It was hot! Way too hot! Goku raised his boney forearm and wiped a stream of salty perspiration from his brow. Everything that he heard about Namek included rich detail of lush fields and cool bodies of water. How the boy saiyan ended up in a desert was a complete mystery. Junior, with white foam emitting from the corners of his mouth, felt extremely weak and tired. After three days straight, of wandering aimlessly, who wouldn’t? His skin was bronzed and extra crispy and aching for a cool drink or the refreshing shade from a desert palm, but there was nothing but fiery sand in all directions. The heat was fucking with him hard and there were no signs of civilization anywhere, only sun scorned creatures of the sand that scowled as they passed. Even the towering dunes provided no protection from the scorching ball of burning gas. On top of all of that, Goku was under the assumption that he had been traveling in circles this whole time. Great! The young nomad stopped in his tracks and shielded his eyes as he looked up to the sky. The first thing that stuck out to him was the presence of several different suns. How would he be able to navigate, from where he was at, with so many different suns traveling in various directions. It was mind boggling and very frustrating. Basic survival skills were completely useless and in his weakened condition he had no use of his ability to sense any life forces. Suddenly, whispping in from his right, a violent wind started to blow. Junior looked down at his foot imprints which were vanishing right before his eyes. So much for the bread crumbs idea! The wind continued to build and build until a beige blur was all that he could see. The gritty granuals burned, scuffed, and scraped as they ripped across Goku’s sunburned flesh. It was complete unrelenting torture. Goku Junior reached up to his stinging face and wrapped a portion of his turban around his exposed mouth, nose, and eyes. The warrior had just enough time to tighten the mask when the raging gust picked him up and slung him several miles away. As he hurtled throughout the violent sand storm he felt a floating peace overcome him up until the moment he hit the ground and passed out. WC: 392 |

Goku Junior’s eyes slowly peeled open. The first thing he noticed was the odd structure of the ceiling. It was far different architecture than was he was use to back at home on Earth. He immediately remembered where he was at, Namek. The young saiyan rose up from the bed. He was still very weak; he could feel it deep within his muscles. What a vicious sand storm. After a second or two, it finally occurred to him that he didn’t remember arriving at a house. The last thing he could recall before passing out was being jerked through the air by a horrible wind. “Where am I?” he questioned himself as he stood to his feet. Whether it was a simple coincident or if someone was reading his mind, was unknown, but directly after Goku completed his thought, the room’s oval shaped door slid open. It was a tall green being that stepped through the door. It seemed as if the door magically closed as soon as he entered. “So, it seems you have finally come too,” stated Namekian. “I suppose, but where am I? What happened?” Goku asked. “Well, first I will start by asking you the questions,” replied the green man cautiously. “What is your name stranger and why have you come to this planet? Are you another pirate that has come here to steal and plunder?” Junior scratched his head as he tried to recall his memory, but things were still very fuzzy, “My name is Goku, but I’m not really sure why I am here. All that I can remember is waking up on a wrecked ship. Everyone aboard the vessel was dead except for me. The strange thing is that I couldn’t recall their names or faces. It was weird.” Goku dropped his head and rubbed his crusty eyes. There was a brief pause in Goku’s explanation. It’s not that he was making anything up; it was simply just difficult to remember what happened. He was still exhausted and his head was throbbing. The Namek didn’t say a word. He continued looking on and listening with obvious skepticism. “The computer kept repeating Namek…… Namek. I figured that was the name of the planet on which I was stranded. I didn’t hang around the ship long. I was going to set out to find some help, but after about three days of searching I found no one and ended up being swallowed in a sand storm. That is the last thing I remember besides waking up in this strange room.” Goku gave another quick scan around the room then continued. “As for being a pirate; I don’t know. I do know that I have no intensions of stealing anything, plundering, or harming anyone. All I want to do is figure out what is going on. Can you help me?” WC: 474 |

The Namekian was torn between two decisions. On one hand he was sure that this was just a clever trick to get in close to the dragonballs, but on the other hand, something inside of him kept assuring him that this young boy impended no danger to him, his village, or planet Namek. The green being gritted his pearly whites and followed his heart. “Okay, I’m going to stretch out on a limb here and give you the benefit of the doubt. I shouldn’t have even rescued you from the desert. I could get in serious trouble for harboring you here, but I think the elder will understand once I explain everything to you. After all you were on the brink of death when I found you.” The green alien force and intense stare upon the saiyan nomad. “I swear to Parunga; If you are lying to me, I will destroy you without any second thought. Understood?” “Yeah, got it,” Goku Junior replied with a curiously raised eyebrow. The Namek turned around and motioned his hand forward. The door reopened and the green being stepped out. Goku sluggishly