On Kame Island, far from civilisation lived Master Roshi. An experienced Martial Artist who had taught many of the Earth's best fighters. Broli, was a Saiyan warrior fairly new to the planet Earth. He had reccently completed the Oldman's trial and was hoping for a little rest and relaxation. However, Master Roshi did not seem himself as of late. It was rare to see Master Roshi with a worried expression for the turtle hermit always seemed so care free. These days however the old master had fallen into a strange combination of zen and apathy. So long separated was he from the outside world that beyond his usual 'programs' and the Tenkaichi Budokai series he had displayed little interest in society and the people within it. This had obviously scared, many of the hermits students. Broli's, included and this had been many of there first hint that something bad was going to happen and very soon. The next hint was a little more difficult to notice. Whilst watching the former 'Invincible Old Master' shuffle about Kame House he seemed to pause occasionally as though he was in a trance, occasionally moving more frantically while trying to determine his own next course of action. Finally however the aged martial artist spoke up, his voice holding a commanding tone he rarely utilized. "I hope you've been paying attention to your training so far, Broli, because it's time to put it to the test." Broli turned sharply towards the Old Master. The Saiyan man blinked, looking at his teacher. "Err...how were you thinking of doing that? Do you want me to battle someone" he asked. Rubbing his hands together greedily. The master's brow furrowed before he spoke again, trying to get his point across to his young apprentice. "Are you really unaware? Can you not feel it?..." Roshi asked, “feel what?” he answered. The old man was reaching out with his senses again, feeling the dark corrupted ki signature in the distance. As Broli expression changed, with a puzzled look. “There, is a massive power level in the distance we are going to stop it” Roshi answered, clearly angered by his students lack of the ability to sense Ki signatures. Broli sniggered, arrogantly "haha, is this what's been creeping you out for so long?" he murmured. The aged man nodded. “You, would be best to not underestimate your opponent” Roshi replied, with a saddened expression upon his face, *stupid Saiyan's and there ego's* he thought. ---------------------------- WC - 415 |

The journey wasn't an arduous one but it was very long. Whatever the source of this ki that seemed to have the legendary, Master Roshi on edge was it was far into the mainland. Broli had never seen this side of Master Roshi who had rarely seemed to be a very active individual in his old age, but here he was leading the charge against 'something'. The aged master was easily outpacing his pupil. Broli, who was clearly flying at his full speed and perhaps even faster then that. But he was no match for the speed of Master Roshi, It was a strange situation all around. The generally lackadaisical martial arts expert was more active at the moment then Broli had ever seen him when the two of them would 'spar' each other. Whatever this threat was, it seemed to have returned him to the fires of youth. And, it was clear that whatever it was he really wanted it to be destroyed. "Oi! Master Roshi" Broli finally puffed out as he caught up, to the invincible old master. "As much fun as it is trying to keep pace with you, do you think you could tell me what we're dealing with?" He demanded as the wind was rushing around them during their flight. The Turtle Hermit Turned his head back towards the Saiyan warrior, the sunlight glinting off of the dark frames of his sunglasses, the older man nodded swiftly. "I suppose you'd need to know eventually...anyway...this story...it starts many many years ago. Well, even before even my own time infact. The world was in peril,-” Roshi Stated. Broli cackled in laughter “what a surprise” he muttered. Earning, himself a clout upon the head. “Anyway, it was being ravaged by a powerful demon...a monster that was known as 'Onikin' his power destroyed entire cities. An untold numbers died before him. He very nearly brought the world to heel underneath him." Roshi stated, with a pause no doubt added for drama. "I...really?" Broli asked with a blink. Stroking the back of his head. It did sound like something out of a story. "What happened? To this Onikin" he asked, bluntly. Roshi nodded again, his focus unimpeded by the speed at which he was moving. "I was getting there, Just as times were looking there darkest. A hero stood up, as they generally do in times of crisis...this hero was a venerable warrior monk by the name of Kanus. Since the start of the rampage he had been preparing...training himself to master his mind, body, and spirit. With the chaos at it's peak, he knew he could spend no more time in preparation. And thus, hero and monster met in battle for the first time. It was a vicious fight between the hope of the world and the beast that would have sent mankind to it's grave. In the end, Onikin was victorious. But, honourably Kanus performed a very rare known Kamekaze attack. Basically, he gathered his ki within himself and sucked the monster into himself, transforming into a jar that contained the evil monster" Roshi added. "...And someone found the jar?" Broli queried, trying to make certain he fully understood the situation. "Either that, or the seal holding Onikin back has worn away and degraded...allowing the monster to escape it's prison once more...either way...we are likely the only ones who can stop him." Roshi concluded the story. --------------------- WC - 570 TWC - 985 |

