It was one of those rainy days at Master Roshi's training island, and yet the pupils had their time spent by training in that island for their part in life as students only has just began. Krillin, a recent student of Master Roshi's has been training in that island along with the other students while trying to fight in the rainy day, making it difficult to move around without slipping much - which means a great way of training your Ki transferring abilities, as by focusing Ki on your feet you can keep yourself steady on water without slipping too much from it. The annoying part, however, came when the rain fell with it's gentle drops on the young man's bald head. It then occurred when the training had to be stopped for the master himself came to the island with a car floating on water, coated with what seems to be a slightly large raincoat around the car and a huge umbrella covering the entire vehicle and blocking the rain drops from falling on top of the car. Coming on the island's shore by parking on the water's surface of all places, the master approached his students and then announced his words for them to hear. It wasn't very clear, for the rain's noise falling on top of the master's umbrella kind of got in the way. The pupils were also a bit exhausted from training and their panting interrupted in addition - though it wasn't very critical as the rain drops on the umbrella and the engine's noise. Both were the largest obstacles to hear the master's words - but neither stopped them completely. Krillin looked at the rest of the pupils. There almost were no others when it came to numbers - but they still stood there, ready to be fully aware of their master's words concerning what he wants from them. They didn't imagine it's going to be such a bother once they get there, of course, since this rapid change in temperature and weather is sure to affect them. WORD COUNT: 340. TOTAL WORDS: 340. |

Master Roshi wore his normal clothing, consisting of his orange wide Chinese jacket with long sleeves which is always closed, and blue wide pants. He soon opened his mouth to speak for the pupils. "Hi there. Looks like you're busy, aren't you. Well, cut the small talk, I need someone to do a chore for me, it won't be so hard Treat it like training. Anyone?" One of the pupils quickly stepped forward. It wasn't someone Krillin knew very good, but he seemed to always jump straight into the water when it comes to helping his master out. Perhaps he has mercy on this over 300-years-old hermit? Master Roshi drove away with the pupil in the car, leaving his pupils back at the island - still training in the rain. It was a good 3 hour session of fighting against each other, that is, if they wanted to increase their power in some manner. They were all past the small training part with the turtle shells, and all moved already to the weighted armbands and leg wraps. Fighting with these accessories wasn't harder than fighting with the turtle shell on, but it still packed a rather large weight on their limbs. After all, if you fall with a shell, it takes time to stand up. The session ended like time just slipped by, without even feeling the minutes pass. It just occurred to one of them that 3 hours passed already and it's time to take a small break. Roshi's training normally consisted of studying every now and then as well, so you won't be only brawn and no brains. Something weird, however, interrupted the remaining trainees when the master's car approached them once more, this time without the umbrella - leaving the old geezer entirely soaked with water for staying outside without a roof on top of his head. It's strange how the weather didn't change there, a 3-hour straight rain. "Krillin, get in the car! This is important!!" He said, obviously rushing. WORD COUNT: 329. TOTAL WORDS: 669. |

