"Only two more," Junior thought as he tore throughout the green Namekian sky. He was flying at maximum capacity and leaving a long, flaming vapor trail in his wake, that extended for miles behind him. It was important that he hurried because the darkness, that he was instructed to defeat, was almost powered up fully and the Saiyan knew it's ruthless strike was imminent. He could feel it. Goku whipped out the dragon radar and gave it a click. "Blip," it sounded as the screen zoomed in. It was indicating that he was only a few clicks away from it. And, since he was told that the sixth ball could be found at another village, he put the locator away and pressed onward. Before long, Junior could see something on the horizon. It was smoke, and pretty big cloud of it at that. The boy, still traveling full-throttle, reached the smoldering cloud in only a second or two, but was surprised at the cause of the smoke. Junior slowly descended to the predestined village and landed softly in the midst of a crowed group of frantic Namekians. "The village," cried one of them that was holding his bald head. "How could they turn on us like that," screamed another. There were shouts similar to that, all throughout the gathering, and all were filled with anger and sadness. The little Halfling didn't really know what to say at first. He was stunned and stricken by the atrociousness of the situation. He was aware that someone, or something did the damage, but he couldn't figure out why, and for what. Then he heard something that caught his big ear. "Hey," shouted a young, breathless voice that darted toward the crowd from out of the smoking, wrecked village. "The dragonball," he managed to yell again before finally reaching a couple of the elder's that were standing at the front of the crowd. Three older Namkians approached the green boy and slowed him down. "Whoa! Hold on there son," said one of them that was dressed in a black robe, "catch your breath. What is the matter?" "The dragonball, Elder," said the worked up Namkian boy as he held his bent over position, "it's gone!" "Gone," exclaimed another one of the Elders. Then, pushing his way to the front of the crowd, Goku Junior sounded another similar question, "Gone? What do you mean," he said stopping just feet from the child. At that moment, everyone of the surrounding Namekians stopped and stared. "And who are you," asked the old man in the robe, his eyebrow raised in confusion. WC: 434 |

"My name is Goku..... Goku Junior," said the young Saiyan with a proud countenance about him. He was sure that they would recognize the name at least once they heard it. Surely the great Master Guru would have mentioned to them his name. But nay, this was not the case, as usual. "Who," replied the old man with a great deal of wonder. Junior instantly sank as did his pride at that moment. It was not at all the reply that he was hoping for, or even expecting for that matter. "And another thing," interjected a taller, and not so shriveled Elder, "what is your concern for the dragonball boy?" "Yeah," spat the third, "are you another one of those bandits?" Goku didn't know what to say. He was bombarded by all of the intense questioning at once and did nothing but stumble backwards and babble like an idiot. "Bah bah BLah bugh," he mumbled. Just then, a young Namekian boy, from the gathered crowd, ran forward yelling, "wait Elder! Wait!" "Yes," answered all three of the wise Elders. "I know this boy," said the child as he stopped. "This boy is not with those men. He is a hero, and strong too. He is here to save our planet and is on a special mission for Guru. He has permission to collect them all." After the child spat forth the mouthful, everyone was stunned for a second, even Goku Junior. He couldn't have said it better himself. Then, the tiny warrior, after taking in the whole situation, burst out in an uncontrollable laughter. Soon, everyone joined in on the hillarity and everything was fine. The grumpy elder's were quick to offer an apology, but young Saiyan simply chuckled and thanked them back. Eventually night came, and the high spirited Namekians decided to make camp around there shattered town. Tomorrow they would have to start rebuilding on there peaceful little nook, but tonight, tonight they would party. They would celebrate the rebirth of their village. A new day! Goku was after to stay the night and did so. Besides, they offered to catch him some food and cook it for him too. That and a warm bed was all it took to hook the young warriot. Tomorrow he would set off and track down those bandits. Tonight he would get full and sleep. Ah! WC: 394 |

