A strange man toting a samurai sword has been going from town to town, challenging Dojo Owners. Unlike most Dojo Destroyers, who challenge Dojos and take their titles, this man has been killing them, claiming they were "Not worthy of living". His insignia is 'Akuma', also known as "Devil".

Local Law Enforcement Agencies have put out a bounty on this man's head. Lucky for you, it seems his next target is a Dojo not far from where you live...

It was early. Very much so. The alarm was blaring persistently and the capsule home's occupant stubbornly remained still. With great reluctance, the aforementioned individual reached up and tapped a button atop the device. Silence. Sweet silence. A yawn escaped the muscular man's lips as he sat up, white hair fairly disheveled from slumber. 6 A.M. The sun was only beginning to pop over the horizon. Sighing heavily, he rose from his bed and crossed to the window. He pushed aside the blinds to peek outside. Hazy. A warm, summer morning.

At some point, after a great deal of procrastination, the individual known as Fenix had flipped on the television. The tri-daily news report had begun. Nothing of even remote interest. West City affairs didn't concern him, seeing as he resided well beyond their limits. He ignored it, instead focusing on a list of supplies which he had copied down the previous night. Mostly food items. It meant a visit into town. A rather trivial task. The news report continued. Fenix directed his attention towards a pair of Saiyan boots he had recently gathered components for.

Naught but a few minutes later did a rather interesting story catch his ear. "The man known as 'Akuma' whom we've been reporting on for the last few days has recently picked a target. In case you missed the last incident, this 'Akuma' has been attacking dojos across the continent and slaughtering their students. The figure is believed to have made the local Silver Springs Dojo his next target. West City Law Enforcement have released a bounty on the man. Visit their department for further details." The report switched back to the newscasters, droning off into other irrelevant topics. Fenix put down the materials he had been constructing. It was certainly a chance to see some action.

He immediately made a decision. Despite the slight risk involved, he would make a trip into West City. After taking care of this 'Akuma', he could gather the supplies he needed and collect the reward. A fine plan. Riddled with possibility.

Fenix spent the remainder of the next hour training his body with warm-up exercises. While the chance that Akuma would prove to be much of a challenge was thin, it was only wise to expect the unexpected. Regardless, the man would receive the full brunt of Fenix's pent up wrath. Slaughter was entirely inevitable for Akuma.

His training was brief enough to allow him a bit of meditation. In this relaxed state, he was able to quickly sense Akuma out. The wretched man was powerful. More powerful than Fenix had anticipated. Nonetheless, he wasn't strong enough to pose much of a threat. More of a minor inconvenience. Akuma was, after all, just a human. Humans lacked the strength that other races had.

As the sun continued to rise, Fenix gathered up a bit of zeni to be used to purchase supplies after his encounter with Akuma. This left him completely prepared for the journey into West City. A confident smirk adorning his lips, he left the capsule home and locked the door. It seemed unlikely that anyone would take much notice to the building, seeing as it was far from the city limits and in an area that saw little to no human traffic.

The Half-Saiyan took off towards the city, propelling himself through the chilly morning air with use of his ki. Flying had been an invaluable technique to learn. It made the miles to West City shrink into a nearly insignificant amount of traveling. A brief journey had him at the city's limits.

Everything appeared to be normal in West City. No crowds rushing from certain areas, no evident signs of an attack. Simply the usual activities of the urban population. How deceiving. Apparently the man intended to make use of surprise. A wise decision considering the bounty that had been placed on his head. There were, without a doubt, plenty of vigilantes seeking out the man. However, unlike the rest, Fenix was a more than capable mixture of the Human and Saiyan races. A fiery combination.

Slowly, he surveyed the city from his elevated position. His steel-colored hues scanned the large expanse of urban sprawl carefully, looking for any abnormalities. Nothing. A painfully average day. With renewed vigor, Fenix landed inconspicuously behind a large bank. He popped out onto the sidewalk and merged with the morning crowd. To his advantage, he blended well. Even from his first hand view of the populus, everything was perfectly normal. A very routine day.

This lead to the first step of the plan. Finding the dojo. With no incident making the location of the dojo clear, he'd have to ask. A likely candidate came in the form of a police officer patrolling down the sidewalk in a casual fashion.

Fenix found himself painfully unable to sense out Akuma's position in the dense crowds. He could feel the general presence, but it was too muddled by thousands of others to pinpoint. This would force him to revert to the next best plan. Ask. The Half-Saiyan carefully approached a law enforcement officer who happened to be patrolling that length of sidewalk. "Excuse me. I'm for a particular dojo. Would you be able to assist me?"

The policeman paused, glancing over at him in a nonchalant fashion. "Which one are you looking for?" came the reply.

"Silver Spring," Fenix told him, maintaining a neutrality of interest in his tone of voice.

