Namekian children laughed and played in a wide open field that was easy to look over from a village. Leaning against one of the buildings, Babosa watched over the group of children. He wasn't supposed to, not that he wasn't allowed, but he was keeping an eye on them. He was cautious about approaching any of them after an incident where he took a class with the group. Pushing himself off the wall, Babosa decided he'd rather not spend time with the children. He was a warrior, and even though he wanted to make it up to the children, he needed to train more if he was going to protect them. Knowing how well the kids were with ki, he decided it'd be best to take off on the other side of the village, where they wouldn't see or sense him. Strolling through the village, Babosa looked around. He had never spent much time in a village since he left his original one. He knew from class that most adults should be hard at work, trying to better the village and make life easier for the next generation. However, none of the adults seemed to be at work. Something he found curious. Arriving at the other side of the village, Babosa was met with a surprise. The missing adults were standing around a large, white arena that was circular in design. It was around the same size as one of the buildings. Babosa had never seen something like this in any of the villages he had seen. Walking up to one of the Namekians, Babosa asked "What's going on here? What is this?" The Namekian, one who was definitely of the warrior class, gave Babosa a grin. "A tournament. A number of us warrior Namekians have decided it'd be fun, and good practice, to fight against one another in a controlled, yet unique enviroment. You see, each round, we're going to add some obstacle or twist to the battle to liven it up" "Hmm, a tournament. This does sound like good training. Is anyone allowed to enter?" Babosa asked. "Sure. Just sign up and you'll be put in a bracket" the Namekian assured him, pointing to a small podium with a sheet of paper and a writing utensil on it. Word Count: 380 Word Total: 380 |

"Warriors and workers alike, please enjoy today's tournament! We have had a great turn out for our first weekly tournament!" a Namekian wearing a blue vest and white pants, flying above the small crowd of Namekians that were waiting to watch the first match. "In our first match of the day, we have a Namekian from the village of Kumor, Flude!" the announcer exclaimed, a roar of cheer and excitement from the Namekians as they celebrated a bare chested Namekian with red pants. "Fighting Flude, we have have a nomad among our Namekian brothers, Babosa!" the crowd, while unsure who Babosa was, still gave cheer, not wanting to the spirit to lessen. "In the first round of the tournament, the contestants must battle with both hands tied behind their backs! It'll be interesting to see what they do to win" the announcer explained. Two Namekians walked up behind the contestants, putting their arms together and binding them with a gold cloth. "Now, are both contestants ready?". Flude and Babosa both nodded, licking their lips in preparation for the battle. "Alright then, fight!" Flude and Babosa kicked off the ground, flying toward each other. Their foreheads collided, creating a thick thud, but neither backed down. Flude grinned as electric sparks crackled from his antenna, shocking Babosa. With his resolve weakened for a second, Flude jumped up, spinning at the same time, and kicking Babosa in the face. Sliding across the arena, Babosa put all his weight on his heels, keeping him from sliding all the way off the edge. Flude didn't let up though, and ran forward, ready to continue his attack. Babosa simply stepped aside and put out his leg, causing him to trip off the arena. Turning his back, Babosa smiled, believing the match was over. Instead, Flude kicked off the ground, allowing him to perform a flying headbutt into Babosa's back. "Agh! What gives!? You stepped out of the arena!" "Did you hear anything about the arena being the only place we could fight? The only rule right now is that we have to fight without use of our arms" Flude replied. Frowning, Babosa ran forward, energy flowing around his body. Flude prepared for it and jumped above Babosa, letting him fall out of the arena. Flude grinned, turning his body to attack again. When he looked down though, he found Babosa was gone. Confused, Flude looked about, trying to find where Babosa had gone. Then, he noticed a shadow next to his, and looked up. Babosa was above him, descending from a jump, with energy still around his body. The energy quickly condensed to Babosa's left leg, which he used to