followed. Why was he still feeling so weak? It felt like he had been unconscious for months. Was he drugged? Various scenarios filled the youngsters brain as he followed his new acquaintance through a small and odd village. Goku couldn’t help but feel like he was being watched. He wasn’t just paranoid though; every being that was outside, watch him closely. It seemed as if this group of people were the ones who were paranoid; maybe even sketchy. An uneasy feeling overcame his entire being and just at that moment, their travels came to a sudden halt. The tiny warrior didn’t like the way he was feeling one bit. He was exhausted, weak, and very, very nervous. He had no clue what was going on and everyone was treating him like he was the scum of the planet. What a nice welcome. The Namekian brought the boy to a white, oblong shaped hut. Not a frail looking hut, but more like a sturdy white stone. Goku watched closely as the green stranger reached forth and rapped on the door. The passage instantly opened to reveal an eerie darkness. Junior waited anxiously for whoever or whatever was about to emerge. WC: 387 |

A short, plump Namekian exited from the little hut. He seemed to be full of years and his face was shrouded with a serious and concerned look. He approached the alien boy and placed his hand directly on saiyan right shoulder. Goku thought it a little weird, but allowed it to take place. He didn’t want to stir up any more strife around the place. “Don’t worry, this won’t hurt and it will be over in just a second,” said the green elder in a deep, raspy voice. Junior didn’t reply with any words, just a nod. The elder closed his eye’s and began a low hum. It only lasted a second, just as he said, and before he knew it, the green hand dropped back to it’s original position. “Your memory is lost… or blocked, I can’t tell. I guess you were honest about that part, but how can I be for certain? I can only read minds not hearts. Hmmm,” explained the wise leader. Goku raised both hands behind his head and arched his back a bit. A loud yawn escaped from his mouth, but he wasn’t intending to be disrespectful. The fact was that he was becoming bored just standing there and the fact that he was being treated like a criminal didn’t help either. On top of that, he was starving. The elder and the younger Namekian gave the child a strange look. They couldn’t feel any threat, but it couldn’t be confirmed. There were too many times, in the past, that their race had been tricked and enslaved and they were going to do their best to see that it would never happen again. “Okay son,” said the elder. Goku turned his attention from the alien ant bed that he was starring at and locked eyes with the green old man, though he really didn’t want too. The weird ants were far more interesting, but he didn’t want to offend. “I have a little task for you. Do you oblige?” asked the old Namek. “Sure, if it will prove to you guys that I just want to be your friends,” replied the child saiyan with a smile. The Namekian returned the smile, but it was only half hearted, “There is a certain plant on the top of that mountain over there,” a shriveled olive finger pointed to a blue, distant mountain range. The Halfling shielded his eyes from the suns and peered toward the said location, “yup, I see it.” “Good, I want you to find giant red plant that has yellow blossoms sprouting from its top. I need you to retrieve the yellow blossoms, but do not kill the plant. Is this understood?” stated the elder. “Far away mountain, red plan, yellow blossoms, and don’t kill it. Got it!” answered the boy with confidence, “Wait! Why would I want to kill the plant?” The two Namekians laughed amongst themselves, “You’ll see,” replied the taller green guy. “Whatever,” Goku commented before turning toward the range and heading off on his mission. Goku rushed out of the village. He passed by the host of Namekians villagers once more. They were still starring at him like he was a plague, but it didn’t really bother the boy anymore. Soon he would retrieve the plant blossoms and prove to this entire race that he was of no harm to them. It would definitely be a feeling of relief. The little half-saiyan didn’t like being mistrusted, but even with everyone else believing him, how could he trust himself. Hell, he could even remember who he was, but something had to be done about that. The saiyan boy continued running at full speed until he reached the blue cluster of woods at the base of the mountain. He was surprised at how fast he reached the location. He was so full of thought that he didn’t even remember the trip. Goku gave a look back to the village which was just a speck on the horizon. Junior shrugged his shoulders then turned back to the forest. The description on the plant rang through his mind once more, “Red plant…. Yellow blossoms…. Don’t kill.” “You know, I didn’t remember to ask those guys were I could find this plant,” said the boy quietly to himself, “guess I’ll just start at the bottom and work my way to the top.” The courageous little saiyan entered into the shadowy blue forest. It was a bit creepy with the dim lighting and strange creatures howling and squawking, but it wasn’t enough to detour the little man from the task at hand. Goku looked left and right, high and low. There were all kinds of strange shrubbery and leafy plants, but the majority of them were the usual blue. In fact, there was so much blue that the boy started to doubt the factuality of a bright red plant with yellow blossoms being found on the lump of land. Suddenly, a violent rumble bellowed beneath the monkey-boy’s feet. Goku Junior grabbed a flexible limb from a nearby tree and braced himself. Unfortunately though, the branch was not a branch, it was a brown snake. Goku gasped aloud