When that terrible event happened it started out just as any other ordinary winter day, the colder kind of the day when there weather is snowy and every rooftop is covered in that white, peaceful color that simply relaxes only by looking at it. Children were playing around in the snow, making snowmen and making snow angels, some were even playing snowball fights by throwing piles of ball-shaped snow at each other for fun (their most were guys, actually, in the city Krillin lived in). The roads were completely revealed for all the snow moved to the sidewalks by the valets working early at the day and possibly continuing with other jobs that needs to be taken care of later on the same day. Many people were still walking outside, minding their own business for what needed to be done on that day, such as going out shopping for groceries for the meals needed to be cooked that day, or going to work so they won't get fired or just to get the right salary they deserve. Everything was completely normal only with the snow filling the entire city roofs and grounds, forcing the cold atmosphere upon Central City - a certain thing which enforces the people to walk around in their hot clothing. It was always very comfortable to walk in such hot clothing for the people used to it, and in Central City where the weather is determined by the season it is always like that and the people doesn't seem to have any problem wearing those clothes. Truly a regular, peaceful, completely normal place with only a few weird things about it for every city has their own small quirks. In this city lived a certain pupil training under the great, invincible Master Roshi. He was bald, short and used to live in a temple near East City. The trainee's name was Krillin, and his day started off just like everybody else's. He started out by going to the usual place he works at, after finally becoming a boss that gets his salary from the government itself, owning a large and rather normal company that occupies itself in different deliveries using cars, trucks and even their workers' feet to deliver whatever comes to their hands as soon as possible. The bald man too, once started at this job as one that ran off from place to place to deliver whatever came to his hands, whenever it was packages, mail and ironically milk cartons as well. Not many workers managed to meet their boss yet, but the salary they received was satisfying enough to live through life easily and peacefully without too many concerns to be made, so they never even tried getting to his office in the first place. Krillin's office was located at one of the larger towers at Central City, at the 7th floor after bargaining a lot about which floor the office should be placed upon, the other choices were at the higher floors which could have been incredibly annoying for this human warrior. A rather nice floor was achieved after a long time though, but it was worth every single second of it. If the man didn't have enough willpower and money to place his office at the 7th floor where he can get there every morning without any problems at all if he's not training at his master of course, the place could have ended up being located at the higher floors such as the 21st or even the 23rd if the case was really that bad. It took him some time, effort, strong will and of course lots of money, but he finally got to get his respectful, honorable office which he's so proud of. He got a decent job which aided him perfectly with paying the rent at his house, mainly because he doesn't have much time to work anyway so a job with high salary like this one is sure to help anybody. The human warrior undercover's day began like any other person's day on that very certain date in a small twist added to it, waking up by the alarm clock after three rings of it noticing he's late and quickly and clumsily rushing outside of his house to get to work as fast as he can, still with only boxers and with bread stuck in his mouth. He noticed then that it's snowing and he's very cold, immediately entering the house again for being incapable of going to work like this in-front of all the other people walking the streets and the kids that might just be a little young to see a nearly naked man running across the streets yet, mainly the cold reason affecting his body. After only six minutes, he exited the house again, locking it properly while wearing his suit and went fancily towards his office like on every other normal day, not needing a car to drive there for the more urban area being right next door: near the house in a distance you won't need a car to get to. Besides, he didn't really have a driver's license yet, so it didn't quite matter if he used a car to get to his office or not, since he couldn't in the first place. On his way something caught Krillin's eye, looking at it while still walking, only wondering about it like what any other human which would catch sight of it would do. It was somehow a weird blue telephone box with the words 'POLICE' inscribed on the top. It was a police telephone box, used in the late 50s and the early 60s to call the police when the phone was only recently released to the public. Walking near the weird phone booth thinking to himself when did this arrive at the place, the human warrior chose to ignore this awkward sight and continue on with his normal day, just like every other regular human. The fact he was training under the most invincible master known to man didn't mean he had different needs than the rest of his fellow race friends. Little did he know though, this phone booth was going to serve him very well on the rest of this week, on the rest of this very snowy week. Post WC: 1,020. Total WC: 1,020. |

