Flashes of light lit up the sky at a distance in front of the group as they got closer to their destination. The thunderous echoes of the explosions followed the lights as one travelled faster than the other. The expressions that covered the group’s faces set the mood perfectly as they came to a stop there in the sky above what was once a city. Their saddened faces just stared down at the rubble of Folson City and the two creatures that had torn the buildings and people that had inhabited apart. It was a gruesome scene for any person to witness.

“They destroyed…the whole…city…” The short, white skinned warrior with rosy red cheeks muttered in a saddened and worried voice as he floated there next to a taller blue haired human girl.

The strange looking warrior who had spoke was a person known only as Chao. He had no last name and at one point in time, he had no name at all. It was the name given to him by the man who had created him, however. That was the only way to label the guy who had brought life to him. The boy had no father or mother; he wasn’t even supposed to be in existence if it wasn’t for the power of the Dragonballs. He was like no other being in the universe. He was completely and absolutely one of a kind.

Chao was once a porcelain doll made in a small shop in a village called Hope. It was an irony that he couldn’t quite grasp. His creator had spent day and night there in the shop making doll after doll, but when it had came to Chao, it was something more. The young warrior was special from the first shaving that was ever made on his pale fake skin. He was molded out of love and loneliness by his creator who had spent every delicate second trying to make Chao as close to life like as a doll could get. He wanted him perfect and unique.

All of this was made possible when a man had entered the shop wanting a decorative set made from jewels that he had spent years searching for. The old treasure hunter had no idea just exactly what he had in his possession, however. He held no knowledge that the seven gems that he had were actually the Dragonballs, relics that could grant a wish when collected into a single area. Chao’s creator discovered it on a drunken night as he worked there on the decoration with a single mumbling of wishing for life to be breathed into the doll that sat there on the table in his shop.

Now, Chao found himself there on Planet Earth next to a friend named Bura. It was funny to him, how life had worked out. He was once nothing more, but material. Now he was a trained martial artist and one of the last lines of defense for a planet that had discarded him as something strange and as an oddity. He had discovered, however, that even though he had no actual heart, he had more heart than most of the people that existed.

“There’s…two of them this time, Chao.” The blue haired girl said with a worried voice as well.

Bura was something else. She was never meant to be a warrior or fighter. She was a book worm, or that’s what she had been while she grew up there in West City. Her goal in life was too simply just be a scientist there for the largest name in the business world, Capsule Corporation. That all went to hell when she got tangled up with one misadventure after another through her travels. Time and time again, she had found herself in trouble, just like she was in then. That was when Piccolo had entered her life.

“How can anything do this?” Chao asked as he stared down at the Saibamen.

“Mindless, chaotic creations, Chao, they don’t need a…re…reason…” Bura said then as she shared her gaze upon the green demonic creatures down below.

The blue haired girl’s speech slowed and became s short stutter there at the end of her sentence, however, when her eyes met with those of the monster. The red eyes of the short screaming Saibaman were locked right onto hers. They had been seen by the creatures then and the confrontation, just as the absolute terror, was imminent.

“Here they come, Bura!!” Chao shouted out as the two green creatures bolted from the surface of the destroyed village in enormous speed up towards their two newly sighted victims.

The first Saibaman went blasting off to one side while the other went opposite. The two of them went out far adjacent to the two warriors so that they came up on their sides. Chao, having fought and defeated one before, knew better than to just float there and wait. He dashed across the space in between him and the creature so that the two of them crashed against one another.

The Saibaman snarled in a way that his fangs could clearly be seen behind his curled lips. The small child’s pale fist shot from his black sleeved shirt to swing a quick jab at the creature, but had only found air as the monster vanished with a blur in his wake. A sharp pain, followed by a warm wetness could be felt then against the young warrior’s back as he felt pressure tear into his flesh and the cloth of his green button up shirt. He shrilled in pain as he was forced forward from the clawed swipe.

“Chao!” Bura screamed as she made a gesture as if to go and aid her friend

The girl froze in place, however, when the second Saibaman had made its way in between her and Chao. His red eyes were solid as they stared there at the blue haired girl who floated there in fear. With some sort of high pitched growl, the clawed hand of the Saibaman ripped back as energy started to form there on in his palms. It quickly propelled his clenched orb of forward then at Bura who went into a panic. Her arms curled up in front of her body as if she was performing some sort of poorly formed blocking maneuver. Her body jumped as the explosion detonated…

“Bura!!” Chao screamed then as he turned to see smoke bellowing there where Bura had been.

The two Saibaman began some sort of cackling then that sounded like some sort of twisted laugh as they both stared at the thick black smoke that was starting to slowly dissipate there. Chao, himself, could hardly think of anything else to say or do except to just stare there at the cloud of smoke. That was only an initial reaction, however, because a smile soon creased his face as the laughing of the monsters started to simmer down.