The next morning, Goku-san Junior arose earlier. It was about the time the sun was peaking over the southern mountain range, and since he was on planet Namek, that was the usual spot of the first sun’s arrival. Last night was a strange night, not just because there was actually darkness, but also because it was the first time any of the native people had ever experienced the sensation. Something happened yesterday that completely darkened the second sun, Seta. Normally, the Seta Sun would rise just as the first, Mika, would set. Both of the two sun’s were equal in size, but Seta seemed to burn a little hotter and brighter than Mika. Now, even with Mika burning bright, things still seemed a bit darker all around. Regardless, the native Nameks didn’t seemed to be phased by the night time. In fact, they actually seemed to enjoy it. They built several small fire’s around their camp sites and danced, and sang, and drank, and smoked late into the night. It seemed primitive and basic--like they were getting in touch with their roots. Or, maybe they were simply partying it up before the end was nigh. Goku couldn’t tell. He knew that they all could feel something coming, but did they know what? So, back to the morning. Goku was awake early, but not earlier than the three old, wise Elder’s. They were all huddled together, on their knees, and praying to the south, toward the rising Mika Sun. Junior slowly approached them from behind, and was about to let his presence be known by a cough or clearing of the throat, but before he could speak the shortest, oldest, and most shriveled of the three spoke up. “Ah, young Goku-son,” he said, in a calm enlightened tone. The tiny Hybrid warrior stopped with a bit of surprise about him, “ah…. Yes sir?” “I see you are up early,” said the old man. “Yes. I intend on finding the dragon ball and those rude thieves, both before breakfast,” replied the child in a confident tone. WC: 344 |

“That’s mighty brave of you my boy,” said the wrinkled Elder with a smile, “but do you know how to find them, or do you even know what they look like? Goku Junior frowned a bit and scratched his spiky hair, “umm, I certainly don’t know what they look like, but if they have the dragon ball, like you say, then I should be able to find them with my dragon radar.” The Halfling boy coolly whipped out the circular locator and showed it to the three. “Here it is,” he said with a smile. The simple Namekians all marveled at the mysterious device as they looked upon it. They’d never seen such a strange contraption and quite frankly had no need for such a thing as a dragon ball radar. They were bent on protecting the sacred balls, not hunting them down and using them. “Well, my friend, I see that you a thoroughly capable of handling this task,” add the mid-height wise man with a low baritone voice. “Mmhm,” replied the Saiyan child. “And I should probably be off now.” The three old and wise aliens all smiled and nodded at the boy. And, each one of them gave a farewell and salute of their own as the boy took to the skies. Goku waved back slowly as he ascended to the yellowish clouds. As he rose he fixed his eyes on the radar screen and memorized the location. “Good,” he said, rocketing off toward the southern mountains, “they’re close. I should be there in just a minute.” A few minutes later….. Goku arrived at the Southern Mountain range and landed at the base of the towering gargantuan. Just in front of where he landed was a dark, rounded cave entrance. It was in all likely-hood that, if the bandits were indeed bandits, then they would most likely be hiding in a place such as a cave. Junior gave a quick scoff and a smirk and then proceed to the entrance. “Hello,” he called, with both hands cupped around the sides of his stretched-open mouth, “anyone home!” The tiny Hybrid chuckled and then bent over to pick up a stick. He knew that no one was going to call back, but he had to do it. He then held the stick out in front of him and, with his free hand, he shot a small burst of ki that struck the stick a set it a blaze. Immediately the tunnel like passage lit up and revealed Goku’s path. “That’s better,” muttered the Earth-born Saiyan and he delved further into the cave. WC: 433 |

