Gosai shifted uneasily on the precipice of one of Namek's innumerable plateaus. Really, one had to wonder what kind of tectonic activity resulted in a planet who's sole landmasses seemed to be, essentially, an archipelago of jutting rock. Still, it did make it easier to narrow down searches for the 'Dragon Balls'. They had to be pretty valuable, so they'd be located on the islands. Likely in possession of some of the small villages scattered around the planet. Of course, the major concern was in figuring out exactly how the device worked. So far he'd discovered the on and off switch and was working on mastering the scale of the 'zoom' feature. "Technology. You and I will never quite see eye to eye, will we?" The human queried, barely taking notice of the massive shadow coming across the sky. Even if he had, there's every chance he'd have merely dismissed it as a cloud. At least until the source of the shadow descended low enough to block most of the sky. Finally deciding to look up, Gosai was able to see a massive ship. One clearly intended for interplanetary voyages. What it was doing on Namek was the question of the day though. The oddest feature of the ship, aside from it's largely ovalesque design was the state it seemed to be in. As far as Gosai could tell it looked to be ancient, barely functional technology. The metals of the ship itself were rusted, a few plants had somehow grown in the framework and sustained the voyage to this world without freezing in space, or incinerating in the atmosphere. Just as the human's curiosity was reaching fever pitch however, a cargo bay door opened up, dropping several small identical ships from it. Each seemed about the size of a human, perhaps with a little more room, and fell with a splash into the waters around the tiny island the human currently occupied. Soon though, life preservers inflated about the single-man ships, allowing them to rise to the surface and open up, revealing their contents. Each ship, five in all, contained a Namekian. Each one exuding power far in excess of the average warrior Gosai had encountered on the planet so far. "What do we have here?" The human murmured to himself. "Spread out." One of the Namekians ordered his comrades. "I want those dragon balls in my possession in twelve hours, am I understood!" He shouted to the others. Each one responded in the affirmative before taking off in different directions. Now quite curious the human stood up on the edge of his plateau before realizing that one of the not so little green men was still present. Or, had been until he vanished after a second. Gosai turned around quickly, just in time to be backhanded by the Namekian warrior. Stunned as he was by the blow he took a step back, nearly falling off the edge of the outcropping. "Ow... is that supposed to be some kind of traditional Namekian greeting?" He complained, rubbing his stinging cheek. "What exactly are you?" The warrior demanded, ignoring the human's statements. He merely approached close enough to examine the male, leaving Gosai glad he was keeping his power down. "Human. From Earth. Ever hear of it?" "No." The namekian responded gruffly. "Sorry to hear that. It's a nice plan-" He was caught off guard once again though, as the green man reached for the Dragon Ball Radar still in the human's hand. This time however, he reacted quickly enough to retain his possession. "Y'know, I figured you guys'd have a taboo against stealing." "Human, you've come to take what belongs to us. The Dragon Balls will be ours." The Namekian declared. "Now, give me the radar." "Sorry big guy, but we're kind of attached." He shook his head, pocketing the device. "If you wanna try and force the issue though, we can certainly play for a little bit." "The return of the Namekian empire is no game, human!" The warrior roared, flexing his ki to the point rocks towards the edge of the plateau began breaking off, tumbling down into the water. "Namekian... empire?" Gosai blinked, recalling the brief mention of this particular institution Guru had made. (Word Count: 325 Total Word Count: 707) |

