A dark plume of ash and smoke rose out of a distant volcano. Osiris watched as the second setting sun slowly set behind the ashen pillar. Shades of pink, orange, and red filtered through the grey. It was like an artist had painted the very sky. As he watched the sun slowly sink and the smoke quickly rise the half demon sat at the top of the boulder that marked his surrogate mother's grave. A mixture of emotions stormed through his heart. He intended to leave the planet soon and didn't know how long he would be gone. The thought of leaving the Saoirsen made him uncomfortable, but the circumstances his people faced were much different now. Still, his mind was fuzzy and a washed in uncertainty. Hopping down from the grave stone Osiris walked away knowing he would return. He was still not ready to say goodbye. He wasn't sure he would ever be. His whole life had been spent on Cauldron and there was still so much he could think of to do. The half demon shook his head. His mind was being overwhelmed with its own thoughts. He need something to shake him out of his haze. Walking into camp he saw Zorn step out of his ship. This might be the last chance to spar with him in person for a long time. Osiris called out to him, "Zorn, let's spar." To warm his legs up the half demon took off sprinting for the top of the Mt. Iron. He jumped from one rocky ledge to another before he reached the jagged top. It had been a long time since Osiris climbed to the peak, but the rough stone and horribly slopped ground was still familiar to his body. He wanted to keep his memories of this place so that he always knew what he needed to return to. Forgetting his origins was not an option to the youth. The scars that marked his body and mind alike would never fade. That was the way it had to be. The Cloaked figure's eyes swept across the land around him as he waited for Zorn to join him. I need to remember. I was forged in the fires of Cauldron. This is my home for better or for worse. Word Count: 386 |

Zorn stepped out of his ship after making some more preparations for his departure from Cauldron. As he stepped out, Zorn watched a somewhat somber Osiris saunter back into the camp. Zorn knew that their time for training together was running out, for the two of them had made plans to split up and go their separate ways for the time being to accomplish their own goals. They would meet up later to travel together and explore the universe as allies. Before he realized, Osiris had challenged him to a spar and then turned, running up the steep slope of Mt. Iron. Zorn simply smiled, watching his friend take off up the mountain. Zorn took chase, scaling the steep mountain, attempting to follow a similar path that his ally had. At some points, the slope got so steep that he had to result to using all four of his limbs to keep moving forward. Finally, he reached the top of Mt. Iron and stood, slightly winded, watching Osiris as he peered out over the surrounding area. Zorn looked out over the barren land of Cauldron that he had resided on for the past months. Soon he would be on another new planet. ”It's hard to imagine that we are leaving this planet so soon after spending so much time on it. You especially Osiris. I can't even imagine what you are thinking right now. I feel like I have become a part of the Sairosens in the time that I have spent here on Cauldron. I am somewhat wary of leaving them alone, but I know that they will be in safe hands with the military and especially since the syndicates are gone,” Zorn said to Osiris. A long moment passed as the two continued to look out over the area. But time was wasting. It was time to spar. Zorn turned and assumed a fighting stance with his battle axe strapped to his back. ”Shall we?” Zorn said as he motioned Osiris to attack. ----------------------------------------- WC=335 TWC=335 |

"I am thinking i wish there was some way I could keep an eye on them while I am away. Also, as far as I am concerned you are very much apart of Saoirsen. Without you, well, things would have gone very differently. Still, what must be done, must be done. No use in debating it now. Lets get this started." Tearing his eyes away from the fiery landscape around his former home, Osiris locked onto Zorn. A deep breath, and then the sudden sound of rushing wind. In one smooth motion the half demon drew his blade and rushed down the step mountain side towards the saiyan. This was no feign though. He did not vanish before making an attack like he so often did. He had the advantage of the high ground, momentum, and first strike. There was no sense in wasting it with trickery. The pure white blade dropped down from over Osiris' head with crushing force. Pulling the sword back making a ninety degree angle with his elbow he unleashed a flurry of stabs. His blade shot forwards, back, and forwards again and again trying to pierce into his opponent's stomach or torso. There was no pattern to the attacks, each blow was placed at random. Osiris pressed his attack trying to force Zorn down the hill fast enough to make him stumble. When he finally came to a stop, the half demon was breathing heavily through his noose. Slowly he walked backwards up the mountain once more. Osiris wanted to either keep the high ground or be at the highest point he could if Zorn intended to fly. He was thankful there was not much loose gravel on the mountain, else it would be impossible fro him to fight on the steep incline. Word Count: 299 Total Count: 685 |