Bura looked up from behind her curled arms that she had used to shield her body. Her eyes had been closed as she had gone to block the energy blast, so she had missed everything that had happened. She was the only one to actually see all that had actually happened then, though, as she looked up to the back of a white cape whipping in the wind being worn on a figure that was enveloped with clearing smoke.

“Pic…Piccolo…?” Bura muttered softly as she saw a familiar friend floating there with his arm extended out to where the blast had exploded.

“Mr. Piccolo!!” Chao said happily as the smoke gave way to the image of his master floating there in his white cape and turban.

“You shouldn’t be here, Bura…What are you thinking? You’re still weak…” Piccolo said then as his head turned slightly and his eyes shifted over to one side as he glared back at her.

“I…I came to help. Someone had to!!” Bura shouted then as the Namekian turned his attention from the girl to the Saibamen.

Filled with rage at the mockery the creature had just gone through, the Saibaman let out a highly pitched scream in irritation. Its hands tensed and its fingers extended to have his claws revealed fully. It rushed there towards the intruder that had ruined all of its fun with every intention of making the Namekian take over the place of the human who was supposed to be killed. Its mouth opened widely as he attempted to come down across the shoulder his target with his fangs.

Piccolo smirked angrily as he waited for the Saibaman to gain its ground in between him and it. Once within arms distance and its guard completely down as it was coming in for a chew at some Namekian flesh, a love he had acquired from his last victim. It had gained no flavor of the warrior’s purple blood, however. Instead, it was only met with a swift punch that had jammed itself right against its exposed face.

Piccolo followed through with his attack. His body had lunged forward and his cape slowly swirled there around his body as his fist forced itself across the creature’s face and slid up the rest of his arm. The Namekians other arm pulled its way up then while his extended arm pulled its way downward out of his way. He swung it up and curled as he tried to send an elbow to the monsters face in the opposing direction that it was already sent. His body just flung itself forward, however, as he swung through a blurred image of his opponent.

Chao couldn’t watch much of what was happening between his master and the other Saibaman, however. His attention was on the one that he was facing, which was on his way to aid its brother in terror. Knowing that one was already bad enough, Chao had to stop the other from getting to Piccolo. His hand rose up underneath his long black sleeve quickly and his finger extended out. A beam shot out from his fingertip to travel through the air towards its final destination, the back of the green monster sending it to the ground below.

Chao wouldn’t let the creature have time to react. Time was something they did not have. He had already battle one of these creatures before and knew exactly what they were capable of. With that on his mind, he blasted down following the creature to the ground below. The whole time he threw punch after punch as the two of them fell and crashed into the pavement of the destroyed city.

Piccolo spun around quickly in search of the Saibaman that had vanished. His eyes scanned from one direction to the other in search of any sign of the monster. By the time he actually picked up on the creature’s Ki signature, he was already being bombarded with two energy blasts that had been fired by the speedy demon.

The Saibaman that Chao had sent flung to the pavement was now scrambling about away from the young warrior. It scurried across the pavement with its claws on its hands and feet scratching the rough surface. Finally, it pushed itself upward so that it stood flat footed on the surface. Its wounds from the squabble with the pale warrior reflected with every bruise and cut, but the same could go for Chao as well, unfortunately.

BAM!

Pavement could be heard cracking and busting from behind where the Saibaman stood. The beaten and battered Chao looked pass the green monster at the debris and dust that had been kicked into the air. The Saibaman shared the same curiosity that its opponent did and was also looking back at all of the commotion caused by the Namekian that had crashed into the concrete surface of the road.

Piccolo could be seen standing up from the crater then. His cape and clothing tattered and burned slightly from the blasts that had detonated on him. The threat had increased dramatically from what was just a few seconds ago. The monsters that the Namekian was facing up against were stronger than any opponent that he had faced before. He couldn’t play with them any longer.

The Namekian warrior reached up with one arm to clasp the collar around his weighted cape. His other arm reached up and over to top of his head to grip on the lining of his turban. With one single swift action, the two arms pulled away yanking on the two garments and tossing them to the ground beside him to expose his purple dogi. The weight of the clothing fell hard to the ground causing the surface of the weakened pavement to crack and shatter underneath it.

Piccolo darted into the sky then towards the Saibaman that Bura had found herself in a struggle with. She wrestled back and forth with an enemy that easily overpowered her. He turned, though to see Chao also now in a conflict with the other Saibaman that was down on the ground. His wounded student was barely holding his own against the opponent. It was clear with the screams of pain that could be heard from the child as he battled the monster.

“Chao, move!!” Piccolo shouted down.

Piccolo pulled his arms back then. Energy started to gather there in his palms as yellow glowing Ki. They pressed forward then releasing a multiple shower of blasts down at the Saibaman as he watched the young pale warrior stumble in his movements out of the way. With every thrust that his arms motioned, more and more blasts fired out down upon the green gremlin. That was not all Piccolo had to offer, however. His muscles began to enlarge and the veins started to pump harder and faster to the point that they could be seen underneath his green flesh with ever action he made. More and more blasts exploded out from his palms to send hundreds of raining energy bolts down on to the Saibaman.

