Osiris was laying on greenish blue grass staring up at the sky through the roof of the enormous green house. Sweat covered his skin and soaked his weighted clothing. The Capsule Corp. blade was still clutched in his left hand. The blade he had won from the wraith was leaning against a tree so far unused. Farren laid nearby sleeping comfortably on a rock warmed by the dual suns in the sky. Osiris was lost in thought concerning the Saoirsen. That’s it I can’t keep laying around here like this. I have to find out what is up with that zweihander. It doesn’t feel evil when I hold it. Still, I have enough problems to deal with without having a sword that thinks for itself. With a grunt he got up and walked over to the tree the zweihander was leaning against. Twisting the Capsule Corp. insignia on the blade he was already practicing with, it burst into a cloud of smoke and then reverted to its capsule form. Farren opened an eye and watched him bend down and pick up the two handed blade. Osiris grabbed the hilt with his left hand and watched the silver markings on his forearm start to glow. Slowly the blade came unsheathed, inch by inch. The metal was pure white just as it was when Osiris first found it. The blade curved back and forth making it look like a moving snake. Dropping the sheath he ran his fingertips over the runes etched into the flawless metal. Gripping the hilt with both hands Osiris took a comfortable stance. His arms began to move through the basic movements he had learned from an old book Kenel had found. Osiris could feel a presence start to guide his hands and feet like the words of a friendly master. Soon he was slashing, stabbing, diving, spinning, deflecting, and jumping in all different directions. Sweat sprayed off his body in the frenzy of the movement. Finally he came to a stop just before the boulder Farren was lying on. “Move, please.” This was it. Osiris was going to test the blade's true strength. His muscles tightened and he began to force ki into them. The familiar glow of purple illuminated his body. To his surprise the runes along the blade began to glow the same purple as his aura. Slowly the color seeped into the white metal. Even the diamond at the hilt seemed to turn to amethyst in the presence of is energy. A roar ripped from his throat as the zweihander came around hit the stone and sliced the top of it clean off leaving a flat top. This blade is incredible! Word Count: 452 |

Clapping startled him and he turned to find a small crowd of spectators had gathered in the green house. Kenel and a few of her friends Osiris had meant in passing were smiling and cheering as though he had done something for their amusement. Calmly he walked back to his starting place and sheathed his blade as it slowly turned back to its pure white. Returning his attention to the small group he noticed two things. One, they were all girls, and two they were looking at him with eager smiles like they had something planned. “Hey, ummm, Osiris have you already gone to check on your friends today?” Osiris eyed her trying to find the hidden intent behind the question, “Yeah, I left the city before dawn so no one would see me leave. Why do you ask?” Five girls then surrounded him and start to half push and half drag him out of the enormous green house. “Great then you are going to the dance with us tonight!” “Hey, what, I never agreed to this. What dance are you even talking about? Where are you taking me?” Osiris didn’t try to shake any of the girls off of his arms. He was slightly worried that if he tried he might send them flying. “My dad is throwing a huge ball for later today when the moon and both suns are in alignment. Tons of people are coming from all over to see it. So he figured he would make it a proper event,” a certain amount of glee filled her voice. Another girl from the group answered Osiris’ second question, “As for where we are taking you, that would be a shower. You are all sweaty and your hair is a mess! After that gets fixed we are going to get you an outfit picked out. The seamstress already fitted some clothing to your measurements. All we have to do is find the right look for you.” Osiris was grudgingly whisked away to his room and the attached bathroom so he could shower. When he came back out several outfits lay strewn about his bed. The girls waited in the study also connected to his room so that they could pass judgment on each outfit. Half an hour of continuously dressing and redressing finally left him in grey silken dress pants and shirt with a black button up vest. The collar was rather large and came halfway up his neck. His shoes were well polished black leather and finally a strange little hat called a fedora was placed on his head. Apparently he looked like a well to do earthling, considering how weak most earthlings were, it didn’t seem like a great compliment. Can’t believe I am wasting my time on this. I could be training more, yet i am getting dragged into going to some frivolous gathering with a bunch of people I don’t know or even care about. Not like I can refuse though. I am a guest here after all. Word Count: 510 Total Count: 962 |