Well, this just keeps getting better and better. Broli found himself thinking with a wide smirk on his face. They had only just reached the outskirts of the city that Master Roshi had been sensing Onikin's ki emanating from. All that surrounded the duo of martial artists was ruins. Buildings had been smashed through, vehicles overturned...if that had been all that assaulted their sight it might have been somewhat more tolerable, but the corpses that littered the streets, many lying on their faces, killed while trying to flee the monster that had assaulted their city made the whole situation more terrible. Master Roshi remained silent as he stepped further into the city, reaching out with his senses again, searching for survivors. Any kind of life. It was not to be however. The whole city was deserted, an untold number of them dead the survivors likely had run as far and as fast as they could...while Onikin had simply moved on, looking for his next target of destruction. "This," the aged master spoke, an edge to his voice Broli had never heard before. "is disgusting. What kind of a creature would do such a thing? We WILL find Onikin...and he will be eliminated or it will mean the end of the human race." The words were firm, leaving no question as to the master's course of action, though Broli merely nodded he had no interest in protecting these weaklings he simply wanted to test his might against this monster. The two were silent after that, for Master Roshi was stretching out with his mind, seeking the corrupted, tainted ki of the monster. It had moved quickly however and was far off again. Although the faint twitches in the ki around him made it obvious why Onikin was holding still again. A beast of destruction, of course it would only halt to cause even more pain, even more suffering. The next move was unspoken as both martial artists took off, flying at full speed towards the source of this power. While Master Roshi displayed only a firm resolve, Broli wondered somewhere in the back of his mind if just the two of them could really stop something this powerful. In less than a day it had wiped out an entire city. What was his greatest evil achievement beating a few weaklings on this planet and being thrashed by a member of his own alliance. Broli shook his head to clear away those thoughts. This was no time for doubt. He needed to be resolved. To be firm and focused. If they could catch the beast now there was no telling how much of a challenge this legendary monster may be to him. On the other hand, if they missed him again where might he end up next? How many people could he kill before they arrived? The landscape was rushing by them in a blur, the speed of the martial artist duo was intense enough to keep Broli from noticing any particular features of the trip. They quickly passed from civilization to rolling plains then back onto a road, approaching another city...the one thing to be happy for, Onikin's ki hadn't changed position significantly. But was that really a good thing? ------------------------ WC - 539 TWC - 1524 |

Good or bad, it was the situation that Broli and the aged Master found themselves in. The monster called Onikin was still within the city. It was humanoid only in the vaguest of terms it stood nearly eight feet tall with spiderlike legs, three toed talons extending from each one and spikes descending its back barely visible through the creatures dark black fur. Onikin's torso was somewhere between human and animal, with a sheen of fur covering it finally ending with his face. A reptilian snout curled into something resembling a smile, hawkish hunter's eyes scanned the city, seeking out the next of his prey with ears protected from deer-like antlers extending from the top of his head. It seemed as though the monster had yet to realize that Broli and Master Roshi were there. Taking the apparent opening, Broli leapt up screaming loudly fist drawn as he rushed the demon, drawing back his arm and throwing out a punch at its back. The burst of ki from his closed fist would have been devastating. If it had actually connected. Far more aware of his surroundings than Broli had believed him for, the bizarre demon leaped straight into the air, avoiding the young man's punch entirely. As he came down however, Onikin slashed with his left foot, raking the talons