Chao had noticed what was happening. Piccolo was giving an attempt to bombard the Saibaman with an overwhelming amount of Ki. It was a plan that kept the Saibaman at bay and something that Chao felt the need to get on board with. After watching the increase in power shown by his master, he too began to shower down a series of Ki blasts as he pumped out one after another.

As the blasts down below him started to cause a chain reaction of explosions from one side to the other of the destroyed city, Piccolo’s ears twitched as he heard a scream from Bura who was still combating the other Saibaman. His attention turned from the series of detonating blasts to his dear friend to see that she had been snagged by the horrific beast.

Piccolo shot from where he was levitating there in the sky with speed unrivaled by any there on the field at the moment. The Saiba knew nothing of what was happening as his attention remained there on the girl that he had held. Shock completely blanketed the monster, however, when he felt weightless and pressure began to squeeze tightly around its scrawny green neck. It had found itself being strangled there in the air by the Namekian who had freed Bura from the creature.

“You little piece of shit…” Piccolo muttered as he stared onto the Saibaman that was squirming there in his grip while giving off what seemed to be like a chuckle or a laugh.

The Namekian warrior had let his guard down in hopes of freeing his ally, though. For once his emotions had gotten the best of him and he had underestimated his opponent. He couldn’t understand while the creature giggled while being choked by an ever tightening grip. As the nails his began to tear and puncture into the flesh of the monster’s, it leaned forward and let out a scream which had slung a slimy film of spit and bore his fangs for the Namekian. In response to the gesture, Piccolo too, let out a roar that forced the Saibman into silence as he shared his own set of natural fangs.

The Saibaman then forced his arm up to Piccolo’s torso. The heat of the Ki that had been gathering there while it was being held there in place could be felt against the Namekians body. It was too late to do anything at all. The Saibaman had gotten to Piccolo and the blast would hit and cause an explosion that separated the two from their holds on one another sending them both in opposite directions.

Piccolo floated there looking at the Saibaman for a moment. His body motioned hard with his heavy breathing from fatigue in the battle. That was not the only loss that he suffered. His eyes looked down to his side where the blast had impacted. His eyes narrowed as he watched the space of air that filled where part of his abdomen once was. He was bleeding heavily there from where the blast had literally torn a part of him away.

The Saibaman started laughing hysterically in the high pitched voice that they were common for. It found the situation and outcome hilarious in this moment of insanity and chaos. It once again was put to shame as it got quieter and quieter as he watched the Namekian begin to strain under pressure forcing the wound to start to regenerate to almost as if nothing had happened at all.

“You are going to have to do much better than that…” Piccolo said with a smirk then.

The Namekians body relaxed after his wound had completely vanished. His clothing was still tattered and torn, but his wounds that were visible just a few seconds ago were now missing. There only remained spots of dried up blood and that was all to be seen left from the wounds that the Saibaman had inflicted on its opponent’s body after so much time.

The Saibaman finally showed some sort of an emotion other than a senseless and chaotic behavior. It was absolutely stunned in what was happening. The battle had gone on for far too long already compared to its last confrontations, and now it was remaining there half beaten and its opponent almost perfectly fine.

“Bura…you and Chao need to go.” Piccolo said with a solid and stern voice as his eyes never wavered from his deep stare at the enraged Saibaman.

With the last word slipping out between his lips a shockwave of force pulsed from the body of the Namekian as he floated there. The force of the wave smashed outward in the form of a faded green mist of air. The transparent energy made another wave outward from the Namekian as he just lingered there alone and motionless as the wind around the area started to pick up in a violent swirl with Piccolo as the center.

Bura floated there not far from Piccolo. Her fingers trembled as her mind raced back and forth on what to do. It had always been like Piccolo to take things serious and no matter what it was, he always seemed to share any current as the last and the next that would come before him. She had been one of the only people to have ever seen the warrior that people despised actually smile, however. That was something that had opened a whole world of understanding into what went on behind the Namekians eye, those eyes that had buried fear into so many.

The girls blue hair whipped then with a from over her shoulder past her face. The tips of her strands could be seen from her trembling eyes. The feeling of the air was so cold around her. That was when her hair didn’t pull forward with the air anymore and instead turned around to cover her face and pull from the other side. Her nimble fingers came up to brush the side from her temple down then to push the blue locks to the side. A gasp let out as the warning from her friend seemed to be becoming real.

“Chao! We need to go, now!!” Bura screamed out as a blue aura of energy sheeted her body.

The pale skinned fighter turned quickly after sensing something in the air. It was energy massing up above him. He hadn’t known all of the noise that filled the area between the commotion caused by his masters accumulating power and the chattering from one Saibaman to the next. It wasn’t until he saw Bura screaming down to him and her voice couldn’t be heard that opened his eyes and ears.

