Osiris looked out at the room around him. Everything was tinted blue and was slightly blurry. Small bubbles floated around him and brushed against his skin. Once the doctor was convinced the anti-venom had done its job Osiris was transferred to a rejuvenation tank to speed up his healing. The battle with the nightmarish beast the day before had left him battered, bruised, and seriously poisoned. Thankfully, it would seem he had made some new friends inside the military. The medical ward on Cauldron’s sole military base was impressive. It was not huge, but it was well equipped to handle unknown threats, mainly from the wildlife. Just a few more minutes and his body would be back at full strength. “Well Mister Osiris, I have to say that you are an impressive young man. Most of our soldiers would have taken a week to recover from those kinds of wounds. Yet, here we are, twenty-six hours in the tank and you are ready for action. Anyway the captain wanted me to send you to his office once you were out of recovery. Would seem there are going to be many changes around here, but I will let you hear that from him. Anyway, I am going to start the draining processes now.” A slight whooshing noise could be heard as drains opened in the bottom of the pod. When the fluid had reached Osiris’ knees the mask lifted up and away from his face. The glass door popped open. Air from the room smelled like disinfectant and plastic. Osiris grabbed two towels, one to cover himself and the other to start drying his body. Farren was the only one waiting for him outside the medical ward. Osiris looked around curiously. “The man they call captain called them to his office. I was told to bring you after the medical officer was done healing you. He seemed very eager to talk with you, must be important,” Farren’s rumbling voice was drowsy. Osiris looked at him noticing the flame of his mane was not as tall as it normally was. “Hey are you okay? You seem exhausted. If your hurt you got to let me know so we can do something about it,” his voice was cool and calm, never betraying his worry. The two began to walk towards the building with a sign that read “Command Center” just above the entrance. “I am fine, never took a hit during the fight, unlike you. I am just tired from helping you heal. Probably didn’t even notice, but I was giving you some of my energy throughout the night. A little rest in the hot sun today and I will be fine. First, I want to see what this old military dog wants from us.” Osiris pulled the door open and walked into a dimly lit corridor, or at least it was before Farren walked in with his flaming mane. The oxen sized hound lead Osiris down the hallway making a only a single turn before coming to a corner office. Stepping in front of it the door slid into the wall rather than swinging open. There was a small, unoccupied assistant’s room buffering the captain’s office from the hallway. Osiris quickly crossed the small room and took the only available seat in front of the old soldier’s desk. Word Count: 559 Osiris Count: 559 Total Count: 559 |

The captain reached across his desk with an extended hand, “I am glad you are hear Osiris. My name is Javier; we have a lot to talk about.” Gripping the man’s hand sternly he stared into his brown eyes searching for weakness. “I would image you do considering your compound is like a ghost town right now. How many men do you have left exactly?” Osiris was ruthlessly to the point. Time was not a commodity he would waste. Both Kristy and Helana frowned at him for his bluntness, but he didn’t spare a glance to his left to check their reactions. “No beating around the bush then. I have eighteen men dead, seventeen men injured, twenty-four men under arrest for cowardice, and two men missing. That leaves me with twenty-one soldiers to handle things until reinforcements get here tomorrow. Most of them are out watching the perimeter around the creature’s body, the rest are watching those men placed under arrest or searching for those still missing. As things stand right now I am the acting commander since our Colonel is among the dead. The ladies and I have been speaking for some time now and they have explained Saoirse’s situation to me, though not their location.” Osiris rubbed his right hand on the hilt of his Capsule Corp. blade at his hip. “So, what is it you want then?” Javier sighed slightly before going on, “ I want an ally. I already have some friends on the police force willing to help me out. You see I want to be rid of the slave trading that goes on almost as much as you do. Unfortunately, as a member of the military it is rare I get the opportunity to enforce the law. Likewise the majority of the police force is corrupt and even if they made better attempts to arrest the head of the syndicates, people would start dying left and right.” He paused for a moment to let everything sink in before going on. “That being said, I can get information from my police contacts. Neither one of our groups seem to be able to act on it though. You would be.” “So let me get this straight, you want me to be your hit man? Don’t you have some other concerns with a good chuck of the city laid in rubble and a huge monster that no one knows anything about? Don’t get me wrong I like your game plan, but frankly I want to make sure another one of those gray monstrosities isn’t lurking around somewhere.” This was almost too good to be true. Osiris didn’t like how easy this was turning out. Was he still dreaming? “Essentially, yes. That is what it has come down to. You are one of the strongest individuals I have meant and you already have experience. As for the monster, we will keep it under guard until reinforcements show up. A group of scientists will be coming with them. There will be extensive research done, trust me. This proposal will not go into effect immediately. The next couple of days will be chaotic for me. Take your time to think about it.” Osiris didn’t move for a while letting silence fill the air. Finally he spoke, “I will do just that. In the mean time I have things to do. Kristy and Helana I want you to go with Farren to Henex’s place. They will want to know I am okay. Also I want you to look into possible sightings of this monster in the past with Kenel. She seems to be good with history.” Kristy tilted her head at Osiris, “What exactly are you going to go do?” Everyone in the room was looking at him. “I have some things I need to look into down at the docks. I need new gear and I’m pretty sure there is a guy that can help me with that. However, I want to get down there soon.” Osiris stood up to leave. Captain Javier stood up as well, “Hold on, I can spare an automated ship to take you all where you want to go. It won’t be a problem, the autopilots will automatically bring it back here after you get dropped off.” Kristy stood up and nodded her head towards Helana, “Sounds like a good deal to me.” Helana nodded her head in approval, but seemed to be lost in deep thought. Evey one exited the room making their way towards the hanger that housed their rides. Word Count 766 Osiris Count:1,325 Total Count: 1,325 |

Walking through the crowded docks Osiris was trying to find an old associate. He had been searching for almost an hour now without any luck, but he knew the little weasel would be around somewhere. Each time he moved to a new section of the shipping hub he asked the people there to point him in the right direction. Not unexpectedly no one was willing to give him the information he wanted. Eventually he caught sight of the short human in a dark shop. Osiris wasn’t going to give him the chance to run away. With great effort he disappeared and then reappeared inside the shop behind his victim. The large nosed man screamed and tried to jump over the counter to escape, but Osiris grabbed his shoulder and threw him back against the wall. “Where you going you little rat? You should know by now if I was going to kill you, you would be dead already. I let you keep your little smuggling enterprise because you are useful to me. Plus, you aren’t really all that dangerous. Anyway, listen up. I’m not here for information; I’m here as a customer. I need new gear, armor specifically. I am willing to pay good zeni for the best quality you can find.” Osiris leaned close to the human’s sweaty face, “Don’t fail me rat. My patience is running thin these days. How soon do you think you could get this done?” He backed away from the human knowing he would invariably have to go look at one of his records. “Right, right boss. Just let me look at my schedule. I think I already know just what you want, but it will be hard to get.” The little short man ran over to a shelf and took down a small digital reader and started thumbing through his planner. “Looks like four days at the best, and about a week at the worst to get that order in. I’ll get your armor in as quickly as possible. You’re my favorite customer after all boss.” The man pulled out a piece of cloth and wiped the sweat from his brow. “Of course I am. If it wasn’t for me you would be dead already. I trust you to get this done for me. Don’t make me regret it or I will be forced to make you wish I had just left you to those loan sharks. Oh and next time I come by to pay you a visit, don’t try to run. It is getting on my nerves.” Osiris turned and started walking out the dim shop. The nervous man spoke to Osiris’ back, “Sorry boss it’s a natural reaction. I won’t let you down though.” He watched as the cloaked figure walked out of the shop. “That guys not right in the head. I’ve met sociopaths less intimidating than him. On the other hand maybe he is one.” The human shook his head and went in the back of the store to start making arrangements. Walking back into the crowded walkway of the port Osiris made his way towards the center of the hub so he could cut across and get to the other side quicker. There was so much excitement and movement all around him. He paused for a moment and took a deep breath savoring the anonymity that came with being in such a large mixture of people. Something caught his eye to the right. An old woman with a moveable stand was sitting on a stool dozing. Two young boys walked up to the stand and started reaching to take one of the odd trinkets. Osiris walked up behind them, “You two should know better than to steal. If you want something you earn it. You will never become men taking things that aren’t rightfully yours! Now run along and don’t do anything foolish. Got it?” The kids ran off in a panic. His words seemed to have roused the old woman as she started to laugh. “I never guessed I would see a kindly demon in my day. I would say you have earned yourself one of my trinkets.” The woman smiled kindly at him. “Thank you ma’am, but I couldn’t. How did you know my race?” Osiris looked into the woman’s eyes and saw a great wisdom there, “You weren’t actually asleep were you?” The old woman chuckled again, “No, I wasn’t. I know many things young demon, call it a woman’s intuition. If you will not take any of my trinkets then take this map. It’s said to lead to a relic of the Lost Ones. Take it; no one will want to buy it anyway. Maybe you can find it. This way you will have to earn your reward, after all that’s what you said makes a man a man. Now be off with you.” The woman waved him away before he could say anything. Very confused Osiris walked over to the railing that divided the walkway from the landing zone. He eyed the map and instantly started to recognize some of the land marks. Considering searching for the supposed relic at the end of the map Osiris looked back where the cart was. To his surprise it was gone. Exasperated he tilted his head up to the flow of ships in and out of the dome through the eight entrances and exits. One specifically caught his eye. Across the side it read Capsule Corp. and had the same insignia as his sword. Curious he watched the ship descend and land on four mechanical legs not more than a hundred yards away. He watched the door of the ship extend to the ground and a figure step out. What the hell? Is that Zorn? Word Count: 458 Osiris Count: 2,292 Total Count: 2,292 |

