"This is ridiculous! I cant believe this stupid planet doesn't have more shade!" Murmured the teal-headed young lady.

Very few clouds littered the vast blue sky that hung high above, but there was ample sunlight streaming down! That was Namek's quirk, it had two suns. Which meant there was constant sun, leaving very little variety to weather. To make matters even worse, Namekian tree's barely provided any relief. If any! They were frail, bushy things. Ugly too, thought the female. But that was a completely different issue altogether.

Bra felt herself getting hotter than she would like, something that irritated her perhaps more than the lack of control she had over the situation. The capsule corps ship the half-saiyan was traveling on had a malfunction - or something like that. Technical problems were hardly her thing. One thing was clear in her mind however: Her mother was going to get an intense bitching for sending her daughter on a defunct ship!

The young lady was so lost in thought, she hadn't noticed the domed, ivory white buildings sitting in the near distance! It was surely a village of Namekians, at least she knew that much about the planet. Her mother, Bulma, had been here once before, so Bra had heard more than a few stories about the green planet. Bra feared she too, would have to go through similar ordeals.

Regardless, the sight of 'people' was very welcoming! Surely they had food, and water that wasn't a tingy green color, and that had only who knows what floating around in it! Bra quickly adjusted her slightly disheveled hair. The Saiyan princess would have to look good, although it was hard for her not to, she thought with a smirk.

The grass beneath the princess' feet became more solid dirt than short-haired grass the nearer she got toward the huddle of domes. Rows of strange plants were neatly laid in parallel lines, it quickly became obvious the Namekians took great care of these things. Whatever they were.

The moment Bra had entered within the village confines she was met with looks of fear and distrust. Smaller children Namekians were huddled into the green arms of their parents, and forced into the safety of their own houses. Whatever business was going on in the village was suddenly halted, due to the teal-haired half human. Humph! So much for a warm welcoming.

Bra suddenly felt a presence moving closer to her, rather than away! The saiyan princess spun around on her heels just fast enough to catch a strange looking namekian striding toward her. Unlike the others who fled, this one had a much different look about him, a battle hardened look, it was easy to see. He donned a simple outfit of white training pants and a carefully folded piece of cloth around his neck, like all Nameks appeared to wear.

As the village guardian neared closer to the strange half-saiyan, his eyes locked onto her. "If you plan on causing any troubles, I suggest you leave right now. We don't have any of the dragonballs here." Bluntly stated the green alien.

"How rude!"

Bra silently rested both hands on her bare hips and rudely rolled her big blue eyes. "I don't care about your dragonballs! I want food and water. And somewhere to sit down where it's not 95 degrees! A change of clothes would be nice, but judging from the styles I see here I guess I'll just have to suffer," Shouted the princess, whom was practically ranting to the guardian now.

"I.." Stumbled the Namekian with his words. It was clear the saiyan's attitude caught him off guard. She didn't seem the heartless, 'slaughter the village' type like some of the characters that came through. Elder would know what to do, however. He was wise, and much better suited at these types of things, thought the guardian. "This way..."

Bra was led to one of the smaller buildings, that was dead in the center of the village. Despite there being no visible beings outside, beside herself and the namek that now lead her, she still felt herself being watched. The guardian pushed open the ivory colored door with ease, stepping aside to allow the saiyan guest in.

"Elder." Coughed out the Namekian. "We have a guest..."

"Thank you, Snare." Replied a much deeper, but wiser sounding voice. The guardian Namek bowed to the waist and left without so much as another word, to stand by the door until called upon once more. In the streaming light, Bra was able to clearly see the elder namek now. He was much older than the namekian who had escorted her, which would explain the title of Elder. Lines of apparent age seeped deep within his dark green skin, and the once muscular arms sagged ever so slightly. Years of un-use, Bra quickly decided. A long wooden staff lightly thudded against the hard ground, carrying the Elder toward the female who stood silently waiting.

"I apologize for the rudimentary welcome. Our little village here is most distrustful of strangers. As you may know, all those that come here do not do so with the best of intentions," Chimed the elder in a firm voice.

"Gee, well I haven't blown anybodies head off. I just want to get some water and maybe food! I haven't found a pool or puddle of water that didn't have disgusting things in it yet! Did you know that there's crabs out there HALF the size of me?" Exclaimed the half-saiyan princess.

