Description:
You have been contracted by someone to chase down a suspect in a murder. It is unknown if the contractor is a cop or a felon, but the person you are going after is on the 'Namek Most Wanted List' for murder. Killing him would only bring one of the most vile creature to justice, but so would turning him into the police. Do what you believe to be the right path.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lying on one of the blue grass covered hills of Namek, Babosa looked to the sky. Thinking back to that class he had taken on Elder Guru's request. The astronomy lesson he had received gave him so much to think about.

While the Namekian sky never changed besides the image of its three suns, he had learned other planets have a period where the sun wasn't in the sky, called night. During night time, one could see stars of other solar systems and galaxies. They could see meteors shoot across the sky, which were often called 'Shooting Stars'.

There was so much that he couldn't know, that he couldn't experience, so long as he was stuck on Namek. Yet, if he tried to leave to learn about the universe out there, he wouldn't be able to protect his race. He was so confused about what he wanted to do.

For now though, he would just relax. Aside from the occasional pirate crew that believed they could gather the Dragon Balls, there was nothing to worry about for Namek. Nodding to himself that he was right in his reasoning, Babosa returned to his sky watching, continuing to wonder about the mysteries of space.

Then, as he watched the ever static sky, he noticed something. It was a blur across the sky, similar to the trail of ki left behind when someone flew with Bukujutsu, but it was too far off.

"Is that a shooting star?" Babosa asked to noone in particular. He hoped so, if only so he can say he had seen one before.

As innocent as that desire was, Babosa was unaware of the danger of the object he believed to be a shooting star. That right now, the 'shooting star' was on a set course to land on the peaceful planet of Namek and endanger the lives of many Namekians.

Never a day went by that Trumpet neglected his training. In fact, he hadn’t missed a single day of training for a century. At one point this had been because Elder Struv pressed him so hard, but eventually, as his views and goals became solid and he understand what he would have to do to make his dreams a reality, he had developed such happens on his own.

Having just begun his push ups for the day, Trumpet failed to notice the strange thing that shot from horizon to horizon above him. Elder Struv, who was outside tending to his garden, had been wiping the sweat from his brow and looking at the clouds for a moment and noticed the odd event.

For a moment he just frowned, unsure of what he may have just seen, and trying to decide if it was important or not. Although he hated to disturb his student’s training, the old namekian called out to Trumpet. “My son… I have just witnessed a very strange occurrence. I fear this may be an early warning of a coming danger.”

Hearing his master’s voice, Trumpet locked his arms at the top of a push-up. A warning? Coming danger? Elder Struv sounded afraid, which was very strange, and even more unsettling. The younger namekian rose to his feet, turning to Struv. “Are you sure, master?”

Struv looked at his student. His expression was one of impatience, but it was stern all the same. “It may just be my senses playing with me, but I want you to check it out all the same. It was to the north of here. Please hurry, my son.”

Trumpet gave his master a quick and respectful bow before jumping into the air. Just when it seemed he would start to fall back towards the ground, his body lurched forward, and then began to rapidly speed up and gain altitude. Whatever it was he was going to find, he felt sure it was going to be a new experience.

Babosa's eyes remained locked on the object as he followed it's path. By now he felt that it wasn't the shooting star he hoped it would be. It stayed in the air for far too long and as it got closer to the planet, he could feel ki emanating from it. This meant one of two things.

It was either a ki producing object, something that was most rare and valued in the universe, which meant he would want to get his hands on it.

On the other hand, it would have to be a ship of some sort carrying a number of beings in it. If that was the case, then he wouldn't want them to land without him being there. Despite the potential for peaceful arrivals, his last experience with aliens wasn't such, and he didn't want invaders here.

As it came closer and closer to the ground, he could make out a few details. Some sort of wings, a perfect circular symbols, and something in the rear that spewed flames. It was definitely a spaceship.

Pushing himself further, Babosa propelled toward the object faster. Whatever it was, he didn't want to miss it's landing. Something he didn't miss due to the ship's preparations for landing, causing it to slow down to insure there would be no crash.

Instead of landing right where it would land though, Babosa decided to stop on a nearby hill. Close enough that he could see the ship and it's passengers, but far enough away that whoever landed would have to be looking for him.