Zorn had been traveling through space for an entire week, finally on the first leg of a long journey into the unknown for the young Saiyan warrior. He was in search of power, training, and skills. He was now approaching the atmosphere of his long awaited destination in the search of the one called Osiris, a young demon warrior who made his home on Cauldron. They had met in the sparring realm through the Gem of Telepathy, but Zorn wanted to meet the ambitious warrior man to man to see what he was really about. Zorn had spent his week training in his Gravitron aboard his Capsule Corp. Ship at 10x normal gravity. He was glad that his training had went so well, but was now eager to stretch his legs in search of Osiris on the planet Cauldron. His ship entered the atmosphere as fire poured around the rounded edges of the ship as it cut through the gases that composed the layer of atmosphere that contained the fiery planet. Once through the atmosphere, the automated controls of the ship were taken over by one of the numerous dock controllers that worked in the enormous trading port at Cauldron. It was the mainstay of life for Cauldron, or so he had read in the briefing the computer aboard his ship had given him. He also knew he would have to wear a breathing apparatus in the gaseous air of Cauldron. His ship was finally brought to a halt and landed on one of the thousands of platforms that made up the docks. Zorn looked out the window awaiting the door of his ship to open. What he saw shocked him. The hustle and bustle of this large port city dwarfed what he had become accustom to on Planet Vegeta. He didn't know where to begin. It seemed that it would be so easy to get lost or even to get killed and no one would even know or perhaps even care. This would be a challenge in and of itself. The door opened, Zorn wearing his breathing apparatus as he should, he walked down the ramp. One of the dock workers asked if his ship needed service and if he would be renting the dock during the entirety of his stay. Zorn declined and then proceeded to close up the ship in its capsule and placed it in his small travel bag. He then turned around and scanned the area about him, wondering where to start. He thought that he might be able to walk right past Osiris and never even know it. He should have made arrangements with him the last time they sparred. Zorn scanned the crowd and then did a double take as he looked back at a dark cloaked being leaning against a railing not more than a hundred yards away from the platform he had just landed on. Could it be? I'll be damned! It's him! It's Osiris. Zorn jumped down off the platform and quickly, but calmly walked towards where Osiris was standing. It seemed as if Osiris' eyes and body had followed Zorn from where he had landed to now standing there in front of him. "Osiris, my friend. It is I, Zorn. I have traveled form my home planet of Vegeta in search of you and your home planet. And by a strange twist of fate, we have met with no time wasted," Zorn said as he extended his hand to Osiris. -------------------------------------------- WC= 581 Zorn WC=581 Total WC= 2,873 |

There right before his eyes stood Zron, not in the sparring dimension, but in real flesh and blood. The saiyan extended his hand as he greeted Osiris enthusiastically. It would seem he had come a great distance to search him out. Osiris gripped his hand firmly, “Yes, well strange has a way of being normal around here. Anyway, you don’t need to wear that mask just yet, unless you are afraid of germs. I know it might not seem like it because of all the openings in the dome but they actually keep this place atmospherically friendly to just about any race. Each entrance and exit has a plasma barrier that divides the outside gasses from the inside gasses, but still allows ships to pass through. The dock workers just wear their mask down by the platforms because some of the ships give off noxious gasses.” Osiris paused for a moment and considered what Zorn had said. “Come, walk with me. There are some supplies that I need to pick up and it is much cheaper if we go to the trade district outside rather than barter with the shop owners in here. They think they can raise the prices just because they are selling to people who don’t have the luxury of time to haggle. Greed seems to be a common alignment. I’ve heard enough of my voice for the moment though. Why exactly have you sought out me out?” He turned and started to lead his new companion to the other side of the dome where they could exit straight into the market district. Considering the size of the port though, that could take several minutes. Osiris darted his eyes around, suddenly noticing two men that he had seen before. Both of them slid back into the crowds and disappeared. The half breed just kept walking casually as if he had seen nothing. For now he would let things play out while he became acquainted with Zorn. Zorn turned and walked with Osiris as they were headed to the other side of the dome in order to pick up some supplies that Osiris needed. They walked casually side by side, both scanning the crowds as they passed by. Zorn had removed the breathing apparatus after the information Osiris had given him, which made him feel more comfortable and relaxed. Osiris had wondered why Zorn had sought him out and traveled such a great distance to meet him. "I came to seek you out because I know you are a strong warrior with great determination and even greater inklings to do good in the universe. I am much the same way. I am on a personal journey in search of more power, better skills, and to try and become a better leader in hopes of one day rejoining the Saiyan Army on my home planet of Vegeta. I thought that I would seek you out because during our spars I sensed that you were a good person and of an equal power level as me. I believe that together, we can team up to do great things, as partners. We could train together and help one another all things that cross our paths. What do you think?" Zorn paused, now looking towards Osiris as they continued to walk across the dome. He hoped he had not come on too strong or sounded to much like a goody goody fanatical freak. His intentions were good and pure, but mostly, he wanted someone to train with, a training partner. "Just consider it. Training together could have endless corridors to unimagined power levels. You don't have to say yes or no right now, just think about it and tell me when you have decided. Until then, maybe I can tag along with you and get to know your planet." Zorn now looked straight as the two continued to walk across the dome, hoping that Osiris would see the good that could come out of the two of them working and training together. ------------------------------------------------ WC=341 Zorn WC=922 Total WC= 3,544 |