The words that Osiris spoke made Zorn very happy, even though he did not show it externally. He kept the happy emotions he felt deep inside, but appreciated it nonetheless. But now Osiris was ready to spar and so was the Saiyan. Osiris was at an advantage holding the high ground, but Zorn was prepared to defend himself. Osiris rushed forward, unsheathing his blade, ready to attack with it held above his head. The down slope of the mountain gave Osiris added speed, so Zorn had to act quickly. Zorn back pedaled down the smooth, rocky slope of the mountain as quickly as he could without losing his footing. When Osiris closed in on the Saiyan, Zorn jumped backwards into the air, back flipping and drawing out his battle axe as he avoided Osiris' blade attack. When Zorn landed, his fit hit but began to slide immediately. Zorn kept his balance but slide some ten to fifteen feet further down the mountain side. Zorn held his axe firm as Osiris came forward with multiple stabs, which with the difference in the two fighters' heights, Osiris' blade came forward at Zorn's head and upper torso. As the stabs came forward, Zorn moved his battle axe up vertically with the double edge blade in front of his face. Zorn deflected each stab with the blade of his axe, pushing it off to the side before the next stab came. After making his strong stabs at Zorn, Osiris retreated backwards up the mountain to maintain his high ground, leaving Zorn to attack going up hill and wielding a weapon. Zorn knew that he could fly over top of the demon fighter, but that took all of the fun and challenge out of the spar. Zorn sprinted up the steep slope as fast as he could, axe in hand. As he reached Osiris, he stopped and quickly swung the head of his axe at the ankles of Osiris with a short, compact swing. He then brought the double edge axe back on the same path. He did not intend to hurt his friend with the attack, but simply make the fighter move his feet in a hope that he might lose his footing and give up his high ground advantage. It was worth a shot while he was at a disadvantage. --------------------------------- WC=387 TWC=722 |

Osiris' eyes widened as Zorn sprinted up the incline at seemingly unhindered speed. The came swinging around towards the half demon's ankles. He hoped backwards as the blade traveled just under his feet. Again he hoped backwards as the duel edged sword came back across the same path. This time when his feet came down his heel slipped one the smooth rock. Falling to his ass the demon didn't want to slide straight into Zorn. Instead he threw Zar'rock at his opponents chest and rolled to the right. He barrel rolled down the side of the mountain out of control for almost a hundred feet before gaining his barrings. Pushing off with his hands Osiris launched himself into the air just enough to get his feet under him. Still sliding down the slope he finally came to a stoop when his left heel hit the flat side of the Zar'rock that had already speared into the ground. For a moment he just stood there. His sense of balance was thrown off by the tumbling, but it was quickly coming back to him. His dark violet eyes darted around the mountainside trying to figure out his next move. The terrain did not offer him much support though. A faint whisper rippled through the back of Osiris' mind. He shook his head to remove the odd feeling and then refocused himself on the task at hand. Ripping the white blade from the ground his feet pounded into the stone surface. Chunks of rock burst out of the mountain as his foot falls flattened the ground beneath them. Just before he reached the saiyan dropped to a knees taking his right hand off the hilt of his sword and burying it into the mountain. As his hand pierced into the rock face it erupted with Ki. Great slabs of rock broke apart and began sliding down the incline. Osiris launched himself back up onto his feet and bounced from one sliding boulder to another. He hoped to strike at Zorn when he was off balanced from the rock slide. Word Count: 346 Total Count: 1,031 |

Osiris dodged Zorn's axe attacks, just as Zorn thought he would, but he accomplished what he was aiming for. On the second hop from Osiris to dodge the attack, he lost his footing and began to slide down the mountain side. He threw his sword in Zorn's general direction but Zorn easily dodged it, but while he dodged it, Zorn rolled to his side and began rolling down the side of the mountain. He then sprung into the air, landed, gained his bearings, and began sprinting up the side of the mountain again. As he came up, he used his patented Blast Punch to shake and break the mountain side which splintered and cracked all the way up under Zorn's feet. The smooth rock face began to slide under his feet, carrying him with it. Zorn kept his balance, riding the rock down the mountain side. But as he was sliding down, he looked up to find Osiris coming at him quickly, bouncing from rock piece to rock piece. Zorn knew that Osiris was more proficient at rock hoping that the Saiyan was and decided that it was in his best interest to take to the sky, where he held the advantage. Zorn took to the air and levitated, floating above the mountain side. Zorn decided to challenge Osiris move, raising his hands and firing a series of Mesposo Beams into the mountain side higher up the mountain from where Osiris was rock hopping on sliding rocks. The Mesposos created more falling rocks that rolled and slid down the mountain at a faster pace than the ones Osiris dislodged. Zorn then landed on the peak of the mountain and had one last idea. Zorn lifted his axe over his head and then gave it a good hard chuck down the mountain side, twirling through the air at Osiris. Osiris managed to navigate his way through the sliding rocks and deflected Zorn's battle axe with his sword. When the rock slide stopped, Osiris stood still just below Zorn, winded from his movements. Zorn was quite impressed with the young demons display of balance, speed, and agility. ”I am impressed Osiris. If I ever need help scaling a tall, steep mountain, I know who to call. Haha! Zorn laughed loudly, signaling the end of the spar. Zorn walked down the mountain side to meet Osiris and then the two carried on down the mountain until they reached camp once again. Just before they entered camp, Zorn pulled his battle axe out of the ground where it had stuck when he threw it at Osiris and remounted it on his back. It had been a short, but quite intriguing battle in which Osiris displayed his skills well and so had the Saiyan. ------------------------------------ WC=459 TWC=1,181 |
