Alex sighed and looked around the crash site. There were several wounded Rukotoians scattered all over the place, and among them were some damaged androids. The Rukotoians with medical training were working as fast as they could to save as many people as possible, but there were too many wounded. There was no way that they could do this on their own. The mechanics were also unable to keep up with the damaged androids. Several of them were going off line and none of them would be able to be reactivated. Alex glanced down at Silvana, the Maccabee type android that had saved him when the bulk cruiser had crashed. She was damaged the most, since she was missing the lower half of her left leg, her primary reactor was offline, and the part of her outer shell that protected her back was completely blown apart. Alex was amazed that she was still online and somewhat operational. Silvana glanced up at Alex with her glowing purple eyes, and weakly smiled. ”Well? Don’t just stand there. See what you can do to help.” she instructed him as she leaned her shoulder against the tree she was sitting next to, attempting to save as much energy as possible. Alex gazed at the devastation with his glowing cyan eyes, then looked back down at Silvana. ”Like what?! I’m no mechanic, and I have almost no experience in tending wounds besides small scraps and band-aids!” Alex exclaimed as he threw his arms up in despair, wanting to help but not knowing how. ”Then it should be obvious what you should do, isn’t it? I did tell you that the natives here are rather strong.” Silvana replied with another weak smile, and Alex slapped himself on the forehead. ”You’ve got to be kidding. You want me to go out and search for help?! I’m no diplomat!” Alex responded with a groan. ”No, you’re not. You are a being that is desperate and in need. We all are… but you have the ability to travel right now, unlike the rest of us. Now, get going and see if you can find someone that might be willing to help us. I spotted a village in that direction while I was inspecting the damage. See if someone there can help heal our wounded.” Silvana stated plainly as she pointed towards some low rolling hills. Alex sighed and nodded. ”Alright, fine. I’ll go.” Alex said then jumped into the air and started to fly in the direction that Silvana had pointed. After flying for roughly two minutes, Alex’s new built in scouter beeped at him, telling him that he was heading towards several beings with average power levels. Alex slowly drifted downwards as he flew, and saw the village in the distance. To his surprise though, there were a few beings flying out of the village and heading towards him! Alex slowed down his flight until he was just floating in mid air with his hands hanging loosely at his sides, a peaceful gesture… or so he hoped that the beings coming towards him would interpret it as. It wasn’t long before three beings with green skin arrived at his location… and all three of them looked rather mad. Alex’s eyes studied each on of them, then gulped slightly. They must be the Nameks that Silvana mentioned… but Alex wasn’t sure if he wanted to even get close enough to them to talk. ”Um…” Alex started, then was quickly cut off by the on in the middle, clearly the leader. ”Leave this place now before we kill you. I will not stand for another invasion of our home.” the Namek said as he formed a ball of yellow ki energy in his right hand. Oh lug nuts…. Post word count: 629 |

Alex quickly flew backwards several feet and frantically held his hands up in defense. All three Nameks had power levels of at least 5,000 and Alex was no where near that. He would be destroyed if he only faced one of them, but he would give that one guy a hard time. Against all three… he’d be spare parts in a matter of minutes. ”Wh-what a minute! We’re not invading! I swear it! We only crashed here!” Alex spoke frantically, not wanting to get turned into a smoldering pile of scrap metal. The Namek that was in charge of the group eyed him warily, then lifted up the hand that wasn’t holding the ki energy ball. The next thing that Alex knew, the Namek’s extended arm suddenly seemed to extend at lighting speed, grabbed Alex by the neck, and pulled him in so fast that Alex’s boots flew off his feet and fell to the ground below. Alex quickly grabbed the wrist of the hand that was holding his neck and tried to pull himself free… but he wasn’t strong enough. This Namek over powered him easily, and Alex could feel the Namek putting pressure on his neck, as if to let him know that he’ll choke him to death if he didn’t do as he was told. The Namek then used his thumb to push against Alex’s chin, forcing him to look up into the Namek’s eyes. ”We already know this.” he said sternly, and Alex’s eyes went wide. ”What? You knew that? Well, then would you be willing to give us a hand? Many of those that survived the crash are wound-“ Alex said, but was cut off when the Namek used his thumb to push Alex’s mouth shut. ”We know this as well. Our hearing is acute. I can hear their moans of pain right now. However, how should I know that this isn’t some kind of trick to lull us into a false sense of security so you can stab us in the back?” The Namek bellowed down at Alex, who gulped again. If he was an organic, his heart would be going a mile a minute and his skin would be white as a sheet. ”But we really did crash here! There are people hurt! Why won’t you believe me when