“What?” Chao yelled back as his wounded body looked up to Bura slowly backing away from Piccolo.

A force exploded from the Namekian that levitated there in the sky then. The wave of pressure impacted against the small warrior’s body, then causing him to slide backwards across the cracked concrete of the once paved streets of the city. He shielded his face against the air that was being thrown against his body with his arms that he had brought up, but his eyes were being forced shut from the increasing torrent. That was when his light weight body finally could not hold there anymore and he felt his feet leave the ground right before being hurled backward to smack into the flat side of debris that had been left from the chaos.

“I’m coming!” Chao grunted with a shout then as realization kicked in.

Chao’s body became enveloped within a white aura as he powered up slightly to make his way out of the storm that was being created there in what seemed like a dome. He flew up passed Bura who didn’t wait much longer to catch up with the child. The whole time she glared back for a few seconds to watch Piccolo become smaller and blurred within the wind and the energy. When she turned back one of those times she took note of the worry in the child. It was common to always see concern in his face, from what she had seen around him, but he never held such concerns for his master. It was strange how he had always held an unwavering confidence in the Namekian. He was one of the few that could actually hold him as anything other than a monster.

A bright light was flashed from behind the two as they hurried through the sky in flight. Not even a second afterwards, a force exploded from that same direction and they knew that it was their friend who had released such a great amount of energy. It had sent them flinging forward and off balanced until Bura had snatched out grabbing her small friend by the back end of his bloodied collar to drag him with her as she landed behind a mound of debris.

Bura’s feet hit the ground and her knees bent. One arm pulled the young warrior down while the other gripped itself to the front of his shirt to pull him onto the other side of her and away from the open edge. The wind and the rocks and other debris that had been picked up from the violently blown air kicked itself there causing them to shield their selves as they hid behind the large object. Just as it picked up a loud explosion could be heard then and not a single things else could be heard or felt…

The two of them remained there for a second in the calm they had found their selves in strangely. Bura’s breath could be heard as she panted heavily. She hadn’t known how much of a frantic state she was in until after it became silent. She found herself there holding on to Chao’s shirt with tightly squeezed fingers. Her chest heaved as she inhaled and exhaled so strongly. Her eyes were locked on to the edge of the large piece of wall that they had both found themselves behind. It wasn’t until the child warrior had pushed himself from her hold so that he could get around the debris before she snapped from her daze.

“Chao, be careful!” Bura screamed out.

Chao couldn’t just sit back there and wait, though. His master had been left there to battle off two of those monsters that had already killed so many. He had faith in the powers that the Namekian possessed, but he knew from his teachings with the warrior that everyone had their limits. Even though, Chao had never even come close to witnessing Piccolo’s limit, he figured that two monsters like these were going to be close. The idea had come to him as both excitement and fear, however. Curiosity wanted him to find out, but then again, he was scared to know just exactly how far his master could actually go.

Piccolo floated there in the dark sky that had come from the outcome of the energy that he had released. Electricity from the energy still zapped and flashed on certain surfaces of material outside and within the large crater that was perfectly spherical there underneath the Namekian warrior. The wind did not blow anymore and his body was still motionless as he just lingered there in the air. Most importantly, however, he was all alone. The threat, though, was still there.

A Saibaman rose up from the debris that he had found himself under. As he slowly pushed his way up from the chunks of concrete and rock, It noticed it’s brother coming out from his own nearly conclusive burial place also. They chattered back and forth in anger as they examined each other’s wounds and conditions. Both of them were showing more than enough ones take from a harsh battle. All of that went away and didn’t affect the mindless creatures, however, after they nodded and began to make their move.

The first erupted from a barely standing building off to one side of the Namekian. As it rose higher into the sky, the building started to crumble and fall beneath him to a crash. It didn’t take much, except for it to wobble the foundation of the structure just slightly to send it to a flatten landmark. From the crashing of the building and the violent scream that the Saibaman gave off, Piccolo turned quickly with a smirk to see that it had survived his blast after all.

“Come on you little shit…” Piccolo whispered as his eyes locked in and narrowed on the Saibaman that was slowly rising to his level of height into the sky.

The Saibaman screamed even louder then as he extended his arm out. Its razor sharp clawed finger extended from his small green hand. Its solid red eyes widened as it pulled energy through its body to propel a beam of Ki from the tip of his finger. The blast bolted from its point of existence and towards its destination so quickly, that it was almost possible to witness, but it was not left unknown. It was a sly tactic pulled by a creature that was left to desperate means, but it failed suddenly as Piccolo released a scream of his own at the wounded Saibaman causing the blast to simply just collide with an invisible force and explode before reaching the Namekian.