Osiris listened intently to the Saiyan’s explanation and it sounded very sincere. Still, Zorn had the sound of a young idealist. Someone who thought they could make the universe a better place if they just tried hard enough. Osiris’ life had beaten that idealism out of him. From the very beginning he abandoned the idea he was a good guy. The situation defined what he would do in order to turn things in his favor. Good and evil meant very little to him. He looked down at his gauntlet covered hands considering the black and silver markings each one possessed. It made him feel like some kind of walking yin-yang symbol. Maybe I am a good guy. Still, I have killed so many people and never felt bad about it. In fact some days it feels like the only reason I am around is to fight. Who would I be if I couldn’t fight anymore? How would I exist in a peaceful universe? Damn, this is not what I need to be thinking about right now. I need to figure out how I am going to piece everything together. Zorn is a strong warrior, probably a little stronger than me. Between the information I would be getting from Javier and our combined strength, we could finally be rid of these syndicates. He glanced at Zorn, his chin held high and his back straight with perfect posture. The Saiyan walked like he was nobility, yet he had no problem asking to tag along with a half breed like Osiris. It was a very odd combination to find in a person. Osiris remembered the map the old woman had given him and formed a plan. Okay Zorn, I have a little expedition I’ve decided to go on. Apparently I have a map that leads to something created by the Lost Ones. We can search for it together. If I like how it goes, maybe you could help me with something more important. We can pick up everything we need at the market district. It is right through that tunnel there. You can see the faint blue color around the edges at either end of the passage. That is where the plasma barriers are. Once we get into the tunnel you will need to put on the mask, because on other side the air won’t be breathable for you anymore. Well, you could breathe it for a while, but it wouldn’t exactly be good for your health.” Osiris rubbed his palm on the pommel of the Capsule Corp. blade at his right hip. He had a feeling that the two men he had seen in the shipping hub were not just scouts. It seemed very unlikely they were simply thieves considering no man in his right mind would try to mug someone with a sword. Probably the latest installment of bounty hunters after my head. I may have to explain the whole situation to Zorn a little earlier than originally expected. The question is will they come at me in the trade district or wait until we have left the city. A sudden thought hit Osiris in the gut making him feel sick with anger. “Wait! You are training so you can get back into the Saiyan Army! Last time I checked the Sayain Army had a habit of taking slaves for your so called Elite!” A surge of rage infused his voice but he kept it low and never stopped walking. He wanted an explanation, but Osiris did NOT want to draw attention to himself. Surely someone who talks so much about doing good would not condone such things. Something must have been lost in the translation. Word Count: 621 Osiris Count: 3,243 Total Count: 4,125 |

Zorn was some what shocked at the accusation of Osiris calling Saiyans slavers. Where did that come from? We aren't slavers...I think. Zorn had never knew about taking slaves. He knew that they took over planets to sell them on the universal market, but never had he heard about Elites taking people from those planets in order to make them their slaves. "I don't know what you are talking about Osiris. I have never heard of Saiyan Elites taking others as slaves, but if you believe it to be true, it could very well be true. I have been so enthralled in my own training that I have not been paying attention as to what has been going on with the Saiyan Army nor the Saiyan Empire. It is possible that it has been happening very quietly and that I did not even recognize it." Had Zorn been missing it? Has it really been there the whole time? Have the Elites been taking slaves after the lower class soldiers had taken the planets away from them. Those low lifes! I could have been stopping it the whole time! Vins was right. Things in the Saiyan Empire have to change and quickly. Zorn clenched his fists as he continued to walk next to Osiris as they approached the plasma barriers. "I apologize Osiris if there is any issues between us. I had no idea that slaving had been taking place in the Saiyan Empire. I have been so naive! Just before I left there was a former Saiyan warrior turned monk who preached peace making and using the powers we have for good instead of evil. That must have been one of the other issues he was talking about. I became a student for a short while under that Saiyan Monk, Vins was his name. He taught me a lot of about being a good person and using my powers on the side of good. I must regain entry to the Saiyan Army and attempt to change it from the inside out. But I must get stronger. It sounds as if you hold slavers as the supreme evil in this area. Any reason why Osiris?" The two warriors continued to walk towards the plasma barriers as Zorn took off his travel bag and dug out the breathing apparatus and then started to put it on as they got ready to exit the dome and pass through the plasma barriers into the noxious gases of Cauldron. ---------------------------------- WC=414 Zorn WC=1,336 Total WC=4,539 |

Osiris gripped the hilt of his sword so hard his knuckles turned white. His heart pounded in his chest like it was trying to escape. He was even having a hard time suppressing his ki from erupting in an aura around him. Slavery was one of few things that elicited a highly emotional response from Osiris. I know I have a great number of informants embedded in the slaver markets. Still, I thought Saiyans taking slaves was common knowledge. Is Zorn really that driven in his pursuit that the world fades around him? Maybe, it is hard to tell, he seems sincere. That story about the monk doesn’t seem like something a person comes up with off the top of his head. Picking up the pace slightly he walked in silence trying to calm himself. A slight tingle washed over his body as he passed through the first plasma barrier. Zorn was putting on his mask as they neared the second barrier and the outdoors. The concrete and metallic tunnel ended and opened to the streets of the market district and the many shops that lined them. Osiris took a deep breath of the volatile mixture of warm gases, glad not be among the few that does not need to wear a mask. Calmed by the air of his home world Osiris answered Zorn’s question. “I was a slave for the majority of my life. I killed my taskmasters one day trying to protect the only person I have ever considered family. She died right in front of me because I was too weak! For roughly three years now I have hunted done and killed every slaver I could find. Each time I did the number of people that followed me grew. Unfortunately, right now I am having some problems with the elder council that now makes most of the decisions. I freed each one of them and somehow they still look at me as a kid.” The pair of warriors walked into a brightly lit shop with many supplies one need to go on an extended trip. Dried food, packs, ropes, extra clothes. Osiris picked out the items he thought would be useful and shoved them into a large rucksack. He continued speaking in low tones, “Anyway, the slavers have gotten much more careful to not draw attention. Most of the police force around here is corrupt, paid off by the syndicates so they are never caught. Things are changing now though, I may soon have the chance to finally cut the head off the snake.” Osiris paused for a moment considering his next words very carefully. “I am not entirely a free man though. I am bound by duty to the people I freed. Eventually I hope to find them a new place to call home. In the mean time we are hunted. Right now, if my suspicions are correct we are being followed by two bounty hunters after me.” He paid the Kelioxian man at the counter and went to walk out the door with his newly acquired supplies under his arm. Osiris appreciated Zorn’s respectful silence. Now it was time to see if the Saiyan would fight at his side though. Pushing the door open he walked outside and noticed two aliens garbed in black battle gear. Throwing done the sack of supplies Osiris cracked his neck. Without a word being said Osiris ran at dizzying speed towards a blue and orange skinned alien throwing a knee towards his stomach. The bounty hunter blocked it with both hands leaving his guard down. The half breed pulled back with a haymaker and smashed his fist into a fishlike face. With a hard thud the alien bounced off the wall, but would get no pause. Osiris relentlessly pressed his assault firing upper hooks into his opponent’s stomach lifting him up off the ground with the force of each blow. As Osiris and Zorn exited the dome and went out into the gaseous air of Cauldron, Zorn was shocked but showed little emotion, only turning his head towards the demon, at the news that he was receiving from Osiris. This young warrior was remarkable. He had been a slave, had freed his people, fought to protect them, and now was intent upon decapitating not only the slave trade on Cauldron, but possibly in the entire universe. The goodness of this warrior was remarkable, even if he may not notice it himself. They entered a small shop and Osiris gathered the supplies they would need for the journey Osiris spoke about. Something having to do with a map given to him and Lost Ones. He was unsure what that meant, but was definitely up for an adventure. Then, as Osiris was paying for the supplies, he said something that caught Zorn's attention. He mentioned that there were bounty hunters after him and that two of them had been following them. Osiris had turned sternly, heading for the door with the rucksack in hand. Zorn followed behind him. Just as they left the shop, there stood two figures, dressed in black. They stared at Osiris as he had stopped and dropped the rucksack. Suddenly, Osiris sprung into action attacking an orange and blue skinned alien and began pummeling him. The kid was impressive. He was quick and powerful. Zorn watched as he delivered blow after blow to the bounty hunter. Having turned his back on the second bounty hunter to take of the first, Osiris was left open to attack from the other. The second bounty hunter began to move, walking towards Osiris. "Not so fast you son of a bitch." Zorn sprung into action, running up behind the large, blue skinned alien wearing black armor. He grabbed the back of the bounty hunter's armor and pulled him backwards down onto the ground. Zorn stood over him wagging his index finger back and forth at the bounty hunter. Osiris continued his assault on the blue and orange skinned bounty hunter. The bounty hunter Zorn had engaged now did a sweep kick at the ankles of Zorn, but Zorn jumped into the air and rotated his body, making it parallel to the ground. He came down with devastating force, delivering a harsh right fist to the middle of the large bounty hunter's stomach, making him jackknife in half and scream with pain. Zorn regained his feet, turned to check on Osiris and then turned around again. By time he turned back around, his own opponent had risen to his feet. "It would have been better if you had stayed down. Or at least ran." Zorn walked slowly up to the bulky, blue bounty hunter. The hunter fired a right handed straight punch at Zorn's face. Zorn caught the wrist of his opponent with his left hand, twisted it, locking his opponent's elbow. He then fired a vicious right upper cut into the locked elbow of his opponent, shattering it. The breaking was so loud, Zorn could here his bones crack. To finish off his opponent, Zorn released his wrist and delivered a huge left hook to the inner thigh of the tall, bulky bounty hunter. The punch connected with so much force that it snapped his opponent's femur with a loud snap. The bounty hunter screamed in pain as he fell to the ground. Zorn looked down at the writhing bounty hunter and said, "Told you you should have stayed down or ran you prick." Zorn stood above his opponent as he attempted to crawl away, not getting more than a few inches. Zorn crossed his arms and watched as Osiris continued his fight against the other bounty hunter. ----------------------------------------------- WC=626 Zorn WC=1,962 Total WC=5,820 |

