Goku Junior sat in the corner of his Namekian style dwelling. He was sweating profusely and grunting slightly as he sat there and rocked. His head was a furious storm of mixed emotions. One minute he would be as happy as a little puppy, but the next minute, he was cold and full of hate. It had been like that pretty much ever since the battle at Guru’s temple, where himself and the Hybrid Akina fought valiantly against the powerful Kizu. The whole reason the child had been sent to the planet was to protect the peaceful land where he currently dwelled. Kami warned him of the powerful darkness that was aiming to consume the planet, but the evil entities at the temple, even though tough and vicious, where not as strong as he was suspecting. Hell, he defeated them even without the help of the Dragonballs, which he was told he would need if he was going to prevail. Yet here he was, still on Namek, still searching for the Dragonballs, still waiting for that great struggle he was told about, but the only struggle that the Saiyan was aware of currently, was the great struggle inside of his mind. There was something trying to access him, infiltrate him, use him entirely. And, when it took charge, there was no way that Goku was able to stop it. He only could sit back and watch the carnage that his hands desire to wreak. Not that he had done anything malicious or violent just yet, but on several accounts he was only nano-seconds away from manslaughter. Quite frankly, Goku was terrified by this strangeness, but he dared not show it and used every fiber of his being to restrain it. Unbeknownst to the little warrior, the darkness was still to come. The first skirmish, in the temple, was only a test--a taste of the young fighters strength if you will. The second test was the one that was unveiling itself inside the boy. The demon was now using mind control over Junior to test his will power and the pureness of his heart. Though not the final phase in the master scheme, it was possible the most important. If the strongest being on the planet was under the control of the darkness, then it would only be completely possible for this evil to rule. Regardless of if the Demon-Lord, Daifu, could control the Saiyan or simply kill him, he was hell bent on succeeding in his diabolical mission. Finally after a long drawn out span of time, Goku suppressed the rising evil and relaxed his tense, sweating body. He sat back and rested his jagged, hair-covered head against the wall, and with his ebony eyes, he looked to the white, stone arched ceiling. “I’ve got to get out of this room for a bit,” he said, standing to his feet. “Maybe walk will do me some good.” The calmed, usual Halfling slipped on his boots and grabbed a leather carrying bag before he headed out the door. He hoped to find another Dragonball or at least something to do. WC: 519 |

Upon his leave, Goku took with him his trusty Hero’s Sword, which he had tightly strapped around his back, and a leather man-purse, which was thrown over his shoulder--it contained several capsules, some sensu beans, and the dragon radar. All of the items were given to him back home on Earth by the great guardian Kami and proved to be handy accessories when used. The most important of these was by far the Dragonball locator. There was no way he could’ve found the five balls, that he possessed, without it, but with the stale decline of action on Namek, the magical orbs hardly seemed useful. The first mission for the young hero was a search for some food. He was starving and, since arriving on the alien planet, hadn’t been truly satisfied like he was used to. That fact alone could be the cause for the child’s irate tantrums and the overwhelming sensation of pure hatred that haunted him on random occasions. But no, really that was not the reason for those spells, it was something that he was completely aware of and something that was soon to give him the fight of his life. Entering a dense patch of forest, Goku unsheathed his sword and bent his knees slightly to take to a sneaky, crouching position--better known as hunt mode. He covered himself behind a thick, blue tree and stretched his big spiky head around the knotty trunk. A smile stretched across his face as his eyes locked up with a fawn like creature--I suppose that’s what you could call it, or maybe Namekian deer? Anyway, Junior gripped his sword tight and slowly raised it high with one hand, and used his other hand to steady himself against the tree. He narrowed his eyes, those black little beady eyes, and took precise aim. His sword-bearing arm moved slightly with each count that was recoded in his head. Breakfast! “One….,” he thought, digging his forward foot deeper into the ground for a steady foothold. “Two….,” he gripped the handle even tighter, all the while with focused eyes. “Thr…What the?!?” Just then a thick, oily, sticky, black glob of goop dropped from the branches above him and smothered his throwing arm. Needless to say, the “deer” was spook by the commotion and darted off immediately. Goku scowled and reached up with his free hand and attempted to remove the tar. Much to his surprise though, the goo was not to be easily removed. As soon as his fingertips touched the substance, they were instantly bonded. “Hey,” he shouted, directing the word towards the blob in an tone of aggravated offense. The more he struggled to try and remove the crap, the more he succumbed to it’s trap. It was then that the young Saiyan noticed something very weird. The lifeless tar glob was not lifeless at all, it was alive and trying to completely consume him. WC: 492 |