across Broli's back as he cried out in pain, then fell painfully towards the floor. "Hmm, you're the first to try and fight me since my awakening." Onikin commented, his voice holding a higher timbre than one might have expected from a 'terrifying demon'. However, another voice was heard echoing across the seemingly abandoned area of the city. The cracked voice of Master Roshi. "He also won't be the last!" The former Invincible Old Master shouted, leaping from the top of an abandoned car and hurling that same car like a javelin at Onikin's head. As the demon once again jumped into the air, the likewise airborne Master Roshi intercepted him. As the combatants descended from the sky they continued trading blows at a furious pace, neither one quite gaining ground against the other however. Still, to the sole observer of this battle it was impressive. Master Roshi was digging deep into his skill set as one of the most experienced warriors the planet had to offer. Not one to let the opportunity slip by, Broli was quick to join the assault from behind. The result was a short but enjoyably satisfying beating with Onikin on the receiving end of it. This state of affairs wouldn't last however as the demon grew annoyed. With a grunt and a wave of his arms a small outburst of ki greeted Roshi and Broli, knocking the two across the broken asphalt of the street. "I must congratulate you." Onikin told them with a low growl. "The last time I was free I was treated to warriors this potent only once in a great while. To have you show up so early in my campaign...Mmm, it really gets the juices flowing. It makes me feel...alive again. Too bad you wont be knowing that feeling soon enough." ------------------ WC - 522 TWC - 2046 |

Broli gritted his teeth as he struggled to get to his feet. His body was young and resilient after all, not to mention he was pretty good when it came to enduring attacks. Thanks, to Chill of course. With that in his corner, he had managed to get to his feet even before the Turtle hermit had arisen. Unfortunately, just because he was on his feet didn't mean he was able to fight, blood from the cuts on his back was leaking upon the floor. And, each second seemed more and more painful. He knew that he could of probably dealt with on his own if he had not been so arrogant and darted in head first. The martial artist gagged as Onikin's fist lodged into his stomach, sending the young man falling to his knees again as he gasped for air. He had imagined this fight going much differently when he and Roshi had double teamed the demon. "Did you really think you could have stopped me though?" Onikin demanded, walking in a slow circle along the coughing warrior, finally he placed his foot on top of Broli's back before dragging it back quickly, tearing through his skin and cutting nicely into his back. "Go on, scream. Your pain is like a symphony to me." He cackled. Perhaps however, if Onikin had been paying a little less attention to this 'symphony' he would have heard the noise from where the old master had fallen. The ancient martial artist had indeed picked himself off of the ground and had assumed a stance familiar to students of the Turtle School. "Kaaa," Roshi began, drawing his power out. "meeee....haaaa...meeee...HA!" With that simple mantra, the aged human unleashed a wave of ki at his foe. A blast that could have demolished a mountain collided with Onikin, leaving the stunned Broli in awe at the sight of this blast. For the first time since he had been training with him, the invincible master was showing why he had been known as that title. However, the younger warrior's shock and elation were short lived once the explosion ended and the dust had settled, standing where he had been moments before was Onikin, now looking thoroughly angered. "You...actually hurt me." He stated in surprise. Indeed, the entirety of his right forearm, which he had apparently been using to block the Kamehameha Wave technique was heavily burned by the energies unleashed. From elbow to fingertips his arm was smoking and charred, the simple act of moving his fingers seemed to bring even more flashes of pain to the demon. "...I guess now killing you would be justified. But not yet...no. I'll see you soon enough. Once I've had more time to recover." The demon cackled again, taking off down the streets at a sprint. Master Roshi looked forlornly at his chance to end the demon, then over at his injured student. With a sigh, he knelt down with Broli, checking his injuries. "Come on Saiyan...you can deal with this." He encouraged him. Roshi didn't want to admit it, but the Kamehameha had been tiring for him as well. He would need help to defeat Onikin. They had simply got lucky that the beast had been frightened off by that awe inspiring display of power by Master Roshi. ---------------------- WC - 550 TWC - 2596 |

