Rutak Village

Rutak Village was once a prosperous place. That is until 'The Storm' hit centuries ago. 'The Storm' was a planet-wide disaster that lasted for months. Rutak was flooded by torrential rains and now is just a lost place underneath the ocean. There was a Dragonball under the care of an elder in Rutak, but now it is buried under leagues of sea. You'll have to go diving if you wish to retrieve it.

Goku Junior had been flying for hours and still had a good distance to cover before he reached the dragon balls location. So far, this particular item was the farthest away from any of the others he'd already found. He had no clue as to exactly where he was and for the past thirty minutes, all that he could see, in every direction he looked, was wavy green waters. Every now and then he would zip over a small blue island, but other than that...... nothing. Not a bird, a fish, a bug, nor even a Namekian native to give a friendly wave.

"What's up with this place," he muttered, "there is no life anywhere." It was a strange phenomenon indeed.

Before, he'd couldn't even go five seconds without finding some sort of life. "I hope this ball isn't at the bottom of the ocean somewhere," the Saiyan said with a reluctant sigh.

"Hopefully, the radar will take me to a island with a cave or something. Maybe the ball could even be floating on top of the water. That would be nice. Anything but the bottom of the ocean. There's always some kind of monster waiting for me down there."

Several minutes later, Goku took another look to the radar that revealed his presence above the dragonball blip. He instantly stopped and tucked the device away. Despite all of his angst filled plea's, there was no land to be found anywhere around him. He was hovering above a very placid and seemingly endless body of water. The Son warrior's hand instantly raised and slapped onto his smug-looking face.

As the appendage slowly melted down from his visage, he said, "just my luck! You ask for rain and you get fire!"

Shaking his head, Junior stripped off his blue, super weighted training gear and secured them within a tiny capsule like magic. He grumbled aloud the whole time as he did so; obviously out of annoyance of the situation. He then replaced the capsule in his hand with another from his belt and pressed the button on top of the pill. After he threw the bean, it exploded in mid flight and released a small breathing apparatus. Goku then revoked his ki and splashed into the cool green water.

The Saiyan boy wanted to spend as little time possible in the eerie Namekian oceans. There was no telling what kind of diabolical creatures he was going to have to face. Thus far, collecting the dragon balls had been a fairly easy task, but his luck was bound to run out sometime. Right?

He slipped the breathing mask over his head and fixed it perfectly over his mouth. Then, with a loathing scowl about his face, the boy bobbed up and then submerged himself in to the placid liquid. Facing upside down and moving away from the suns, Goku went deeper and deeper. And, each league that he dropped, defeated more and more of the light as he dropped.

The Halfling viewed all sorts of life that he had never seen before and waved at them as he passed by. It then came to his attention that there were a lot of serpent-like and reptilian beasts in Namek's sea depths. There were some fish, but nothing like back home on Earth. It was enough of a thought to make him home sick and ponderous as he swam down all the way until it was completely dark.

Junior stopped at the point he was at and turned himself right side up. He hadn't reached the bottom yet, but knew that he could go any further until he could see something. It only took him a brief second to come up with a rather clever idea- one that he had use before on a similar debacle.

Clenching his fist, Goku awakened his ki and used it to encase his body in a translucent embodiment. But, the flaming aura only gave off little, if any, light. Pushing his ki just a little bit farther, he was able to will the energy and transformed it into an illuminating blue color that contrasted perfectly with the deep green water. Now he could see, and see good I might add.

With a blue, brilliantly burning energy surrounding his being, Goku illuminated the entire ocean floor. He didn't realize that he was so close, and slowly let himself sink to the bottom. When he landed, his feet perched on top of what the youngster thought to be a rock.

Come to find out, the brown rock actually was a large crab like species that slowly started to walk upon notice of the passenger. The boy Saiyan flashed a great big smile and crossed his arms. He was having a good time. If he could breath under water, then I'm sure the little Hybrid wouldn't mind staying down there. There were no hideous monsters, or at least none at the moment, and all of the aquatic life was so joyous and every bit as curious as he was. The child loved how some of the creatures swam up and interacted with him.