While Zorn finished his enemy quickly, breaking bones and leaving his opponent trying to crawl away, Osiris was savoring his fight. Stepping back after delivering numerous blows to the bounty hunter’s stomach he stepped back and looked at the hunched over figure. “Tell me who sent you.” The fish-faced alien thrust an arm out trying to unleashing a large ki blast towards Osiris’ chest. The demon grabbed his hand with a crushing grip. The ki ball exploded between them barely phasing the cloaked figure. The bounty hunter was not as tough as he dropped to his knees. “Come on man, you know how it works. We rarely even talk to the guy we get the jobs from. It’s not good business to exchange names! We can’t tell you anything or we would be dead anyway!” . Releasing the alien’s right hand Osiris grabbed his throat and picked him up with his own right hand. In one smooth motion He drew his Capsule Corp. blade from his right hip and made a 150 degree arc with it. The blue and orange alien’s lower body dropped to the ground along with a stream of blood and carnage. He tossed the dead torso in front of the bounty hunter Zorn had defeated. He casually strode over to the trembling man with his sword still drawn. Standing over the fallen warrior Osiris let the blood on the blade drip down onto the fear etched face. “I am just going to assume you are too stupid to have any information I want. That being said I have a new job for you. Go back to whoever sent and tell them to stop sending weaklings to bug me. Then if they don’t kill you for being incompetent, which I would bet good zeni they will, I want you to do another job for me. Go back to whatever hole you bounty hunters crawl out of and tell them not to set foot on Cauldron. This is my home and I refuse to let scum like you live here. Turning back towards the shop he picked up his large duffle bag of supplies. Slinging the pack over his shoulder he motioned to the Saiyan to follow him. They walked in silence for a few blocks to escape the crowd that was starting to form around what was left of the two bounty hunters. Osiris wondered if Zorn would question his rather unforgiving tactics. It seemed unlikely considering the Saiyan may have crippled his opponent for the rest of his life. Still, people usually had a very strong opinion about what justifies killing another sentient being. Never the less Osiris decided to speak first. “I understand if you want to withdraw your offer to accompany me. Stuff like that kind of happens a lot to me. Guess I just have bad luck. Anyway, I am heading to the south end of the city now. There are some people there I want to meet up with before I leave. So, I need your decision soon. No point risking my friend’s safety introducing them to someone I hardly know. Don’t take it personally. Frankly I still don’t trust you 100 percent. That will take time. Osiris spoke the words calmly to avoid offending the Saiyan. It needed to be said though, one fight meant very little. Especially when that fight is with two weaklings. After Osiris' bloody finish to his battle with the bounty hunter, the two warriors walked south. Zorn thought to himself, replaying the actions of Osiris in his head. The kid has great skills and great determination, but I could do without the killing in public with so many witnesses around. Yet, from what he has said and considering that bounty hunters are after his head, I can completely understand why he did what he did. That kind of built up rage can weigh heavily upon a soul. Osiris said that he wanted to go see some of his friends before they left on their small adventure using the map he had just received. But Osiris also stated that he had yet to trust Zorn one-hundred percent. "I have no problem with us working together, Osiris. I believe that we can be very useful training partners and even friends in the future. But from what you have told me, I understand your wariness of befriending me and trusting me so quickly. We have time to get to know each other, but I can promise you that you have nothing to worry about with me. Hopefully in that little skirmish back there, I showed you that I am somewhat capable of being a worthy ally for you. So let us just say we are training partners for now and then move from there. Let fate take us where it will." Zorn stopped talking momentarily as they continued to walk to the south. Zorn looked around at the outskirts of the domed shipping yard. The planet was so barren and rocky. No wonder it was more of a mining planet. But Zorn's thoughts shifted back to Osiris cutting the bounty hunter in half. "I don't mean to be rude or to tell you how to fight, but the way you killed that bounty hunter back in front of the shop, it was a little disheartening. I know, from what you have said about your time as a slave and the responsibility of protecting your people has weighed heavily on you, making you grow up a lot faster than you should have had to. But you must not always let your anger get the best of you, especially in a crowded area like we were just in. Sometimes the use of anger is a good thing, but it can also get you into a lot of trouble. Now the syndicates that are after you may spend even more money and time coming after you because you have publicly disrespected and humiliated them by killing those embarrassments they call bounty hunters. I am just saying think about it next time. Don't just react on emotion alone. Use your head." Zorn was unsure how Osiris would react to his words, but hoped he would understand that he meant no disrespect. He was only trying to help because he did not want to see such a good, but burdened soul be devoured by hatred, revenge, and darkness. Zorn sensed that Osiris was battling an inner darkness and that he would eventually have to choose between good and evil at some point in his life, whether he liked it or not. -------------------------------------------------------- WC=533 Zorn WC=2,495 Total WC=6,909 |

Osiris jumped onto the side of a building and quickly scaled his way to the roof. There he stood overlooking the great number of buildings that surrounded the massive dome of the main shipping yard. Zorn followed him upwards but did not need to climb. Instead the Saiyan floated in the air until he could simply step onto the roof. Everything was bathed in an orange light as the two suns began their decent from the sky, though it would still be several hours before they totally disappeared. Henex’s mansion was several miles away. Walking there would take too long; Osiris decided to jump from building to building as he had the day before when he was tracking down the strange monster. Curious he turned towards the north. There was a great deal of activity around several collapsed buildings. Ships flew back and forth carrying away debris and bringing in equipment. The area the monster’s body would be laying though was devoid of motion. It would seem no one was allowed near it. The half breed wanted to know what the military would do with the body, but now wasn’t the time to find out. He turned back south with a rebuttal to Zorn’s comments forming in his head. Osiris considered just ignoring him, but that isn’t a good way to make allies. “That was actually one of the less embarrassing things I have done to the syndicates. Chances are those goons were just here because they heard about an open contract on me. Still, that doesn’t mean the syndicates won’t punish them for failing. Maybe I could have been more lenient on the man though. The only problem with that is I didn’t consider him a man. When you decide to make your livelihood hurting other people you forfeit the right to be shown mercy. I have tried to give people second chances. It rarely works out in my favor.” “You don’t have to like my style. Just know that I think things through before I get into fights. Remember that I saw them coming long before we got into the altercation. If anything I simply showed the syndicates that I refuse to play around with them. Next time they will send someone stronger and really that isn’t a bad thing, allows me to supplement my training with real battles. Rarely do they ever catch me off guard, in fact only once have they done that. Even then I came out on top. One day someone will defeat me, but that's why we train isn't? To make sure that day is as far away as possible.” "We should get going though. If we hurry we can get to our destination before dinner." Jumping off the building his feet touched down on another rooftop. His legs moved fast to keep his momentum going as Osiris sprinted across the building and jumped to another. He repeated this pattern again and again feeling the air rush past his face. As he raced across the canopy of the city he wondered if Zorn had ever killed someone, but that wasn’t a conversation he wanted to get into. It wouldn’t be long before they got to Henex’s estate. Hopefully Kenel and the others would have some information for him. Word Count: 546 Word Count: 5,008 Total Count: 7,455 |