"what are you doing we can't let him escape." Broli mumbled. Leaping to his feet and looking towards Master Roshi. He clutched his back in pain that seemed to be turning into the theme of his life. After his bouts with Chill, the fallen Tyrant. A skilled warrior who had obliterated him easily. It had fallen somewhere in the category of a catastrophe and a murder. Now he was just manhandled by a demon who looked like the love child of a chicken and a chimpanzee. To be perfectly honest, it was starting to shake the warrior's confidence. A fact he was doing his best to keep from Master Roshi. The aged martial artist simply shook his head in response to Broli's claims. "No. You did as well as anyone can expect, and much better than most." He assured the young man while dressing his wounds. "I let Onikin get away." "I could have followed him." Roshi reminded him. "You wouldn't have needed to choose if I'd been stronger." Broli answered swiftly. "Believe it however you want, but neither of us is going to be able to stop Onikin alone it would seem. We need to catch up with him before he has a chance to recover fully..." Master Roshi mumbled. He knew the problem though. While he could likely recover from his expenditure of ki before they arrived at the battle, Broli had physical wounds to recover from. Which meant he would require a period of healing. "We should go out after it." Broli asserted at last, rising to his feet. The red of his blood was still seeping into the bandages wrapped about his torso. "And your injuries?" Roshi inquired of his pupil, leaning on his staff as he observed Gosai. "Don't even itch." The younger martial artist declared confidently, placing his hands on his hips. "Mmhm?" Roshi queried, prodding one of Broli's injuries with his staff, eliciting a yelp of pain from him. "Oh...kay. I may have been exaggerating....but my point still stands!" Broli asserted. "We need to catch Onikin before he can cause any more damage. We don't have time to be waiting like this." "...And you're sure you're able to fight?" The old master asked with a sigh. "Of course I can fight. They're just flesh wounds. Just annoyances. Really." Broli told him, nodding emphatically. "...Very well then," Roshi finally acceded. "let's get moving." ---------------------------- WC -399 TWC - 2995 |

The pace of Master and Pupil was much slowed this time. Although Broli wasn't as badly injured as he could have been from that demon he was still hurt. Roshi likewise had expended a large amount of his ki attacking Onikin with the Kamehameha wave before the demon had retreated. The duo needed a plan if they were to defeat the monster. And with the creature still hidden from their senses it seemed like as good a time as any to converse. "Mmm, he said something about 'recovering'. He might not be at his full strength yet." Roshi mused to his pupil as they walked. "Geez. If that's him weakened...then what would he be like at full power? Maybe we should let him heal up for an even more challenging fight" Broli muttered, once again rubbing his hands together greedily. "A far more terrible opponent. However, we may be able to stop him...I think I have an idea of where he might be heading." Roshi's tone was set, his memory, extending back centuries and his knowledge of the legends of Earth extending back further still was serving the aged master well. "Well? Are you going to tell me this Idea?" Broli shouted, his attention fully on Master Roshi now. "Spit it out! already" "I told you, Kanus was a warrior monk. Onikin will want to insure another 'Kanus' cannot rise up to stop him. He's going to travel to the location of the monastery...and slaughter all of the monks present." Broli gulped at that. But, it did have one benefit for them. It meant that the two would have allies to fight. An entire monastery of warrior monks ready to engage Onikin at their side. "Th-then let's get moving!" He shouted, dashing off ahead before pausing. "...You have no idea where it is, do you?" Master Roshi sighed, shaking his head. "...No. No I don't." He admitted. "Lead the way?" He suggested. Roshi nodded, taking the lead once again. The old man had recovered enough of his strength to take the trip at a light run. Of course, Roshi's 'light run' could have had him moving alongside some hovercars at this point. Broli, having little he could say about the pace did his best to keep up. --------------------- WC - 378 TWC - 3373 Post 7 of 15 |