perform a swift kick. Flude forced himself down, allowing himself safety from an injury on his torso. The kick still made contact with his arms, plowing through them at the elbows, disconnecting the forearms and hands from the rest of the arms, now just stumps. Landing, Flude looked at Babosa with a scowl. "You think that did anything? I wasn't allowed to use my arms anyways, so I'll just wait until later to regenerate them. If anything, you lightened my load" "Actually, the announcer said that we have to fight with our hands tied behind our backs. Technically, your hands are no longer tied behind your back, which disqualifies you" Babosa explained. "What!?" The crowd and competitors looked to the Namekian in the sky. "Uh, well, technically, that is the rule. Since your hands are no longer tied behind your back, you lose. Think we may have to edit that rule later though" Growling, Flude casted a ferocious look at Babosa, who was now removing his bindings. "You won by default this time, but I'll tell you this. The next time we fight, I'll be able to rip you apart, hands or no hands" Casting a slightly uneasy, but tough look at Flude, Babosa replied "The next time we fight, I'll be stronger than this, and I won't resort to technicalities" Word Count: 665 Word Total: 1045 |

"Well, we had some interesting fights in round one, along with an upset where Kumor's champion Flude lost by disqualification to Babosa, but now we move on to round two! And starting it off, we have the very same Babosa facing off with another nomad, Mushi!" The crowd cheered as Babosa and Mushi, a surprisingly short Namekian wearing only a purple robe, stepped onto the arena. "In this round, competitors will be fighting while wearing some of the village's heaviest weighed boots and wrist bands! If they can move at all, it's likely they won't be moving fast!" the announcer declared. Babosa and Mushi stood as a group of other warriors struggled to bring the weighted clothes over. While Babosa couldn't feel any differences with the boots immediately, the second the wrist bands were on, his bent forward, his arms colliding with the arena ground. "Th-this is impossible! I'm not ready for weights like these!" Babosa exclaimed in surprise and frustration. Mushi on the other hand, seemed to be strong enough to wear the weights without falling forward or anything. "Now, lets get this fight started!" Babosa's eyes widened as the fight started. Mushi slowly moved forward, lifting his arm barely, but shaking was noticeable. It appeared that while Mushi was able to handle the weights, they still slowed him down considerably. Unfortunately, Babosa was completely incapacitated with the weights on his body. His mobility was far worse than Mushi's, so it would only take a few moves to take him out. WOOSH! Babosa's eyes widened once more. Mushi's hand, while lowered now, had the familiar glow of ki from it. He had just fired an attack that only barely whizzed by Babosa's head. "It appears I need to work on my aim with these on, but I should be able to deal with it enough to take you out. You're obviously just lucky. Your match against Flude was a fluke. Against me however, you won't be able to remove my weights and disqualify me, so you're at an end" Mushi stated, not too loud, but loud enough that Babosa heard him. "I-I don't care. I'll find some way to win" Babosa stuttered, instantly cursing himself. He looked so weak in a situation like this, and the stutter hadn't helped. Kizu and Flude both put him to shame already, and the fact that Mushi was moving while he couldn't put him lower. He wouldn't be able to fight these other Namekians if he couldn't increase his strength. Then it clicked. Strength isn't the only factor, there's tactics. That's how he beat Flude. Thinking quickly, Babosa extended his arms, the initial force of it with his arms already on the ground pushed his body up, causing his legs to follow. Doing his best to push forward and swing his legs over his head, he was able to fall right in front of Mushi, his weighted boot covered feet landing right on the Namekian's shoulders. Mushi was tough though, and his shoulders didn't break. Still, the impact was rough, shaking him a bit. Then, using what strength he had, Babosa lifted his arms and contracted them, the force at which they did so caused his arms to whip forward, hitting Mushi in the chest, knocking him over as he coughed up the purple blood that was known to flow through Namekian veins. With his hands still on Mushi, Babosa spread his fingers and began firing as many ki blasts as he could muster up. When he was finished, he let the announcer come down and look at Mushi. The Namekian's eyes were glazed over, showing he lost consciousness. "And there we go, Babosa moves on once more, creating a stunning upset!" Word Count: 619 Word Total: 1664 |