Osiris took to scaling a building, in which Zorn followed him, levitating upward into the air and then landing on the roof of the building next to Osiris. He watched as Osiris looked back to the north and stared momentarily. Zorn looked back as well, pondering what it was that Osiris was looking at or looking for. All Zorn saw were numerous vehicles flying back and forth in the distance. Osiris said nothing before turning his head back around and looking back towards the south. Osiris spoke in response to what Zorn had said before they ended up on the roof of the current building they were standing on. Some of the things, like Osiris saying that he did not consider the bounty hunter a man, Zorn agreed with. He had never looked at it the way that Osiris had just mentioned, but it was logical. Any man who could kill for money without mercy, did not have a soul. And with no soul, a man cannot exist. Only a monster exists in that form. Osiris did have a logical reason to cut that "man" in half. Osiris took off and began hoping from roof to roof. Zorn once again levitated and began to fly, shadowing the pattern that Osiris established. As they moved, Zorn finally called down to Osiris. "Osiris. I have thought about fight more and what you said about not considering that bounty hunter a man. You are right. Real people have souls that contain compassion and some form of mercy. That bounty hunter was soulless because he kills for money without mercy. I have no problem killing evil beings. I have killed before. I don't gloat about killing others, but if they are evil and have no chance of ever changing their ways, the best thing for the universe is to kill that dark, evil monster in the form of a person." "I don't condone senseless killing, but killing for the betterment of the universe, I can and do condone that. We will make a good team, Osiris. As partners and allies, we will do a lot of good I believe, if you wholeheartedly wish to do good. I genuinely believe that you do want to do good. But if you should stray from killing for goodness, I will be there to stop you. I can promise you that. Got it Osiris?" Zorn finished his short sermon that he preached at Osiris and turned his attention back to the south in which they were heading. Osiris was moving quickly from roof to roof, zig-zagging back and forth and lightning speed. Zorn glanced down and followed the quick movements of Osiris. That boy is quick. He has a lot of potential. Hopefully I can help him unlock it and he can help me unlock some of my hidden potential. This could be a great beginning to a very fruitful partnership. Osiris began to pull away form him about so Zorn had to pick up his flying speed a bit. He powered up the ki in his body a bit and exerted it through his body, propelling him even faster. It allowed him to keep pace with Osiris much easier. Zorn watched the glorious double sun set as two of the suns of Cauldron began to drift behind the horizon. It was something that Zorn had never imagined possible. What unimaginable things would he see upon his journeys on Cauldron and throughout the vast universe. Osiris and he would go to the ends of the universe in the search of the same thing. Power beyond ones wildest imaginations. --------------------------------------------------- WC=600 Zorn WC=3,095 Total WC= 8,055 |

Osiris glanced back at Zorn when he made his final remark about straying from goodness. The preachy Saiyan was starting to agitate his new partner. The half breed didn’t bother to reply this time instead letting the sound of wind fill the silence between them. There was no reason to bother arguing such things as soul and moral standing with someone so idealistic. It was better to just let the world teach them the hard lessons everyone has to learn eventually. A short time later they came upon Henex’s estate. The massive building sat by itself apart from the rest of the city. Osiris Dropped down from the last building, rolled once and started sprinting the half mile of towards the large gates that surrounded the perimeter of the mansion. Truly the structure was of a grand design. A central wing, an east wing, and a west wing were all raised several stories into the air. Carved statues stood out all over the dark gray stone of the walls. Thick stained glassed windows dotted the structure and one could even see the top portion of the massive green house behind the west wing. The whole building seemed to flow with gradual curves and archways that gave it a majestic look. Not for the first time Osiris thought it looked like a modern day castle. Still, even though he had become fairly familiar with the estate Osiris could still feel the slight tinge of disgust. Such comfort was not for him. His body was use to the hard ground and make shift beds. His taste was suited for simple meals and his thirst was quenched by simple water. Such luxury seemed unnatural for the half breed. Hardship is what breeds strong warriors. Decadence only makes people soft and greedy. Everyone should have to survive in the wild for a time so they can appreciate what they have. Too many of these city dwellers take survival for granted. Then when something happens everyone is so shocked. If they would only open their eyes they could see the truth. All life is on the brink of extinction every day and it only survives because there are those willing to fight to keep it. Jumping Osiris soared over the gate in a trajectory that put him next to Zorn. “This is it if you couldn’t already tell. Don’t get use to it though. Tomorrow we will be sleeping on the ground. Osiris touch back to the ground and kept talking as he ran, “Henex is the man who owns this place and Kenel is his daughter, they are kelioxians .Helana will be the one with green eyes and silver hair. Kristy will be the one with blue eyes and white hair. Farren will be, well you will know which one Farren is. Anyway that’s about everyone you will be meeting.” The demon came sliding to a stop in front of a large door that opened up just as he got there. An older gentleman stood there inviting them in. “Mister Henex said to let you in and lead you to the dining hall along with your friend. Please come with me young masters.” The old butler did just as he said and soon the two warriors were being greeted by the group Osiris had just told Zorn about. Elsewhere on the planet Cauldron the ranking officer Captain Javier received a transmission from central command on Kelioux. The screen in front of the old soldier was black, then flashed with multi colored bars, and then a man with a highly decorated uniform appeared. “General, I was not aware you would be contacting me yourself. What can I do for you, sir?” The Captain stood at attention waiting for his orders. The man on the screen spoke with regal authority, “At ease soldier. I am simply taking a personal interest in the events of Cauldron. Not for a long time have we had a major disturbance like this. Additionally, the appearance of an unknown species of such size and strength is something that worries a man of my position. Could you imagine what a handful of those this could do to an entire planet? Frankly, that is something I would like to avoid at just about all costs. As such, I have sent several more vessels with men to your base. The first will be arriving in approximately three hours. Four others will show up sometime tomorrow with more equipment and plenty of scientists. Javier nodded his head, “I understand sir. We are ready to receive the reinforcements at anytime. I am curious; will there be a council of judges aboard any of these ships? There are men in need of trial for their conduct on the battle field sir. The Captain clenched his jaw wishing he didn’t need to admit his men were cowards. “Yes, the second ship will have the judges required for the court proceedings. Javier, there is another reason I made this call personally. You are being promoted to Commander. With that you will be the man in charge of Cauldron. Including, the research into this monster of yours. Javier swallowed hard, “Sir, that is two ranks though. I have never heard of a double promotion before. Are you sure?” The General nodded his head sharply, “The least to say is that we here at central were impressed by the way you handled the situation. You have earned this Commander. Now as for this teenager in your report, it says you gave him medical attention and then let him leave after a short discussion. A kid with that kind of power needs to be guided Javier, not to mention the boost he would be to our military. What is it exactly you talked about?” The newly promoted Commander sat silent for a few seconds thinking of what to say. “Well sir, to be honest I was trying to make a friend. I understand his power would be well used in the military, but I got the impression he doesn’t much care for authority. The kid is independent and already seems to have a good number of friends that follow his lead. It would seem doubtful that I or anyone else could recruit him. Especially after he saw how many of our men ran away even as he charged into the heart of the battle. Even if he did join, he would only listen to the orders he wanted to sir.” “very well Commander. I will leave the teenager to your discretion. As for the scientific crews coming in they will be working mostly independent from you. However, all their reports and findings will land on your desk even before they get to me. With that being said you are in charge with deciding how to use this new information on Cauldron. Javier there will be a colonel leading each of the reinforcements coming to you. Don’t be intimidated, you are the military head on Cauldron and you will be until we at central command no longer think you are doing the job or you retire. I expect it to be a long time before either one of those things happens, understood?” Javier nodded his head sharply, “Yes sir! I’ll do everything I can to get things running smoothly around here.” The General nodded his head back to the Commander and then the transmission was ended abruptly. Javier sat there for a long moment staring at the blank screen. This is far more responsibility than I had anticipated. I figured they would have sent another officer to take command here. Still, this could work out perfectly for my plans. With me being in charge, I get to decide what threat is the military’s business and which isn’t. That means I just need to manufacture a good reason to get myself involved with taking down the crime syndicates. As the new military leader of Cauldron laid out his plans, he soon began to realize that things were going to get worse before they get better. The military only handled emergency situations that the police lacked the ability to deal with. That meant that the police force would either have to ask for his help or something catastrophic would need to happen to allow the Commander to be able to act openly. Javier’s plan began to rest more and more on Osiris’ cooperation. More than that, he would need the whole of Sairsen to take action. “This isn’t just going to look like a small war. This IS going to be a war.” The commander sighed and then stood and walked out of his office. Word Count: 891 Osiris Count: 6,464 Total Count: 9,511 |