It wasn’t long before Osiris found himself in a room with hard wood floors polished to a shine and a high ceiling that showed the sky with the eclipse drawing near. He stood amongst the group of women that had lured him into going to this high class event. His eyes slowly scanned back and forth taking in all the exotic dressings of the other guests and the fanciful stepping they did with one another. It was then he realized how much his dark sleek clothing stood out against the colorful surroundings. Young men began to walk up to their group and ask the girls to dance. In turn each one but Kenel eventually accepted one of the suitors as a dance partner. Instead she kept glancing expectantly at Osiris. “Oh, you don’t know how to dance do you?” She turned to him with an excited face as though she had just solved a puzzle. Osiris shrugged his shoulders not wanting to admit he had already learned several of the dances just by watching. “That’s fine, I can teach you. Come on!” The tall blue haired woman grabbed his wrist and led him to the dance floor. Several minutes later Osiris had already mastered the first dance he was shown. He found the movements slow and tedious compared to those used in martial arts. Still, it was much better than doing nothing and it kept the conversation to a minimum. By the end of the hour everyone on the dance floor had made a ring around the two partners. It had become a game to shout out your favorite or most complex dance to see if Osiris could learn it with as much ease as he had the others. Kenel was plainly a master at this craft. She led him through every motion with a level of grace that few of the other guests possessed. Still, after so many complicated dances they moved through her stamina began to fade. Stepping back from the last dance, which had required Osiris to pick her up and throw here several times, it was evident she needed a break. Osiris spoke up so she wouldn’t have to, “Thank you for all your suggestion, but I think we need a break.” As the audience clapped their approval Henex made his way to the middle of the circle. “Good, perfect timing. In a few moments the alignment will be completed and we will have witnessed what has not been seen in over 5,000 years. Let the countdown begin!” Osiris stood off to the side with his taller dance partner as everyone began the countdown. “How did you learn all that stuff so quickly? A broad grin covered her face and her skin was glistening. He shrugged at Kenel, “I don’t know. I have always been able to pick things up quickly. Taught myself many more complicated movements in martial arts than what you just showed me. Osiris raised his head to look up at the moon and suns. The guests of the ball spoke in unison, “ Five, Four, Three, Two, ONE!” The moon set in front of the two suns. It almost looked as if the moon was wearing two crowns, one of a golden yellow, and an even larger one of a bright orange-red. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and everyone’s face was lifted skyward letting the unique mixture of light paint their faces golden-red. A slight tremor shook the building gently. Everyone one was silent for a moment, but then they started laughing. Earthquakes were common on Cauldron so it was only fitting one would mark this rare occasion. Another tremor shook the room to witch no one concerned themselves and instead made their way back to dancing under the light of the eclipse. Something isn’t right. These don’t feel normal. People began dancing again even with the tremors. For them it was a great source of amusement so long as they were in a building well protected from any earthquake's destructive force. Osiris walked away from everyone moving towards the doorway. “Hey, where are you going? Kenel was walking next to him with a disappointed look. “I am going to go find out what is causing all these tremors. They don’t feel natural. The room shook once more. “Come on, relax for a change. It probably just feels different because you aren’t use to being in such a tall building. Please stay. Osiris just kept walking, he knew something was off. “Please stay with me Osiris." Kenel laid a gentle hand on his shoulder that brought him to a halt. Osiris stood there feeling awkward for a moment. Several emotions seemed to surface all at once. He shut his eyes, took a deep breath, and then strangled each and every one of them. There was no time to feel angry someone was trying to hold him back, no time to feel the warmth of another person’s touch, and no time to feel attached. “I know what I felt,” his voice was cold and listless. A sweaty servant burst through the door with a scared look on his face. “The city is under attack!” Everyone on the dance floor stopped. Henex walked over to the wall and flipped a switch. A large screen came out of the wall and turned on. Whispers rippled through the audience as the news showed the military outpost on the planet come to life. Well trained warriors flew out of the several buildings heading towards the northern shipping district. The reporter’s words were rushing out of his mouth as he tried to explain some of the descriptions of the monster supposedly attacking the city. Osiris pulled a capsule from his pocket and clicked the top. His sword came out immediately in a puff of smoke. Turning his back on the television he began walking out the door. The sound of the capsule opening attracted everyone’s attention. Henex spoke to him from across the room, “Where are you going Osiris? The military has things under control, let them handle this. Stay, there is no reason for you to get yourself involved. “I am not the type of person to sit around and let others protect me. Maybe you all can stay here and continue your merriment, but I will not. I’m sorry, but I don’t belong here, this place is for the rich and high classed. Never have I been either of those things. I am a fighter and that’s what I am going to go do,” his voice was very matter of fact. Resting his blade on his left shoulder he walked out the door and found his way out to the street. He could see smoke clouds rise to the north making their way to the giant dome that was the main shipping dock for the entire planet. If that creature got into the dome it would kill the thousands of people that work there day and night. Word Count: 531 Total Count: 2,143 |