"Thank the dragon we are having fun today everybody! Round two is over and we're moving on to round three! While the weights last round were fun, it's time we move into some real obstacle issues. But first, lets introduce the pair starting this round off! Say hello to Babosa and his opponent, Bluja!" Babosa focused his attention on Bluja. A larger than average, muscular Namekian with a toga like blue cloth on his body. He seemed cocky, as he quickly pointed to Babosa and made a throat-slitting motion. "Now, with round three, we have a massive obstacle, literally. Behold!". The announcer motioned to a large object that descended from the sky, surrounding the arena. It looked like a large, dome cage, made of some sort of metal with spikes all over it. "Our very own Elder Guru contributed to the creation of this cage, making it nearly indestructible! Our competitors will be fighting in it, and it shall not be removed until one gives either gives up or can no longer move! Now, lets get going!" Bluja decided to go straight into battle, while Babosa decided it'd be safer to bide his time until he could come up with a strategy. So while Bluja began swinging and shooting ki blasts at him, Babosa took to running about, dodging the attacks. Thankfully for him, it seemed that the extra mass on Bluja made his movements slower, so he wasn't that hard to overcome in speed. "Quick guy, aren't ya? Don't think it'll last though! I'm one of the strongest warriors on all the planet! Once I get you in my hands you're toast!" Cursing under his breath, Babosa mumbled "I can't keep this up forever. Speed's on my side, but a guy as large as him likely has more stamina than me. I'll tire out while he'll only get slightly less active. Then he'll take me down. I need to find some way to end this quickly, but now?" Looking around, Babosa had very few options. The cage was a horrible addition for him. He had limited room to work in, especially with this larger Namekian, and he couldn't run anywhere that wasn't open for Bluja to attack. Steel bars and spikes, a horrible thing for him... That was it! Running over to one of the cage walls, Babosa turned around and pointed at Bluja. "I don't care how big or strong you are Bluja, you're a horrible excuse for a Namekian if you're just going to run around and be a berserker!" "How dare you speak ill of me!? I'll show you" Bluja roared, pulling his fist back before extending it forward. Babosa grinned and dodged, letting the fist hit one of the spikes, piercing the fist. Growling as he returned his arm to its original length, Bluja grabbed his injured hand and ripped it off. He had no use for an injured appendage. He quickly regenerated the hand and turned his focus on Babosa. "Smooth move Bluja, your stupidity isn't just an insult to our race, but it's harming you" Babosa taunted, a cocky tone in his voice. Once more, Bluja growled and attacked. This time firing a barrage of ki blasts. Babosa dodged with ease. While he wasn't able to injure Bluja that time, he made him waste his energy on those attacks. Thankfully, Bluja was more adept at physical attacks, so his ki attacks were slow. "Surrender now Bluja, you're just embarrassing yourself" Angered further, Bluja shot forward, ready to rip Babosa in half. Again, Babosa dodged, jumping over Bluja, and kicking off the back of Bluja's head, forcing his body into the steel cage, piercing parts of his body with the spikes. The strong, steel spikes made Bluja's movements very limited, even if he had the energy and will to move. The slowly began struggling backwards, to get out of the spikes. Babosa had no intention of letting this happen without repercussion. Blast after blast of ki shot into Bluja's back. By the time the large Namekian had wriggled himself off the spikes, he was too weak to fight, and fell on the floor. "Well, well, look at what happened, Babosa moves on once more! This tricky guy keeps it going!" Babosa turned his back on Bluja, as a pair of Namekians walked past him to help Bluja. As he left, Bluja said something. "You may c-call me an insult to our race for being less than i-intelligent, but you're the ultimate insult f-for being cold" Word Count: 751 Word Total: 2415 |