That was all just a ploy, however. The two Saibamen had tracked their way in separate directions with the Namekian warrior on their minds. It wasn’t a hunt to them any longer. Their prey had been found and it was now cornered. The only thing, however, is that the warrior they had found was nothing like what they had encountered before. The Namekian was more than the last. He had come to them as a joke, but soon became a threat. There was only one factor that had played into this, too, and they knew of it. The Namekian was just as primal as they were and that had strung terror in their minds for the first time since their creation.

Piccolo turned quickly then as he sensed the signature from the energy that was being propelled form the blast shot by the Saibaman. Even though he had picked up the creature’s action, it was another Mesposo, a technique that moved too fast to ever move from its path, but that didn’t matter as it didn’t impact against him.

“Ugh…” A voice said lowly in a moan.

Piccolo’s eyes grew wide then as the child like student of his slumped there in the sky. The Namekian threw his arms out and caught up the warrior then so that he slouched there being held from under his shoulders. The wound that the blast had made there in his chest poured with crimson blood through the air to splatter there in the cracked crust of the crater. The boy had stood in between the Namekian and the blast out of a reaction of admiration for his master.

“You moron…” Piccolo muttered there as he continued to hold his pale skinned student who laughed a bit causing him to cough up a little blood.

“Thanks for understanding, Mr. Piccolo.” Chao said with a bloodied grin as he remained in the arms of his master.

Though Piccolo acted harshly about what had happened, that was only because he knew no other way to act. This had never happened to him before. Not the physical part, but the emotional part. He had seen people die time and time again, but he had never witnessed someone intentionaly die out of love or affection, and especially not for him. Confusion was beginning to set in as he looked down at the bloodied back of the poor child slumped in his arms.

“I think…I’ll be fine…I just need to lie…down…” Chao said then weakly as he forced his head to look up at the Saibaman who still floated there with his arm extended out pointing at him.

As Piccolo looked up from Chao, his brow cocked up. He turned his head to look out into the distance to see what else was coming. There was another power level heading towards the battlefield and the Namekian feared the worst. As it gained grounded, Piccolo could see that the Saibaman in front of his show a sense of concern. That and the lowered power level compared to the two creatures, Piccolo cancelled the idea of it being another one of them, but that still did not mean it wasn’t a threat until He saw the purple gui and a young teen wearing it. It was Goji.

“Mr. Piccolo!!” Goji shouted out as he got closer.

The young warrior was named as Goji. He was a half-Saiyan that Piccolo had stumbled upon wandering around on Planet Namek looking for clues to where his father, a wandering Saiyan, had gone. After seeing such potential from the child, Piccolo had taken him up as his student, just like Chao. The two of them had been inseparable since the Namekian’s home planet. He had only not been there for that battle because of another threat of Saibamen elsewhere, which could be seen once the warrior stopped there next to Piccolo. His body had quite clearly saw combat recently.

“How did you hold up?” Piccolo asked.

“Decent…” Goji said with a concerned look at Chao who wasn’t making a noise or movement.

“He’s still alive…” Piccolo said calmly then as he watched the Saibaman staring at him and his two students.

The Namekians eyes shifted slowly from the Saibaman that was in front of him to the side back towards the Saibaman who was heavily wounded. Options were growing dull on him and his compatriots. The veteran warrior knew this completely and sadly understood it. This fight was lost. Chao was in a critical state and Piccolo was regretting ever bringing him out of that small village. Goji was not quite prepared to take on two of the creatures no matter what state him, or they, were in. Then there was Bura. She just didn’t belong here…

“You need to take…Look out!” Piccolo started to say, but then ended it with a yell as the Saibaman decided that he was done waiting.

The Saibaman dashed at Piccolo through the air. The Namekian drifted back slowly as he shifted his student to one arm. As he did so he freed one arm to swing out as the Saibaman came crashing at him with a swinging clawed arm. His hand latched on to the creature with his own set of talons cutting into the soft flesh of the monster. He muscle tensed then as he yanked with his arm and spun his body so that he threw the Saibaman in the direction of the other who was also coming towards him.

As he did so he felt a pain in his side. He looked down from the Saibamen who had collided head first amongst one other to look down at his side. There where his torso garment had already been burnt away from a previous blast was a hole with purple blood that oozed from it. That was when his mind traced back to when it had happened. It was the blast that been fired from the Saibaman through Chao. It had gone straight through his friend and through him. Because of its location, vital organs had been hit and regeneration, this time, was useless. Things had gotten worst in that split second.

“Take him!” Piccolo yelled as he held Chao out with one arm by the child’s shirt collar.

Goji’s eyes grew big as he heard something new and different in the Namekians voice. He grabbed ahold to his fellow student with both arms and floated backward from his master with his eyes still wide. A warm wet feeling caused him to look down then to see that his own gui and body was covered in the blood from his friend who was in more of a dire state then he initially thought.

