Tapion meditated upon his bed, focusing his mind even as the rage within threatened to break loose. He needed to control it and funnel its energies to useful means, and that meant confronting his own desire to outright slaughter the changeling Chill. A frown spread over his face as the very thought of Chill spiked his wrath. Forming the image of the tyrant in his mind, the ashen warrior concentrated upon it and allowed the red seas to boil forward. Then, with an iron-clad will, he grasped those emotions and quelled them back into a mere shadow of its former glory. With his task complete, he let out a massive sigh and opened his eyes to the darkened room around. That was my feelings against a mere image of the changeling. How will I react in his presence? Will I be able to control myself and fight at my best? Tapion questioned, his own resolve weakened by the thought of lowering to Chill's level of monstrosity, even if it was to kill a monster. Sighing again, he mentally waved the questions away and grasped the scarlet gem that was always nearby. He needed a moment of time away from the realities of life, and the Gem of Telepathy was perfect for that. Such thoughts in mind, he drew down and out to reach the Astral Plane. Immediately, Tapion found himself standing outside a large tree that held a treehouse. All around, similar trees stood with similar homes. The ashen warior smiled just a little bit, for he had once lived in a similar place during his travels in North Galaxy. The youthful people there had allowed him to stay while he protected them from threats. It had been the most peaceful year of his life after the fall of South Galaxy. Too bad he had been forced to leave and resume his slumber. Shrugging away the nostalgia, the ashen warrior slumped against one of the trees and set to waiting for his opponent to arrive. The green light of the forest cast him in a light shadow, obscuring his features but accentuating the green eyes that gazed out. ---------------------------- Word Count: 361 Word of Tapion: 361 |

Anais was in a peculiar state. It would be incorrect to determine her status as unconscious, namely because she was inorganic. Perhaps ‘frozen’ would be suffice, as was a common term used in reference to technology that was unresponsive. Death most certainly wasn’t the proper definition because her processing units were still functioning adequately. At the behest of some unknown entity, be they individual, governmental or otherwise, Anais and her crew were brought down to the planet of Valhalla amidst bellowing pillars of smoke, ash and overall destruction. The safety of her comrades? That wasn’t her priority, in all honesty. In fact, her core units were set on repairing the operational systems to continue serving her righteous and noble cause. It is better to die for the Emperor than live, or perish for yourself… This proclamation came from within the android herself, though not under her own power. It was indeed her voice and yet her lips did not move. Again the statement rang through the stricken cockpit of the leviathan ship. Around her, much of the crew lay, bloodied, unconscious and probably dead. She didn’t know this. Nor did she care. She was… ‘frozen’. Having announced her lamentations of failure to serve her Emperor, a brief, crimson flash illuminated an otherwise darkened room. Save for the brief crackle of blue static that arced from torn wiring, Anais’ telepathic gem flashed once more. It was nestled against her synthetic bosom, hung loosely by silver chain, strung by hand at the request of King Vegeta himself; a gift for one of his most loyal warriors. The gem began to shake, albeit only slightly. Tapping against the soft chest of its cyborg host, the ruby stone began to levitate under it’s own will, tugging gently at Anais’ neck. A brief, third flash followed and the android awoke. She was not, however, in the ship. A dense forest surrounded the bewildered android, yet was calm - her usual neutral self. Ahead, through the parting of trees was a clearing. Rough dirt and scattered shrubs created the scene, the floor of a village of sorts. Primitive houses constructed from wood, hugging tightly to their tall hosts. “How odd… why would he bring me here?” It was then that her visual sensors locked onto a silhouette, cast against the blazing sun that ripped through the canopy above. ----------- WC: 392 |