"Yeah. About six blocks that way, turn right another two blocks and it'll be on the left. Can't miss it." The officer gestured towards the west, deeper into the city. "And I'd watch it. There's a wanted man believed to be heading there," the policeman added before going about his business. Fenix nodded in thanks and began westward.

Much to his chagrin, the crowds only waxed in number as he neared the dojo. The usual morning work traffic was oddly swelled. It made sensing Akuma even more difficult. Every step deeper into the city made it that much harder. His mind was practically straining to locate the individual. It meant he'd have to hurry to reach the dojo in time to intercept the swordsman. His temper would be abominable if he missed Akuma.

His pace quickened. He gave up any intention of acting normally amongst the citizens. The occasional shove here or there could be overlooked. Reaching the temple in due time was more of a priority. He needn't resort to flying yet. That would attract entirely too much attention. Being at least somewhat inconspicuous remained an option. Killing Akuma would certainly attract enough attention anyways. So he continued, threading his way through the crowd, aiming for the dojo.

Surprisingly, the populus began to thin out as he came to the immediate vicinity of the dojo. It would seem as if word of Akuma's arrival had gotten out and influenced many an intelligent individual against going near the area. This assisted him greatly in finding the swordsman.

Fenix came to a halt on the same street as the dojo. His eyes shut tightly and his mind reached out, searching for the specific ki signature of his enemy. It didn't take long to find. The powerlevel, albeit fairly low, was approaching the area. His eyes burst open and narrowed, pupils searching closely for any sign of Akuma. It didn't take long for his search to prove fruitful.

At the very end of the street, a heavily clad figure with a katana at his waist emerged. His head was bowed and it was clear that he was heading for the dojo. A smirk split Fenix's facial features as his adrenaline began to pump in anticipation. He started forward, not making his presence known yet. As the two neared, Akuma looked up, surprised to see someone there who appeared as if they were looking to oppose him.

"I suggest you leave, lest you desire to meet the fate of the martial artists within," Akuma had warned, gesturing towards the dojo with the last of his statement.

Fenix laughed, muscled arms crossing over his chest. "Actually, I'm here to kill you," he put very bluntly. The aforementioned warrior seemed to take this as a joke and continued towards the dojo. the Half-Saiyan stepped in his path, his face contorting into a serious expression. "I mean it."

Akuma's first reaction was subtle anger. His hand deftly grasped the handle of his sword. "Last chance," he murmured. Fenix stood his ground. The former twisted slightly and pulled the blade from it's sheath. "Then you've chosen death, I see." A pause ensued, the tension becoming as thick as butter. Fenix remained silent, his fists clenching as he began to build up power. It was in his best interest to make this as quick as possible to avoid any spectators.

Neither warrior made a move. Both were awaiting the other to be the first to do so. Fenix found himself becoming impatient quickly. Seeing as Akuma didn't serve as a true threat, there was no real point to the wait. He'd simply have to end it and ensure his reward.

The battle began explosively. Both fighters seemed to reach the peak of their patience and attacked simultaneously. Akuma brought his katana down hard towards Fenix, but the latter quickly caught the blade by the flat ends. The former's face shifted from an easy confidence to fear as the Half-Saiyan gripped the blade and yanked it from his grasp.

Fenix glanced at the weapon before tossing it aside and relaxing his stance. "Game over," he said simply shrugging his shoulders slightly. Without warning, he charged forward, left fist pulling back for the purpose of momentum before landing itself into Akuma's gut. Hard. It might have easily been enough to bruise most internal organs. Fenix smoothly followed up the attack by leaning up to eye level with the man and bashing his right fist into his temple. The blow was devastating.

The entirety of the situation seemed to briefly enrage him. His teeth clenched and before Akuma had the chance to reach the cement from the last blow, Fenix had darted to him and kicked him hard in his back, rendering him airborne. The Half-Saiyan leapt upwards, clenched fists meeting Akuma's rising chest and ending the ascent abruptly. The swordsman hit the ground that time, and hard. Cement cracked around to form an rough imprint of his now lifeless body.

Fenix landed casually, glancing at the now dead warrior. It had been one of the quickest battles of his life. Of course, he could have drawn it out more for sport. That, though, seemed disrespectful.

Nothing more needed to be said. Fenix hoisted the body onto his shoulders and threw caution to the wind, soaring upwards and to the nearby law enforcement agency.

Killed the bad guy. Reward?" he asked simply, ignoring the shocked looks he received as he entered the station.

"R-right away, sir," answered the pretty lady running the front desk.

It was a brief process, involving only a few words and a quick exchange of the body for a modest sum. With his task complete, Fenix finished his business in the city and returned to the vast emptiness of the fields where his house awaited.