For several minutes, after the initial contact with the goo, Goku Junior continued his struggle, but it was to no avail. Everything that he tried was useless, and now, with more than fifty percent of his body covered in the slime, he was getting desperate. He had long since dropped the trusty Hero's Sword, not that it would probably be of any use anyhow, and trying to pull the glob away was no use either. It seemed like the sticky blackness was growing. But what was it feeding off of? The Saiyan child could gradually feel himself getting weaker by the second. His only conclusion for the thing's rapid growth was that it at energy, life energy. The same substance that the young fighter needed to live. And, it seemed that the more the boy struggled the more he became stuck. "Okay, that's it," Junior said aloud with gritted teeth and a hot temper, "if you're hungry, then I will give you all that you can eat!" The Halfling hoped that his notion of supply verses demand would work--his energy being the supply side of course. He let out a bellowing roar that seemed to shake everything around; the trees, the ground, the animals, the sky, the goop, and even himself. Within an instant a burning emission of energy enveloped the two struggling beings. Junior continued pumping out his precious life force. And, just as he guessed, the blob continued to grow, but at a more rapid pace than before. Being completely covered from the neck down, Goku took one last deep breath and pushed as hard as he ever had. Suddenly the Saiyan was completely enveloped by the sticky resin and no trace of him could be found; not even the burning aura of energy that could once be seen. Everything was black. But then something started to happen. The glob of goop continued to swell--to an ungodly size, almost five times as big as when it completely surrounded the child. It started to thin as it stretched, and before long the Saiyan boy, Goku, could be seen behind a thin film of tar. Giving one last, inaudible, gritty scream, Junior managed to burst the sticky bubble and completely disintegrated it with the furiously burning ki that covered his body. With his breathing being heavily inhaled and exhaled, and with sweat profusely dripping from his brow, the child stayed fixed in the charging position for a few short minutes after the blob disappeared. He wanted to make sure that it was gone for sure. Finally the Sayain child dissipated his ki and relaxed his tensed muscles. He was tired and had lost a lot of energy--a whole lot, more than seventy-five percent of it to be precise. But, the worst thing of all was that he was still hungry. That would fix everything. Goku knelt down and picked up his sword. His mind was now set for finding breakfast, but still the consuming goop, that almost overtook him, still stuck fresh in the back of his mind. What the heck was that stuff! I had to be apart of that darkness…… It had to? He wondered as he trampled on through the slim, but smooth--obviously from it being well trodden of the years by many a soul--forest trail, and stabbed the Hero’s Sword back into it’s scabbard. Guess I can head down to the pond and catch some fish. It’s not really what I had in mind, but it will do. Maybe I’ll come across some more of those wild potato-like things. Fish and chips! That would be yummy! Though he was still weak and tired, the thought of food always somehow seemed to reenergize the wiry little Saiyan. It was the source of his great power and strength, sometimes even his most important reason for living, or so he thought. No matter what ailed him, food, or the thought of food, always proved to be a sufficient medicine. Reaching the lake, he walked to a tall, branchy tree and picked the longest and most flexible of the litter. The one he picked was indeed long and very flexible too; he found out by testing it’s durability under the pressure of a bend. It had to hold up. If he wanted to catch the size fish that he wanted, it would have to. “Perfect,” he exclaimed as he cleared the final crooked twigs and leaves from the long, slender shaft of the switch. The only problem now was that there was no string and no hook. The small Hybrid raised his hand to his chin and fingered it for a moment as he thought, where could I find some string? Just then, as if he was slapped in the face by his brilliant idea, he straightened up and stuck a proud finger into the air. Then, after that goofy gesture, he scurried over to the edge of the woods, right outside of the path he had just traveled down, and paused excitedly in front of a very, very large spider web. Junior scanned all around the massive and intricately weaved structure, but there was no spider to be found. If it would have been there, then Goku was sure he would see it. Besides, the arachnid would have to be at least five times the kid’s size if to match the web; no one could miss that big of an insect, not even the most blind man on the planet. Ever so cautiously, Goku reached outward toward the silk, white web. He could feel his hands sweating as they inched closer and closer. What if the spider was hiding somewhere hidden in the tree tops? What if he pounced down on top of him just as his finger touched the spun thread? Vibrations were what triggered there arrival, everyone knew that, and his touch, a single snatch, could sound a most unwanted alarm. His thumb and forefinger pinched the thick, but fine thread and ripped out with one quick tug. The other end of the silk strand, the end that was still attached to the octagon structure, didn’t release quite as easily though. In fact, it stayed intact and maliciously vandalized the beautiful spirals of it’s design as the boy pulled. He kept one eye on