“Alright, Chao. I’m going to get you out of here, buddy.” Goji said softly as he started to float down to the closer to the ground in hopes of finding some spot for him to put Chao.

The young Half-Saiyan turned then after putting Chao to the ground amongst some remains. He looked over his shoulder as he knelt there to witness the two Saibmen up in the sky battling it out with Piccolo. His master was holding his own, but barely. He was completely on the defensive, which was unlike him at all, and the monsters were still getting licks on him. The boy couldn’t help, but smile as it amused him at how the creatures were trying so hard to get the best of the Namekian. It was a feat that seemed impossible to most.

“Goji!” A female voice yelled out.

The Half-Saiyan turned to see a woman with blue hair running towards him and Chao. She too was slightly wounded, but too badly. It was Bura, the Capsule Corporation Engineer that had been helping him find out more about the universe so that he would come closer to finding his father. It was also the girl who had been following Piccolo in search of questions about the Dragonballs. She had become a dear friend to all three of them, even though his master had refused to admit it. He had come to know the Namekian a little better than that, however. He had learned to read in between the lines.

“You’re here too?” Goji asked as he walked up to Bura happy to see her, even under the circumstances they had found their selves in.

“Yeah…” Bura said looking down at Chao.

“I don’t know how bad he is, but I know it’s bad…” Goji said as he shared the same stare at their injured friend.

“I’ve got to help Mr. Piccolo, Bura. Can you…” Goji asked growing quiet as he thought about what was going to be worst, disobeying his master or abandoning his friend.

“I can.” Bura said softly understanding the conflict Goji was in.

“Thanks.” Goji said then looking back up at the Saibamen still battling his master.

Piccolo arched his back as a Saibaman threw a swipe at him with its clawed hand. He let out a smirk then as he felt an opening. His right arm came up and over smashing against the face of the cackling green creature. After landing the hit, his left arm came up to catch the flinging skull of the monster within his palm. He quickly jerked downward bringing his knee up to smash it into the fanged face of his opponent. After the series of quick attacks, the Saibaman could do nothing, but fall backwards while whimpering in a high pitched squeal.

That was only one Saibaman, though, and there were two that the Namekian found himself fighting. The second did not miss a beat, however. Piccolo saw an opening in the first Saibaman’s attacks, but the second Saibaman found his opening where Piccolo had dropped his guard to lash out at the first. That was when he struck out with rage that had been built in since he started preparing for that exact moment. He just reached out with both claws and started ravaging every inch of its targets back.

The blood sprayed up as the Saibaman sliced open the flesh of his prey. The Namekian attempted to turn, but found himself not in much better of a position. The Saibaman held nothing back as he swung violently with his claws. Both of them fell with Piccolo attempting to block with his arms to only have them lacerated also. He could get no attacks in at all and he couldn’t successfully block to manage any success. All he could do was pick his less injured parts to take the relentless hits and was running out quickly.

The Saibaman was enjoying the moment it had found himself in. It and the other Saibaman had gained somewhat of a taste from the Namekian, but it had been a lopsided meal. The warrior had gotten the best of them through the battle and now it was taking back loss ground. As the blood sprayed away with every slash it made, satisfaction for all of the attacks made against it and its brother was setting in and it was absolutely salivating.

It was just not long enough for the monster, however, as a foot came smashing into the side of its face causing the Saibaman to go flinging off through the air and crashing into the ground. Goji looked down at the cloud of dust and dirt that had erupted from the hole that he had just sent the creature in with a powerful kick. He made a jump to start in at his target once more, but was then held back by his master who had regained his balance.

Piccolo turned quickly to grab the young boys shoulder. He pulled his student back behind his own bleeding body then and brought his arm up. He aimed his palm in at the center of the bellowing hole exactly where he locked on the Ki signature of the beasts. He roared as yellow energy swirled from his shoulder to his opened hand in two twisting beams that ended there with a bright series of sparks and flashes to finally explode from his out spread of fingers in two large blasts towards the monster.

The Saibaman looked up through the smoke and debris as he eased his way to his feet. The panted there heavily and with a hunched back. When he straightened out, he heard a chain reaction of bones popping back into place to where they were moved from the violent landing. His eyes stared upward to where he had been attacked, but he didn’t quite see what was happening until the dust started to fade in the air between him and the Namekian. That was when his bright red eye nearly popped from his sockets as the blasts had reached it to detonate into two thunderous explosions.

“Mr. Piccolo…you’re hurt…badly…” Goji said as he reached out to touch the Namekian.

Piccolo snapped out swinging his arm out as if to back hand the young Half-Saiyan warrior. It was just a gesture out of anger to get the child away from him and worked quite well. He exhaled deeply with a long breath then as he floated there with his body mangled from combat. His eyes looked at the frightened student of his. He let out a growl as he turned to look over at the other Saibaman who was gaining his stability for a fight.