By the time Broli and Master Roshi had arrived at the monastery where Kanos was from it was dusk already, the sun was setting in the distance over the horizon. The two had been in almost continuous action since the early afternoon. All of the activity was just beginning to take it's toll on the duo as they stumbled into the elegant wooden temple. Almost immediately they were met by an aged monk, approaching them with concern etched on his ancient features. "My children, what has happened to you?" He asked, leading the two further into the structure of the temple proper. The courtyard was littered with monks, young and old, performing a variety of activities, from meditation to sparring. Reaching out with his senses, Broli could feel that the gathered monks were strong, but few were in the same league as himself or Kame Sen'nin. While Broli had been zoning out, thinking of their odds of victory, Roshi was busy talking with the monk who had greeted them. His prayer beads and other accessories set him apart as the abbot of the temple. Given the age of this legend, Broli had expected the man to think Master Roshi senile, to believe the two of them crazy, or hucksters. Instead his face drained of color and he began shouting to the other monks. The response time was impressive alone. Each of them ending what they were doing and rushing into the temple complex, calling out for the other monks. Some came out with wood, or statues, or even weapons. It seemed they were preparing to defend this complex with their lives. While this flurry of activity was going on, Broli and Master Roshi were shown into the temple as well where they were met by the temple's doctors. The work was hurried, attempts of all sorts were being made to get the two in fighting shape for the battle to come. This...was only the calm before the storm. The hours passed in tense quietude. The sun fell completely over the horizon while the monks had assembled in their entirety in the courtyard. Looking around, Broli thought there were at least a hundred of them. The young martial artist felt his master may have been wrong in bringing them to defend this temple complex. However, Roshi's intuition was soon proven correct as the tarnished, dirty ki signature appeared on the edge of their awareness. It was approaching quickly. Taking a deep breath, Broli ripped off his bandages place on his body by Master Roshi and assumed an aggressive fighting stance, preparing to attack Onikin the moment he broke through the walls. He didn't have long to wait as the wooden walls that surrounded the courtyard began to crack along a single point before shattering entirely. The ancient wood splintering as the beast walked onto the lands of the temple. With a loud kiai, Broli hurled himself at Onikin. "Remember me!?" He shouted, in a taunting tone. Throwing his first punch at the demon's head. The two locked into a battle as Onikin kicked at his ribs with the young Saiyan warrior swinging his forearm down to block it his own knee driving up into Onikin's stomach. As the monster doubled over, Broli grabbed his horns and attempted to throw him. Onikin however had other plans entirely as he began pushing against Broli's strength. He was going to gore him. However, a monk wielding a naginata swung his weapon down, cutting a shallow gash into Onikin's arm before he swung around, hitting him with the blunt staff-like body of the weapon. The impact landed firmly on Onikin's neck, although the demon seemed to barely notice any of it. -------------------------- WC - 616 TWC - 3989 |

With only a small exertion of his strength, Onikin had easily lifted Broli off of the ground with his horns. And with a quick turn of his neck threw the young martial artist into the monk that had been attacking him with a 'thud' the two landed on the ground in a heap. His work with those two finished, the demon advanced further on the monks. A few of the braver of their number attempting to engage him as a group. A tall muscular monk seemed to be leading them. His opening strikes were fast, forceful. Against a human adversary he would have been able to end the fight quickly and effectively. But his opponent was no human. Onikin shrugged off the blows with ease, he then grabbed the monk around his head, squeezing his hand together slowly. "Can you feel it? The pain of your skull cracking." Enshu asked with a malicious smile. "Let him go!" Master Roshi shouted, taking to the air, his first attack was a forceful kick against the side of Onikin's head, loosening the monster's grip on the powerful monk enough that he was able to escape. "Oh, it's you I remember fighting with you before” Onikin muttered, softly for the terrifying demon. “You seem in such a hurry to die old man. Could it be you feel you've lived to long?" Onikin growled, lashing out at Roshi with his fists. The old master may have been overpowered by Onikin, but centuries of martial arts mastery were evident as he knocked Onikin's first punch to the side with his staff before driving a kick into his stomach, using the monster's own body as a springboard he jumped backwards, out of his reach, and swung his staff into the side of Onikin's head painfully, eliciting a roar of anger from the beast. "I guess the legends exaggerated your strength a bit, hm?" Roshi taunted, assuming his customary stance. "Old man, I'll end you!" Onikin roared, preparing to lash out again, only to be interrupted by an almost literal dogpile of monks, lead by Broli this time, assaulting him. The punches and kicks, and even stabs and blunt assaults from the monks were largely ignored as he primarily defended himself from Gosai's assault. Fast and furious, he was attempting to force the beast onto the defensive...it would be