I'm sure this suggestion has been made before, but since I'm having trouble telling if it has or not, I'll suggest it. Since androids seemed to be built on Avalon, why not create an android follower or minion? I mean, true, it's not a good idea for someone to be able to buy an android off the wall and then use him as we see fit, but it might be an interesting follower to say the least. A new quest could be made so a good person could earn an android follower from a factory, while an evil person could either steal the android from the factory. OR a new location could be made on Avalon, where androids are built and bought for a large sum. Also, since a machine is, well, technically not capable of learning, you could make it so that the android follower/minions can't grow any stronger, but have an average starting power level, like say 15,000 or 10,000. As a result, the new members could get a minion or follower that's stronger then them, giving them a edge in battles. However, when that new member has grown strong enough, he wouldn't have any more use for the android follower that is still at power level 15,000 or 10,000, and can easily just sell the android so they have a good amount of money for new equipment. ... Okay, so that bit about the unchanging power levels isn't that good, but at least it's something to think about. Well? What do you guys think? |

They have advanced AI that can learn though. They can adapt, predict movements based on past experiences, etc., However, an android would be interesting since I already have it in my history that my character has a droid. It's certainly an interesting concept.

Okay, so trash the idea of an android minion or follower that doesn't grow in strength. However, thank you for the vote of confidence (I think I spelled that right...). I thought it was an interesting concept as well.

However there could be a cap on how powerful they can be. Like perhaps they can't get stronger than 50K or else their circuits will fry? |

That's a great idea, Ryan! Perhaps their starting PL would be 30% of the owner's, and fixed there. They could also use the various android upgrades :] |

Yeah, that sounds good.
No, I think that is a good level cap. It's a follower/minion after all.
Sounds like a good starting power level, but like Pan said, these androids have advance CPU's, so they should be capable of learning and growing stronger. I like the idea that they can use the various android upgrades... however, there should be a limit to it. Having a follower that can learn ki attacks from a down opponent is a bit much. There is also the option of there being several grades of androids too: some with higher power caps, some lower, some that come with several upgrades like the ki cannons and that ki absorbing ability but can't be upgraded anymore, some with no upgrades but can be upgraded as much as you want... I could go on here! |

Do you really want a 100K android that someone can take into battle? A cap on an android makes more sense than a cap on an organic person. Our bodies can better adapt to the power, an android's cannot. They are after all made of metal (as they are not cyborgs). |

Took the words right outta me mouth. Now, the question is should these android followers/minions start off with some upgrades, like say ki cannons and maybe a rocket punch, or shouldn't they? |

I would say they could only have rocket punch, since that's pretty low-level. Ki Cannons could come later on. |

Hm, okay, sounds good. Wait a tic, the upgrade that teaches player controlled androids rocket punch also teaches self destruct. Should the android followers also have self destruct or no? |

Heh, true. Okay, now what type of stuff can they do? Going after rare items is a no, hands down. What about going after dragon balls and partner training? |

I would say maybe they could have a dragon radar installed so they can go after DBs. I dunno about partner training. It would help said android learn faster if they go up against their organic master. |

DB-searching would be an interesting concept for Androids. But maybe they're required to have some kind of upgrade or a certain amount of experience? The standard android, fresh off of the production line, probably lacks creativity and therefore possesses an inability to hunt for anything that might be "hidden", such as the DBs. Partner training could be good. Like, even machines can be used for training - just look at how we use them today, in real life! They can fight, so they should probably be able to partner train, like most (if not all?) minions / followers can. EDIT: Pan... Stealing my ideas while I try to type. XD |

Both of you give good points and ideas. An android that can train with you sounds good, and having it be able to track down dragonballs after it reaches a certain power level sounds good as well. Anything else that we might have to smooth out before this idea it taken another step? The android follower/minion idea seems to be taking shape, and it looks complete to me. ... Well, okay, so it still needs a price tag, but what ever. |

As for a price tag, I think maybe they should be a bit more expensive than an officer simply because of what they are--inorganic. It's like choosing between a horse or a big screen TV. The TV has more technology put into it as well as man-hours put in to build the thing. A horse however has none of that. >.> Yes, I love my analogies and metaphors. |

Some horses cost WAAAAY more than any TV you'll ever find. Generations of genetic culling and selective breeding is worth a fortune. ![]() But I like this idea. Gonna name mine Johnny 5. He's gonna have a story arc where he tries to convince a group of 1980's scientists and the inane fascist military that controls them that he's actually alive. Wait ... that's been done. |

Yes, that has been done. As for price, I agree with Pan. They should be more expensive then an officer. Since an officer costs 2,500... how about an android costs 3,000? Okay, anything else we need to take care of before this concept becomes a working idea? |

HK-47?? Aw man! You beat me too the punch in claiming that one! Query: Since we can only have one officer, and androids will cost more then officers... how about limit of one? |