With his newly acquired torch, Goku continued down the rocky and slimy and shadowy path. All that he could hear was the gentle squeaks and chirps of various rats and insects that most likely inhabited the dark space, and the rough steps of his own weighted boots against the jagged and rough and rocky ground. He could hear his heart beating and the steady rhythmic pace of his breathing. But then he heard something different. It sounded like laughter, and laughter from several different people. Like the laugh of a group of small snotty, snickering children. Or, perhaps it was that of sneaky, treacherous girls. Either way it was close, and he was bound to find out soon enough. Goku levitated just off of the path, but not too high lest he bump his big head on the moist stalactites. He didn’t want his presence to be known, not yet anyway. He needed to find out more information on this group of ‘bandits’ first. So, proceeding onward, he wearily hovered down the arched pathway until he came to a small, yet opened up nook that was centered with a steady burning fire. Ducking behind a short rise of stalagmites, Junior continued to conceal his presence. If he was lucky, they wouldn’t be able to detect his ki and he would be able to hide there for a moment to asses the situation. It seemed he was safe, and with that air of confidence about him, Goku peaked over the cone shaped protrusion’s and looked on at the still giggling group. They were girls! All three of them! And, they were pretty too. Junior ducked back down behind the cover of cave rocks and paused for a moment. They were not the bandits that he was looking for. A small group of reckless children, maybe, but not three pretty, teenage girls. He had to take another look, perhaps his eyes were deceiving him. Creeping up slowly just a bit, he peaked his spiky head over and assured himself of their appearance. “They are girls,” he muttered softly under his breath as he continued to look on. Goku quickly rolled from his perched position to another similar formation of cover. “I was told that I’m not supposed to be mean to girls,” he said as he looked on at them again. “Those stupid Namekians didn’t know what hit them,” boasted one of the thieves as she raised her foot and placed it upon a square wooden box--captain Morgan style. “Yeah, those green beans actually thought we were actually gonna help them farm. What bozo’s,” comment another, that sported a long, green hair-do. The third, and obvious leader of the trio then spoke up. “Quiet you two,” she said in a snarled, but sweet tone, “I’m trying to think over here. I still can’t figure out what this orange ball is.” Saying that, she pulled out a large orange orb, that she was caressing by her side, and held it out on display. The fire, that was still burning just as steady as before, seemed to light up the light up the magical ball and cause it to shine even more brilliantly that it normally did. It was definitely a sight to behold. WC: 540 |

“The dragon ball,” exclaimed Goku Junior inside his head. It was almost too much to keep from bursting out loud with the comment, but he was able to manage. Then one of the bandits spoke up again, “it sure is a pretty thang. You found a real beauty this time Shelly.” “Yeah, I suppose I did,” replied the leader of the outfit as she gazed even deeper into the mystical ball. “How much zeni do you think it will fetch us? Ten-Thousand? Twenty?” “Maybe even more than that,” interjected the third and shortest of the trio. “Well, we’ll find out tomorrow won’t we Cleo,” Shelly said with a sneaky smile as she looked on at her short partner. She then tucked the ball safely away in a leather bag and drew closer to the fire. By that time, Junior had already moved from his hiding spot yet again, and was now only a dozen feet or so away from the girls. He was surprise that he had gone so far without getting caught yet, it was a skill that he had definitely been practicing a lot lately. And, since he still didn’t have a formidable plan at the moment added to the surprise. What was he going to do though? Sure, he could easily jump out and beat the ever-living daylights out of them, but he was always taught never to hit girls. He could try asking them, but he highly doubted the probability of that scenario. Suddenly, the stalagmite, that Goku Junior was leaning up against, gave way and toppled over toward the bandit’s camp with the young Halfling following suit. Junior rolled out past the peak of the cave structure and his stumbling travel stopped him just inches from one of the thieves. All three of the girls instantly jumped up and took arms--guns being their choice of weapons. WC: 311 |