the unwinding web whilst the other scanned around and looked for any signs of a spider. Finally the sticky string broke, but left a rude mar on the web as it departed. And, come to find out, nothing jumped down from above to seize him. With the string in hand, which was a lot longer than he really needed, he scuttled back over to his ‘fishing pole’ and tied the web-string tightly around the thinnest end. He then drew out, with both hands, the amount of line that he desired and clipped it with his chomping front teeth. With that out of the way, all that he need was bait, and he was sure that if he dug into the ground a bit, there was most certainly going to be some sort of wriggling creature to fill that spot. It had been a few days since Piccolo last sparred with the Sayian child named Goku and Piccolo was on his way for another day of training with the Guru. Piccolo had been training very hard his last few weeks and even Piccolo noticed how quickly he was progressing; this made him happy. As Piccolo continued to fly towards Guru’s place all the sudden he couldn’t stop thinking about what Goku Jr. had warned him about. What was this Darkness that was enveloping his planet? Piccolo had begun to notice random spurts of energy occurring throughout the planet, were these energies the source of this darkness Goku had warned him about? In fact, this thought troubled Piccolo so much that he was even flying the long way to Guru’s over some forest because he had felt a spurt of energy close by this morning. Little did Piccolo know, the energy he felt this morning had in fact come from Goku’s struggle with the blob. Piccolo was hoping he would find some clue about the darkness or even run into Goku again so he could be of some help, after all it was Piccolo’s home planet too. It didn’t feel right that a foreigner was burdening himself to protect their entire planet. As Piccolo flew he examined the forest closely, not knowing what to look for he just looked for anything out of the ordinary when suddenly he saw some tall trees shake violently. “It would take a lot of force to do that,” Piccolo thought, “Might as well check it out.” Piccolo landed a good 20 – 30 meters away to see what was going on, as he peeked through a bush he couldn’t believe his eyes! It was Goku chomping on a giant spider web! Piccolo jumped out of the bush, “Hey Goku! I’ve been looking for you!” Piccolo yelled perhaps a little too eagerly, “I wanted to know more about the danger to my planet that you spoke of when we sparred.” He said becoming a little more serious. “Also what’s with the giant web?” he asked, pointing to the web. It was all to convenient running into Goku like this,… perhaps fate had brought them together again for a common purpose? WC: 381 |

Goku had just finished digging up a fat, wriggly grub worm, and had just finished tying it around the string--biting the excess line from the knot--when out from the bushes popped a shouting voice. "Hey Goku! I've been looking for you!" Junior was completely startled by the unexpected surprise and jumped high into the air. His first thoughts were of the spider, who's web he had just recently destroyed. The Halfling was sure that the arachnid hand come home, from a long day of work, and only to find his patiently and intricately weaved web demolished. It would only make since for him to go after the closest person to his home, to the person who was holding strands of that same home in his hands. Landing into the water, that he was right beside, Goku was completely immersed in the cool green liquid and stayed there for a moment. Maybe spiders were afraid of water, he thought as he hunched down, trying to see through the water's murky surface. On top, all that could be seen, that would identify where the boy was hidden, was a succession of oxygen filled bubbles that sputtered up to the surface one by one. Wait a second, thought Goku as he raised his hand to his chin, a perplexed expression about his face. If that was the spider, then how could he have known my name? Slowly and ever so steadily, Goku raised surfaced. First to peak out of the soft green liquid was his spiky head, which was still standing erect even though soaked with water. Next, after a slow, cautious second, his eyes emerged, squinted and narrowly focused on the intruder at the water's edge. The once frightened Saiyan boy was no longer in that fashion once he realized who the actual intruder was--which was not even an intruder at all, but a friend. Goku trudged out of the water with a sort of scowl smudging his face as he exited. "Piccolo!" Exclaimed Goku Junior, shaking his limbs all about and trying to remove the weighing water, "what are you trying to do? Give me a heart attack?" “I wanted to know more about the danger to my planet that you spoke of when we sparred," replied the Namekian in a serious tone. “Also what’s with the giant web?” he asked, pointing to the web. Goku immediately relinquished his frustration and burst out in a playful laughter. "Don't worry about it," he said with a trailing off chuckle. "But, to answer your other question: I remember you asking me about the darkness, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to say anything at the time. This mission, that I'm on, is a very secret one. I was instructed not to alarm the peaceful people here and to be as covert with my position as possible." Junior then paused for a second and looked up to the sky before continuing; water in motion and trickling down his young face. "But, I suppose it won't hurt if I tell you. You seem trust worthy enough and only seem concerned for your home. You have a right to know, I suppose." The