When Zorn and Osiris finally reached the mansion, Osiris hopped the fence and stopped at the door. Zorn flew over the fence and lowered himself to the ground behind Osiris' right shoulder. Osiris told Zorn about the people that he would be meeting inside. Then the door to the mansion swung open. It was an old balding man wearing a fancy black tuxedo. He greeted the two warriors and then escorted them into the dinning hall. The well decorated and fanciness of the inside of the mansion reminded Zorn of King Vegeta's palace from when he trained with him before he had left Planet Vegeta. The halls were long and elaborate. In the dinning room was a long wooden table with a chandler hanging from the high ceiling. Inside the dinning hall stood four people, a man and three women. In the corner of the room laid a large fiery beast. That must be Farren. The four people all stared at Osiris and Zorn as they walked in. Zorn felt as if all the eyes in the room were on him, their vision passing right past Osiris. "Who is your friend, Osiris?" asked the blue eyed girl that Osiris had described as Kristy. "My name is Zorn, a Saiyan," Zorn responded to the question before Osiris could answer. "What is a Saiyan doing on Cauldron? the green eyed Helana asked as she narrowed her eyes. She must have thought as Osiris did before, that because he was a Saiyan he was here as part of the slave trade. He needed to squash that bug real quick before he gave off the wrong impression. "I came here seeking out Osiris. We had met in the sparring realm and I am looking for a training partner. I thought that Osiris would make a good training partner to help us both get stronger. When I incidentally ran into him upon arriving on the planet at the port hub, I found out quickly that Osiris had more issues to deal with here than just training and becoming stronger. It now seems that I will be helping out with what I can. And no...I am not associated with the slave trade in any way whatsoever." The four people looked satisfied with Zorn's explanation. The butler then came in with dinner and placed it on the table. There were enough plate settings at the table for everyone in the room. Mr. Henex, the owner of the mansion, took his place at the head of his table with what was surely his daughter Kenel sitting to his right. The others sat to Kenel's right while Zorn and Osiris took their seats to the left of Mr. Henex. "I appreciate the hospitality and meal Mr. Henex." Mr. Henex nodded at the Saiyan and then began to eat his meal. Everyone else followed suit, eating rather quickly and silently. The butler stood off to the side away from the table, only moving to refill glasses of water or to place more food on plates of the diners. No one spoke, which Zorn thought was peculiar, but he did not disrupt the silence, for he did not want to be rude. He figured that he would let Osiris do a majority of the talking until he found out what the plan of action was. When they were all finished eating, the butler cleared the table of dishes, refilled everyone's drink, and then disappeared through a door that surely went to the kitchen. They now sat their silently, staring at one another. Finally Kenel spoke up. "Well...is someone going to say something or are we all just going to sit here dumbfounded? Mr. Henex turned his head to look at Osiris as Farren, the large fiery beast in the corner, sauntered over towards Osiris. "Fill us in Osiris. What is going on?" Zorn looked at Mr. Henex as the he spoke and then to Osiris, awaiting to hear Osiris' response and hopefully find out more of what was in plan for the near future. --------------------------------------------------- WC=673 Zorn WC=3,768 Total WC= 10,184 |

Osiris had been appreciating the silence throughout dinner. With the last couple of days being so strenuous having a calm relaxing meal was more than inviting. Unfortunately, it would seem the other dinners did not share his appreciation. Coming out of his mental shell Osiris found himself in a rather tense situation with everyone wanting to know what is going on. Well, everyone but Farren who already knew everything and was fast asleep by the large window across the room. “Fill us in Osiris. What is going on?” Henex’s curiosity was as evident as Helana’s sharp glances toward Zorn. Clearly her encounter with Tannor, the Saiyan bounty hunter, has left her weary of all Saiyans. With a slight sigh Osiris resigned himself to having to speak. “The situation is complex at the moment. As things stand right now, Zorn is my partner on an expedition that with take us to the northwest continent. At least I believe that is where our journey will take us. He and I will be going alone. I want to make sure I can trust him one hundred percent because there are things afoot that are going to get very messy. Before I get into that though, did you three find anything relating to this monster?” Kenel frowned and looked into her drink as she spoke, “Nothing, it’s like this thing just came out of nowhere. But, the three of us had an idea. It came out right as the alignment completed, right? Well, we don’t have any records of the last eclipse. If that monster only came out on the eclipse then that would be why we don’t have any records of it. It could have even wiped out the last civilization that lived here!” Kristy looked over and saw a slight expression of confusion on his face. “Osiris you didn’t tell him what happened?” The half breed shrugged his shoulders slightly. You seriously need to work on your communication skills. I’m sorry Zorn, but about two days ago now this huge strange creature attacked our city. Osiris, Farren, and a few men from the military brought it down. Osiris nearly died from some serious venom that thing had. The odd thing is, no one has a clue where it came from.” Kristy shot a glare at Osiris. “It was not that big of a deal. Anyway, I guess I will let the military handle finding out what is up with the big gray beast. As things stand I believe I will take Javier, the current leader of the military here, up on his offer for information. After Zorn and I return that is.” Osiris kept his word short not wanting the conversation to go to deep. He was not ready to explain the full magnitude of what it meant to go after the entire criminal syndicates all at once, especially to Zorn. It wouldn’t be hard to convince the Saiyan he was on the side of good, but getting him involved in what amounted to a small military conflict was something very different. “What exactly are you two going after? Another relic from the Lost, like your other sword?” Helana’s tone was pleasant, but her gaze on Osiris was unwavering. The half-demon locked eyes with her and felt an underlying challenge. She was tired of being left behind. Still, Osiris knew he had to go alone with Zorn. If he was the only other person there, then they would be forced to rely on each other and create some kind of working partnership. Actually, yes, what exactly it is going to be I haven’t a clue. If it is anything like the sword though, it will be a valuable tool.” Henex spoke up with his quizzical voice, “You seem to have a growing fascination with these Lost Ones Osiris. Enlighten me, please.” Osiris nodded towards Kenel who sat still staring into her drink like she had done something wrong. “I believe your daughter will have far more knowledge on such things. Kenel looked up slightly surprised, “Oh, umm yeah I can tell you a little bit. To be honest no one really knows a great deal about them. That’s kind of why they are called the Lost Ones. We only find remnants of their civilization which is odd because it seems like they inhabited just about every planet at one point. Their technology was incredibly advanced, most of the artifacts seem to run on certain types of energy that we are only vaguely aware of which is the main reason we can’t use almost any of what is left. Every once in a while something will work, but usually just for a single person. Kind of like your sword Osiris.” Osiris knitted his eyebrows together unaware there was something that made his sword unusable by other people. “What do you mean? It is an incredible sword, but it is still a sword none the less. Anyone can pick it up and swing it.” The tall Keliouxian woman moved her head from side to side several times. “No Osiris, that blade only works properly for you. One of the servants claimed it shocked his hand when he tried to pick it up. We had another man try and the same thing happened. When the three of us tried it we could draw it from the sheath but the thing was too heavy to use, even for Helana. Plus the edge was dull, wouldn’t have been able to cut anything with it.” “Fascinating, this may be a decent investment of my zeni to find out more. We should discuss this some more Kenel. In the mean time what about your friend Zorn here?” Shrugging his shoulders Osiris responded, “Zorn already covered most of it. I didn’t even know he was coming to look for me. As it is, he should be a good ally. He is certainly strong enough. Probably even a little stronger than me,” his voice was smooth and distant almost like he didn’t care what he said. Kristy butted in abruptly, “I find that very hard to believe.” She looked around the table to find heads nodding in agreement. “You don’t trust my opinion all of sudden?” Osiris’ voice was slightly accusing. Everyone stopped nodding their head and looked at him almost slightly worried, except for Helana. “It’s not that we don’t trust you. It is just that we have seen you do many things that none of us could do. Makes it hard to believe that someone we just meant is as strong as or even stronger than you.” Henex smiled opportunistically, “Well, why don’t we have a little after dinner match. Will be good exercise and we can settle this little matter. We have more than enough space in the green house. What do you say? Osiris shrugged his shoulders not really caring either way. He would leave the decision up to the Saiyan, but then again the answer wasn’t hard to guess. Word Count: 1,178 Osiris Count:7,642 Total Count: 11,362 |