The ship made it's descent, looking like a large, white seed with four wings connected to it. In between each wing was a red circle with a green Y-shape in it. The wings unfolded, creating landing pads so that it would maintain balance, finishing its arrival on Namek.

A few minutes after leaving Elder Struv back at the village, Trumpet arrived to see the object that had shot across the sky land, and people begin to file out in what he assumed was a sort of military pattern. About five seconds later he realized they were going to see him if he didn’t find cover, and fast.

Giving a quick look around, he noticed a hill he could lay on the top of and look out over the top to see what was going on down in the small valley. Without even a second thought, he darted to it, praying to the Great Creator that he hadn’t been noticed yet.

It wasn’t until he had actually flattened out on the top of the hill and begun to sneak peaks at the ship and it’s crew that he registered there was another namekian laying beside him. Slowly he turned his head to look at his brethren.

Although it was possible they could could be discovered and killed at any given moment, it was no time to be rude, Trumpet figured. “Hi, I’m Trumpet, student of Elder Struv,” he said with a friendly tone of voice. He knew this really wasn’t a time for introductions, but if not now, when? There was a chance he and this warrior might end up fighting for their lives together, although that was unlikely.

Although he couldn’t detect the powerlevels of what seemed to be soldiers that had filed out of the ship, he was wary of them all the same. In his mind, it was better to be cautious of a enemy without need, than to be rash with one and end up overpowered.

Remembering that he was in a danger zone, Trumpet peeked over the crest of the hill again, trying to get a bearing on his enemies’ level of professional. If they seemed to be anything but serious in this situation, he would make a mental note of it. If they showed anything but respect for their leader, he would know that they were not too focused on the task at hand, and he would have an idea of how hard they would fight in battle.

To his astonishment, there was no sign of the enemy other than the ship. Somehow they had totally vanished, without a trace of where they might have gone. “Where did they go?” he yelped, standing up on the top of the hill.

Almost instantly, he regretted it. A small energy blast hit him in the chest, picking up up and throwing him through the air, where he landed at the base of the hill. “Plethor…” he muttered, cursing in the Namekian language as he rolled over back to his feet.

The enemy knew where he was now, and he hadn’t even managed to see where the shot came from. All he could hope was that the other namekian had noticed it.

What appeared to be the footsoldiers of some army started marching out of the ship. It was something to be concerned with. While he couldn't sense their power levels from his distance, their numbers were something to be concerned with as it was.

"Hi, I'm Trumpet, student of Elder Struv"

Babosa leapt slightly at the sudden introduction. Turning his head, he realized there was another Namekian there. Why they were introducing themselves in a moment like this was beyond him.

"Hm, Babosa" Babosa replied, not really one for introductions, thinking he was doing enough favors talking when something odd was going on.

With his minor introduction out of the way, he put focus back to the soldiers. He took notice as another being, one that seemed to demand respect from the soldiers, left the ship. The being waved their arm and the group disappeared.

Babosa's antenna trembled, a sign he was trying to track their ki. Then, he heard Trumpet stand up and yelp "Where did they go?"

At that moment, Babosa sensed the group's ki. Worse, he felt a small ball of it fly through the air. It wasn't much, but it hit Trumpet in the chest, sending him to the base of the hill, causing the Namekian to mutter something Babosa couldn't hear.

Babosa looked to the top of another hill, larger than the one he stood on and farther away. The group had likely moved their so that they'd have higher ground without giving away their position with their ki. They had heard Trumpet and him exchange greetings and likely chose the spot to search for them without being watched.

Then, he realized the ki blast that hit Trumpet wasn't the only one, as it appeared that every member of the army was now firing ki at the top of the hill. Deciding it was best to avoid getting hit, he slid down the hill to where Trumpet had landed. While he wasn't much for teamwork, he needed help on this.

"Hey, Trumpet!" Babosa called out just as he was approaching the other Namekian. "We're in a lot of trouble and if we want to get out of this alive, we need a plan"

Hearing someone sliding down the side of the hill, Trumpet looked up to see Babosa avoiding a dozen more blasts identical to the one that hit him. It took him a moment to realize the namekian was talking, but he still managed to catch the gist of it and form a reply.

“You’re right,” he said, wiping the dirt off of his clothes. “That blast wasn’t too strong, but it sure as hell did hit its mark. That’s something important to utilize. They don’t seem too powerful, unless that attack was meant to be a warning, which I doubt.”