Sprinting across the city Osiris felt Farren reach out to his mind, “I saw on one of those screens the servants watch that the city is under attack. Are we going to get involved?” Osiris climbed up the side of a building to gain high ground. Looking out over the city he was still too far away to see any sign of the rampaging monster. Of course we are getting involved Farren. You should be fast enough to catch up in a few minutes. Bring my gear with you. These clothes are only getting in my way.” Turning his attention back to the rubble clouds Osiris started leaping from one roof top to another. He estimated it would still be another five miles to the actual battle field. As he leapt over the streets he noticed that people were flooding out of the buildings and making their way south. An evacuation order must have already been given. This may be slightly more serious than I thought. Got to move faster Osiris! The soft padding of his feet on the concrete roofs steadily increased both in speed and volume. Several minutes later he felt the familiar presence of Farren not far behind him. Looking down from the 20 story building, Osiris could see the fiery hound approaching at street level. With a slight hop he jumped off the rooftop and dropped out of the sky. Slamming into the ground feet first Osiris could feel the seams of the fancy leather shoe burst and rip under the strain. “A shit, I’m never going to hear the end of this from Kenel. Thanks for bringing my stuff.” Osiris grabbed the backpack out from between Farren’s jaws and began changing clothes rapidly. The fiery hound’s nose sniffed at the air, “Smells like blood and-hmmm, I have never smelled something like that before. It’s disgusting, almost unnatural.” Farren brushed Osiris’ consciousness transferring the scent to him. Osiris’ eyes watered like mad and his stomach turned over threatening to reintroduce him to dinner. Pushing the scent out of his mind he gasped for fresh air, “Why the hell would you share something so rancid with me? I can breathe in volcanic ash clouds and that was still disgusting to me. Is that seriously what that thing smells like?” Farren started trotting forward at Osiris’ side, “The monster is the only thing that makes sense. Nothing around this city smells that nasty, even if a sewer pipe broke it wouldn’t smell that bad. I’ve been on this planet for over a century and this kind of sent has never been around. Which means either this thing is not from this world, it was just born somehow, or it is older than even me and has been hiding.” “It doesn’t matter where it came from. The only thing that matters is stopping it. Let’s get up on top of the buildings. That should give us a chance to scout out this thing before we get close enough for it to attack us. Let’s move,” Osiris was already thinking out several strategies. Taking back to the roofs they swiftly covered the last mile and a half without much effort. Standing atop a thirty story building Osiris swept his eyes over a rubble filled area trying to find the source of the foul stench that he could smell now with his own senses. Three buildings had already been torn down in the melee. The flash of a ki blast caught his attention. Several men wearing military uniforms were bombarding a street with their energy attacks, but the creature's body was blocked from view. A blood curdling screech ripped through the air so intensely it seemed ear drums would burst. Tentacles flailed through the air grabbing two of the soldiers and forcing the other twelve away. Crouching down Osiris gripped the edge of the roof he was on and concentrated on how far the soldiers were. They were just barely out of his range, but he could make it to the building in front of them. Leaning his weight back he loaded up his legs and fully extended his arms. In one smooth motion he pushed off with his legs and pulled with his arms propelling himself forward. Concrete exploded behind him as Osiris sailed through the air at astounding speed. It may have not been flying but it would get him to where he needed to go. Tucking his head Osiris landed shoulder first dropping into a roll that carried him halfway across the building. Still in motion he stepped out of the roll into a full sprint. Without hesitating he dove off the building towards the trapped solider. The strange eclipse light gleamed off the well polished Capsule Corp. sword as it slashed through the air. Greenish brown blood squirted from a severed tentacle and covered the blade from tip to hilt including Osiris’ left hand. Reaching out for the soldier he grabbed the man’s shirt, spun, and threw the man in the direction Osiris had come from. The maneuver cost him considerable velocity and the structure that should have been sitting on the opposite side of the monster was