Saiyan child paused again, but for a bit longer this time. During the break he took the chance to dry himself of using the quickest method that he knew of. With the tightening of both of his fist, a translucent, flaming shroud of ki engulfed him entirely and burned with intense heat all around him. His clothes seemed weightless, ruffling and whipping about as the heated energy manipulated it with it's gust, as did his pointy, raven locks of hair that flailed about, atop his thick cranium. Within a matter of minutes, the boy was as dry as a whistle and started back talking. "How about you hang out with me tonight and I'll explain everything. I still haven't eaten yet and I'm starving, so I'll be rounding up something soon. But you don't eat food do you?" He paused with a quick thought, then carried on as if he didn't. "There will be a fire, though. Everybody loves a good fire. What do you say?" WC: 699 |

Half the planet away… A hairline crack slowly creeps across an isolated and flat piece of land, that lies deep within a shadowy valley. The dry, barren plot of land was known to be the lowest point on the Namek; a place far, far below sea level. Loud pops and snaps sounded as the break continued on through the once mended soil. The more and more that it grew, the more intense the sounds became. Then, all of the sudden, as if all of the effort was for maybe the planet just to stretch a bit, the crooked, thin, breaking line halted it’s progression and split no more. A few seconds of silence passed where nothing happened. But, quietly, so quietly, a slow and almost inaudible rumble started a bellow from within the core of the cut planet. A few seconds more passed, and the brewing, bubbling sounded began increasing, in not only volume, but in the magnitude of it’s ground jolting vibrations as well. By that point, the whole planet was shaking, and fiercely too. Like a pair of hands splitting open a set of drapes, the once gentle crack ravenously gashed open wide. The abrupt split in the ground looked much like a splayed open wound that‘s been freshly sliced, by sharpened steel--due to the way the ground splintered and almost seemed to peel away. A dark, creeping, shadowy, fog danced out of the gap and took to the sunny green skies. It continued flowing, soon filling the entire sky, and rapidly transforming the bright green into a dark, looming haze. Out from the belly of the gash, a black figure, with the same looming shadow around him, crawled out stiffly and morbidly. Once he was fully emerged, he perched himself on the edge, of what was now a canyon, and let a blood curdling scream rip from lungs. After that, he stayed hunched on the side of the tare, breathing rampantly, on all fours, and groaned grunts of anguish and tiredness. The Dark Lord has arrived. The Dark Lord, Daifu stood on the edge of the ripped-open land, a dark aura smoking about his blackened body. His figure resembled that of a Namekians; perhaps he was one, long ago, but countless age’s and forgotten centuries in the Namekian underworld left him nothing but charred and full of hateful powers. His pupils had long since been replaced by glowing, piercing red dots; dots known to pierce through even the most pure and brave heart. His stature would not be considered minuscule either. Towering at seven foot or better, the fierce demon lord easily dwarfed most men and demon a like. There was no equal to such a Lord. Not one on Namek and certainly not in the demon world. Every foe that Lord Daifu ever faced, either succumbed to his intense mind and body control, or if they somehow refused the possession, then they suffered the most brutal and gruesome death imaginable. It’s said that even the Great Satan himself is leery to encounter Daifu. And now, such a foe is putting in to motion, the final steps of his diabolical plan. The plan that he has so patiently waited a millennium for; the plan to transform the peaceful planet Namek in to his kingdom of darkness. “The time has come,” he muttered quietly, but the voice was so low and full of bass that it shook the ground and the towering mountains that surrounded him. Slowly, he started to ascended into the air, using his dark, shadowy ki to raise him from the split and cracked earth. He continued hovering, slowly creeping high into the blotted, shadowy sky, until he reached the taller of the two mountain peaks. Upon his halt, he forced both of his muscular arms out to his sides as if he were hung to a cross. His eyes burned red and emitted a bright, terrifying glow and the shadowy aura, that surrounded him, began to wave, ripple and swirl, with the utmost fury, around his pulsating, muscle-bound body. “Goku,” he yelled out to the darkness, “you have try to hinder me for too long now!” The dark ki quickly expanded in size and exploded forth with much greater intensity. Lighting and thunderclaps appropriately joined in on the commotion and seemed to draw to the growing dark power. “I’m coming for you little boy! Prepare to die!” WC: 739 |