Babosa seemed to be an intelligent guy, so he didn’t think talking about the obvious was too important here. He did however think that it would be his strategy, already formed in his head, would work.

“I don’t think they’d be able to hold up in a hand-to-hand fight, so we’ve somehow got to sneak up them, and limit them to close quarters combat. To do that, one of us needs to be a distraction until the other is ready. I’ll be the distraction, you go ahead and sneak around the hill.”

As he spoke, Trumpet powered up to his max, something he didn’t do too often. He’d need to be able to take a hit, and avoid as many as he could to provide a good enough distraction for these marksmen.

Without warning, the namekian jumped into the air. Instead of falling back because of gravity, he continued to rise, gaining speed as he did. Whenever he cleared the top of the hill, he expected some more blasts to be shot at him, but thinking that their absence meant they were waiting for the perfect moment to shoot, he began to fly in circles above the ship.

When not a single blast was fired at him, he stopped and looked around. Not a soul was in sight other than Babosa on the other side of the hill. “They’re… gone,” he called down to the namekian.

A stunned look stood out on Babosa's face. Leaping into the air after Trumpet. "How is it possible that they disappeared so quickly? Not just once, but twice?" he muttered, trying to look around and find the army, but finding noone.

The fact that there were no more ki blasts said they were either setting themselves up to surround the two Namekians and attack them, or that the group had already left. Unfortunately, with no trace of their ki, it was impossible to track the group.

"Just great. Some aliens show up on the planet, attack, and then disappear"

Looking around for another clue, one thing stood out to Babosa. The ship. Descending to the ship, he took a good look at it. Then, looking back to the other Namekian, he said "Hey, come down here for a moment. I need you to come in the ship with me. I don't want to walk in and find myself outnumbered by more soldiers"

Once his Namekian brother was down by him, Babosa entered the ship. It was peculiar. Spacious with red tiles on the floors and walls. There seemed to be very little personal touches in it, but it was just the first room.

Stepping on one tile, the floor began to descened, revealing another room full of computers and screens that showed images of Namek. The sight of it made Babosa scowl.

"Alien technology. I don't know how any of this works"

Walking along the computers, Babosa traced his finger, a little bored at the sight of this stuff, but knowing it was important to figure something out. Then he remembered that while he may not be the most knowledgeable Namekian on technology, the other Namekian may be. He did mention that he was a student to a particular elder, which was a sign of strength and intelligence.

Turning back to Trumpet, he asked "Do you know how to work these things?".

The instruments and screens meant nothing to Trumpet. He felt sure that somewhere in the mess of it all, the aliens had been doing a sort of background check on the planet, and had liked what they found. It was likely they were after the dragonballs, he reasoned with himself.

“No, they are just as much of a mystery to me as they are to you. What I do gather though, is that these aliens are here for a particular reason. They know, or have heard something about Namek and they’re interested. My guess?” he said to Babosa, looking directly at his brethren. “The dragonballs.”

Just saying it out loud really drove home the urgency of the situation. Trumpet wasn’t very powerful when compared to some fighters he had met through the Gem of Telepathy, but he was certainly one of the elite of his race. If those aliens were looking for the dragonballs and the village elders denied them, as they most certainly would, then things would have gotten ugly quick.

Spilled namekian blood was not something Trumpet wanted on his hands. “Let’s go, we’ve got to intercept them before they hurt anyone. It doesn’t bode well with me to imagine what they’ll do when the villages won’t hand over the dragonballs.”

The time for being docile was gone. With one quick grunt, Trumpet fired an energy blast that blew a hole into the wall, leaving a opening that went outside. “Let’s fly…” he muttered to Babosa, throwing himself at the hole and quickly accelerating to his maximum speed.

He knew of a nearby village that was probably the first target for the aliens, the only problem was that they were likely already there, and that meant the possibility of them having already hurt someone. Mentally stressed by the thought that he had so easily failed to protect his people as he vowed to do, Trumpet poured on an extra burst of speed from somewhere within himself.

Now that his adrenaline was pumping, he felt he could do anything, and overcome anyone. If not for being such a thoughtful person, he’d have even believed what he felt.

Babosa struggled to keep up with Trumpet. His power and speed were much higher, it made him feel a bit inferior. Still, that wasn't the issue at the moment. If what Trumpet said was true, then the Dragon Balls were in danger.