Krillin arrived at his office not too long after beginning his walk there, simply getting to that building after the strange encounter of eyes with the mysterious blue police box, rumored to be used in earlier years and days, and also being an extinct item that was long since forgotten by almost everyone on the planet today. Such an ironic scene though, walking out of his house and on his way to his office - all dressed up and ready to begin his day at work he comes across a blue police box out of the blue, randomly standing there and not noticed by anybody around the area. This ought to have been a lot weirder if Krillin payed any attention to the cell in the first place, but being a human with a busy schedule just like all other regular humans he couldn't afford to lose time and just kept on walking until finally arriving at his office, thinking that perhaps something is happening in the world and they're going to get the police boxes back to use. Yes, that could certainly be the most logical description for the random box to just appear there one day, even though nobody really heard any kind of repairing or building sounds over the night. The box just stood there all of the sudden, probably someone just decided to leave it there or it was some kind of art resemblance object. The human fighter didn't know much about art but could tell that a random police box like that standing in the middle of the road, without any connection whatsoever to the image regardless of the object sure is weird to see, and the artist must be at the level of a well-experienced one that mainly focuses on his life on creating art pictures or statues that reflect his or her emotions. Bleh, the short fighter wasn't the type of guy to get into this in the first place, so this didn't concern him much except for the disturbing thoughts running through his head. And so, he finally got to his office, ready to work. To get to his office at the 7th floor, a perfect spot it was for him for he just sat near his desk and did his paperwork while gazing at the sight of the city's movements, he had to either use the stairs or the elevator but first of all it was the regular part in which the human converses with the secretary that stands in-front of the reception counter, welcoming anybody coming in and if they're new to her she'll ask them what is their business in this building. Krillin was seen at the building for not such a small while before he got his own office, working under a different boss that held his own office but now it was the bald fighter's time to shine. Once he had a joke with that secretary about his bald head that doesn't seem to grow hair (to her at least) and said that if he ever becomes a boss in his job she will buy a special wig just for him, though he declined after laughing with her for a small while. When he arrived at the large building with the glass doors, he could see through the doors just to figure out that nothing has changed yet again with this set scenery that always seems to be the same: the elevator located in the end of the hallway, the walls made of a special artificial stone that makes it look good with the red cloths hanging from the ceiling in some way, the bar made of artificial wood with marble rock used as its desk and the several chairs standing at their regular place at the lobby, the waiting corner which included several signs giving information of the place's locations and directions and a few several televisions that people could watch while waiting for their receptions to come out. This scene was the same every day Krillin arrived at this large building except for several days in which some people were seen walking around from the staircase door located near the bar or around the lobby for their own concerns. "Anet, g'morning." The man announced as he entered the lobby casually, with his hands in his pockets looking as if he wasn't stressed at all. This fake calm face the fighter was capable of putting on whenever he wanted came in very handy in most stressful situations, and was sure to be useful in a courtroom as well if he ever gets to unfortunately step in there for a main role such as a lawyer or a prosecutor, a defendant if he's very unlucky. Anet, so the secretary's name was called by Krillin at least, was a brown, long-haired freckled girl with a ponytail and green eyes in her early twenties, working in that place thanks to her siblings and so she could get enough money to spend on her university studies. She was a real celebrity amongst the people working in that building for several parties held every Thursday's end, when she's introducing herself to everybody when she gets to drink too much, but above that she was a rather sweet and well-mannered girl. "Krillin, hi! A bit late, aren't you... Glad you could make it though!" She said, the normal innocent smile on her face. Her personality was anything but innocent, to be honest, but that face just looked so much similar to a child's normal face, the ideal kind when they see someone they like. The human fighter, from past experiences, learned that it's best not to try making the move on that girl for the father might actually murder him (almost happened once, if he didn't ever train at Master Roshi's doubtfully he would have still been alive as well). "A boss is never late, you know. We decide when to show up, it's our job after all! Well, off to work. Good day." The human announced in a rather serious tone, but the girl already understood that he was only referring a small joke while he actually meant what he said. With that, the bald man went past the first step of arriving at his office and went directly for the elevator. Post WC: 1,043. Total WC: 2,063. |

