ADBZ's AoE OG
|
As Raizoku woke up early Monday morning, looked at his bedside clock. It was 7:30 a.m. He had to get ready for work in a hurry. He was hired as a personal bodyguard and was anxious to see who he had to protect. Getting up from bed, he went to the bathroom and took a hot shower. Raizoku got out of the bathroom and got dressed. He wore black slacks, a white t-shirt under a black button-down shirt, and black combat boots. He was anxious to start work, hoping for a chance to prove himself as a capable bodyguard. "Now, where do I have to go?", Raizoku asked himself out loud. He had to find the flyer he used to find the job. He left his room and went to the living room where he saw his parents sitting on the couch together, watching T.V. "Good morning, mom", Raizoku said. He went to kiss his mom on the cheek. "Good morning, son", his mom said, smiling. "Good morning, sir", Raizoku said to his father. He never called him "Dad". He was taught that "Sir" was what a Saiyan should call his father. Even a Hybrid. Not wanting to delay any further, Raizoku began searching the living room for the flyer. He searched the coffee table that was between the T.V. and the couch his parents were sitting on. Nothing but junk and old mail. He searched the end table next to the couch, and finally, searched the book shelf next to the T.V. Still no luck. Turning to his parents, Raizoku began to ask, "Have you seen the..." "Here it is. Keep better track of your things, Raizoku", his mom said. "But, it was in the...", Raizoku began to say, when his father cut him off abruptly. "It doesn't matter where it was. You had to look for it didn't you?", he said with frustration apparent in his voice. "It won't happen again", was all Raizoku could say. He grabbed the flyer from his mother and went to the kitchen to eat. He was grateful his mother always prepared a big breakfast. Raizoku went straight for the tall stack of pancakes that were waiting for him on the kitchen table. He poured himself an unhealthy amount of maple syrup and ate vigorously. He then drank half a gallon of orange juice and half a gallon of milk. "Thanks, Mom!", Raizoku yelled before exiting his house through a backdoor in the kitchen. Now, his day could officially begin. He hoped for the best. Crossing through a neighbor's backyard, he found the main road and stopped to look at his flyer. According to the flyer, he did not have to travel too far. He was to find mansion northeast of town. He turned east and walked for about three miles. A walk of that distance was nothing to Raizoku, who was used to running much farther and at full speed, with his father. After three miles, he then had to go north for another five miles. When he got there, he knew exactly where he had to be. Looking across the street, Raizoku saw a tall building with a single letter atop the main roof. The letter "P". He wondered what it stood for. There was a two-story building on each side of the three-story main building. He proceeded to cross the street, tugging on his shirt and fixing his hair. He needed to make a positive impression. Approaching the main gate at a steady pace, he was immediately met by a five man group of what looked like body guards. "Are you Raizoku?", asked the middle bodyguard, who Raizoku guessed was the leader. "That's right", Raizoku replied. "Come with us", the whole group of bodyguards said in unison. Raizoku thought it was odd how they all spoke together so perfectly. Were they Androids? Two ways to find out. One, Raizoku could just ask them. Though that might not go so well, considering he was on their turf. Two, he could focus his inner Ki and listen for a heartbeat, or five. He decided to go with his second choice. He kept his own heartbeat calm as he intently focused on finding a heartbeat coming from at least one bodyguard. Nothing. Now that Raizoku knew they were Androids, he could better understand why his potential employer was so cautious. No wonder they didn't let him get too close to the main gate. He wondered though, why hire a living, breathing being? Why now? He was going to find out. The Android bodyguards turned toward the main gate and did not say anything further. After walking through a long, paved road, Raizoku and the bodyguards reached the front door. They were immediately greeted by a Namekian dressed white, weighted clothing. A fighter? As Raizoku entered behind the bodyguards, the Namekian didn't give him more than a glance. The bodyguards continued to walk down a dark corridor to the left of the entrance. As they disappeared, the Namekian closed the door and stared at Raizoku. "Can you fight?", he said to Raizoku. "Yes", was all Raizoku could say before the Namekian charged at him full speed, with a punch aimed at his gut. He was too slow to react. Raizoku doubled over grimacing in pain, when the Namekian warrior went to kick him in the head. He got up with lightning speed and met the kick with a block from his shin. He jumped back and saw that the Namekian had dropped the weighted clothing and was in a battle stance unfamiliar to Raizoku. He guessed the Namekian didn't want to talk. Raizoku was fine with that. Maybe this was supposed to be his interview. He bent and separated his legs, charging up to his maximum Power Level. A white aura surrounded Raizoku and he felt pure andrenaline coursing through his veins. The Namekian gave him a smirk and reached over to a statue of a Four Star Dragonball he was standing next to. He