Piccolo felt his body failing from the inside out. The battle had taken its toll on him, as well as the others around him. It had taken so much to destroy just one of the creatures that he faced and there was still another to take on. He could honestly say for the first time in his life that he was beaten. He scanned his allies as they were all looking to him for some sort of answer of hope for the annoying situation that he found himself in.

It just wasn’t time just yet, though…

Piccolo’s head popped off to the side causing a snapping noise to come from his neck. He rotated it then slowly from the side until his neck was straight and he was facing the Saibaman to where both of their eyes met. That was when a noise came from below that had caught both of their attention. It was half of the other Saibaman squirming its way from the debris to finally give off a slight screech that began with a sound, but ended with blood as its life escaped its torn body.

Piccolo smirked as he looked back up to the Saibaman then as it had watched its brother take its last pathetic breath. He smiled even more when the living Saibaman let out a blood curdling scream as an outraged reaction. He enjoyed frying the Saibaman, but watching its brother freak out was making the whole battle that much more satisfying to him.

The Namekian and the Saibaman shot forward then at immense speeds to collide in the middle of the sky above the large crater within the destroyed remains of Folson City. They connected together with a series of punches and kicks. Neither one of them worried about defense anymore; instead they just continued striking out with every attack harder and faster in hopes that the next would be the last, but neither found it to be so as they continued to just tear each other apart.

Bura gasped then to when she heard a crash. She looked up from where she was tending to the injured Chao to see a large cloud of dust and rock flying through the air. She started running to that area as soon as she realized that it was Piccolo that had been thrown and not the Saibaman, who was still floating there in the air.

“Mr. Piccolo!!” The blue haired Bura screamed out to the Namekian that she had somehow befriended oddly.

The two’s relationship had struck up as an oddity from day one that they had met each other. From when Bura was a child, she would look over and stare at the Capsule Corporation Complex there in West City in pure admiration. She knew exactly what her life would pertain too and that was to be a scientist for the world famous corporation. It was there where she found the only thing that would top that want, the Dragonballs.

Bura got her dream and became a scientist there for the Capsule Corporation. Her specialty wasn’t the trademarked Capsules or even part of the robotics department. The study that she chased after was a set of magical items that were covering the desk of Dr. Briefs in scattered notes and drawings. All it took was one night of looking over those notes that she had accidentally stumbled on to become completely submersed in a fascination for the relics. That set of relics, which was only left in existence due to the life force of Piccolo, was what had led the scientist to the Namekian.

“That…sorry…son of a…bitch…” The Namekian warrior muttered in a muffled tone of anger as he started to stand back to his feet from the rubble that was only a wishful grave.

Piccolo stepped up and out of the indention that his body had made amidst the debris that he was violently thrown into by the crackling green monster that was floating diagonally in the air from him. His leather sheathed feet padded their way in slow swaying steps forward across the destroyed pavement. Behind each step followed a trail of purple blood that clumped on the ground in splatters.

The amount of the substance that laid there was the product of how badly his wounds were effecting him from this battle that had seemed endless almost. Piccolo had stood there against opponents in combat who had surpassed him in every account of physical strength. That meant nothing to the Namekian warrior, however. He had let them boast and brag and go on with their idle conversations, but when it all came to the shove, he had never let them stand a chance. Now, however, he was outmatched.

The Saibaman screamed out a shrill down to the Namekian who it had just noticed was still alive. It chattered there in high pitched barks to the Namekian as if it was angrily yelling to Piccolo. It had no sense of actual language known to the warrior, but the creatures had seemingly been able to communicate with one another. It didn’t matter to him either way, however. It would soon be silenced…

“You know…all that jabbering is really getting annoying to me.” Piccolo muttered with a bloodied smirk as he stared up at the creature.

Piccolo stood there firmly as his eyes never drifted from the creature. The purple blood that dripped to the debris covered pavement poured there from various wounds from his body. The liquid exited from open wounds that were peppered across his green flesh. They had healed as much as they could possibly could, but he was getting weaker with ever drip of blood and with every breath taken. His natural ability to regenerate was dwindling from working overtime.

The smirk then turned to a snarl as the Namekians eyes were still locked onto the creature. Once a side of his mouth exposed his fanged teeth bolts of electricity started to spark there around his body. The flashes lightened the darkened area around him. The energy danced there from his body and over it to the still air around him and then to even skipping across the ground. All of it flashing for just a brief second to give way to another streak that appeared for a short moment as well.

“I have to hand it to them both…They have accomplished something that hardly any have even come close to manage.” Piccolo said with a snarling smile.

Even though the Namekian warrior had come to hate the idea of actually being defeated, he quite honestly was filled with happiness. Countless battles and only a small palm sized amount of them had actually been taken serious. None of them, however, had ever been a challenge. This one had been, though. A challenge was something that Piccolo had searched for and now he had finally found it. These simple minded creatures that were mindless and unintelligent had brought this wish of his to him. They were nothing more except for a fleshy pod of primal fury.