Krillin went inside the elevator which wasn't really something special, after having that small chat with the secretary Anet which usually greets anyone to enter - providing the fact she knows who they are, of course. Once entering, the lights seemed to be the usual: powerful and being a burden in the process of seeing whatever you want when looking up in that small booth that allows transportation within the building. In-front of the automatic doors opened by the push of a button once reaching the floor you are on currently was placed a large mirror glass placed above a wood-made banister attached to the wall with several steel bars coming out of it. The sides also included the same sized mirrors but these didn't really have a handrail for convenience options done and thought deeply by the designer of the elevator which also added a green carpet on the walls for decoration purposes only. The building's manager, the billionaire which allowed himself to have such a fancy elevator although it's just a booth that lifts you up and down in place of the stairs, didn't know almost anybody from the people using the rooms he gives people for the payment he will receive from them for using the room - a monthly pay coming from humans and such using all 25 floors of the building. It was as if his own money was making money for him. When entering the elevator and closing his eyes once looking at the bright light on the ceiling of the cell, the bald fighter tried to nullify the light's passage to his eyes by raising his hand to the light's direction, blocking the powerful burden from the sight and thus being able to easily continue with whatever he wanted to do. The man then looked at all the floors available, the doors didn't even close yet when he did. Only once he clicked on the button which said "7" near it was the moment the automatic doors closed and the man could feel the elevator sinking for a second and then going up. The human peacefully sighed as he waited in the elevator for the booth to reach the floor he should get to, knowing he finally made it to get to work without any problems getting in the way. It was a real rush back there, waking up late after the alarm clock already made its sound 3 times isn't such a bad thing, and then there was the thing with the wrong outfit and breakfast to have, Krillin should definitely not make a habit out of this thing although it would add a bit of exercise to his daily life with all this running in his house and out without a shirt to withstand the cold weather. As he was waiting in the elevator during that short period of time waiting, something quite odd happened to the short fighter (to be precise, to the surroundings of the man). As he was just getting used to the powerful light he could notice that somehow the elevator isn't quite advancing anymore or is just slowing down, a sign that could probably mean bad news for the human fighter. Never once has he got stuck inside a moving elevator, and now especially when he's rather late although he was the boss himself, this could have been a bit stressing for a regular human, but Krillin learned to remain calm under stressful scenes (especially this type) because if he isn't it could cost him in something valuable (in a fight, it would be a win or his life if risked it). The elevator stopped completely after a small while with a powerful creaking sound, probably noting the sudden stop of the metal rope pulling the booth up caused by something that's probably heavy enough to make it stop. Maybe Krillin was putting on too much weight these past few days? No, it can't be that, he can still easily fit in his business man suit, so there's just no way he was the cause of this. But before the man could realize exactly what was happening around him, the light in the booth suddenly turned off. Wait a second, what just happened here? It appears that while he couldn't quite notice what was happening around him while drowning deep into his own world of thoughts, the bright light, the powerful bright light along with the metal rope stopped working for not receiving electricity, most odds are. That is because simply if it wasn't or that, it could be that a place in the building was destroyed or the booth near Krillin got damage which made it to malfunction and begin falling down quickly, though that didn't quite happen for the man was still standing normally without feeling anything but for the sudden darkness engulfing his light-used eyes. What exactly was going on outside? A more questioning fact is that a few seconds after the light where Krillin could hear a small sound coming from the outside resembling a human's shout, the light returned and the elevator once again began moving, getting to the 7th floor the man wished to arrive at using the small cell in the first place. Right now though, his focus was on an entirely different matter: not working, not arriving at his office, not opening the glass doors locked by a key he possesses. No, it was not something like that, but rather what could have caused this small power down of the electricity around the building and more, to make everything return only in one instant after a shout as well. Perhaps it was some kind of prank pulled by punks using the building as a residence or local room? That is not an option you should cancel out before checking, of course, but then there's the matter than the electricity company running this entire building's power didn't get their payment from the billionaire that runs this place and thus decided to shut down the electricity in that specific area. But if that would have been the case, Krillin could have been stuck in that small cell for several hours until the power returns. The human fighter's thoughts of who did this and why kept on, but not for enough time to come up with an answer. He did, after all, reach his floor only moments later. Time to get back to reality, oh well... Post WC: 1,072. Total WC: 3,135. |