Tapion felt the tremor in the mental fields of the Astral Plane. Looking up, he saw a white-haired woman in armor standing nearby. She looked calm, but something about her gave off that vibe of bewilderment. Stretching out his senses, he felt not even a glimmer of life energy in the strange woman and immediately knew her for an android. He had encountered quite a few beings who were androids and most had possessed a large amount of battle strength and endurance. The ashen warrior pulled himself to his feet and walked through the green-hued forest light up to the woman. She was pretty, in that perfect doll fashion that accompanied androids of superior make, but there was a certain frosty air about her. The armor was etched with various markings, though a few were familar to Tapion. In fact, one in particular made him frown. "You serve him? Hmph, even after death the Emperor has influence," he stated, his arms crossed over his chest as he continued to examine the android. He had not expected a servant of the Emperor to appear after so long a time. It just was not a normal event. But, so was life, full of the unexpected. "So, what is your name? Do you still swear fealty to His Imperial Majesty?" Tapion asked, his questions deliberately vague and respectful. It would not do to anger such a creation, as no doubt she had been made by the Emperor's finest scientists, and that meant she would be powerful indeed. ---------------------------- Word Count: 256 Word of Tapion: 617 |

The being approached, to which Anais immediately pulled up her arms in defence. This humanoid creature seemed far too confident. His attire was unlike anything she’d seen in modern accounts. If anything he resembled a warrior of times gone by. An ancient, perhaps? His eyes too were washing over the android, trying to filter through any information that would lead him to understand her better. Apparently, he did. Eyes glossed in some sort of realisation, the man spoke of Him, to which she was truly shocked, “You dare speak of His name?!” it was impulsive to interject, specifically when he had used such a tone. Did he expect the influence of her Lord to be extinguished? The greatest surprise, if not some sort of relief, was that this being knew of the Emperor. Anais was finding it difficult to inhabit a universe where His grace was not in the lives of all she came into contact with. “Without question, I serve. I shall bare unto him my efforts for eternity if it is willed” she declared amidst common neutrality. Any casual onlooker would mistake their exchanged words as a civil, perhaps slightly formal conversation. “And my name,” she added, “is Anais.” The trees rustled above with her name ushered as though she were some dark force at work. “Tell me, warrior, why would He bring us together? Do you have some reason to speak with me?” Eyes rotating in similar fashion to a camera lens, focusing on various aspects of this admittedly attractive specimen, “or perhaps I have been sent to vanquish you as well?” Truth be told, Anais felt some measure of guilt, should the last statement be true. Already she was mildly fond of this gentleman. ---------- WC: 288 Total@ 680 |

Tapion was utterly taken back by the vehemence underlying the android woman's civil tone. She seemed relieved, surprised and suspicious after his revelation of a connection to the Emperor of the past. Did she really think no one remembered him? The man had been a diety to trillions, and even if his influence had waned over time, there would always be those who looked to the past for answers and found him as an example of the conquering warlord. It did not hurt that Tapion had quite liked the man, he was very courteous in person. "I have met the Emperor before, though I was a simple wandering warrior at the time. I conversed with him upon his actions throughout this galaxy, and found that he had not intended so much destruction to happen. To be honest, I found the man to be worthy of his title. Although, I must admit I feel guilt and sorrow that he disappeared soon after," Tapion stated, his eyes seeming to unfocus as he looked past Anais and into the long corridors of history. After a moment, he shook away the memories and looked at the woman with a smile. "Anais, I know not why we would meet, save that both of us holds a deep connection to the Emperor. So, on that note, do you mind if I see what kind of legacy he left inside of you? A simple spar shall suffice for now, though I do believe we will meet each other outside of these halls," he said, his body dropping gracefully into the Catpaw Stance. He favored the stance for its versatility in movement and how it worked with his open palm style of combat. No need for the crude manner that fists employed when the gentle style was just as effective. ---------------------------- Word Count: 302 Word of Tapion: 919 |