There wasn't much more time to ponder this strange assertion, however, before the Namekian launched his next attack at Gosai. A potent ki blast. The human fighter, however, simply backpedaled and hopped off the edge of the plateau, allowing the burst of ki to sail overhead while he pushed out his ki to dart towards the other side. Finally focusing on his adversary's power it wasn't too difficult to realize he seemed to hold the advantage. This individual barely clocked in at half of Gosai's own strength and that was being generous the way he was hurling ki blasts across the circumference of the plateau in an attempt to make sure he hit the target. This guy's kind of an idiot, isn't he? The human queried to himself. Either way though, it was a chance to get to the bottom of all of this. Not entirely thinking his plan through, the human realized the stress his Namekian attacker was putting on the plateau was exactly what he needed. Rearing back he punched into a jutting crack in the rock before expelling a large burst of his own ki into it. The entire structure erupted like an energy spewing volcano. That was an awful metaphor. He chastised himself as he looked upwards. Hovering just outside of the blast itself he found the Namekian. He was bruised already, apparently not having escaped the entirety of the attack's fury. Although he did look quite a bit angrier now. "You're beginning to annoy me, human!" "Yeah, I do that to people." Gosai commented blithely, backpedaling in the air once again to avoid another onslaught of ki attacks. "Yeesh, doesn't this guy have any other tri-?" His sentence was quickly cut off by a grin fist across his jaw. One that hit with enough force to send him toppling into the water below. Okay, he does have other tricks. Good to know. He thought to himself before looking upwards, glad that Namek's water apparently had little to no salt in it. It made keeping his eyes open that much easier. And combining his ki sense with the shadows above it made his use of a favored technique all the easier. Two spheres of ki quickly formed up in Gosai's hands before he hurled each of them in a separate direction. After a moment's wait he quickly directed them to go up... Above the water, the nameless warrior glared and turned his attention towards his left where one sphere had already emerged, as it approached, he opened his mouth letting a loud yell dissipate the attack... before the second sphere smashed into his side, exploding with some potency. "Jackpot!" Gosai cried out, dripping wet as he soared out of the water, connecting an uppercut to the Namekian's jaw, and soon it was his turn to take a bath. One could hardly call how Gosai fought disciplined, but compared to his opponent, he had all the restraint of a master and it was paying with every moment the battle continued. His opponent's offensive prowess was quickly depleting itself with every attack. "...Are you really this stupid?" Gosai queried, batting away a punch before putting his hand down to stop a knee in mid-strike. "I mean c'mon. This is kinda sad." "Silence!" The Namekian shouted, stretching his arms out to latch onto the human's shoulders, dragging Gosai into a savage headbutt. This one left his head ringing and blood trickling down his forehead. "The Namekian empire will not be stopped by one such as you!" "Doesn't... there have to be... an empire before I can stand in it's way?" Gosai asked, slightly dizzy. Still he had enough left to wrap his own arms around the Namekian warrior, cupping his left wrist with his right hand before squeezing tight. The soft body of the green fighter was quickly giving way to him in a battle of strength. "Now, let's play twenty questions. Question one: what the hell is going on!?" The warrior gasped, thrashing in Gosai's grip but shook his head after a few moments. "We... we were colonists... from Namek... we've come too-" Sadly, before Gosai could get any further relevant information from his opponent his head popped. Or rather, exploded. Not from any effort on the human's part. No, the attack had come from above, where Gosai looked up to observe a new Namekian floating. This one appeared garbed in traditional Namekian clothing but was still glaring at Gosai as the last one had been. "Did... did you just kill your own teammate!?" Gosai demanded. The Namekian shook his head, and Gosai noted as he began to lower himself that this particular alien was a lighter shade of green than the average Namekian. "I killed a warrior who had outlived his use to us." He declared simply. (Word Count: 328 Total Word Count: 1,513) |

"And just who are you?" Gosai demanded, letting the body of the deceased warrior fall down into the water. For the moment ignoring that his face and hair were splattered with brain matter and bits of skull. That could be freaked out over later. The new warrior smiled savagely before giving Gosai a mock-bow. "I am Papaya, of the Namchek honor guard." Papaya's expression turned to a glare however when he was greeted only with a blank stare. "Namcheck. Of the Namekian colony planets?" He inquired. "Sorry. I just got here." Gosai shrugged. "I'm barely aware of Namek, let alone Namchek." "Ignorant little..." Papaya growled, before adjusting himself again, taking on a more dignified baring. "We at the planet Namchek were sent off from the planet Namek over two centuries ago in order to become one of the Namekian colony worlds during space exploration. However, something happened. We became cut off from our home world. Without the supplies that were once coming in shipments we were stranded. Stranded on an inhospitable new world. We had to evolve into-" "Hardier, more aggressive versions of your former species?" Gosai drawled. "This is like some kind of a bad science fiction movie. With a terrible, terrible writer." The Namekian paused, considering Gosai's words. "It kind of does." He admitted before jerking his head back up. "But never mind that! You have two choices, human. Either get out of our way... and surrender your dragonball radar, or be killed and have it taken by force." "Isn't there a third option to any of this?" "No." "I think there is." "And what would that be?" "I kick your ass, then your friends' asses, and you can assimilate back into Namekian culture." "I prefer my idea." Papaya declared simply. "kinda thought you would." Gosai shrugged, cracking his knuckles. "Let's do it then, eh?" (Word Count: 307 Total Word Count: 1,820) |