"Piccolo!" Exclaimed Goku Junior, shaking his limbs all about and trying to remove the weighing water, "what are you trying to do? Give me a heart attack?" “I wanted to know more about the danger to my planet that you spoke of when we sparred," Piccolo said more seriously, “Also what’s with the giant web?” he asked, pointing to the web. "Don't worry about it," Goku said with a laugh, "But, to answer your other question: I remember you asking me about the darkness, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to say anything at the time. This mission, that I'm on, is a very secret one. I was instructed not to alarm the peaceful people here and to be as covert with my position as possible." Goku paused for a second and thought, "But, I suppose it won't hurt if I tell you. You seem trust worthy enough and only seem concerned for your home. You have a right to know, I suppose." "How about you hang out with me tonight and I'll explain everything. I still haven't eaten yet and I'm starving, so I'll be rounding up something soon. But you don't eat food do you?" He paused with a quick thought, "There will be a fire, though. Everybody loves a good fire. What do you say?" Piccolo thought to himself for a moment, “Guru will probably be mad that I’m skipping out on today’s training,” but Piccolo couldn’t help but think about what might happen to his planet he needed to find out! Surely if Guru was training him to help defend the planet he would understand Piccolo’s reasoning. “All right that sounds good Goku, why don’t you get some fish and I’ll get the fire going,” Piccolo said admit ably excited to take a day off from his training as well. Piccolo had finished gathering all the fire wood and fired a small ki blast from his mouth to get the fire going, “heh I guess ki can be used for more than just fighting” Piccolo said with a grin as the fire grew to a good size bon fire. Just as Piccolo finished getting the fire started Goku Jr. arrived back at camp with several huge fish over both shoulders. “Wow, you going to eat all that?” Piccolo said a little surprised, “Where are you going to put it?” Clearly not understanding how such a small child could eat so much. They ate and talked for awhile on the camp fire just casual talk and became closer comrades throughout the night but after a few hours of casual talk Piccolo couldn’t wait any longer. “Alright Goku, let’s here it,” Piccolo said becoming more serious and concerned, “This darkness, …” a silence stuck them both for a moment, “What is it and how can I help?” Piccolo asked almost desperately. Goku’s face turned a little pale as he looked Piccolo in the face and his mouth began to move. What was this darkness that was about to be revealed and would their combined strength be enough to stop it? WC: 523 |

Goku tossed the cumbersome string of fish on the ground in front of the fire. A huge smile split across his face. “Oh boy,” he exclaimed as he sat down by the scaly, dead vertebrates. “Nice fire,” he added, looking to Piccolo as he removed a small knife from his pocket. As soon as the blade was readied in his grip, he started filleting and cleaning the massive Namekian fish. Shortly after, Piccolo queried about the darkness, but the young Saiyan didn’t answer right off. He waited until he was finished gutting the first fish, then wiped the gooey blade on his pants and looked at his curious green friend with a pale, expressionless face. “Alright, here it goes,” he said with a sigh. He didn’t really want to think about what had happened, with his first encounter with the darkness anyway, but he knew that his friend really wanted to know. Besides, and extra hand was sure to be needed in the upcoming struggle. “About three months ago, I landed on this strange planet. No offense meant, but to me, this is a strange place indeed. Anyway, the whole reason for my being here is due to a Namekian, Earth’s guardian, Kami. I believe that I have mentioned him before.” As the Saiyan boy spoke, his hands, with the fire light in front of them, cast wavy shadows on the rocks that surrounded them, giving a visual effect as he spat his story. “I was told by my master, Kami, that a terrible evil was growing on Namek. A evil that has not been seen, on the planet, for a millennium. A destructive force that is hell bent on conquering and enslaving the entire Namekian race. Daifu is the name of the Dark lord that is pursuing this ambition. I met him once, or a ghostly figure of him at least, about a month after I arrived here. The shadowy darkness that followed him consumed the entire planet and possessed each and every being here.” By that time Junior had already cut and cleaned all of his fat fish and had started munching down on them. Pulling on a wide tail fin, that stuck out of his filled mouth, he pulled out a wide structure of thin bones and tossed the carcass to the side. With a loud belch, Goku wiped his mouth and continued on. Luckily, I was able to stop the evil, controlled natives, with out too much blood shed, and somehow I absorbed all of the planet’s darkness into myself. Sadly, Guru’s temple was destroyed in the process, but the evil was defeated. Or so I thought.” Goku finished off his last piece of fish, leaned back, and patted his bulging stomach. It was what he had been longing for all day; a good meal. He wasn’t finished with his story, and hadn’t intended too, but it happened and at a good spot too--leaving for a perfect cliff hanger to captivate his one man audience, Piccolo. “Come to find out, the mass attack of the possessed Namekians was only a test. I guess to find out how strong the opposition was or something, I don’t know, but I do know that when he comes back, I’ll be here to stop him!” Goku said as he stood to attention triumphantly and clenched both fist out in front of him, gazing off into the darkened sky. Suddenly, out of no where, a giant, hairy arachnid sprang out from the thick forest that was behind the two warriors. Goku’s attention was instantly drawn to the beastly creature, and a look of surprise covered his face. The gigantic spider’s eyes were glowing an intense red, and the long, moving fangs, that hung from it’s mouth, dripped with a toxic saliva as it opened and closed. “Which one of you two fools destroyed my we,” hissed the hideous and largely