"Here we are folks! The semi-finals! This is the last round before the final round, which will hold our top two competitors. But first, we have to have our contestants battle it out in this round. And who better to start this off with our dark horse Babosa against the local champ, Riruno!?" Babosa ignored the cheers of the crowd as he tried to steady his nerves. His limbs were shaking in excitement and fear. Excitement from the fact that he could actually win this tournament, which would be a huge stepping stone for him considering what Namekians have competed. But he was afraid because if his last opponents were tough, then those remaining would be even tougher. Riruno, a Namekian with a black mantle and white pants, was the champion from this village. Considering he was one of the ones who orchestrated the event, he had to be powerful. "Now, for this round, we've got a very simple, yet painful obstacle. You see, while both competitors duke it out, I will be playing this" the announcer explained, holding up a small, silver instrument that Babosa had never seen before. "This instrument, called a whistle, was brought to me by a visiting human. On Earth, it's a simple device, but to us Namekians, it's a weapon of torture. At this time, I would like for all Namekians who will be watching to put in the cotton we were handing out before" Babosa frowned as the crowd put in some cotton. Things didn't look too good. "Alright everybody, time for the round to begin!" the announcer shouted, although it wasn't likely that the crowd heard him. The announcer blew the whistle, and while both Babosa and Riruno had been ready to fly forward and assault their opponent, the sound of that whistle threw them off. Never before had either combatant heard such an annoying and painful noise. Babosa fell to his knees, trying to distract himself from the pain in his head with pain in his legs. It worked for a little bit, allowing him to look up in time for Riruno to kick him square in the jaw. Despite being thrown back a bit, the pain in his jaw was able to override the pain the whistling caused. Looking back to Riruno, Babosa saw that the opposing Namekian had removed his own ears. "You tricky-" SLAM! Another harsh blow was landed in his chest. Things weren't good. Babosa had won his previous fights by being the smarter combatant, but here, Riruno was the first to overcome the obstacle and attack. Chances were that even if he was able to get rid of his own ears to even things, Riruno's early start would make it nearly impossible to win. The loss of the Namekian hearing, one of the highest in all the known universe, made the damage that would be taken to Riruno nothing, much like a certain Namekian who fought another Namekian long ago. Losing one great thing to get rid of one great flaw was too much... Wait, that was it. Looking toward Riruno, who was running forward to attack, Babosa jumped into the air to dodge. Riruno looked up to try and find Babosa, but found his sight blocked by one of Namek's three suns. The bright sun's glare seemed harsher than usual, to Riruno at least. This was because that with hearing gone, Riruno's other senses had been improved, so his sight took in more of the blazing ball of gas in all its brightness. With his hearing gone and his sight useless at the moment, Riruno was wide open to Babosa's assault. Since Babosa's Bukujutsu wasn't that great yet, he had to come down, but he thankfully had the advantage. Using the spare time to rip his own ears off, Babosa was free to fire numerous ki blasts and deliver a number of punches. Even though his blows weren't as strong as they would be since he was still a bit weak from Riruno's attacks, but because Riruno was dazed from the blinding it allowed him to get in a number of shots. By the time Riruno had recovered from the blinding, he was already in a worse position than Babosa. "Hehe, damn. Here I thought I was the smart guy, ripping my ears off to avoid the pin of that noise" "You were smarter, at least for a moment. If I didn't take all the senses into account, I'd be the one losing" Babosa responded. Chuckling, Riruno said "True. I guess this is it. Game over for me". Babosa watched Riruno leave the arena, something the others didn't understand because they still had the cotton in their ears. He was concerned though. Even though Riruno had given up, he still had a lot of extra stamina. Babosa was lucky he just gave up. Word Count: 808 Word Total: 3223 |