a battle of stamina between the two of them. With a growl, Enshu kicked out with his taloned foot again, slashing Broli's arm with the claws and slowing the other warrior's advance. With Boli halted in his advance. Onikin lashed out once more, making short work of the monks...until Broli and Kame Sen'nin both struck him from behind, sending the demon flying and colliding with a stone statue of Buddha. Roaring in anger and perhaps a little pain by this point, he punched through the statue, reducing it to rubble. “No,” the monk's cried out. No doubt giving an idea to the crazed demon. Thinking fast to protect the defenceless statues Roshi shouted over "Huh, I guess statues are all you can fight?" he taunted. Continuing to smile "No? Then why don't you take on a few real opponents?" "I will devour you all!" Onikin screamed, losing his self-control rapidly deteriorating at the onslaught. ---------------------------------- WC - 546 TWC - 4535 |

“Temper, temper” Broli smirked before rushing in once again. Adrenaline was pumping this time, he could ignore his injuries for now, throwing punch after punch at the demon's face and chest. Onikin was quick however, blocking most of Broli's blows and sneaking in several along his ribs. Grunting, the young warrior was forced to back away. *he's getting stronger,* Broli thought to himself. *or this fights really taking it out of me*. He didn't have much time to consider which it was however as Onikin launched himself at Broli, tearing through the contingency of monks that had formed a defensive parameter around him. Gritting his teeth, Roshi ran to intercept, his blows running along Onikin's back as he reared back to attack Broli. "Don't forget, I'm your opponent here too!" The one time 'Invincible Old Master' shouted before grasping him in a full-nelson hold. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Broli started charging his ki into his hands, throwing beam ball after beam ball into the restrained monster's stomach, chest, and face. With a roar of anger, and pain, and great exertion, Onikin ripped his way out of Roshi's grip, kicking the old master in his chest and sending him skidding across the ground. "I'll deal with you soon enough you fool!" He screamed, turning in time to intercept another assault of blast from Broli. The Saiyan was sweating now. He needed to end the fight fast, otherwise Onikin may well turn things around. With a forceful punch into Broli's liver however, the fight was indeed turned around. The young Saiyan warrior coughed, spitting up blood before collapsing onto his hands and knees again. "Did you really think," Onikin demanded, smiling maliciously once more. "that either of you could have defeated me!? I am unstoppable!" He screamed. "We'll test that!" The remaining monks shouted, rushing the monster. Their power however, was merely human. Against the demon their attacks failed, their bodies folding like so much paper mache. But they continued fighting valiantly. The large monk who had attacked earlier was again leading the assault, landing a few blows on the monster's face. The demon roared again, exerting his power to knock the monks all across the courtyard. "Is this it!? Is this all you can place against me!? To think I was worried another Kanos may rise from these weaklings" He laughed, walking once again towards the temple. Only one monk remained now, the abbot himself. "Damn...damn..." Broli groaned, trying to force himself back up to his feet. ----------------------- WC - 423 TWC - 4958 post 10 of 15 |

The aged and weathered monk stood his ground as Onikin approached him, like an unstoppable force. He said nothing, simply holding his walking stick in hand, observing the demon. This old man was the last line of defence against whatever secrets Onikin wanted within the temple. "You should move," He declared. "your monks will want to have a leader." The demon laughed. "If it is to be my time," the monk spoke solemnly. "then it is to be my time." Their introduction having ended, the demon lashed out with a fierce punch at the monk, only to be turned aside by the staff which then was jammed down, striking at Onikin's foot. However, the monster swiftly stepped back and swung his kick at the aged monk's face. The monk could only retreat a bit against Onikin's growing onslaught of attacks. It was a delaying tactic. Nothing more. Although the monk could fend off the strikes of an enraged, unthinking demon...if Onikin calmed down, thought his moves out then it would be over for him. Fortunately, Onikin was now to enraged to see that obvious truth. He would also not be given the chance to refocus his wits. Master Roshi had at last recovered from his assault, with Broli climbing to his feet a short distance away. Focusing his breath, the ancient master cupped his hands at his side again. Once more preparing the signature technique of the turtle school. "Ka...." Roshi breathed, his ki lighting up the dark courtyard. "me..." His voice was growing in strength and force. The demon