Then, the village came into sight. It wasn't a good thing to look at from there. Smoke rose from buildings as fires scorched the Namekian soil. The two quickly landed, but continued moving to find anyone.

Oddly enough, noone was in sight. "Is anyone here!? Please come out, we're Namekians!" Babosa called out, trying to get in touch with any survivors. Noone answered, but that didn't keep the two from searching.

Antenna twitching, Babosa sensed ki coming from one of the larger buildings in the village. Rushing over to it, Babosa kicked the door down in a hurry, and was met with some relief.

Standing in a huddled group was a number of Namekians, likely from the village they were in. "Thank Porunga you're all here and safe" Babosa sighed, but quickly remembered they were in the middle of something. "What happened here?"

The group remained silent however, trembling a bit in fear. Confused, Babosa realized their eyes weren't on the two members of their species that just arrived, but to the ceiling. Looking up, there were four of the soldiers, hovering in place.

"We've been spotted, kill the slugs!" one of them roared, prompting them to fire a volley of ki blasts. Instead of the shots coming toward the two warrior caste Namekians, they were aimed for the huddled group.

Leaping into action, Babosa flew over the group and began deflecting the blasts as best he could. Anything he didn't deflect he took directly. The blasts were neither strong nor swift, but they would do their damage, and the sheer number of them was a bit overwhelming.

Watching what seemed to be his newest ally defend the group, Trumpet’s tactical brain went to work. They were outnumbered, unless you counted the namekians that Babosa was protecting. It was times like this Trumpet cursed himself for not being able to sense powerlevels of those nearby him, like many could.

As knowing all about his opponent was key to forming a strategy, the namekian studied the appearance and manner of the aliens floating above. There was a piece over each of their eyes with different colors. Trumpet had never seen anything of the sort, and he made a mental note to look into it later.

Seeing that Babosa was slowing down, he focused his attention on looking for a striking point in the alien’s defense. Just as he saw one, a quick surprise attack during a very slight gap in their barrage of blasts, he heard someone behind him.

When Trumpet turned around, he saw another group of aliens, just two of them this time, standing on the ground. They to, wore the strange colored eye pieces. Both wore a smirk on their face that said they were amused. “Hey Brutah, this ones stronger than the rest; what do you think?”

The other alien, who must’ve been Brutah, pressed a button on the side of the eye piece. “Only three and a half thousand. He might be stronger, but he’s still nothing special. Let’s take him out, Zutol,” he commented with a dry chuckle.

Brutuh was a large hulking red alien, and Zutol was a quirky yellow skinned alien. Trumpet noticed the scars on their faces armor, and chests (Brutuh didn’t wear a chest plate) from battles past fought. He also could see their bodies tense up just before the duo charged at him, both throwing punches and kicks all over the place.

They were slow, but the number of them was a little overwhelming. Still, Trumpet found it easy enough to dodge and block most of them, even countering a few. Slowly the counters began to take affect, and his two opponents broke off their assault, moving to either side of him so he couldn’t look at both of them at once.

Noticing they were breathing hard, Trumpet began to power up to add insult to injury and kill their spirit even more. Rocks began to rise into the air and he screamed, his Powerlevel rising steadily until he felt it reach its capacity. The two aliens gasped as the piece on their eyes beeped. “He’s at nearly five thousand now, Brutah!” Zutol yelled out.

Smiling, Trumpet raised a hand on either side, firing a long thin beam from either of his palms. The two beams stopped coming from his hands and then wrapped around the aliens like a rope.

When Trumpet clenched his fists, the ropes exploded into fiery balls, erasing Brutah and Zutol from existence with a final screech of pain and surprise.

Trumpet's display of power surprised the four soldiers by the ceiling. This left them open for Babosa to attack them. Extending his arms, he killed two immediately by forcing his arms through their abdomens with force and speed. The other two he hit with a few blasts from his hands after they passed through their allies bodies, shooting the heads off.

"Glad we got that over with" Babosa sighed as he contracted his arms, landing among the Namekians he had been defending, Trumpet joining them so that they could talk.

One of the group, a small child, ran up and hugged Babosa's legs. Confused, Babosa looked to Trumpet for answers, but found him receiving a similar treatment. Then, he noticed the two of them were glowing, restoring their strength.

"They are healers, very good ones too. It is their way of thanking you for defending us" an older Namekian explained.