Silence filled the air. Where there had been cheering before, there was only silence. The excitement of the final round, and the final match, was so grand that they had to let it build up for one immense cheer for whoever one. Opposing Babosa in this final round was a Namekian named Zimo. He looked like an average Namekian with a yellow vest and red pants. However, his left antenna was but a small stump, indicating it had been lost in some kind of incident. Babosa wasn't sure what happened to it. He didn't know if an antenna could be regenerated, and if it could, what kind of thing would prevent it from regenerating. "Now, folks" the announcer said calmly, yet loudly enough for everyone to hear, breaking the silence. "With the final round here, Zimo and Babosa will be competing for the title of the first Weekly Champion. In this final round, we have saved the most intense 'obstacles' for this. Would our 'obstacles' please step toward the ring?" Babosa looked around, seeing a number of Namekians step around the ring. He was confused until he realized something. All of the Namekians there were those that had lost in the previous rounds. "The final obstacle is that you two must compete while those who have already lost attack you with ki blasts. Get ready, because the final match begins now" Babosa and Zimo immediately started their match, not attacking their opponent, but dodging attacks from previous opponents. Considering the number of former contestants, there was a lot of ki being shot around. Babosa could tell that Flude, Mushi, Bluja, and Riruno were focusing their attacks on him in particular. At the same time, it seems that four other Namekians were focused on Zimo, likely those he defeated in the previous rounds. Then Babosa remembered that he needed to be focusing his time on Zimo. It was tough though. The ki blasts were so numerous that he'd definitely get hit if he even tried to hit Zimo. Even Zimo had to focus on his time on the ki rather than his opponent. Babosa had to break his focus on Zimo for a second to deflect an oncoming blast. While he had other things to deal with, Babosa watched the blast fly off. Something he took notice of quickly though was that the blast had flown over Zimo by five feet or so. There he had it. The way he would win this round. Dodging a few more blasts, Babosa saw another oncoming one and covered his hand in ki for protection. Then, hitting the blast at an angle, he deflected it over to Zimo. It was closer this time, but it was off a bit. Unfortunately, his focus on deflecting a shot toward Zimo let two shots hit him. Shaking them off and getting back into his previous position. Finding another good one, Babosa deflected it, and hit Zimo in the leg this time. It wasn't much when it came to damage, but the fact he got hit shocked him a bit, letting two more ki blasts to hit him. As much as Babosa wanted to bask in the victory, he had to dodge some blasts directed at him. With Zimo back on defense against other attacks, Babosa looked for more blasts. The last one was good, but he needed something more. So after dodging a number of blasts he could have deflected, he found two blasts coming from different angles that would be perfect. Deflecting both blasts, he was able to hit Zimo's leg once more, as well as his face. The double hit really distracted him, letting a large number of blasts to hit him. While it wasn't enough for him to get beaten, it was enough for Babosa to prepare his own attack. Since he was still avoiding attacks, he had to cut back on power, but it was enough. Firing the shot, Zimo was unprepared for the ki blast, and found himself tumbling across the stage, his lowered defense making him wide open for a number of other attacks. Getting hit by a number of attacks, Zimo was purely defenseless. While this was great for Babosa to win, he felt it wasn't right. He was the other finalist, he should have been in a better position. Sighing, Babosa decided what needed to be done. Shooting across the arena, he quickly grabbed Zimo, taking a few hits himself, and landed outside the arena. "Contestant Babosa, please step back in the arena with Contestant Zimo" the announcer asked. "I can't do that. He's injured. It's... it's not right to let him get knocked around like this" Babosa admitted, not liking this, it felt too... soft for him. "If you insist, then I'm afraid I have to disqualify you" "No, don't" Zimo protested, getting out of Babosa's arms and on his own feet. "He's being a nice guy. A nice guy deserves to win for once. I forfeit". Looking back at Babosa, Zimo grinned. "Thanks for the hand out there. Maybe next time we can have a regular fight, just to two of us" A little shocked at his opponent's forfeiting, Babosa nodded. "Well, since your opponent forfeited, I have no choice be to declare Babosa the champion of the first Weekly Tournament!" the announcer shouted, the crowd cheering with him. Babosa looked around, seeing the cheering faces. He grinned, happy to have made a name for himself, even if it was something as simple as a weekly tournament. Word Count: 920 Word Total: 4143 |