finally turned to look at him, giving the embattled monk a chance to breath. "ha...." Onikin growled, rushing Kame Sen'nin. His intent was obvious, he would kill the old man before he could finish his attack. "Me...HA!" Roshi shouted, the energies unleashed form his palms again. Onikin, in his assault took the blast head on, but amazingly seemed to be pushing closer to Roshi, his raw power against Kame Sen'in's legendary Kamehameha wave. "Crap, if the old guy dies how is he gunna teach me anything!" Broli muttered to himself, panic overcoming his mind as the demon drew closer to his teacher. Acting on instinct, Broli leapt upwards and into flight. Instinct, however, is rarely a force for intelligent decisions. Charging ki into his fist again, the young warrior threw another sokidan blast at the demon. But the blast merely caused an explosion as it struck Master Roshi's Kamehameha wave. Collapsing to one knee now, battered and breathing heavy, Broli raised his head up to look at the dust cloud. The demon, at least, looked about as bad he felt. Burns and bruises littering his body, even the occasional cut. "Why...wont...you...DIE!?" Onikin screamed, his own tarnished ki flaring up around him. ---------------- WC - 461 TWC - 5419 |

"Too...busy." Broli panted. He knew after that last stupid move he'd need a few moments to catch his breath. Or a few days to heal. Right now though, he'd settle for catching his breath. It seemed though, that he wouldn't be getting this chance as the enraged demon advanced on him. However, as luck would have it, Broli would once again be saved. The large monk had barely risen back up to his feet, but had picked up a jagged and pointed piece of stone from the destroyed statue before lunging himself at Onikin, attempting to drive the stone shard into his back. "Demon!" He shouted. "I cast you back to the pits from which you spawned!" Onikin roared again, feeling the stone cut through his body. So long had it been surrounded by monks and prayer had absorbed a certain amount of the temple's ambient energies. To an extent, the rock was somewhat purified. "Fool!" He screamed, trying to reach behind his back and grab the shard of stone out of his back, his arms not quite reaching. "I...will...end you all!" "Looks like...you've been pushing...yourself a little to hard." Roshi panted with a smirk. "You've...exhausted your power. Ehehe...you spent...too long killing...innocents. You just...weren't ready for...a struggle yet." "I'll...I'll..." He growled, focusing his power once again. "I'll...kill...you all! I will!" He screamed. The demon was pushed to the end of his rope. The shard of stone in his back was practically leaking his strength now. With the conversations going on around him, Broli was finally able to rise shakily to his feet. He had a plan now. He just needed to execute it. Which unfortunately meant fighting the demon who had proven that, even weakened, he was a formidable foe. Deciding not to hesitate, the young warrior threw himself at the demon, driving an elbow strike at it's head. Broli grunted, backing away and lashing out with his talons again. Trying to cut deeper gashes into Broli's back. "I...will not be beaten by the likes of you!" He screamed. "No...I think you will." he panted out as a reply. His body felt like it was on the edge of consciousness but he needed to keep going. His strikes were slower, his aim off. Exhaustion was claiming him. Enshu however seemed to be in a similar position, his own strikes were losing their strength, even as they slipped past his defences. Still, they held more than enough power to hurt. Roshi grit his teeth, more focused as he placed his palms together. Broli was giving the demon enough of a fight that the Invincible Master was going unnoticed. Electricity slowly forming around his body, focusing around his hands now. "Move!" He shouted to his pupil before thrusting his hands out, the surge of electricity from his hands hit the demon head on, trapping him within it's power as Broli threw himself back, landing slightly off balance. "R-roshi?" He panted, looking at the temporarily captive demon. "What are you-" "I can't hold him forever!" Roshi shouted to his student however. "Finish this!" He screamed. -------------------------------- WC - 512 TWC - 5931 Post 12 of 15 |