over grown insect. Piccolo listened to Goku with sincere concern for his planet and it's well being as Goku began to reveal part of what this darkness truly was and what was to be expected. Piccolo couldn't help but clench his fists as Goku spoke of the possesed Namekian village and how the darkness took over them. Just then Goku said something that really caught Piccolo'c attention, "Sadly, Guru’s temple was destroyed in the process, but the evil was defeated. Or so I thought.” What did Goku mean, Guru's temple was destroyed!? Piccolo had been training with Guru all this time and Guru never even bothered to mention such a thing to him, why? Did Guru not think Piccolo, as a guardian of this planet, should know of such an occurance? Maybe Guru didn't think he was yet ready to face such a powerful foe? Come to think of it, Piccolo hadn't seen Takana in a few days now and he was thought to be one of Namek's strongest Guardians, maybe Guru sent him off to investigate. Regardless, it seemed that what Goku was telling Piccolo was absolutely true and not just some child's made up fantasy. Piccolo became a little trouble by all this and decided to ask Goku about Guru's temple, but just as he opened his mouth to speak he was cut off. “Which one of you two fools destroyed my we,” hissed the hideous and largely over grown insect. Piccolo looked to the direction of the giant arachnid and couldn't help but chuckle a little as seeing the spider just reminded Piccolo of when he saw Goku with the giant web in his mouth chomping down. The insect took note of Piccolo's laughter and began rushing at him while yelling, "You dare laugh in my presence! It must've been you then who destroyed my web!" As soon as the creature had yelled this Piccolo quickly realized this wasn't your typical giant spider, its' energy was getting more and more intense as it drew near. The spider shot out a green sludge of toxic poison right at Piccolo that manage to splatter on his right arm as he darted away from the path of the overgrown beast. "AAAHHHH!!!" Piccolo yelled as the poison started to eat away at his arm. Thinking fast Piccolo quickly tore into his right arm with his left and ripped it off his body before it could start eating at the rest of his body. Not even flinching the spider quickly rushed Piccolo again, Piccolo this time fired a mouth blast at some trees above causing a blast of smoke a debri to fill the arachanids line of sight which also gave Piccolo enough time to get a safe distance away. "Shit!" Piccolo said "I hate tearing my own arm off!" at this Piccolo began powering up, it was time to take this spider serious. He wasn't too worried though after all, the Spider had completed ignored Goku for lookig like a child. Piccolo knew this would play out as an advantage. WC: 507 |

Goku was stunned by the arachnid's intrusion and was even more stunned when he realized that the spider automatically assumed that Piccolo was the culprit. Why was that so, he wondered. He decided to let the scene play out a bit before attempting to take on the spider. The young fighter definitely thought there would be something to learn from the unfolding skirmish. Junior narrowed his eye's and studied the spider closely. All eight of the beast's beady eyes were fiercely glowing red and his demeanor was all dis-trout and unusual. He'd never none a spider, much less any insect or animal, lash out like the one that was charging forth at Piccolo. "He's possessed," the boy muttered out with a suspicious look. "By the darkness," he added with a trailing off tone. That must be why he decided to attack Piccolo first! From what Goku had learned, from his experience with the shadowy possession, the darkness only seems interested in controlling or killing the Nameks. It's their whole objective, to destroy and conquer the planet Namek. And, it all hit the young warrior as he stood there, watching on. Then, the fight started to take a turn to the more serious. The giant creature spat forth an acidic, green slime ball that splashed on to the fast moving Namekian. At first, it appeared to be nothing more than vomit, but after a second or two, the green substance reacted with the darker green skin and started to sizzle. Goku clenched his jaw muscles tight and started in on the spider, but something else was abruptly learned that halted his intervention. Suddenly, Piccolo ripped of the burning half of his arm and non-nonchalantly discarded the separated limb as if it was expendable. Junior winced at the sight, but became intrigued as he watched his green skinned ally created a diversion and slipped out of the monsters path. Goku was amazed by his friends toughness and brains and down right determination. It only confirmed his question about whether or not the native should join him in his quest. But, after the display that he just witnessed, the partnership was more than confirmed. Snapping out of his daze, Goku smiled and hovered high into the air. As quickly as it came, the smile instantly disappeared and fashioned a seriousness about his face. With a quick flare up of his ki, Junior blasted off toward the ground with his fist rared back and ready to strike. His friend Piccolo had done well so far, and since he was missing one arm now, Goku only thought it fitting and proper to lend a hand to his companion whether he needed it or not. "Hey ugly!" Yelled Goku as he drew in closer and launched to ki covered fist right to the enormous arachnid's abdomen. The punch would surely do some damage and turn the focus entirely to the Half-Saiyan kid for a moment. WC: 491 |