I say that we’re in desperate need of help??” Alex wailed through his teeth, then completely shut his trap when the Namek raised the ki energy ball in his other hand so it was level with Alex’s eyes. ”Nothing.” the Namek replied as he pulled his arm back so he could slam the ki energy ball into Alex’s face. ”Pike, that is enough!” an elderly voice shouted from below, and Alex glanced downwards to see an elderly Namek with a walking staff standing on the ground below them, giving the Namek that was holding on to Alex’s neck a stern look. Clearly, the Namek that was holding O’Ryan’s neck was actually Pike, since he let go of Alex’s neck and then allowed his ki energy ball to fade. Alex looked up at Pike, then down at the elderly Namek. ”Uh… would you be willing to help us sir?” Alex asked as he floated downwards towards the ground, with Pike and the other two Nameks closely on his tail. ”Only if you prove that you are not here with ill intentions.” the elder responded as he rubbed his chin, thinking of what Alex could do to prove himself. When Alex, Pike, and the other Nameks landed, the elder smiled, knowing what he wanted Alex to do to prove himself. [colore=orange]”Listen closely. Not long before you’re ship started to enter our atmosphere, another space vessel had landed nearby. We know that ship very well, since the people that ride within it have attacked us several times. I shouldn’t be asking an outsider to do this, but if you would stop them from attacking us today, you would’ve earned my trust.”[/color] The elder stated, explaining what he wanted Alex to do, and pointed in the direction that this enemy was going to be coming from. The reactions that Alex, Pike, and the other Nameks that could hear the elder say that were all rather similar in a way. The words were quite alike… the way it was delivered by each person was different though. ”Wait, you want me to do what? Sure, I can tell that you’re stronger then I am. Are you sure I can do this?” Alex asked, feeling a bit puzzled that the elder wanted him to do this instead of some other task, like plowing a field or hunting down some food for him. Pike’s reaction, on the other hand, was different. ”What?! Elder, have you lost your mind? Intrusting an outsider with such an important task is unheard of!” Pike shouted, clearly outraged at this turn of events. The elder only slowly shook his head and smiled. ”If you don’t want him to handle it alone, then how about you go with him?” the elder responded with. ”What?!” ”This is the task that I want him to do to prove himself with. If he does it, then I will trust him and give him the medical support his people need. If not, then we will have an easier time fighting them off because he has weakened them.” ”You’re talking as if he as already accepted the task of stopping our enemy.” Pike said with annoyance, then his eyes went wide when he thought he heard movement. He turned around, and Alex was gone. He turned to face the direction of the sound of flowing air, and saw Alex flying in the direction that the elder had indicated. ”I think he did accept the task Pike. We will find out shortly if he has what it takes to complete this task.” the elder said, then turned and walked back towards the village, leaving Pike standing there, dumbfounded. Alex, in the mean time, was flying over the low rolling hills, heading towards another set of ki signatures that his built in scouter was picking up. Alex dived downwards and flew behind a ridge when he saw the small ship the attackers were using. Alex landed and peeked around the side to see what was going on, and saw several small aliens with purple skin that were preparing to attack. Their power levels were rather low… but there were quite a few of them. After waiting a few moments, a larger alien with blue skin came out of the ship, and its power level was at least 4,000. ”Oh boy… this is going to be tough…” Alex said to himself quietly, then rolled his shoulders and prepared himself to attack. Pike finally managed to snap himself out of his stunned state, and turned to look in the direction that Alex had flown, and narrowed his eyes. He didn’t trust Alex. He was one of the few people in his village that had learned how to sense ki energy, and he couldn’t sense Alex. That meant one thing… Alex was an android… and Pike didn’t trust androids. They didn’t have a heart, that didn’t have a soul, and they sure as hell don’t have the ability to tell the difference between right and wrong. They could only follow their programming. Pike snorted, and then floated into the sky. He could sense the presence of the incoming attackers. He knew he could take on the little grunts, and he could take on the leader… but he couldn’t take both on at once. He spat some saliva out of his mouth, and then started to power fly towards the invaders. Alex took in a deep breath, and then slowly let it out. He watched some Rukotoians do this, and then saw that it helped calm them down. However, when he did it, he only felt more nervous. Could he really do this? He wasn’t sure. However, when he started to think about what would happen to the Rukotoians if they didn’t get any medical help soon, he shuddered, and made up his mind. He stepped out from behind the ridge and charged towards the invaders. He had one advantage that the Nameks didn’t have… he was and android. As a result, he couldn’t be sensed or detected. As a result, he had the element of