then released the hissing, horned reptile. By the time the little hero hit the ground the tremor stopped and the serpent was gone. Junior picked himself up and dusted of his blue clothing, “whoo! That was completely crazy! Where did that earthquake come from,” he announced before continuing on with his trudge. The half-ling took only five steps more before another, even more chaotic, tremor came along that was accompanied by a deep growl from the planet’s core. Instead of trying to hold on for dear life again, this time Goku raised himself from the soil using his ki. It was a way better idea and using this technique he would be able to get a better view of the mountain. Goku Jr. levitated until he was above the gentle blue tree tops. The rumbling growl continued to rip throughout the planet. Then like vomit spewing forth from hell, molten lava erupted through the mountain peak and launched several hundred feet into the emerald skyline. It wasn’t an earthquake at all and he wasn’t on a mountain, he was on an active volcano! Junior’s eye’s tripled in size as he watched the horrid explosion. The red plant instantly popped into his mind. “Oh no! The lava will consume the plant! I’ve got to do something quick,” he thought frantically to himself as he darted towards the glowing red expulsion of magma. WC: 587 |

Goku flew high above the erupting mountain. The lava was expelling so quickly that the entire mountain and forest had been consumed, not to mention the plant he was supposed to be retrieving. That wasn't the problem though anymore. There was a new storm brewing and it would be devistating. Junior looked back to the tiny Namekian Villiage. The lava was on a direct path to the people's dwellings and moving fast. Junior's eyebrow's furrowed. "I've got to stop this now," he screamed with a tone heroism. A white aura flared up around the young saiyan and burned with intensity. Goku launched off like a jet toward the small town. Even flying at his fastest, the lava was still right on his trail. Then determination and adrinaline kicked in and gave a little bit of edge to the boy's speed. It was just enough to put several feet of distance between himself and the rapid flowing river of hell. Goku Junior landed on the outskirts of the village with a tremendous thud causing the ground below his boots to sink and crumble. He had to move fast and he hoped that the super Kamehameha technique would be enough to divert the intense magma. All the while, the villagers watched on in horror. Some knelt to the ground and began to pray to parunga that he might spare there souls and village. Every inhabitant was in complete shambles except one. The village elder watched the boy with a calm air about him. For some reason he could sense that this boy would protect them. The only thing that was troubling him was his own doubt in the boy heart. "Everyone do not panic," announced the wise old Namek, "Trust in Parunga. He will not let us down. Watch this boy, I believe he was sent here to help our people. Let's us lend our support and confidence to this brave young boy." The elder's words were truly inspiring and just as he instructed, every green skinned inhabitant gathered together and extended there arms toward the alien boy. Meanwhile, Goku was standing face to face with a rushing lake of molten lava. His tiny hand were cupped to his side and blue energy engulfed his entire body. He was charging for the biggest Kamehameha he had ever produced. He only hoped it would be enough. "KAAAAMEEEEHAAAAMEEEEHAAA!" Goku screamed as he thrusted forward his arms and fired the massive blue orb from his palms. The beam rocketed forward and met up with the ferocious red liquid. The blue beam connected with the bulk of the lava, but the two forces were at a stalemate. Goku continued to pour every ounce of energy into the wave, but it looked as if it wasn't going budge to flowing force of nature. Just then, a green wave of energy consumed the young saiyan and flowed through his body and then to his stretched forth hands. The given energy pulsated through the blue beam and infused with it's energy giving the wave an aqua color. The aqua beam instantly quadrupled in size and completely froze the hot red magma until it smoldered out to a black crust all the way to the tip of the mountain. The small hero released the last bit of energy that was gripped to his hand then immediately fell to his knees then on his face. It was the direct result of energy drain. The boy could feel his life flickering away into the dust. Goku closed his eyes and began to except his fate, but out of nowhere, he felt a scaled hand lay flat on his back. Again a green aura encompassed him accompanied by a weird humming. Before the young fighter new it, his eyes shot open wide and he could feel all of the strength reenter his body. The little hero instantly stood to his feet and turned around. The short, fat, elder was standing in his presence with a grin from ear to ear. Goku smiled back, but then took a second to review his body. He was perfectly fine. "Wow, how did you do that?" asked the surprised half-ling. "It's an old Namekian trick that I learned long, long ago," replied the still smiling elder. "Oh, the plant! I wasn't able to get it," said Goku with a frown. "Hahaa! Don't you worry about that. There are more, lots more, but you won't have to find them. You have proven to me that you are not evil. Why don't you come inside my dwelling and discuss some things with me?" Goku smiled back and nodded. He didn't answer and just followed the path of the elder. It appeared as if he had gain the people trust. No one grimaced at him any longer as he walked by. In fact, they were all smiling and cheering him. It seemed as if he had made some new friends. WC: 818 TOTAL: 3,164 |