Goku's ki filled fist made direct contact with the beast, after all it was entirely focused on Piccolo and didn't even notice the boy. Goku's punch sent the arachnid flying into some trees some 30 meters away. "you okay Piccolo?" Goku said a little concerned. "Heh, yeah this is nothing," Piccolo said as he began to yell, "HAH!" and following his yell a fresh new arm came shooting out of his body looking good as new. "Regeneration cells, gotta love it," Piccolo said with a smirk at Goku's jaw-dropped face. "GWAAAAHHHH!" yelled the arachnid now angrier than ever, breaking free from the ruble that Goku had forced him into. "What do you say we finish this monster Goku?" Piccolo said. "I couldn't agree more!" Goku replied. They both powered up a bit as the creature began rushing them with it's eyes redder than ever and blood oozing out of it's wound that Goku had given him. In unison both warriors gave a shout, "HAH!" and two large ki blast shot out of their arms and made direct contact with the beast blowing him to smithereens. Goku and Piccolo quickly dodged the creatures body parts as it scattered through the forest burning anything it touched. Goku and Piccolo powered down and landed back to the ground where they sat down to rest a bit. "Hey Goku," Piccolo said, "Was it just me, or was there somethig weird about that spider other than the fact that it was abnormally huge, even for our planet." WC: 251 |

Goku landed on the ground, right beside his Namekian friend. Pit, pat, one foot landing directly after the other. He stayed still for a moment, long enough for Piccolo to strike up a question. "Hey Goku," Piccolo said, "Was it just me, or was there something weird about that spider other than the fact that it was abnormally huge, even for our planet." Junior shook his head, but continued his focused stare into the ground. "No, there was definitely something wrong," he muttered, in a monotone voice. "He was possessed... by the darkness. That only means one thing..." "Daifu," Piccolo sharply interjected. Goku shook his head to agree, "yeah, he's back." A sad feeling crept up in the young warrior’s gut, a feeling that he only recalled one time before--it was when he first encountered the Dark Lord Daifu. A long and awkward silence pursued Junior’s short comment, but being in deep thought, as he was, it didn’t seem so. But, when Piccolo spoke up with another comment, Goku quickly shook his head and regained his focus. “So what do we do,” asked the tall, green ally with a raised eyebrow. “Do we wait, or do we go after him?” Junior slowly walked back over dim lit fire and plopped down, crossed legged. “We wait,” he said, then reached to his side and added a couple of logs to the smoldering pile of coals. It was obvious that his mind was heavy with thought, and for the first time ever, the young, always brave, Saiyan boy, seemed to be a bit worried about Daifu’s arrival. He remembered the raw power of the Dark Lord’s ghostly apparition that so easily thwarted him like a pestilent fly. He’d never faced anything so powerful in his life. Nothing had ever blown him a side, like a thin slice of paper, and restrained him with an invisible force. He literally couldn’t move. And, to think that that was all done by the demon’s mind, and in his weakest state too. Goku could only shiver at the thought of the pumped up, long drawn, power that the Dark Lord had been summoning up until this very day. Piccolo, who casually strolled over while the child Saiyan was thinking, narrowed his eyes at the still un lit fire and shot small ki orb right into the center of the smoky plot. It was the second time that the Namekian had sparked up the fire in such a way, but it wasn’t because that Junior couldn’t, it was basically because of the youngsters distraction of thought. The distraction of thought though, was not a normal character trait of the young warrior. Sure his mind was always rambling about in several directions all at once, but his mouth was always moving at the same time. In fact, most of the time he often said too much with that mouth; the same mouth that tended to attract trouble or slip secrets. The reason he was so caught up in his thoughts was not because of choice, but because he had to. Inside of his mind and his body, there was a vicious and chronic battle for his soul taking place. Daily torment and pain ailed him all day long and even in his sleep. He was restless and always tired lately and seemed to grow more ill in his temperament and tolerance of things. He could feel the evil boiling inside of him, trying to take control of every fiber in his body, trying to defeat him because it knew that he could stop the darkness. Suddenly the Saiyan hero stood boldly to his feet and looked to his Namekian companion. “Screw that,” Junior exclaimed, with furrowed eyebrows wrinkling his forehead, “I’m going to find him. I’m not waiting anymore! I’ve got to defeat this darkness! You coming?” Goku didn’t wait for an answer from his ally. He was almost certain that he would come. Taking to the skies, Goku Junior closed his eyes and let his sensing ability take over. After a second or two, he was able to lock onto the strongest power on the planet, but it was surprisingly not as strong and he would have thought. None the less, he flared up his ki, which instantly engulfed his entire body, and rocketed off, letting his senses lead the way. WC: 724 |