Broli took another deep breath to steady himself. His body was battered from the efforts of this fight up until this point. Despite commanding himself to move, his body refused for a few moments, delaying his rise up. Move! He screamed at his body, knowing full well what would happen if Onikin was released from Roshi's attack. Finally, with a struggle, he reached his feet, moving forward, slowly at first, but building speed. The young martial artist knew exactly what he needed to do. Onikin on the other hand was struggling to move as the electricity crackled over his body, a few small burns forming where the electric energies cascaded over him. "When...I get out of here...old man...!" He shouted, flexing his muscles against his captivity. Even Master Roshi however was pushed to his virtual limit. The constant fighting and movement, unleashing multiple powerful Kamehameha waves, and finally the Bankoku Bit Suri Sho had left him mostly drained. Still, for his student's sake, for the sake of countless people across the world, he needed to maintain the technique even just a little longer. "You wont do...anything!" Broli shouted, running himself behind Onikin's body, pivoting his body and drawing his ki into his fist again. The one technique that may stand a chance. “Falco Punch” (Seraphin Punch) with that deceleration, Broli threw his hand out in a punch, hitting the piece of stone lodged into his back, the energies of the strike both shoved it further into the demon's back, and shattered it, sending shrapnel further into Onikin's body. The beast screamed in pain as Roshi's technique finally ended. Onikin fell over onto his knees gasping as he tried to focus himself, trying to crawl away from the temple, to escape. "N-no...this...this can't...be! I...even Kanus...couldn't..." "Times change, Onikin The world has faced many new crises, many far beyond yourself." Roshi asserted simply, watching as Onikin's body began to shrivel, his muscles shrinking, his skin sagging on his skin. ------------------------- WC - 328 TWC - 6259 Post 13 of 15 |

"No...I am...the ultimate...evil...you can't...be rid of me!" He screamed, collapsing onto the ground at last, leaving no more than a skeleton of the demon on the ground. "Apparently," Broli coughed, sitting on the ground now. "we can." With that declaration from his mouth, the young warrior leaned back, letting his exhaustion claim him as the world went dark. He was uncertain how long he'd been out by the time he woke back up, however from the temple window he could see that the sun had risen again. "So...we're still alive then?" He mumbled, craning his neck to look over at Kame Sen'nin. "We are indeed." Roshi nodded, inclining his head to his pupil. "It seems you'll be making a full recovery. Nothing worse than some aching muscles for a few days." He chuckled. "So, does that mean I can take a break from the training?" Gosai inquired. "Does it ever mean that?" Roshi retorted with a smirk. "No. No I guess it doesn't." Broli laughed, working himself up into a sitting position. "So...when do we head back to the island?" He asked. "Well, I thought we'd stay and have lunch with the temple monks, and perhaps then we'd have a nice jog back to the island." "Oh...boy." Broli sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "Well, what are they having for food." "Pickled radishes, rice, and I believe venison." Roshi answered, rising to his feet. "I'll see you in the dining area." Broli could only nod again before he stood up. He looked around and the place was still very dirty and roughed up, but then, he supposed the monks had had a lot of work to do now that Onikin was gone for good... he wonder looking back to Roshi he nodded swiftly. "Works for me." He sighed, trying to stretch his muscles a bit before heading down to eat with the rest of the temple's occupants. ----------------------- WC - 317 TWC - 6576 |

The inside of the temple was as elegant as the outside, containing few extraneous details, a few statues a nice winding staircase back to the ground floor. The dining area was easy enough to find by following his nose. "Ah, you are awake?" The abbot asked, turning to face Broli as he entered the dining area. Many of the monks were in various states of injury, the large monk seemed to have gotten the worst of it, his head mostly wrapped up and an arm and a leg each in a splint. "I am." Broli nodded, bowing politely to him. "Ah...so where exactly is-" "Your teacher is over there." The abbot responded politely, gesturing Broli over to Roshi as the food was being served. The meal was a somber affair, Master Roshi and Broli ate quietly and quick, they cleared there plates within moments. Broli requested seconds but Master Roshi shock his head, he nudged the Saiyan. “We need to get back” Roshi informed him, Broli nodded, silently. They both then said their goodbyes to the monks. Master and Student travelled in silence for a time, neither discussing the events that had befallen them, nor what could have befallen the world. The trip seemed to take much longer this time as well, without the urgency or the need to get somewhere quick. This allowed the younger man to enjoy the daylight, and unlike Roshi, the women they passed. It was roughly another day of travel however before they had reached the training island and debarked. The two were quick to re-enter Kame House. "I think I'm gonna take a shower..." Broli sighed, throwing off his shirt. "And then collapse for a few hours." he muttered angrily. As the Saiyan warrior stomped upstairs. “Stupid, Planet” he told himself. “I really need to get out of here before I do any more good” he concluded, stroking an imaginary beard. ----------------------- WC - 320 TWC - 6896 |