The Saibaman grew silent as it too shared the stare to return it back to its only opponent. The Namekian was power up. His energy was becoming unstable right there around him in the form of electricity. It was an odd sight for the creature to witness. An alarming sense then crashed into his mind as he realized what was happening. The Namekian was planning on ending the battle right then. It didn’t know or understand how, but it was no fool to what was happening around it.

The Saibaman brought its left arm up then to extend out straight towards the Namekian. His right arm curled from across his body to have the sharp white talons clench themselves around the other arms wrist. The monsters muscle tensed up then as energy was beginning to gather there in its palm of the left hand. It only took a matter of seconds for the tiny speck of Ki to enlarge itself there in its resting place into a sphere that was easily twice the size of the small green creature.

Piccolo’s eyes grew large as he sensed the power that was being centered into the attack. The Saibaman was attempting the same tactic that he was going for. Both of them knew that the battle had lasted too long. They both knew that it would have to end soon or they would both be destroyed in some fashion. The only thing that was left to do was to take a gamble at survival by releasing a last resort, or trump card, against the opponent that would ensure victory. Something that was both taking place right there underneath the gray skies that blanketed the destroyed remains of Folson City.

In that one instant the two entities that were encompassed with energy radiated a bright lingering flashed that filled the areas around them and the space in between them as their attacks were victim to a large explosion as they collided against each other. The product of the severity in both attacks gave way to the explosive power of the two blasts to utterly destroy anything within two hundred feet from the center of it all.

Bura turned as the flashes from the released energy covered the area. Her boots stomped across the terrain heavily as she ran towards where Chao was laid in rest from his critical condition. That was when her feet stopped moving and her boots slowly came to a planting stop there on the concrete of the old city. She stood there as a rush of hot air hit her back causing her loosely worn tattered clothes and blue hair to whip forward with the force of the torrent. She turned slowly then moving the hair from her eyes as she took witness to the onslaught of energy take place between the Namekian and the Saibaman.

A feeling struck the blue haired girl then. It was a shock of concern and sympathy mixed with worry. Her actions became incontrollable then as she started sprinting towards the flashing output of raw energy. The Scouter, which was given to her as a present from Goji that she had to rebuild, was reading back and forth. The speedy increases and decreases in the numbers was a sign that there was no control or stability in the Ki at all then. The two of them, both of them, were releasing every ounce of energy that they could havest.

Piccolo would die if Bura did not do something…

In that instant, Bura turned her previous destination of Chao to the Namekian. She sprinted wildly towards the Namekian who was caught in the storm of Ki. The energy that was dancing around wildly in the shape of a large dome began to tear at her body as she was getting closer and closer to the Namekian who was straining to maintain some sort of balance between his own attack and the attack of the Saibaman. It was almost unbearable to the human woman to go through the energy that was cutting at her, and occasionally even knocking her to her feet, but she a calm feeling blanketed her body as she felt her arms wrap there around the body of the Namekian.

Piccolo looked down after he felt that sudden nudge against him body. He stood there with his eyes examining the blue ball of hair that was pressed against his chest. He could feel the girl shake there against him out of fear. Her eyes were clenched shut tightly and her arms were thrown around him in interlocking fingers. His facial expression did not change as he stared down at her amidst the commotion of the struggling energy. Not even when she looked up at him in absolute care.

Those eyes…were the last thing the Namekian saw before the entire area gave way to the massive explosion…

Those deep blue eyes…

The Namekians body jumped as he awoke there in the cold darkness. He gasped heavily for air in that short quick moment. His muscles stung from the core to his flesh as they began to work for his body as he turned and curled there. They jumped randomly their under his flesh as his veins protruded up to be seen as the blood made their way through them causing a slithering look. Everything ceased then as his body tensed up as the Namekian let out a ferocious roar in response to the sudden pain his body was in.

Piccolo went quiet then with only his heavy panting to be heard there as he held himself up there on all fours. His eyes closed for a moment as they were trying to get adjusted to actually seeing light for the first time in he didn’t know how long. Not just light, however, even just the ability of sight. He had been gone since that fateful day, with no trace of memory in between, just a collection of memories and people. In a cruel realization then he realized what was happening.

Piccolo was alive…

“What the hell…?” Piccolo mumbled as he started to get to his feet and make his way down through the short tunnel outside.

Piccolo stood there at the mouth of a cave that rested on the side of a plateau that overlooked the grassy covered plains of Planet Namek. It was not Planet Earth, and he was not dead…

“How the hell did I get here?” Piccolo asked himself even with it being known to him that there would be no answer given in his own company.

That was when the Namekian warrior felt a connection with something, or someone there on the planet. It was a strange feeling. It almost seemed like it was…himself that he felt across the planet. Curiosity was striking him as so many feelings and emotions, both physical and mental, were bombarding his body and mind.

Answers needed to be sought out…
