientist off from his seat. "We are soon to be beset by two creatures with more power than any seven beings on this ship. With your little cocktail, I should be able to stand up to them now shouldn't I?"

"Y-yes, I... I suppose that could w-work." The techie nodded, growing more and more nervous as Kaz finally tossed him to the ground. Gulping he went to a wall safe and punched in his combination to it before turning around and holding out a vial with a strange blue liquid within it. "I... I should warn you again. This is incredibly unstable it's-"

"I know." He growled, snatching up the vial. "A chemical cocktail of adrenaline, and concentrated juice samples from Yamma Fruit and the Tree of Might. One drink though... will make me the most powerful being on this planet." He cackled before putting the vial to his lips, the blue liquid pouring into his throat.

Scientific curiosity seemed to overtake the techie as he switched on a recording device and picked up a scouter as well. "A-amazing..." He whispered, watching the alien's power level begin to skyrocket.

For his part, Kaz doubled over, seemingly in agony as his muscles twitched and convulsed under the onslaught. Veins were rising up, becoming visual mars to his appearance. "I-it feels like... I'm on... fiiiiiire!" He screamed, before falling to the ground, punching a hole through the floor as his aura flared uncontrollably.

"F-fascinating..." The scientist whispered, watching without certainty of what else he could do.

"D-doctor..." Kaz moaned from the ground, slowly pushing himself to his feet. Vision was swimming in front of his eyes as he stared at the scientist. "find AS13 and release them... against the humans... we will need all of our advantages."

"... Then we'll need her too, wont we?" He mumbles.

"My thoughts... exactly." Kaz remained unstable as he leaned against the wall, attempting to steady himself. My power... I'm not sure... if I've grown stronger or weaker.

Further into the ship 'she' was turning around already to speak to a messenger. Blond hair waved as she turned around, pushing glasses further up on her nose. "What's going on?" The woman demanded.

As the alien stepped nervously into the room he could see just what kind of person he was talking to. She was a slim female, human much like Doctor Thorn himself. A unitard kept most of her body covered, terminating above the knees and moving up to cover the entirety of her upper body, ending at the neck. A small heart was placed in the center of the chest. Most distinguishing however was not her outfit but her armament. A large mechanical hand taking up the space along her entire forearm. The fist of the hand was larger than her own head. Her feet were encased in a pair of motorized roller blades which spun her as the alien arrived.

"W-well, it seems we're under attack miss." The soldier flinched as she began moving towards him. "We-we're deploying the AS13 and the remnants of our units. It's been requested that you come with them."

The blond woman arched an eyebrow but began skating towards the exit. "I see. Well, if more of you would have consented to the upgrades that we've created we could have dealt with these enemies. What are we looking at for power?"

"Well... we've... we've gotten one read at just around twenty thousand. A-and it seems... it seems her companion is capable of hiding his power level ma'am."

The woman just smirked, adjusting her glasses again. "Well, I suppose it's time to get to the fighting, hm?" She declared, skating off down the ship.

"Well, that was a hell of a thing." Gosai sighed, piling the still unconscious bodies on the ground. "So, we're definitely on the right track though, eh?" He suggested, feeling a bit more comfortable as the situation began flowing into something he was more familiar with... sure, that was constant fighting but it's what he did best.

"How the hell can you be so glib about people trying to kill you?" Azumi demanded, the duo falling back into their more traditional roles with one another.

"Well, it's not all that unusual to me." He shrugged. "I tend to make enemies, y'know." For the human fighter, the entire thing really wasn't all that unusual. At least these days it wasn't.

"Geez, I don't think I'd be interested in living your life." She chortled, nudging one of the unconscious bodies with her foot. "Think they're all this weak?" Azumi queried hopefully to her companion.

"One can only hope." Gosai shrugged. "But really, our luck rarely runs that way."

"Oh no." A new voice chuckled from behind the two of them. As Gosai and Azumi spun around they were confronted by a blond woman in a purple unitard. Metal hand opening and closing as she smirked. "Those were just a few weaklings. Think of them as tests."

Gosai raised an eyebrow, looking her over. "You don't look all that tough yourself."

"Maybe." She laughed, landing on the ground. "But when you add my natural talents with the machines we've managed to create... you'd be amazed what I can do. Like these missiles for example." She laughed, raising up the mechanical arm to fire at Azumi.

"Mesposo!" Gosai shouted, pointing at the missile, detonating it with a ki blast halfway to the human female.

"Well," the woman smirked, turning her attention over to Gosai. "I guess you're the real fighter around here, huh?"

"Just what's that supposed to mean!?" A bewildered Azumi demanded, pointing angrily at the newcomer.

"Simple. He was reacting to my attack before you even registered it happened." The woman smirked, looking back over her shoulder. "Ahh, my companions should be arriving soon. You'll have someone to play with while I deal with your boyfriend." She laughed, rolling her neck around her shoulders.