"Yes, I'm aware. We can provide you with some supplies. In addition, I have a proposition for you! It mutually benefits the both of us. We get a small task done, and you prove your loyalty to the namekian race." Said the wise Elder. The young girl seemed brash, yet helpful in her own way.

Work?! Bra knew it was going to be work. Perhaps the last thing she wanted to do right now become someone elses slave. However, as distrustful as everyone was toward her, there were few options. The female let out a long winded sigh and reluctantly nodded her head.

"Fine. If I REALLY have to," Snapped the younger female. Her voice was low, in such a way she hoped the elder would take pity on her and somehow make everything how she wanted it.

Almost disappointingly, it didn't work. A cheeky smile spread across the wrinkled green face at her agreement. Re-appearing from the shadows once more, the elders guardian carried two skins, which Bra excitedly eyed as water! The guardian passed them off to the female, then disappeared once again into the darkness. Bra, having an aching thirst, gladly took the skins and quickly gulped down nearly half of one!

"Ahem." Politely coughed the old elder. "As for your end of our bargain, our plows are currently in dire need of repair. That's where you come in, I would be most grateful if you could collect some lumber for us," Softly spoke the elder.

Cutting down tree's? Not a problem! Especially considering she wouldn't have to 'cut' anything down. Simple!

"Fine, I guess we have a deal." Said the teal-headed teen. As she spoke, Bra tucked away the skins of water into a black Capsule Corp bag that neatly slung over her shoulders. Beside the bag and a few well prepared capsules that were tucked away, it seemed like she had nothing. "I'll be back in a bit!" Shouted Bra, with a wave, followed by a dash outside, back into the heat.

"I wonder what Goten is up to? I bet he had to do something lame like this in order for these people to trust him!" Bra thought, with a slight chuckle. The two of them had traveled to Namek together, but after they crash landed, decided to split up to explore the green planet. And hopefully find a way to repair their ship!

Once more for the day, the two suns perpetually beat down on the half-saiyan. Constantly reminding her of the major downfall of Namek, at least in Bra's opinion. Maybe it was the fact she now had water with her, or maybe it was the serene feeling breeze that now swept over everything. Either way, it didn't really matter...because it was nice now.

"Hm. Trees...I could have sworn I saw some around here. I guess not, though.." Bra whispered to herself only. She looked around the village outskirts, expecting to see many trees, but they were frail, weak things. Certainly nothing that would work for the task the Namekians needed. With no other choice, the half-saiyan began her journey away from the village in search of suitable trees.

This place wasn't too bad, not nearly as bad as it seemed when she first landed here, at least. Much of the terrain reminded her of Earth, but with a slight pallet change. While walking Bra found her fingers hooked onto the rear top of her mini-skirt, and humming lightly to the sounds of water splashing against the edged landscape. As the half-sayain rounded a corner into the clearing beyond, she saw it! Jutting up like two fangs from the ground sat a pair of nicely aged trees. These would be perfect! Seconds later she was staring down the decently sized trees, wondering the best course of action to take them down.

Despite not being much of a fighter, the saiyan princess was more than physically capable of taking down a simple tree. After all, her father was the prince of all saiyans. Bra lifted her knee towards her stomach slowly, and with a surprising speed, slammed it down into the tree at a slant.

Cruncchhhh!!!!

Almost like a red hot knife through butter did the females booted foot travel through the trunk, snapping and breaking underneath the immense pressure. Again the crunching sound echoed out through the air as her foot slammed through the other tree. Both of the trunks slammed into the ground almost simultaneously, with a loud crash! The jagged ends of the tree splintered outwards failed to provide a suitable area to grab onto, so Bra went around front and searched through both of the puffy green mess of leaves to search for a branch that was thick enough.

"Ugh! Are there any spiders in here? I sure hope not...or I'm going to flip!" Muttered the peering girl. Once satisfied there wasn't any visible, vile insects, Bra wrapped her fingers around the branches and began the journey back towards the small village. Both trunks slid across the terrain with relative ease. Of course, with the guidance of the female hand.

After what seemed like hours upon hours, the small village came in sight! A most welcome sight indeed, as her hands were starting to get sweaty, gross. As she entered the premises of the village, the Namekians did not pull away and retreat into their coves like last time. They did keep a wary eye on the female though, as their trust wasn't instant.

"Looks like I'm making new friends already," Muttered the female, to nobody but herself, just as she disappeared into the darkened hallway of the Elder's house.