"What is it Master Roshi?" Krillin asked, calmly though. He didn't mind the fact that his master looked all nervous and the pupil he took along with him wasn't back from wherever this old man took him to. He assumed, they're probably planning a new prank on him or something similar for their normal habits. But when the master spoke, Krillin wasn't amused. "Kora got seriously injured on his chore, you've got to help him out!!" Truth be told, Krillin wasn't the strongest trainee Master Roshi trained. But it is indeed true that if the master chose someone else, (this quest will never end for someone else doing the job) the most chances are for them to fail - as the bald young man has known Roshi for around a few days longer than the rest of the pupils - and has trained in the island in the hotter seasons of the year, thus dealing with the temperature and weather conditions shouldn't be too hard for him. Plus, the master most likely chose on instinct. While driving Krillin away from the island, Roshi explained all there was to know about this small problem that Kora, the other pupil, met with and thus failed to fully accomplish his mission given by not directly the old master, but from his friend - a certain old woman which for some reason is as old as he is. These old guys just never die, do they. "Krillin, we're going to the desert now, where Kora was last seen in his injury. You need to get an old friend of mine some food and water. If I'm not mistaken, I think Kora's supplies were all stolen by bandits, also the reason for him getting hurt. You're stronger, so you go do it. Just in case, I got new food and water supplies for her, so come back. Oh, and if you can't find Kora, don't sweat it, but I won't forgive you!" Chances are Master Roshi didn't want to lose Kora for his pure heart and good intentions - most of the time concerning Roshi's needs and chores. He didn't need to lift even a finger and Kora was already there to take care of whatever needs to be done. Krillin hoped down from the floating vehicle as soon as the two got there, right near a small trail of blood across the sand. Waving bye to his master while holding two large paper bags, Krillin started to run, in search for his fallen comrade. "Just be safe, don't cause too much trouble!" Running across the desert after being dropped, Krillin followed the light trail of blood left by supposedly, Kora, who was injured according to Master Roshi by bandits that resident in the desert's area. Taking care of the other pupil might be the first priority the bald man had in his mind currently, as the old hag's life didn't really depend on the supplies Roshi sent with his two pupils - who will eventually, hopefully, will bring it to her. As he was running, Krillin started to notice that the blood's trail is fading slowly - noting that Kora's injury wasn't so serious and quickly congealed. Feeling a little relief, Krillin looked at the sky, noticing that it's getting darker and the sun is starting to set. This calls for a faster run. It wasn't long, though, before he encountered the bandits of the desert. Apparently they used some kind of method that allows them to hide underground, not letting anyone notice their presence. The jumped on Krillin with an ambush, each holding a weapon: a mace, a gun, a knife, one even yielded a fork. Quickly acting, Krillin performed a spinning, roundhouse kick that knocked most of them away, while one was about to attack him. He jumped up and smashed the bandit's head with his knee, using gravity to his aid. Seeing as they're outmatched from only a single hit from the warrior, even if not everyone were hit, the bandits ran away like animals with their tails between their legs. Feeling a bit proud of himself, Krillin kept on running - not knowing he's being tracked. He couldn't foresee that the bandits are quite intelligent, smarter than he though they were in the first place, as going as far as attacking a pupil of Master Roshi would become a very unworthy deed. Krillin managed to find Kora as the sun completely set. "Kora, are you okay?" He asked while panting from the run he just had. Kora was fast asleep, noting he was okay. Picking him up and searching for a shelter for the night, Krillin struggled to keep the supplies safe - for his first mission was currently done. WORD COUNT: 360. TOTAL WORDS: 1442. |

Finding a shelter shortly after in what looks like a deserted city in the middle of the desert, Krillin laid Kora down on the floor, as he woke up. "Ungh... Remind me never to take a nap at the desert again, I think I have sand in my butt..." Krillin looked over to his fellow pupil and laughed a bit. "Hehe, guess you're right. So, tomorrow morning we're off to that old woman's house, and get this whole story over with, yes?" Kora nodded and set down. Krillin fell asleep, with Kora not so long after him. The two woke up the next morning only to figure out that their supplies were stolen. Panicking, the two pupils set out to search for clues about the stolen food and water. If it's gone, this could be really bad, but luckily they still had some time. Kora managed to find some motorbike footprints on the sand, for the wind at the time was surprisingly weak. The heat was the only thing that got in the way. Following the trails on the sand as fast as they could, Krillin and Kora caught up with the bandit's motorcycles - with the bags containing the food and water hanging around the handles of one of them. This could mean - their best chance is to attack and receive their stuff back by force. And so they did: upon reaching the same level as the bike, the rider noticed the two fighters running at a speed equal to his motor and was caught by surprise, tackling Krillin with the bike. The bald human managed to block the metal block and pushed it sideways, not after stealing the bag from the handle. Kora was ready from the other side, snatching the bags as fast as he could and moving out of the way to let the bike fall down. The other bikers started shooting the two warriors with their guns, one of them using a Bazooka. Once they started attacking, Krillin got into a little more action, using his Fire Breath attack to take out most of the bullets while still in motion. He left the bags to Kora and had him go to the old hag's house, according to the map he received from Master Roshi (how very convenient). Staying behind, Krillin toyed with the bandits until he decided that it's enough. They weren't much of a challenge, but just to make sure they don't interfere with the old lady's life - he knocked them out in a few minutes. They weren't really much of a challenge, but more of weapon wielders. Convincing their leader to not mess with the old lady that lives in the desert, he left back to where Kora was heading. After giving the old lady the supplies Master Roshi sent to her, Kora and Krillin stayed for an hour in the grandma's house for a small rest. "So, Kora... Now that we're here, there's one thing left to take care of." Kora wondered what could it be, but then noticed what Krillin was talking about. The problem concerned him as well. "... How are we going to get out of here?" QUEST END WORD COUNT (without applying OOC): 527. TOTAL WORDS: 1969. |