Anais' own processors began to disbelieve their own calculations - surely if what this man said was true then he must be far older than any living being to date. "Impossible!" she denied, frantically running through her system checks. He could be lying of course, but then why would he. More so, what was it, exactly, that made him mention Him. Was it the seal that scarred her cheek, the very same that High Priest Teyrvis remarked upon back on Avagarthis? What stunned the android furthers still was Tapion's attitude toward the man. This alien before her did not loathe him, like many others probably would have, as she did they, but he had a level of respect for him. He then professed his knowledge of his actions ... and guilt. A sudden stab of depression set in to Anais' system. What is this... feeling? Her chest felt as though it would explode. A deep well within her gut felt as though it should force its way out; her mouth ready to vomit the entrails within her very self. It was sadness and the need to cry. Unexplainable? Of course. Out of character? Definitely. Impossible... not quite. A single tear was shed, trailing the soft contours of her edged cheeks, passing the rose red blusher that never seemed to fade. Finally hanging at the crest of her jaw, it fell in silent sorrow. Images began to flood through her mind, her receptors blind with more of these ridiculous feelings of guilt and mourning. "What... are you doing... to me...?" the woman struggled to talk, fighting away and striking out at invisible demons that plagued her with unwanted emotion. Suddenly, as though someone had taken a universal control and pointed it at the woman, her head jolted back into place, her body caught into a fighting stance "Clearly we were destined to meet under his guidance and it humbles me that you knew him too - before we engage in battle, might you reveal your name to me, warrior?" -------------- WC: 338 Total: 1,018 |

Tapion's eyes widened in surprise at the android's reaction. He had truly not expected such a powerful display of grief, even if she was a devoted servant of the Emperor. The only question, though, was why her grief was as much a surprise to her as it was to him. "Anais, I have done nothing. His disappearence gives you grief on an immense level, and that emotion is capable of freezing even the mightiest of warriors. Grief, rage, depression...all are able to make any of us stop when taken to the extreme," Tapion said softly, his voice just able to reach the woman's ears. Soon, though, he smiled at the sight of Anais assuming a combat stance. It was said that one could learn much about another from battle. Let us see what I learn about you, Anais, Tapion thought, his body relaxing in preperation for the coming clash. Suddenly, though, he tensed and launched forward, his face moving to just millimeters from Anais' ear. "Tapion," he whispered, answering the woman's question before whipping around and sending a roundhouse for her back. The attack was soon followed by the ashen warrior touching down and leaping again at Anais, this time a glowing fist of power firing towards her stomach. He was starting off light to test out the android woman's limits, just in case. It never did to reveal one's entire hand at the get go. ---------------------------- Word Count: 239 Word of Tapion: 1,158 |

With little warning, this warrior was already besides Anais. How could anyone move at such speeds, a biological entity in particular? It seemed all too unnatural - his knowledge and confidence on the topic of the Emperor was one thing, but now this… Before she was capable of calculating appropriate evasion measures, a swift kick stunned the android in the back of her neck, her body falling forward. In liquid motion, Anais shot out her hands pushing upward and landing on her feet in flowing aerobatics. This, however, was met with a follow up attack for which the female was ready for. Her body lunged right, yet her left knee burst upward, knocking away Tapion’s flamed strike, her own hands moving forward, attempting to strike into his gut. “Impressive… very impressive,” she remarked, scanning briefly for any damage readings, “perhaps all of what you say is true - better yet, how do I know this is all reality? My systems could well be under malfunctions.” She paused, checking her diagnostics, trying to remember just how she got here and yet there was no data imprint to speak of such things. Regardless, Anais was in the midst of a light battle and it was her objective to succeed. Lunging forward, back into the skirmish, the android motioned for a right hook, only to allow her right knee to pop upward, a swift hammer blow soon to follow. ------ WC: 236 Total: 1,254 |

