Ishnuk Village While Narenka is an old and wise Namek, Polik is one of the strongest. With exception only to Guru's personal security, Polik is one of the strongest warriors Namek has ever seen and so he was entrusted with protecting one of the sacred Dragonballs. Get it from him. ---- Gosai gave an annoyed grunt, finding that he had once again wandered off course and gotten lost. How exactly one got lost when there were almost no real landmasses to speak of, while on an island was beyond him. The fact that he could do it flawlessly without even realizing it was just one of the many 'perks' of his adventurous lifestyle. The downside of easily getting lost and wandering into 'interesting' scenarios however meant that he often ran out of food half-way. Such as now. Where the young man had once looked healthy and robust he was emaciated and frail looking. Quite a transformation after only two days, or what he assumed were days, without eating. "Food..." he moaned aloud. "Need... food." He continued, stumbling forward along the grassy plains of Namek. As ever, the big problem with the hungry warrior was finding the energy to keep going forward under the heat of Namek's ever present suns. A shaking hand reached into a large pocket, removing the Dragon Ball Radar. "J-just... just about... there." He grunted once more before pitching forward and falling face-first into the grass. "Hungry." He mumbled again, looking forward at te domed huts that marked the next Namekian village in the distance. The village holding the dragonball. His dragonball. Reaching forward with one hand, he began dragging himself. "I'm... coming. Azumi... grandpa... Area..." It couldn't be certain how long Gosai had been asleep for, but it was a resless sleep and as soon as green eyes opened up to the world, they were greeted by several tall green men. "Oh god, I'm gonna be probed!" He shouted, falling out of the bed. "Ow." He grumbled, hitting the ground. "Er... sorry about that. I have weird dreams." "So we noticed." One of the older looking of the species grunted, looking down where the young man had landed rather unceremoniously. "You talk in your sleep, by the way." "...Just about lechery?" Gosai asked nervously. "And about dragon balls." The aged Namek added, watching critically for Gosai's next action. "....Well, so much for subtlety." The human fighter groaned. (Word Count: 350) |

"What is your business with our dragon ball?" The Namekian elder demanded of Gosai, pointing an accusing finger at the human male. Immediately, he realized this one was going to be harder to talk his way through than the situations he'd gotten into with Guru, Bassoo, and Clarinet. Already it appeared that he was on the bad side of his... captors? Rescuers? He wasn't sure which they were yet. "Er... well, I kinda need a wish." Gosai admitted sheepishly. "Generally that's why people seek the dragon balls." Another, younger namek snorted, glaring at Gosai critically. At a glance, this new Namekian was bulkier than he had seen most with a firm square jaw... in fact, his chin seemed to be almost exactly the size of the human fighter's fist. Vaguely, he wondered if that was an omen. "What is the wish you want?" "...I'm just trying to fix a mistake I made." The young human mumbled, looking away from the bulky Namekian. "We should send him away, Narenka." He declared, looking over at the aged Namekian. "He is a traveler in need, Polik." The older Namekian, Narenka, asserted to his youthful counterpart, shaking his head. "We cannot cast away any being in need, regardless of their intentions." "He wants the dragon ball!" Polik roared. "You know the trouble those who seek the relics cause!" "Er, if I can make a suggestion? You could just hand me the ball and I'll be on my way..." "Was that supposed to be a joke?" Polik demanded, turning his gaze back at the human, uncertain what to make of him. "Well, unless you really do wanna give me the dragon ball." He offered with a slight smile. "I mean, we could do it that way." The differences between the two Namekians could be inferred from their differing expressions. While Polik seemed to be growing angrier and angrier with the uppity human, Narenka seemed to be amused, hiding a small smile at Gosai's antics. "Polik, please. We'll listen to the young man's story at least before deciding what to do with him, hm?" The elder green man suggested, although in a way that showed it was going to happen one way or another. "...As you wish, Elder Narenka." Polik grumbled, folding his arms over his chest. (Word Count: 381 Total Word Count: 731) |

It was obvious Polik didn't care for what his elder was suggesting, but he had little choice in the matter. For now at least. "What if he attempts to steal the dragon ball?" The beefy warrior whispered. The sound was far to faint for Gosai to pick up, but the sensitive hearing of even the aged Narenka heard it easily enough. "Then you will stop him." The old namekian responded, equally quiet. Once again, it seemed he had given the last word on the situation before exiting the small hut, his.... protege? Subordinate? in tow. Gosai remained on the floor several moments longer, pondering the situation in which he currently found himself. They knew what he wanted. What he wanted was sacred. He wasn't being savagely beaten. Now, he wasn't complaining about that last part. In fact, he was rather grateful for it. It seemed most of his adventures ended with him giving or receiving a savage beating anymore. "Maybe I can negotiate this time?" He suggested aloud, standing up to dust his pants off. "It would be nice not to have to throw a punch, just once." That not so silent prayer uttered, the human finally exited the hut to examine the village he'd found himself in. It was small, even by the standards of the Namekian people, consisting of little more than a dozen huts clustered together. In the distance a few acres of farmland was visible, with a small fire-pit in the center of the village. "What is this place?" He murmured to himself. "A training center." Polik answered, apparently Gosai hadn't been talking as much to himself as he believed. "Ishnuk village is meant to train the next generation of Namekian warriors. Those who will protect lord Guru and the dragon balls from greedy outsiders." "Like me?" Gosai queried sarcastically. "You're catching on." Polik declared with a smirk. "We're not going to get along, are we?" "No. No we aren't." Gosai groaned, departing from Polik and seeking out the elder Namekian wondering how to broach the subject of the dragon ball. "Tell me about this 'mistake' of yours." Narenka spoke up after what felt like hours of silence between the two. "What is it you're trying to undo my friend?" Gosai paused. Sure, he knew he'd eventually be asked but it didn't mean he wanted to talk about it. But, there really wasn't much choice if he wanted the dragon ball. It was this namekian's toy and thus the human would have to play the game by his rules. "I lead a... I guess they're called 'changelings' by most species. I lead one of them to this planet. Or... he was already here and I just drew his attention. I don't even know anymore." The human admitted miserably. "Leading someone to a new world isn't in and of itself a problem." Narenka pointed out, his gaze fixed towards the horizon, not turning to observe Gosai. "Please, there is no need to worry about how I will take the news. If your quest is noble, I shall see no reason to prevent you from using the dragon balls. If it is not..." "Polik?" Gosai murmured. "Polik." Narenka agreed. The human fighter groaned after a moment, realizing he really didn't have any other choice. "I fought him. We... we fought him. Myself and my friends. They came to this planet with me. They trusted me." He mumbled. "And all I did was get them killed by a monster." Narenka was silent several moments longer, the light of Namek's triple suns shining down bright and hot upon them. "So, you wish to ask Porunga to turn back the veil of death." It was a statement, not a question. Figuring 'Porunga' was whatever force the Dragon Balls would summon, he nodded. "I want my friends back. My grandfather back. I need to apologize to them, to make up for getting them killed." "Upsetting the balance of life and death is not a task to be taken lightly. There is no telling what could be unleashed were you to attempt it." The aged namekian warned. "Is this journey truly that important to you?" "It is. I need to do this!" The human shouted, passion filling his voice. Narenka was silent once again, looking down at the grass finally. "I will say this, young man." He spoke softly. Slowly. "I can sympathize with your desire, and while not corrupt it is also hardly noble to wish them back because of your own problems. I must... leave the outcome to fate." There was a sinking feeling in the pit of the human's stomach. "I'm not going to have to-" "Prove yourself against Polik, and the dragon ball shall be yours."