After listening intently to Osiris' explanation of what was going on and the added input of Kenel, with her vast amount of knowledge, Zorn felt a little more in the loop of what was actually happening. He now knew that there had been an eclipse in the past couple of days before his arrival and that an unknown, large, gray beast had risen. The others, most Osiris, along with the assistance of the army on Cauldron had taken the creature down. Osiris must be very strong if that beast they were talking about was as destructive as they assume it was. He almost lost his life, yet here he is, alive and strong. This demon has vast potential to be a great warrior. Osiris and Zorn's next move would be to go on an expedition to fonds more relics of the Lost Ones. The story of Osiris' newly found sword was intriguing to Zorn. He had witnessed the power of the sword in their last gem spar, but knew nothing about its history. The powers that Kenel expressed the sword having were astonishing and almost unbelievable. Zorn couldn't wait to see what their expedition had in store for them. The expression of Kristy and Kenel's disbelief concerning Zorn's power level being higher than Osiris' spurred Mr. Henex to offer up the use of his green house as a sparring arena for the two warriors to show their abilities. Osiris simply shrugged his shoulders, not accepting or declining the offer of the spar. Zorn supposed that it was his call to make, being the guest and all. Zorn, being the Saiyan he was, could not pass up a good sparring match to show his abilities. Even though he was very different from many of his kin when it came to brutalities, he still had Saiyan blood flowing in his veins. He couldn't pass up a fight. "Why not, Osiris. This will give us a chance to show them that we are both on the same level and will have no problems dealing with any obstacles that get in our way on our expedition and anything else that we might encounter during our partnership. Shall we?" Zorn stood up from the table, pushed in his chair, and waited for the others to follow suit. They did, with Osiris being the last to rise from the table. They exited the dinning hall, back into the hallway that Osiris and Zorn had entered from. Mr. Henex led the way down the hallway with the two warriors following, behind them the three women and Farren, the fiery animal. They finally reached the entrance to the green house. There was a glass door where Mr. Henex stopped at before letting them in. He stopped, turned to the two warriors and gave them a little pep talk. "Boys, lets see what you got, but try not to tear up my green house too much please. I don't want to have to spend a bunch of zeni fixing it up again when you two get done." Both of the warriors nodded. Mr. Henex pressed a green button on the wall next to the glass door and the door slid open with a wooshing sound. The wonderful smell of the green vegetation hit Zorn's nostrils as his inhaled the smell deeply. It was not the same noxious odor given off by the rest of the planet. All of them entered the green house. The observers took seats in a few chairs and benches that were close to the door. The two warriors continued to walk further into the green house. Zorn looked around, never imagining something like this could fit and live inside of a building. There was plush, green grass on the ground with trees, thick enough to be a forest, in the background. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Planet Vegeta had dense forests but no grass like this. He had only experienced grass like this in the sparring dimension. The air was fresh as the two warriors stood facing each other about twenty feet apart. Zorn knelt down and ran his right hand through the soft, green grass next to his feet. He pulled a small handful of the green blades of grass and rubbed them slowly between his palms before dropping them back to the ground. Zorn then cupped his hands over his nose, taking in the sweet smell of the grass. Inhaling the smell heightened his senses, almost amping him up for ensuing spar that was about to take place. Zorn stood back up, standing tall and erect with his posture. His face turned stern as he began to focus and planning out his first moves of the spar. "I am ready when you are Osiris. No holding back in this one." -------------------------------------------------- WC=801 Zorn WC=4,569 Total WC=12,163 |

Osiris and Zorn's spar was now over. The immense amount of action had ceased and both fighters now lay motionless in the lush grass of the green house. Both breathed heavily as they attempted to recuperate from their hard fought physical spar. It was an intense battle in which both fighters were pretty evenly matched, but both were able to land some well executed blows to the other. Both had drawn some blood, but a little blood shed was never a bad thing. It made the body and mind stronger. The audience that had accumulated during the spar finally got up from their seated positions near the door of the green house and made their way over to where the two fighters laid in the grass. they circled around the two fighters waiting for one of them to move or to make a comment. But the two just laid there, the only motion that could be seen was the rapid up and down movement of their chests as the inhaled and exhaled. Finally, Mr. Henex spoke to break the silence. "Well fought boys. That was the most excellent display of martial arts skills that I have ever seen in my life time. The power and quickness you two displayed was unfathomable. If you two were to become a team, you could be unstoppable with your fighting skills. What do you all think?" Mr. Henex looked around the circle of spectators who all nodded in agreement with Mr. Henex. Kristy and Helana's faces looked shocked and awed with amazement from the spar, but no one paid much attention to their expressions. The focus was on the two amazing fighters on the ground. "Are you boys all right? Do I need to call for a physician?" "No, that won't be necessary Mr. Henex. We are both fine, just trying to catch our breath and let our bodies recover a bit," Zorn said in response, being the first of the two fighters to speak. Zorn used his arms to push his upper body up off the ground and then propped himself up with his arms. His head turned and focus on Osiris where he laid. his breathing had slowed. Zorn grinned once again, small streams of blood still flowing form the corners of his moth and from his nostrils. "So Osiris...How did I do? Did I meet your standards?" Osiris said nothing in response. Zorn decided that it was time to get up off the ground and see if Osiris needed help getting up after that last knee to the gut. He pushed himself off the ground and walked over to Osiris. He extended his hand to help Osiris up off the ground. "Well? What do you think Osiris?" -------------------------------------------- WC=457 Zorn WC=5,026 Total WC=12,620 |

Osiris lay on the ground with the grass beneath him. His body was tired and sore, but it would take only a few moments for his breath to return. Inside his mind though, a burning sensation burst from the recesses. A echoing voice came with great force, “You are just going to lay here and let a monkey beat you down? We still have plenty of strength, why not use it child? You can feel it already seeping into you. Just reach for it.” The world around the half breed was drowned out by countless whispering voices and visions of crimson flames whipping around. It was like a hellish nightmare invading his mind and yet at the same time his body slowly filled with burning energy. He wrestled with the flames trying not to be consumed by the overwhelming power. The struggle seemed futile as the flames wrapped around him more and more. Relaxing Osiris allowed the inferno to envelop him as he calmed his mind. Get out Myriad. You know you aren’t welcomed here. I said get the fuck out! A hand was suddenly touching his cheek and shoulder shaking him gently. Snapping back to reality Osiris could see everyone staring at him with concern. Zorn looked down at him as though he was expecting something when Osiris realized he was offering a hand to help him up. Helana was kneeling next to him, “Seems like you spaced out there for a second. You okay Osiris? Want Henex to cal you a physician?” Osiris stood on his own power waving away Zorn’s offer to help. “I’m fine, just got a lot on my mind. You fought well Zorn. It was a good spar. We will both need a good deal of rest after that. The demon stood there for a second considering if he should mention he was hungry again. Henex stepped forward extending his arms to touch both their shoulders. “Well, I bet after that much work you two are already hungry again! I hear the Saiyan’s hunger is legendary and I already know Osiris could eat even a man like me out of house and home. How about this? You two go get showered up, then we can feed you quick, and after that everyone can watch a movie in my theater. Sounds like a good relaxing way to wrap up the night. Ladies, why don’t you come with me to pick out an entertaining feature? Several servants grabbed the warriors’ things and lead them away to their rooms. The other set about the mansion getting things ready. Osiris and Zorn walked down the well lit and comfortable hallways before coming to their respective doors. The room for Osiris was his normal one he had spent several nights sleeping there. Zorn’s room was a good fifty feet down the hallway and on the other side. The servants opened the door and distributed the gear neatly where they were told to. The large bed room was connected to a small bath and study. Osiris had not been in the other rooms but he imagined they would be at least slightly different considering Henex’s sense of originality. Word Count: 532 Osiris Count: 8,174 Total Count: 13,143 |