The happy Saiyan took the time to enjoy himself for just a minute, but then instantly put that on hold for something that was much more grand in appearance. His eyes humbly fixated upon a vast, sunken city with roads, vehicles, sky-scrapers, and everything that a metropolis could offer. It was like finding gold at a landfill.

Junior Goku dramatically thrust one arm at the city and pointed pointed an extend finger also, "onward march Mr. Crab," he said.

The taxi arthropod sounded out a couple of bubbly sounding squeaks and then emitted some winding sound from his legs- almost like gears turning. Following that, the creature bucked up and took off.

Completely not expecting the sudden change in pace, Goku was almost launched from the sea creature's rigid back. With his hair pulling backwards by means of the aquatic resistance, he knelt down and better secured himself with one hand. They were almost there, at the underwater city, and Junior thought of something that he did not notice before.

"Wait," he said, looking into on of the crab's out-board eyes, "why is this city under water in the first place?" The critter didn't reply and simply shrugged at the question. How would he know?

Being quite sure that he was in the right place, Goku hopped off of the taxi-crab and saluted the creature. "Thank you," he said with a wave. The arthropod gave two minor squeaks, raised one of his giant pincers, and returned the wave. Junior couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, if I were a dragonball, where would I be hiding," he thought to himself as he started down the paved streets.

He scanned left to right, up and down; the giant city was nothing like any other place on Namek. In fact, with every town on the humble planet looking like a third-world village, it looked more like a city from Earth that was transported to Namek and dropped into the ocean.

It wasn't long after that notion that Goku started realizing what going on.

"It sunk,” he said with a sad expression. He then took another close look around the city. There were crashed cars everywhere and all kinds of signs of destruction. It was then that he noticed the bare bones of dead Namekians that were randomly a skewed about the city.

Some of the skeletons were of small, child like sizes, much like Goku himself, but other’s were tall and adult sized. Even stranger, the young Saiyan was able to even distinguish the elderly from the rest by their posture and there final resting position.

One could almost depict the exact setting of the city’s last day in perfect detail. Something stuck out to the little warrior though. Something that struck him as eerie and odd. It was the fact that none of the skeletal figure’s appeared to be fleeing or even showing any signs of fear. It was apparent to him that none them had a clue that they were about to perish.

Even though the child knew what had happened, he still had no clue as to why. That’s were he ceased his thinking about the subject and reverted his thoughts back to the mission at hand. “The Dragonball,” he said then started off on his venture.

Goku Junior casually swam throughout the death filled streets. His heart became even more burdened the deeper he traveled. And, despite a lengthy stent of searching, no golden, glowing orb was to be found anywhere!

Some might argue that a much simpler route would be to use the dragon radar, but considering the location and the fluid that he was submerged in, it would be quite difficult for the electronic device to work, if at all.

Goku then let out a frustrated sigh, “where is it,” he muttered.

Just then, through the cascade of a tall building window, the Saiyan caught a glimpse of a faint golden aura. A spark of motivation instantly spurred through him and resurrected the boy from a slumpingly depressed, seated position.

Goku swam as hard and as fast as he possibly could. He chugged all the way up to the window and peered inside. The golden glow was even more distinct at his current position. A giant smile ripped across his childish face and a quick punch was thrown right into the bubbled glass window. The tempered material shattered instantly and provided a gaping passage for the boy’s entry.

Without any further delay, Goku floated inside and moved to the mystical ball. Upon arrival, the Saiyan noticed that an old Namekian phalange’s were gripping on to the ball. The fingers led to a ivory hand, and the hand land to and arm, which then led to a fleshless, boney corps. The boy felt a brief intrusion of sadness, but quickly pushed it down and reached for the dragon ball. With a firm, steady tug, the sphere was relinquished and awarded to the child.

Goku gave an enthusiastic and victorious jump, that inadvertently led to a rocketing escape out of the sky-scraper and quick exit out of the deep green ocean. With yet another dragon ball in his position, Goku hastily headed toward dry land and embarked on yet another mission for the next ball.