It looks like his work was interfered with after all. The windows at his office were completely soundproof and yet he could hear something coming from the outside perhaps because he's capable of sensing nearby Ki, or because the windows just broke in a small place while he wasn't looking, being still so busy with his work. That was an intensive moment of great doubt in what was going to strike him next, he had no idea what it was going to be but Krillin surely kept his guard up from that moment and on. It was as if the world wanted him to notice the great obstacle coming up next to attack him, for the paperwork just didn't matter anymore and he could have just threw everything away only for that very reason: to check out what was aiming an assault on the building. Then again, he wasn't even sure if the assault was going to be on that very place - and if there will be any attack attempts at all. He only knew one thing however: things were going to get a bit rough from that moment and on, although this day started the way it did. How disappointingly ironic. "And that's that with Kelada's delivery. I'll ask Jade to bring it after she's done with the current work..." The fighter's voice wasn't the usual, he sounded almost as if hesitating to make any moves at all. He wanted to finish his work as soon as possible, and so the reason for his foot seemingly trembling, or more like swiftly moving (noting a sign of stress or a will to end something already, uneasiness). Once he finished with the last piece of paper laid upon his office desk, he folded it in two and signed the paper's back using the new stamp he has, the one that prints the words "Pao Words" in a special way with a symbol in the middle. Once done, he stacked it along with the rest of the papers he stamped for the day. It's amazing how much can stress make things faster for humans, without even noticing the human managed to finish most of his undone work from yesterday's session in merely 36 minutes and had to move to a different subject already, a different type of deliveries. But before he got to even take a decent look at what he was about to face, another sound broke through the soundproof windows, one that sounded like a weak explosion. Now, Krillin's nerve broke and he finally decided to go check out what exactly was happening outside to see if he can actually complete his work peacefully today, something which never really happened after what he witnessed. Such a terrible event to happen exactly on that cold winter day, why did it have to be a day in which people won't listen though? And then there was also the thing with the blue police box from earlier which now got a bit clearer for this short man after seeing those mirage-like sights from the outside. What the man saw was the blue police box hovering in the air as if flying, around an enormous plate-like object with shiny lights spinning around. He could tell how large it is for it was far away (judging by the fading colors) and yet looking like the size of a regular warship the marines would use - at close inspection. It was just gigantic, too big. At first Krillin thought he was imagining things, that was going crazy, but turns out it was all true. After rubbing his eyes and trying to slap himself so he could wake up from this, even resorting to pour some water on his face to get a better hold of the sight, it looks like everything was real. The blue box was freaking flying in the air, towards a humongous flying ellipse plate (both sides, two plates on one another) with glowing lights that are actually capable of breaking through the soundproof glass windows this man's office contained, though if it wasn't for that there was no way he could have noticed this upcoming menace. The next thing Krillin knew, the warship shot a large laser beam at the flying box, something which put him into more shock. Things like this you don't get to see everyday, not at all. What's more, he could see some dust grains and paper scraps, as well as small rocks flying up to the direction of the ship, passing by the windows at a decent rate. This was the 7th floor. The freaking 7th floor, and some rubble from the ground passed it as if it was nothing, like it was a hill leading down. When looking down, the man could see that the people are just walking without noticing anything strange, minding their own business. Before this laser beam could hit anyone or anything, the human fighter decided to take action and warn everybody around the city that he can find that a new menace is approaching. Then again, who is going to listen to a random short guy running around shouting that aliens are attacking? No one. But there wasn't much to do. Post WC: 1,961. Total WC: 5,096. |