As Piccolo attempted to discuss just who there were up against with Goku Jr. he could tell Goku was trouble, maybe even confused. Goku decided it would be best to wait and see what Daifu would do but again, Goku seemed troubled and perhaps he wasn't thinking clearly because before they could even formulate a plan or sit down to relax he had switched his mind. You coming?” With that the young warrior rocketed up into the sky, "Tsh! Like hell I'm gonna let you have all the fun!" Piccolo yelled partly to lighten the mood of things because even Piccolo knew this battle wouldn't be like anything he had ever faced before. He quickly followed Goku, doing his best to keep up all the while wondering what would happen to his planet if they failed. This thinking began to raise some doubts in Piccolo'c mind if he should even be doing this. Piccolo quickly regained his composure and convinced himself he had nothing to worry about, after all he had been training with Guru and had just about doubled his strength since he started his training. As the two warriors continued to soar Piccolo spoke up, "Hey Goku, this Daifu guy, you've fought him before right? Just how strong is he?" Piccolo partly asked this from concern but he was really avoiding the question he really wanted to ask. The question about how Daifu was able to control other Namekians and if he could really do that wouldn't Piccolo just be a burden? He had to trust his comrade, since Goku had faced this enemy before I'm sure he wouldn't let Piccolo fight if he thought he would be a burden. WC: 325 |

Goku stopped abruptly in mid flight, letting Piccolo zoom right past him. The tall green Namekian didn't travel too far though before he too haulted just as abruptly as the young Saiyan did and turned to face his ally with a puzzled look. "Why are stopping," he asked insecurely. Junior kept a humble smile upon his face as he stared into the eyes of his friend. "You're right. Don't take this the wrong way and all, but you would probably just get in the way." The olive fighter wrinkled his brows and started to speak up, but only a grunt was able to slip from his lips before Goku cutt him off. "I know, I know," said the child with a smile and flailing arms, "I said that you should come earlier, but now that I've calmed down enough to think clearly, I think that it would be best if you help me in another way than on the battle field." "What do you mean?" The green warrior seemed to only become even more confused after the little Saiyans remark. "But, how can I help if I'm not even on the battle field? Explain please." Goku crossed his arms and then raise one finger up to his chin. "I am going to trust you to gather up all of the dragonballs and summon the eternal dragon for me. Do you think you can handle that?" "Summon Parunga?!?" Said the Namekian as he jerked back from shock. "You want me to summon the Eternal Dragon Parunga?" Slowly a familiar smile crept up on his green face as the shock wore off. "Of coarse I will! I've always wanted to meet him!" "Great!" Junior exclaimed as he jumped with joy. The two companions looked like two excited children on Christmas day at that moment of excitement. Though he was utterly happy, still in the back of his mind he wasn't completely sure of his lent trust. He had strived so hard for the precious golden balls. He'd even killed someone for the mystical things. Could he really just hand them over and trust his new Namekian friend with such a task? Something inside told him, yes. His heart perhaps? The feeling seemed to be more around the stomach area, but it was warm and soothing and felt like hot chocolate partying in his tummy. He'd felt that good feeling since the day that he met Piccolo. He was sure his decision was the right one. As the two settled down, the air around them got more serious by the second, for there really could be a second to spare. Not with Daifu, all powerfull and on the loose. "Okay, now listen closely," Goku said. Piccolo simply nodded with a straight face. "Alright, at the camp spot, where we fought that ugly beast of a spider, I have burrired the dragonballs in the midst of three palms that are setup to make a perfect triangle. You can't miss them!" Piccolo interjected prematurely and asked, "should I do it right there? Should I summon Parunga at the camp spot?" "Yeah," replied Goku sharply. "But not at first. I want you to wait and wait. I need you to feel out the battle and wait for the perfect time to summon him. I want you to sense my life force and when you feel it down, on the very last fiber of life, then you can call him out. Understand" "Yeah, but what do I wish for," he asked, scratching his bald noggin. "Right, I almost forgot. I want you to ask the dragon restore my full power and give me the temporary power to defeat the Dark Lord." "Ahh, simple enough. I will do this for you my friend." Piccolo smiled and flared up his aura around his entire body. "Well, I should probably get going and leave you on your way. Good luck Goku" "Thank you and goodbye," said the Saiyan child with a humble smile. "This will probably be the last time that I see you. After this battle, if I survive, I'm going to the planet of my ancesters, Planet Vegeta. It's been fun hanging out with you. Keep the good work and take care of this planet. I leave its protection to you now." "I will Goku and thank you for all that you have taught me. I will go now. Goodbye my friend." With that, the green warrior, Piccolo took off and didn't look back. Goku stayed still and watched his friend depart until he could no longer be seen on the gray horizon. Goku let out a small sigh of relief, and maybe mixed with a bit of anxiety, and then forced his ki to explode and swirl wildly around his body. Just as that happened, a shower of smoldering ash rained down from above and soon fill the entire sky as if it was snowing. Without wasting another second hovering, the young Saiyan fight blasted off toward the dasterdly foe, Daifu. WC: 834 |
