Anyone bought the game? I'd like to know, as I'm not sure I can play it or not. Everything else is okay, but the Graphics Card Manufacturer T&L comes up as a "No" when I use a website (I know this isn't a big deal, though, as it says the same thing for other games I've played on my PC). But it also says I need a Vertex Shader v2.0 or something, which I apparently do not have. Will that make me unable to play? Is it even a part of the requirements, or just something the website put in? I'm downloading the Beta Client to see if it will play. Also, discuss the game here. :3 |

You do need the Vertex Shader, that is almost a must for any new games, I do own Starcraft 2 (got it last night) but idk how it works with a less capable computer, but I would say Shader is a must. |

Turns out this is actually the computer with the crappy Graphics Card. So, Sunday I'll be moving the good Graphics Card with Vertex Shader 3.0 onto this one and you can expect to see me on Starcraft 2. |

As much as I love Starcraft (still playing it these days), I'm not getting SC2. I have heard from many friends that it is unbalanced and has none of the flair that the original did. I'm sure it's probably a good game, Blizzard is a great dev, but I just don't feel like spending the money on having to make sure my comp is up to date to play a game that I haven't heard many good things about. |

Well, I've got a computer I've had for literally YEARS, and the only thing I need replaced is the video card (which is in the OTHER computer we have, and works just fine, while we bought that approximately a year ago as well), so it's not that high of a requirement for systems. Plus, Starcraft 2 looks like it's a lot faster than the original, which appeals to me. Fuckin' ridiculous times on research and training last game. Also, Alex, we've had this discussion before. 90% of people would say that the original was better, just because the second one didn't do AS MUCH new stuff. If it's the same game, but with more cool features, ITS BETTER. Sorry, that last paragraph should've gone in rants, shouldn't it? But yeah, your computer can probably run it easily. Google "Can my computer run it" and use the first result to check. |

Just thought I would give everyone an update on my SC 2 status. Played my 5 placement games to determine the league I would enter. Won 3/5 of those games, so I got placed in the Gold League. Only playing one Gold League match tonight, but I won it (with a bit of luck and a lot of hard counter units). Now I'm ranked 22nd of 100 in my Division within the Gold League. So, yay me. EDIT: Just for those who don't understand, Gold League is definitely not the highest. Here's the leagues from most to least skill. Pro League - Invite only. The only way to get into this league is to do very well in other high-ranked leagues. Diamond League - You can't enter into this league from placement matches; you have to earn points from the other league to be automatically promoted. Platinum League - The highest ranked League you can be in from placement matches. (Generally you have to win 5/5, I'd imagine.) Gold League - The second highest League you can earn from placement games. (This is the one I am in) Silver League - The second lowest League you can earn from placement games. Bronze League - The lowest League you can earn from placement games. (I imagine you have to win 1/5 or lose all 5 to be here.) Practice League - You get 50 games in this league when you first make a Starcraft 2 account. After that, you can't do any more. This league is just to help new players get unranked games to initiate them to the system. I won all 4 of my games in this division, so I'm assuming most of them really are newbs. I skipped the other 46 to get into league play. |

I heard a good tale of compelling twists and turns in story, its from the blizzard, one of the best in the biz, Diablo star and war craft everlasting gems. The mechanical woman seem to get to be more then just one big question mark and that's a plus. It seems to be a "modernized game" no question, and the B is known for loyalty to its fans so it is foreseeable that they would cautiously act within guidelines (terran, Protos, and Zerg= balanced, powerhouse, and swarms and story elements for terran=government and military, for protos= technological political and spiritual (both philosophical and religious), for zerg= extremist evolution, chaos, conquest, and purity of war and death in nature) I would like it more if they eased off the style and added more substance. If fast paced action on a vibrant modern graphics engine is all I want I can get dead to rights retribution or do red dead redemption to drunk to get any story. If deep story was all I wanted I can A. get motivated and write or B hop aboard the bio-where band wagon of Dragon Age Origins and/or Mass effect on a consul so as not to need to worry the need of amping my stuff up for a story gem when another company makes the gaming storytelling hall of fame yearly. |