Goku sat where he was for a moment and looked at the girls with a half innocent, half dopey smile. “Hiya,” he said with a childish chuckle to follow. A drop of sweat rolled down his brow as he stared down the barrels of the loaded pistols and slowly, with his arms raised, he stood to his feet, but kept his cheerful grin that spilt his round face in two. “Who the heck are you,” demanded Shelly. She then drew in closer to the Saiyan boy and nudged him briskly on the shoulder with one of her guns. “My name is Goku,” replied the youngster accordingly. A snarl escaped from Cleo that showed her annoyance, “eh, okay! But, what in god’s name are you doing here kid? And why are you sneaking around?” Goku was aiming to tell a fib--something that would further disguise his real purposes for his intrusion, but when he opened his lips nothing but the truth came out. It must’ve been his pure heart that took over. “I’m here for the dragon ball,” he said with a frown as he scrubbed in foot into the ground, “I’m on a mission and I need it to succeed. Plus you guys really should go back and help the villager’s rebuild there town. It would only be right.” “Dragonball,” question the unnamed bandit--she was tall and skinny and looked like Olive Oil from Popeye. “Yeah, the dragon ball,” replied Goku, “it’s the shiny orange ball that you guys stole. I need it.” “Oh yeah? So it’s called a dragon ball huh? Well, no way! It’s mine.” Shelly was snotty and rude with her deliverance and with a final snarl, at the close of her comment, she turned and snatched up the leather satchel that held the said ball. “As for those puny villagers,” she continued, “they can all go suck on some eggs for all I care!” With that, she flung the strap of the bag over her shoulder and turned to her companions. “Let’s get out of here,” she said, turning towards the exit and then walking. She gave the Saiyan boy Goku one last look and one last point with her gun and said, “and if you try anything funny, then me and my banditos here will blow you to smithereens! Got it? Good!” WC: 387 |

Only one word could describe how the young Saiyan warrior felt at that moment: ‘Wow’. He had heard stories of how nasty and mean girls were, but never before had he the chance to experience it first hand for himself. Now he knew the fury that was so fully described to him by countless souls. Junior followed the haughty trio as they trudged out of sight. He only had one option that seemed fair enough to follow through with. He had to stoop to their level. He was going to steal it--it being the dragon ball of course. As sneakily as he entered the cave, Goku quietly crept back out the way he entered, floating. Along the way, the young hero passed back across the torch that he dropped long ago and picked it back up. It was still lit and would serve it’s purpose until he was out of the dark, damp, cold cave. And, when he was able to see light at the mouth of the tunnel, Junior discarded the blazing stick and exited. It was bright when he came out of the lightless crevice which made it extremely difficult to see. After a short moment or two the young fighter’s vision returned, but the fleeing bandits were no where to be found. That didn’t mean that he couldn’t find them though. Taking to the green skies, Goku rose above the mountain top and greatly expanded his field of vision. It was then that the little Hybrid spotted a space ship and not long after that he spotted three figures running toward the craft. “You’re not gonna get away that easily,” Goku exclaimed as he flared up his ki and screamed down to the ground. The fast flying Halfling blazed into the scene and tore by the trio of bandits. On his pass he snatched the brown satchel right off of the leader’s shoulder and continued tearing onward. The little hero completed a full loop then doubled back to the girl’s ship. With one swift chop, Goku tore through the wing of the plane and landed just outside of where the broken piece crashed. “What the,” exclaimed Cleo as she was stopped in her tracks along with her two pals “That’s my ship,” added Shelly in a furious tone. Goku gave three clicks with his mouth and waved his finger back and forth at the girls, “I don’t think that you rotten girls are going anywhere today. Not since your ship is busted anyway.” “You little punk! How do you expect us to get our ship fixed, or get off of this crappy planet for that matter,” asked the leader in a highly aggravated tone. Goku smiled and stood with his arms coolly crossed, “I don’t know about all of that, but if I were you guys, I would start by helping those Namekians rebuild their village. Then after that, maybe they can help you fix your ship. Either way it’s up to you.” Taking to the skies once again, Goku gave a final wave and started off on his next mission. “By the way,” he screamed as he disappeared in a cluster of yellow clouds, “thanks for the dragon ball!” “What,” Shelly said as she looked to her shoulder. “The dragon ball! That little creep stole it right from under my nose!” WC: 555 TWC: 3,398 |