already reduced to rubble. There was nothing he could do but brace for a rough landing. While he fell towards the earth it was like time slowed down. The creature standing in the street was horrifying to look at. It stood on four knurled claws and had an extra arm erupting from its front right shoulder. An oddly forked tail whipped around wildly. Tentacles and spines covered the back in a terrifying array of weaponry. The head extended away from the body on a long neck, except it really wasn’t much of a head. It was more like the neck merely ended in a great maw with two beady eyes that just happened to be sitting nearby. Huge teeth lined that maw, dwarfing even the sword in Osiris’ own hand. Even more intimidating were the two scythe like limbs that sat on either side of the creature’s head. Overall it was hairless with grey skin that was covered in a slime that made it glisten a pale orange in the light of the eclipse. A tentacle holding the other soldier swiftly brought the flailing man towards the gapping maw. Osiris watched helplessly as the monster cut the man in two with a slight snap of the jaws. Sickening sounds of bones being crushed filled his ears. Gripping the hilt of his sword with anger Osiris forced himself to watch the man being devoured. I can’t be weak like him. I can’t fail like him! Only two types of people survive. The strong and those protected by the strong.I choose to be strong! Osiris slammed into the ground leaving a small crater around his body. Pushing himself up out of the debris covering him Osiris screamed, “You won’t get such an easy me out of me!” He started running across the debris field towards the giant monstrosity. The creature’s claws alone dwarfed him in stature but that didn’t matter. He was much more maneuverable and he had the advantage of being able to reason. At least he hoped that was an advantage he didn't share with the creature. Word Count: 574 Total Count: 3,359 |

Farren must have seen his approach as a great plume of fire descended off a tall building towards the pale grey creature. Trying to avoid the blaze it lowered itself towards the ground. Clearing the rubble field Osiris got underneath the preoccupied creature. Another blood curdling screech sounded as Osiris stabbed upwards into the beast’s belly and ran with the blade over his head. Greenish-brown gore poured down like a befouled waterfall. The urge to vomit almost overwhelmed the half breed, but he wasn’t given enough time to consider how disgusting his situation actually was. A tentacle slammed into the side of Osiris like two tons of bricks. The blow sent him skimming along like the ground like a rock skipping across the surface of a smooth lake. Osiris hit something and heard a grunt, except it wasn’t him. Looking up and over his shoulder he saw one of the Keliouxian soldiers gripping his shoulders. ”You smell god awful kid. I would say you got guts, but that would be an understatement with nasty crap on you. Where did you learn to move like that son?” Shifting his weight the half breed got up on his own two feet and started wiping some of the rancid blood of his clothes. The smell made it almost unbearable to breath. “That doesn’t matter right now. I just did some real damage to that thing. If you and however many men you have left can distract that thing for a little bit longer I can bring it down. Don’t worry about the weird fiery creature either he is with me.” The man grabbed Osiris’ arm before he could turn away. “Listen to me kid, that thing will have healed in a few minutes and it will be like you never did a thing. We know the black wolf beast is with you. The other problem is me and the guy you saved are the only ones left. My other men fled or have already been eaten. We need to get ahead of this thing and help evacuate the main hub.” Osiris stared the man in the eyes, “No, we stay and fight. That’s what we are, fighters. If that thing does take a few minutes to regenerate then we just need to hit it somewhere vital. You and your man can fly. Stay high and keep pressure on it with your ki blasts. Make it think you are going after its legs. The thundering sound of a building being smashed apart made Osiris snap around. The gray creature had started assaulting the building Farren was using as his tower to avoid the flailing appendages. A deep rumble shook the ground as one of the support columns for the structure was destroyed, leading to a total collapse. Farren, Farren are you okay? Where are you? The familiar grumble of Farren’s voice resonated in his mind, “Yes we are fine. The man you threw into the lower levels of the building regained consciousness and joined me on the roof. Right now we are in the air coming your way. What’s the game plan? Your attack didn’t seem to slow it down too much.” A thin ragged looking soldier touched down on the ground next to Osiris. Farren slid off his back onto the ground much smaller than he normally was. As Osiris spoke Farren glowed with effort as he returned to his hulking stature. “Now like I said before you three need to keep that thing distracted long enough for me to hit something vital. I will go for its throat first. If I can I will just decapitate the damn thing, don’t bank on it though. Remember aim for the legs, that way it won’t be expecting an attack to its head.” Osiris turned back to the creature as it continued to destroy any remnant of the building that might have kept the