It would seem that Gosai's casual challenge had damaged even the collected Namekian's pride as he launched into battle against the human fighter with a snarl. His right hand extending rapidly to grasp Gosai's shoulder, talon-like nails digging into the flesh. As the human let out a low grunt from the lacerations, Papaya put a new spin on the stretching as he launched his head forward, colliding with Gosai's own skull. His head ringing he barely noticed as the Namekian pulled him closer before laying into him with a savage punch to the throat, leaning the human coughing and doubling over in the air. Still working on that whole 'breathing' thing, the human wrapped his arms around the Namekian warrior and began squeezing, much as he had his last opponent. "C'mon then!" He coughed, attempting to crush a couple of his ribs if he was lucky. "Show me... what you can do!" It seemed a ludicrous demand considering to all appearances Gosai was losing, but then one could argue he wasn't getting enough air to his brain with the coughing fits. But to the Namekian it was just another infuriating example of the human's arrogance and ended with a double hammer blow between his shoulder blades. Sucker. Gosai thought to himself as his body splashed through the cold Namekian water once again. Though this is getting kind of tiring... He had to admit before pushing out his hands and firing a small stream of ki, using the momentum to propel himself beneath the water. Okay. New guy is strong. Maybe stronger than me. At least, without going all 'Ultra-human' or something. Burns up energy pretty bad though. Maybe I should take out the others? Or... or go to the surface and breath! He quickly realized, starting to swim upwards again. Or, what he assumed was upwards. He couldn't be sure, what with the blacking out. (Word Count: 321 Total Word Count: 2,141) |

Waking up was a pleasant surprise. Of course, since his coma waking up in general was both a pleasant and welcome event. The location he was waking up on the other hand... less than pleasant. From his current perspective, he appeared to be strapped to a table converted into a hasty bed. If a small pillow and some paper sheets count as a 'bed'. "Oh, this is not good." "How right you are, human." He heard a squeaking voice off to the side. Craning his neck as best his position would allow, Gosai was able to find it's owner. A small Namekian holding a... scalpel? Well, that was as close as he could figure to what the knife it was holding might be. "Oh, this?" The Namekian queried, apparently having noticed Gosai's lingering stare. "Yes, they want me to do an autopsy. Though, since you're alive, it's really more a dissection." "...I don't care for that one bit." "Yes, we imagined you wouldn't. But, we must know exactly what the origin of your powers are. They very nearly rival Lieutenant Papaya. We must know what to expect from the universe at large." "Uh... it's just a healthy diet and lots of exercise?" Gosai suggested. "I'm afraid we simply cannot take your word for it." "...I thought not." Gosai groaned, testing his restraints again. They were strong, but would likely give with enough effort. "So, how goes the dragonball search?" He queried, tugging more at his restraints. "Hm? Those?" The Namekian 'doctor' asked, shaking his head. "Well, Lt. Papaya had to stall his search to deal with you... and we've lost contact with expeditionary parties sent to locate a cluster of two Balls." He commented thoughtfully. Gosai raised an eyebrow, considering that. One was likely dead, either form Namekian guardians, or from someone else collecting the dragonballs. Papaya was apparently the only real remaining threat. He'd killed one of his own men. So, from five searchers they'd gone down to only three. Two if he was really lucky. Ah, speaking of luck, his arm was finally free. "Well, thanks for the info." He grinned before raising his hand. It only took a minor ball of ki to knock the 'doctor' into a wall. Either deceased or unconscious Gosai wasn't certain but he knew he hadn't much more time. Anyone with the ability to sense ki likely felt the blast. That on his mind, he began ripping at the remainder of his restraints. Okay, you're on the ship. From here, you can really do some damage and stop this whole 'Fascist Namekian Empire' before it even happens. (Word Count: 473 Total Word Count: 2,614) |

His mind for once working as quickly as his body the human began running down hallways, taking corners where he could and blasting his way through walls where he couldn't. His knowledge of space ship design was, at the very highest, crude but he felt certain he could find his way to the engines. Take out the engines, and he could take out the ship. Take out the ship and the invasion falls flat. For now at least. And 'now' was all Gosai ever really seemed to care about. Extending his senses for trouble, the human could feel a familiar ki on the horizon of his awareness. So, they were already calling back Papaya. Good to know. I shouldn't waste time though. The human finally decided before reaching within himself. He was finding, over time, that turning on the 'switch' Guru had unlocked within himself was growing ever easier. Unleashing that hidden power was becoming a quicker event, more like simply powering up than unblocking some great beast. Still, he loved the rush of ki through his body and soon could feel his power straining against himself. "That's the stuff." He grinned before raising up both of his hands. It took mere moments for the spheres of energy to form up in his hands. Each one cast in another direction, tearing apart the ship's innards. With Papaya on his way, the plan changed for Gosai. He would do his best to keep the fight within the ship and allow their battle to tear it up as badly as possible. No fuss, no muss. Gosai grinned to himself as, right on cue, the Namekian warrior crashed through one of the holes he's left, drilling the human warrior in the chest with a kick that sent him skidding across the hallway of the ship. "Well... fancy seeing you too." He groaned, rubbing his chest. "You've got guts, human. I'll give you that if nothing else (Word Count: 325 Total Word Count: 2,939) |