"That's great and all, but what happened here? Why are you all here and what did they want?" Babosa asked.

A few looks were exchanged in the group before one said "They were soldiers working under the heinous Fadda, an alien who once attempted to steal the Dragon Balls, but was removed from the planet by a handful of our warriors. It appears he's returned with men to help"

Nodding, another took up the speaking. "He arrived in the village, demanding the location of the Dragon Ball. The elder refused to give it to him, so he had his men round us up and destroyed a lot of the village in the process. Then, Fadda took the elder to 'persuade' him to reveal where our Dragon Ball was"

"Indeed, and the old man still hasn't told me" a new, sinister voice stated, gaining the attention of the Namekians. Standing by the door was an orange alien with green hair, reptilian feet, and a mechanical left arm that ended in a large blade rather than a hand (which was noticeably dripping purple blood).

In his right arm, he held an older Namekian who was covered in bruises and lacerations. Tossing the Namekian at the feet of the group, he said "Heal him up. I need him to be alive so I can get the information out of him"

While the children who healed Babosa and Trumpet complied, the two warrior Namekian took a step forward. "Fadda, you have harmed members of the Namekian race and threaten more lives by demanding the Dragon Balls. If you do not leave this village now, you will not leave alive"

Chuckling at Babosa's comment, Fadda licked some of the blood of his blade arm. "If you slugs think you can make me leave, then you're more than welcome to try". Pointing his arm at the two, he shouted "Come at me!"

The second those words left his mouth, the two shot forward, slamming into him and forcing him out of the building. They would need to get away from the villagers to go full out.

With the combined might of Trumpet and Babosa, the heroes pushed the alien known as Faddah through several buildings, and out of the village. Finally when Trumpet thought they were far enough from the other namekians to be able to fully open up on his opponent, he shrugged the big alien off of him, letting the orange skinned creature fall into the ocean.

“We’ve got to form an attack plan,” Trumpet called to Babosa, who was about 10 feet away just for having stopped a little slower than he. “He’s likely to skin us alive with that arm of his if we don’t coordinate our attacks!” He was utilizing the idea that two namekians of about equal power could fight together as an unstoppable team.

Knowing his ally had heard him and would follow his lead, Trumpet turned his full attention back on the ocean surface. It had calmed down from Faddah falling into it, but that was just a mask for what was brewing beneath. Straining his eyes, the namekian could see his opponent shooting like a pike through the water, straight at him from the murky green depths.

Suddenly Faddah was gone, and when he looked around he couldn’t see the alien anywhere. “Behind you!” Trumpet heard a crackly, sinister voice call. Before he could lay out a defense, though, a searing hot energy blast hit him in the back, propelling him underwater a ways.

Faddah turned his attention on Babosa, but just as he made an advance towards the namekian, an arm shot out of the green water and grabbed his leg, yanking him underneath and dragging him to the rocky ocean floor, which was about forty feet below the surface.

When the hand let go of his leg, Faddah found himself face to face with Trumpet, who had seemed to undergo a sort of transformation. His appearance wasn’t altered other than the unusually serious look on his face, but his attitude had changed entirely.

Like an animal, Trumpet threw himself upon his enemy, kicking, punching, biting and scratching everything he could get his hands on. Faddah, who hadn’t been able to take a breath before getting pulled under the waves, was at a disadvantage to the namekian, whom could pull small amounts of oxygen from the water and sustain himself for up to an hour.

Struggling to get back to the surface only made the strain on Faddah’s lungs, and the burning desire to take a breath of air, worsen. Slowly he stopped moving, just the current and the impact from Trumpet’s punches making his body sway.

Realizing this, the namekian stopped his assault and watched as the oxygen in Faddah’s muscles, took him slowly to the surface. Leaving the body to it’s own devices, Trumpet shot upwards beside it, reaching the top far sooner and bursting out in a huge spout of water.

Giving a nod to Babosa, he turned to see the body break the surface, and fired a blast of ki at it, which Babosa mimicked. When the water settled from the explosions, Faddah’s body was gone, virtually vaporized by the energy attacks.

The battle made Trumpet realize something; something he had to figure out immediately. With a nod of respect, but no words, the namekian left Babosa standing in midair over the water. He also left the job of dealing with the would-be invaders ship to the younger fighter.