vague shape of what it once was. Osiris took off behind the creature planning to try to take out some leg tendons. Farren turned heading towards the front left leg with the intention of burning it to a crisp. The two soldiers however stood stuck in place. Neither one was sure what to do. “Ummm, captain what should we do? Those two are suicidal. There is no way we could kill this thing. We need to get out of here and come back with reinforcements!” The older captain scowled remembering Osiris’ words from before. “ No, we stay and fight. Even if we die the longer we keep it here the longer people will have to evacuate. I know you don’t want to die soldier, but this is what we signed up for. What happens to us really doesn’t matter so long as the people are safe. That’s our duty now let’s move.” Both soldiers lifted into the air gaining altitude quickly. The younger soldier gave a slight sigh of resignation. Looking over the captain gave him a slap on the shoulder and a quick nod. Both powered up and then began to dive back down to earth. The extra speed would give their ki attacks a better impact. All four of the attackers converged in a single moment. Explosions pounded the gray monster’s right shoulder, flame engulfed its left leg, and sword sliced through skin and muscles on the hind legs. For a moment the creature collapsed under the combined assault. This didn’t stop the other limbs from working though. Most of the tentacles reached up towards the two soldiers in the sky. A few appendages on the side though went after Farren along with the giant maw. A huge gray tail attempted to crush Osiris under its massive weight. Each one of the group took off in a different direction. Osiris dove under the tail as it swept over the ground. Rolling he turned waiting for the muscular appendage to come swinging back. He used the combined force of his own attack and the creature’s tail swipe to enhance his swords cutting power. As the tail meant steel there was a wet splashing sound followed by a great crash and the noise of shifting debris. Osiris had gotten lucky and was able to slice through the cartilage that connected two vertebras. Word Count: 387 Total Count: 4,405 |

It would seem the roles had reversed. As the monster howled in anger and pain from its severed tail, Farren and the two soldiers poured their combined energy into blasting the creature’s skull. In the midst of thrashing around trying to avoid the punishment the monstrosity got back to its feet after apparently healing. Lifting itself up the creature reached out with its extra arm and grabbed the captain. The soldiers had flown to low in their attempt to deal a death blow. “Ahhh, damn it! I told them I would kill the beast. No one freaking listens!” Sprinting underneath the creature Osiris was trying to reach its head before it devoured the older solider. While running in the dark shadows he noticed a scar across the monster’s stomach where he had slashed it. That proved his idea that it wasn’t perfect regeneration. The development of scar tissue meant all the vital places were just as vulnerable as any other being’s. Bursting out just under the creature’s chest Osiris saw the captain struggling to free himself as a fanged maw approached. Leaping with great effort Osiris sped towards the claw clutching the older soldier. Rolling he planted his feet on the clasped fist. The fanged mouth was ten feet and closing. Pushing off Osiris extended his arms holding the glinting blade out in front of him. The blade plunged into the roof of the creature’s maw. Unfortunately Osiris’ momentum carried him right into the fangs. Three of them pierced his flesh, two sunk into his chest only barely stopping at his breast bone and the other ripping into his shoulder so far it dislocated. Curling his abs Osiris got his foot up onto the pommel of the Capsule Corp. blade. Pushing he dislodged himself and pressed the sword deeper into the monster’s skull. He fell like a rock out of the sky. Everything around him was blurred except for the alignment in the sky. The double eclipse was in perfect focus like nothing else in the world mattered. The scene suddenly shifted and instead of looking at the sky he was now being dragged along the ground. Farren had caught him mid air by the back of his weighted shirt. Now he was franticly running trying to get clear of the falling creature without trampling or dropping his friend. Hundreds of tons of flesh and bone slammed onto Cauldron’s hard surface sending out a slight shockwave that lifted the two fleeing friends into the air and then dropped them in a haphazard tumble. Osiris laid there face first on the ground choking on the dust. His body wouldn’t respond to his commands. Finally someone flipped him over. Osiris had been expecting one of the soldiers but instead it was Kristy, the woman he had met at the bar. Her blue eyes were staring into his, “Hey, you look a little beat up. Don’t be so surprised to see me. I’m not the kind of girl to just sit around and wait for things to happen. Helana and I saw you this morning checking up on everyone. So, we figured maybe you needed someone to come check up on you, looks like we are right.” Osiris felt the familiar weight of the Capsule Corp sword laid in his hand. “Thought you might want your sword back, I saw you with it this morning. We need to get you somewhere you can rest. You really did a number on yourself this time.” Helana turned her attention towards someone behind her, “Hey where can we take him, we can only control the bleeding so much.” Looking back up at the eclipse Osiris had a funny thought wash over him. The moon is like Kristy, dark and unknown yet she affects things in subtle ways. Kenel was like the yellow sun, bright and intense but always showing new possibilities. Helana was like the red sun, her light is softer and at the same time still strong. I wonder if they would make a good team working together? Odd I haven’t thought about it before. They all seemed to get along okay after that whole ordeal with releasing Farren from that cube. Maybe my plans will have to be adjusted slightly. Word Count: 710 Total Count: 5,115 |