"Any chance I can keep those guts an internal affair?" Gosai queried, offering a cheeky as ever smile while taking a step back from the Namekian soldier. Unfortunately, his adversary didn't seem terribly interested interested in continuing their conversation. In fact, he responded only by launching himself at Gosai, striking at the human with an aggressive offense. Much though he'd prefer to deny it, Gosai indeed was pushed backwards by the assualt. Oh, he's mad. Very mad. "Problems?" He asked, ducking under a fist before driving a punch into the Namekian's own ribcage. The moment he spent gasping, Gosai turned to run down another hallway. In the background, he could hear the furious green man ripping his way through the innards of the ship. "Yeesh, something must be going bad today." The human thought, pressing his finger to a wall, using a beam of ki to melt his way through it. Unfortunately, this was only a temporary solution as a massive blast of ki ripped through the section of walling Gosai was hidden in, leaving him sprawled across the ground, groaning. Papaya glared hatefully down at the human, stomping his foot onto the boy's chest. "I suppose you think you're clever, hm?" He demanded, grinding the limb down on Gosai. "You keep me distracted and local warriors end up killing off our seekers? How did you warn them!?" He demanded, stomping down on the human. "Didn't..." He moaned, trying to sit up only to be laid back down with a firm kick to the side of his head. "So I'm expected to believe that a group of peaceful, agrarian weaklings could stop the future itself!?" He roared. "Kinda." Gosai coughed, sitting up enough to drive his elbow into Papaya's knee, listening to it overextend with a terrible 'crack'. The soldier calle dout, screaming as he fell over. Once again, Gosai began crawling away, seemingly at random. But always, he appeared to make the mistake of exerting his own ki to tear through the walls. C'mon. You can't be down yet, Papaya. Chase me! He called out mentally. --- Word Count: 351 Total Word Count: 3,290 |

The human hadn't needed to wait long before a surge of ki erupted further from him, the power shaking apart the damaged innards. "Yeesh, this guy wont give up..." Gosai mumbled with a smirk. "Lucky me." Those words had barely left his lips before a long green arm began extending down the hallway he was currently contained in. The human was forced to brace himself to avoid being pulled back to its owner. "C'mon, why don't you play up... here!" he demanded, yanking upon the appendage as hard as he could. He was able to feel a slackening on the arm, indicating the coming of Papaya. "Heh, guess no one taught you about our species biology." Papaya laughed as he walked, with a limp true, towards Gosai. "You'll need to do more than hit a bone to immobalize a Namekian warrior." He laughed, extending his hand, a ball of ki forming in front of it. "A shame you'll never get a chance to learn more." He declared, unleashing the surge of energy. The attack was a powerful one, burning through the material of the floor, and Gosai's own body, leaving him raw and singed. "This is a terrible plan." Gosai groaned, pushing into a sitting position again. But finally, as he looked around, he saw where he was. The Engine Room. "Score." He declared, his face turning to a grin as he managed to stand up. Long enough for Papaya to land another punch to his face, sending him stumbling backwards. Shaking his head though, Gosai adjusted his stance. "Say goodnight, grace." He declared with a grin, raising his hands over his head. Ki slowly building up between the joined palms. Slowly... slowly. Almost as though it were taunting Papaya. "Don't you dare!" The Namekian roared, running towards Gosai, arm outstretched. "Masenko..." He called out, thrusting his hands forward. At Papaya and a section of what had to be engines. "Ha!" He roared, unleashing a thick column of ki at the green warrior. The impact had it's own sickening sensations. This time for Papaya. His hand was quickly bent backwards, fingers against his hand, then the hand itself was pushed back as the searing ki burned flesh away. His own body became a ram, smashing through equipment even as the Masenko attack damaged them beyond repair. All at once, the massive ship seemed to lurch before plunging from skies of Namek. "Looks like it's time to run." Gosai mumbled, turning his hand towards a nearby wall and firing off another burst of ki before taking flight out of the ship. He never bothered to look back as it crashed into the oceans of the planet. As it was, had he looked he might have noticed a green figure swimming below the waters... "Another exciting day on Namek." He mumbled. (Word Count: 469 Total Word Count: 3,759) |