For the time being the half demon forgot about everything that had been going on and stepped into the small shower he had access to. Nothing mattered as the steamy hot water washed over his bruised and scarred skin. It didn’t take long for the residue of sweat and blood to be cleansed away. What did take a few minutes was for his muscles to relax. Osiris was getting ready to get out of the shower when he heard a voice from the other side of the tinted glass. “Hey, what was up with you in the green house? I could tell you weren’t that hurt. You could have gotten up a lot faster than you did. What exactly is it you have on your mind?” Osiris was amazed he had not heard Kristy enter his room. His senses were sharper than a razor blade and yet this woman walked in as unnoticed as a shadow. “I have a feeling you are more than just a barmaid. You’re a thief aren’t you? Should have figured that bar was full of them. Don’t know why you would have been the exception. Anyway, what is on my mind does not concern you. The door to the shower stall suddenly flew open. Kristy stood there in a simple green dress looking furious, “What is this crap Osiris? You save my life the first time you meet me and give me a place to live. Then you turn your back on me like I never existed? Why did you even bother bringing me to the Saoirse if you don’t even care about me? Why do you block everyone out?” The half breed cranked off the water and turned around to see Kristy clenching her jaw and blinking watery eyes. “If you are going to yell at me could you at least hand me a towel?” his voice was distant as though nothing unusual was happening. “No! Fucking answer me Osiris!” “You want to know the truth? I don’t give many things thought and other things I give a great deal of thought to. Taking you in was just one of those things I didn’t really think about, most of the time I simply go off instinct. What is it you want from me? A knight in shining armor, that’s not me.” Kristy closed her eyes and bit her lower lip. Her anger seemed to have failed to keep her courage going. Anger rose in Osiris for this pointless intrusion, If you don’t mind I would like to get dressed. Osiris leaned forward like he was about to take a step hoping Kristy would get out of his way. Instead the young woman leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. Kristy came back just an inch or two her pure blue eyes locked onto his, “So what are your instincts telling you now?” The half demon’s pale skin started to blush and he went to step back now acutely aware of how inappropriate the situation was. Did she plan for this to happen? What the hell does she want from me? Damn, this is worse than when Helana kissed me while I was asleep. At least I had clothes on then! Kristy matched his step back into the shower stall reaching a hand out towards his face brushing his cheek. “Is there something wrong with me? I know you don’t have anyone else. So what’s stopping you?” Osiris saw the small gap between Kirsty and the doorway to the shower stall. It was just wide enough for him to get through. His muscles were still extremely tired from the spar but he had to get out before things got even more out of hand. Disappearing from sight he used his incredible speed to escape the shower reappearing near the door of the bath with a towel already wrapped around his waist. More adrenaline shot through his veins now then it had when he was sparring Zorn. Osiris stood there in the doorway breathing deeply trying to maintain his composure when two arms came over his shoulders. Kristy bit his neck gently. It was the last straw, one emotion or another had to come out. Damn it woman! Get the HELL out of my room! I don’t have time for stupid relationships!” Lips brushed against Osiris’ ear as Kristy whispered, “Stop lying to yourself Osiris. Eventually someone will get past that wall you have built up around you and find the real you. I’m telling you right now that it is going to be me. You saved me and now I’m going to return the favor by saving you from yourself. If you really have so little time to waste then just stop denying you want someone close to you. It will make this go a lot smoother,” the words almost sounded more like a threat than anything else. Kristy’s hand slid across his back as she walked away and out the door. Osiris watched as she strode past Zorn standing in front of his door as if he had come to see if Osiris was ready. A look of some curiosity came across the Saiyan’s face as he looked back through the doorway at Osiris in his room. Word Count: 872 Osiris Count: 9,046 total Count: 14,015 |

Osiris and Zorn followed the servants who carried their gear down the well lit hallway, past several doors on their way to their own rooms further down the hallway. Osiris stopped at a door with the servant carrying his gear and immediately walked in, surely the room he normally stays in because he walked right in. Zorn continued to follow the servant in front of him about fifty feet down the hallway before they stopped in front of a door. The servant openned the door, turned on the light, and neatly layed out Zorn's gear. The bedroom was neatly displayed with a large bed a darkly stained wooden desk with a nice business chair. There was also a small bathroom with a large wooden door connected to the bedroom. The servant left the room, closing the door behind him, leaving Zorn alone in his room. He removed the rest of his clothes and entered the bathroom. There was a glass encased shower and towels hanging on a rack on the wall. Zorn jumped in the shower, turning the water on until it was so hot it was steaming as it hit his bruised and battered body. The water felt good, running over his tired skin and muscles, refreshing him. Once he had finished washing his body with the elegant soaps that were in the shower, Zorn dried himself and then got dressed in the one set of extra clothes that he had brought with him. Zorn placed the small backpack that he had been carrying with him on the wooden desk. He pulled out his Saiyan Scouter and placed it on his ear and pushed the button on the side a few times until he reached the setting that he wanted. He quickly proceeded to place an audio entry about the days events into the daily log of the scouter. It included everything that had happened since arriving on Cauldron, especially the details of his spar with Osiris. It might provide some very useful intel at a later date. Once he was finally dressed, he went to see where the theatre was that Mr. Henex had mentioned. He didn't know where it was at, so he decided to head down to the door Osiris had entered into. Just as he arrived outside of Osiris' door, he heard two loud voices coming from inside. One was Osiris' and the other was a female's voice. They were not friendly, rather yelling back and forth at one another. Zorn decided not to bother and turned to walk away, but just as he turned away, the door swung open and out came Kristy, who barely glanced up at Zorn. Zorn stood there with a look of curiosity and amazement as he turned his head to look at Kristy as she walked down the hallway. He then turned his head back to the door and walked in cautiously. He saw Osiris standing there in a towel, with serious look of anger and frustration. "Everything alright Osiris" Zorn asked. Osiris shot his head towards Zorn and glared. It was a glare of a mind your own business and get the fuck out. So Zorn did just that. He turned to leave, stopping to grab the door handle and pull it closed. Before he did though, Zorn stopped to say one more thing. "Life is full of obstacles and distractions, but you gotta deal with them as they come and make the best of it. See you at the movie." Zorn pulled the door shut and proceeded back down the hallway to where the main foyer of the mansion was. There was the same servant that answered the door when Zorn and Osiris had first arrived at the mansion, just standing there like a human statue. "Where is the theatre located?" Zorn asked the servant. "Through the double doors at the top of the central stair case here. Would you like me to escort you their sir?" the servant replied. "That won't be necessary. I can find it if it is just at the top of these stairs." "Very well sir. When you reach the doors just enter. The others are already there, save Master Osiris." Zorn walked up the stairs and entered the double doors located at the top. Inside were the three women with Mr. Henex. they had a movie prepared and were sitting down. They turned to look at Zorn when he entered. "Ahhh Zorn. Welcome to my wonderful home theatre, the best on Cauldron. Please, have a seat and join us," Mr. Henex said to Zorn. Zorn nodded his head in acknowledgement and crossed the room to take a seat in a very comfy chair. Kristy's eyes shot Zorn a glare as Zorn looked about the room. Zorn thought to himself what she was up to and why she had been in Osiris' room. What the hell were they fighting about? This is something that I am going to have to monitor during my partnership with Osiris, for this woman clearly effects him some ways that may not be healthy. It may be a distraction and if we are going to be dealing with dangerous situations searching for artifacts of the Lost Ones, the last thing I want is Osiris' mind somewhere else. But it seems he has enough on his mind that I should just let him deal with this on its own until it proves to be an outwardly conflicting issue that effects our missions. Until then, I will let it be. Zorn squinted his eyes back at Kristy and then looked away. "Well, it looks like we are just waiting for Osiris now. Then we can start the movie." Zorn relaxed his body back into the comfy chair and rested his muscles, awaiting for Osiris' presence, if he still came after what had just went down back in his room. ------------------------------------------------------- WC=980 Zorn WC=6,006 Total WC=14,995 |