Osiris stayed conscious as several people picked him up and loaded him onto a vehicle. He kept trying to figure out why he couldn’t move his body. Sure, his shoulder hurt like hell and he was losing some blood, but that wouldn’t explain it. His legs should still work and so should his left arm. It was like being trapped inside his own body. When they picked him up Osiris couldn’t even hold on to his Capsule Corp. sword. He tried to listen to what people were saying but it sounded like there was a rushing river inside his head. A numb tingling sensation started to spread out from his chest making it harder and harder to breath. His vision blurred to the point that he could barely distinguish shapes. Osiris could feel his heart slowing down. Something in the monster’s anatomy had been venomous. An older man wearing a white lab coat was next to Osiris smacking him in the face lightly while trying to say something. It looked like he was trying to ask a question, but there was no way to tell what he was saying? The harder Osiris tried to focus the more reality seemed to slip away. Finally the blurred image of the gray haired man faded away. Instead of lying inside of a ship Osiris was sitting on a tree branch overlooking green hills. The sky was bright like it was daylight, yet there was no sun to be seen. A blazing crimson figure was walking up the hill towards the tree. The grass at its feet burned and wilted away. Osiris could already tell this wasn’t going to be a friendly visit. Jumping out of the tree he pulled his Capsule Corp. sword from its sheath on his belt. “What do you want today? And seriously you need a name.” “Fine, if you are so concerned about our name we will be called Myriad. That seems appropriate. Now, we are here to take control. You are dying and the only way you are going to survive this is if we posses your body. We can make it stronger, strong enough to be rid of this accursed poison.” Osiris narrowed his eyes, “No, what would be the point of saving my body if I am not the one in control? Plus, I don’t intend on dying just yet. There are people taking care of me that won’t let that happen. You are just trying to manipulate me. Leave, now.” The crimson figure lunged at him with an arm shaped like a blade. Osiris parried with his sword only to be grabbed around his throat by a burning hand. Oddly though, it didn’t feel like a flame was touching him. “You will suffer for you insolence!” Suddenly it felt like needles were stabbing into his neck, ripping at muscle and veins. Choking and sputtering on his own words Osiris gave a slight smirk, “Neat tr-trick, b-bet I ca-can do the sss-ame.” Osiris grabbed Myriad’s head and used condensed ki to form needles. Bright flashes of purple lines shot through the crimson flames that made up the strange being's head .A disruption rippled through the flaming body forcing it to lose its humanoid form. The grasp around Osiris’ neck gave away as Myriad flew back in anguish. The being separated back into shadowy black figures that dispersed in all different directions. Osiris jolted awake coughing up blood. A gray bearded man with a serious face walked over to the bed he was lying on. “That’s odd. I didn’t notice any damage to your throat or lungs before. Just relax Osiris, you’re safe. You are at the military base, this is our medical ward. I made all your friends to get some rest once we got you stabilized. That was a pretty nasty neurotoxin you had in your system, never seen an animal over five hundred pounds carry such a deadly toxin. We kept it at bay with some general antidotes long enough to synthesize a specific remedy for you. You’re just lucky this facility was designed with the local, mostly unknown wildlife in mind.” The man in the white lab coat turned his attention to a small screen with several different things on it. He pushed a few buttons and looked back down at Osiris, “Well, it worries me you have an injury I wasn’t aware of. Still, the scans don’t show any serious damage. May have just been some stress reaction. I’m going to give you a very mild sedative that should put you in a deep dreamless sleep. Last thing I want is you thrashing around.” Osiris nodded his head and felt drowsiness wash over him. As his eyes shut he heard the doctor’s footsteps walking away from him. Finally, this day was way too long. Tomorrow is going to require a lot of thinking though. I might have some military contacts if I play my cards right. On the other hand if this gets out too much I am going to have way more difficulty hiding from the criminal syndicates. Definitely going to be another interesting day when I wake up. Sometimes I wish my life was boring. Word Count: 302 Final Count: 5, 973 |