pressed down on it and the middle if the floor began to descend. He walked to it and stood there, descending to an underground room. Raizoku dashed toward the Namekian and waited with him on the moving platform. "We'll have more room down here," he told Raizoku. "I just came here for a job," Raizoku said. As the platform came to a complete stop, Raizoku looked at his surroundings and saw that they were in what appeared to be a large empty room with little light. He was still on an adrenaline high when he heard the Namekian speak. "Did you think you would get hired as soon as you got here?", The Namekian asked. "It crossed my mind," he replied. "If you can get past me, you are hired, got it?", He asked Raizoku. "Got it. Wait, is this fight to the death?", Raizoku asked with some anticipation. "Ha!", The Namekian said as he charged yet again at Raizoku. This time with a kick aimed at his face. Raizoku was prepared this time. He put up his left arm to block, while grabbing the Namekian's leg with his right hand and slamming him to the ground. He then went to stomp on him, but was too slow. The Namekian rolled right and got up quickly. Both fighters dashed toward each other and began exchanging blows to the head, body, and legs. With their speed, hundreds of kicks and punches were thrown in a matter of seconds. They were wearing each other out. Raizoku quickly charged an Energy Blast and hurled it toward his opponent, who dodged it with ease. This "interview" wasn't going as easily as he had hoped. Not giving up, Raizoku hurled another Energy Blast, only this time he kicked it toward his opponent. The Namekian wasn't expecting it, and was hit directly in the chest. He staggered weakly, but regained focus and went on the offensive. Raizoku had to block and evade multiple Energy Blasts while trying to keep his opponent in sight. The room was lit up as if ablaze from a fire. It was disorienting to Raizoku, who had to adjust to the bright light, compared to the dimness of the room when he had first entered. He had to focus, but being attacked so rapidly threw off his concentration. Raizoku continued to do his best to protect himself. He swatted and dodged every attack coming his way. The tide of battle had to change. Frustrated with himself, Raizoku released the strongest Energy Blast he possibly could, right in front of him. It sailed through the room and hit nothing but the wall, though at least it put a stop to the Namekian's barrage of Energy Blasts. It gave Raizoku enough time to get a peripheral glimpse of the Namekian trying to attack with a flying punch from the right. Razioku quickly lay low to the ground and kicked up with both feet just in time to hit his opponent in the stomach. Landing the kick was not enough. Raizoku used his upper body strength to push himself from the floor, into the ceiling with the Namekian nearly crushed to death. He released him, and powered down to his minimum Power Level. The adrenaline coursing through his veins slowly receded, making Raizoku feel cheated from not being able to finish off an opponent in battle. "You're...hired", The Namekian said weakly. He coughed and tried to get up. "Let me help you. I'm sorry I lost control. Will you be okay?," Raizoku said as he tried to assist the hurt Namekian warrior. "I can get up on my own!", he snapped at Raizoku while sitting up on the ground. Finally getting to his feet, the Namekian warrior arched his back and screamed. "AAARRRGGGHHH!!!" He had regenerated the damaged parts of his body and looked nearly untouched, though obviously weakened from the battle. He said nothing, and went to stand on the platform that brought them down. Raizoku joined him, and they began the ascension back to the main floor. "Will I be protecting you?", Raizoku asked. It seemed odd to him to protect a warrior who could take care of himself so well. "Not me, my young brother. I have duties elsewhere that require my immediate attention. The Androids that led you in are mine. They are programmed to protect my brother and I, but they will be coming with me," he told Raizoku. They reached the main floor and Raizoku felt relief that he had passed the test and now had a job he would enjoy. The Namekian warrior walked as if it were just a normal day and no battle had taken place just moments ago. He led Raizoku down a hallway opposite to where the Android bodyguards had gone. The hallway was long and had many doors, some of which Raizoku heard strange sounds. Some were screams or laughs. He even heard hysterical laughing. "What's going on in these rooms?, Raizoku asked hesitantly. His question went ignored. "Okay. Who, and what, will I be protecting him from?", he asked. "You will protect him from everyone. You will protect him for as long as you are paid. Understood?", the Namekian looked fiercely into Raizoku's eyes as he spoke. "Understood", Raizoku replied. After what he had just gone through, Raizoku knew his job would be far from boring. He would do his best to make a living this way, since it would pay well. The potential for fighting was an upside as well. He would come out of this job stronger than ever. He would make his father proud. His mother would shudder at the thought of him fighting. She understood though, that it was in his blood. He was determined to make a mark on the world, as long as it was a positive one. Protecting a kid from the evils of the world was a start. ---Total Words: 2,014 ---Gainage: 6 RPC (2 RPC per 300 words.