surprise on his side. As Pike neared the alien’s location, he slowed himself down and started to suppress his ki energy. Once he was close enough to see what was going on, he landed on the ground behind a slope and lay down on the ground. He then soldier crawled up the slope till he was able to see what was going on. When he did, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Alex was charging at the alien invaders on foot… and none of the aliens even reacted to him! It was like they couldn’t even see him! Alex reached the group of smaller aliens and kicked on rather hard on the back, causing it to squeal in surprise and in pain. It then landed on the ground with a thud. As if they were all connected, every single alien turned their heads in the direction of their fallen comrade… but they didn’t look at Alex. They were only looking at the location where he had landed. Alex quickly slammed his knee into another one, then brought is fist down on another. Both squealed in surprise and pain, fell to the ground, and stopped moving. The reactions were the same. The aliens all turned their heads towards their fallen comrades, but not at Alex. It was then that Alex got a good look at their eyes, and his jaw dropped in realization. They don’t have eyes! They are completely dependent on their sense of hearing, smell, and the ability to sense ki energy! No wonder they aren’t attacking me! They can’t smell me, nor sense me… and the last thing they hear is the sound of their comrade hitting the ground, which is keeping them from hearing me! I’ve got it in the bag! Alex thought in realization, then quickly started to attack the rest. Pike couldn’t believe what he was seeing! Alex was taking them all out without any opposition at all! ”Now I know you’re only trying to fool us! You’re attacking them, and they aren’t fighting back!” Pike shouted, and waves of ki balls from all of the minions were hurled towards him. They had heard his voice, and used that to find his location. Alex danced around the beam balls and continued his attack without replying. Soon, all of the purple alien minions were on the ground, and Pike was picking himself up, bruised and burnt from all of those beam balls. All that was left was the leader of the aliens. Alex turned to face him and quickly curled his hands into fists. The leader had the same problem… he didn’t have any eyes. With a smile, Alex chose to finish this off quickly and extended his arms and opened his hands so his palms were facing the leading alien. Within Alex’s field of vision, the heads up display being made by his built in scouter put a set of cross hairs over the blue alien’s torso and turned red as the words ‘target locked’ appeared under the cross hairs. Seconds later, a barrage of beam balls that were launched from Alex’s hands started to pelt the blue alien with ki energy. The big blue guy tried to attack back since he could now sense Alex’s location, but Alex wasn’t going to give him the chance to fight back. He just kept firing until the blue alien fell over and landed with a thud. Post word count: 854 Total word count: 2,619 |

Alex was about to fly back to the village when his built in scouter beeped a warning at him, and Alex quickly ducked… resulting in him avoiding Pike’s extending arm. Alex turned around to ask Pike why he was doing this, only to get the other extending arm to the throat. ”I should’ve known that this was a trick! They just let you do this to them!” Pike shouted as he pulled Alex in close by the neck as he recalled his other arm back and formed another ki energy ball in his hand. ”Wait a second! They didn’t fight back because they could locate me! Look at them! They don’t have any eyes, and no one can sense an android!” Alex cried out before Pike struck. However, the attack didn’t come. Something had grabbed Pike’s wrist and stopped him. Alex opened his eyes and saw Silvana’s hand on Pike’s wrist. She had used her flight ability to move with only one leg and took Pike by surprise. ”Huh?! What are you doing here?!” Alex wailed out in surprise, and Silvana only smiled in response. ”Several Nameks arrived at our crash sight a few seconds ago, saying that they could hear you fighting off an alien invasion force… and from the sounds of the battle, you were winning. They’re now using their ki energy to heal everyone. The elder pointed me in this direction, saying that he wasn’t sure how Pike would react, so he wanted someone to make sure that you would be safe. Since I can move around safely now, I came.” Silvana stated as she used her other hand to force Pike’s hand to open and release Alex. Alex took a few steps away from Pike, and turned one of the aliens over, showing that it didn’t have any eyes. Pike stared at it in disbelief. ”It’s true… you were telling the truth.” Pike said in astonishment, and then clenched his fists hard enough that a tiny bit of Namek blood came out. He turned on his heel, and looked over at narrowed his eyes at Silvana. She smiled in response, and let go. Pike snorted in response, then started to fly back to his village. Alex turned to Silvana and shrugged. ”So now what?” he asked her as they started to head back to the crash sight. ”You’re going on a trip with the elder. He says that someone like you might need some extra training, and he knows just who to have do it… the leader of their people, Guru.” ”I’m going WHERE?!” Post word count: 430 Total word count: 3,049 |