Tapion was quite impressed when the attractive android deflected his Serafin Punch was deflected. He would have to work on that technique, maybe improve it to a new level. But that was for another time, for the time being, he would have to continue his spar against Anais. Yet, during his musing, she had launched her own attack, successfully landing her knee in his chest and a hammerblow that smashed him into the ground. With a soft grunt, he pushed his way up and rubbed the spot on his skull that she had struck. "Nice shot. You are all that I had expected and then some. In fact, you are one of the strongest androids I have ever encountered. And no, this is not a malfunction in your processors. Not with the power I possess," Tapion stated, a half-smile on his face, and with that bare warning, a lunar silver aura licked into life around him. It burned with radiant energy, and his power ascended to its full limits. Yet, strangely enough, the rise in power had little effect on the land around. He truly did not like crudely increasing his battle power and causing unnecessary earth-shaking. It was so...unbecoming. Although, that could be his vanity talking. "After those blows, I felt like you deserve the best I can deliver in my natural state. Now, let us continue," he said, his half-smile still in place. As quickly as before, the ashen warrior shot forward. His silver aura flared a small bit and increased his speed just that small bit more. With a flick of the wrist, he sent a beam of power before him. That beam covered the approach of Tapion before he slid to Anais' side and launched a palm strike for her cheek that was comboed with a leg sweep. Anais wasn't quite sure if she was meant to feel some sort of honour for her deservation, or a sense of fear. Regardless, she felt neither. If anything, she was impressed with her own efforts on this seemingly powerful foe. Indeed, at appeared that he was perhaps the strongest warrior she had encountered so far. Again, Tapion lunged toward the android, a precursor of energy masking his approach. The Android could not calculate any defensive manoeuvres in time and thus the attack struck its target. The beam of energy itself did little damage, knocking Anais’ body back an inch or so. Of course, the true objective of the Mesposo was to serve as a distraction. It worked. Anais had little time to react as the ivory skinned warrior dashed to her side, knocking her upper body aside by a sizeable amount, little ripples coursing through her face from the impact of the strike. Before her feet could lift off the ground, Tapion’s own came rushing past, striking hard, the android falling backward at speed. Fortunately her reactions were a little more on target and she managed to defend the strike, stopping her fall and continuing to levitate a few centimetres from the ground they fought upon. Hoping to quickly regain a footing in this battle, the android bounced back into her fighting stance, hoping to strike Tapion along the way with a swift kick to the jaw. “My main source of confusion is,” she interjected, mid-attack, a swift punch aimed for the alien’s nose, “according to my databanks and memory core,” again, another punch, “our meeting has not, and does not exist…” ------------ WC: 272 Total: 1,526 |

Tapion's smiled seemed to grow brighter as Anais was able to block the full potential of his blow and regain her balance, and even clip his jaw! The woman was truly impressive, though he calculated that her power did not exceed one hundred and thirty thousand. Still, that number was impressive, considering that most of the fighters in the galaxy were below one hundred thousand. Yet, even with that power, she seemed stiff in battle, unexperienced even. The ashen warrior was shaken back into focus as Anais shot forward. She voiced a question to him, causing him to cock his head in curiosity even as his hands leapt forward and grabbed each of the android's fists. Straining against her strength, he looked her in the eyes before attempting to spin her around. He quickly attempted to grasp her around the stomach and around her arms in an attempt to suplex her into the unforgiving earth. Leaping away, he stood in a neutral position and stared at her with that same curious expression. "Why should it not be real? Where we now reside in the Astral Plane, a world made by our minds. We leave our physical selves to travel here and converse with the other fighters of this galaxy. Anais, do not doubt the reality of this realm. I am a person, alive right now," Tapion said, his expression slowly changing from inqusitiveness to mere happy knowledge. "If you want some proof of this fact, I, at this very moment, reside on the planet Earth inside a military ship. It is called the Selenis. If that is not sufficient information, you can search my name under the GNN's archives. I have done a lot in this awakening, and I do not doubt that the GNN has taken a note to writing my...supposed history down. Just take anything before three and a half years ago with a large grain of salt," Tapion stated, his smile turning to a grin at the last comment. He had read the theories of his origins, and, to be honest, they were intensely amusing. One of the funnier listed that he was an angel of Heaven that had been cast down to undo the sins of man. "But, that is obviously for a time outside of this realm. Shall we finish?" Tapion asked, his grin turning into a simple smile, a serious glint in his eyes. Without warning, the ashen warrior blinked and sent forward an invisible wave of ki. He followed the attack by using an afterimage to appear behind her and send a second wave of ki at her back. Taking in all the information she could, Anais made it her secondary mission to track down this warrior and learn more from him. The android longed for another being to even acknowledge her Emperor's past existence, let alone actually have met the glorious man. It was then that apparently Tapion kicked into a higher level of combat, a powerful, near invisible blast of energy knocking the woman back a good few meters in distance. Like a small, unfortunate ball caught in a gruelling game of tenis, Anais was knocked back in the other direction, caught in mid-flight. She felt her body succumb to the strength and size of the attack, a number of her systems performing emergency shut down. The woman shuddered, pulling herself onto her quivering feet. "Your power..." she managed, "it is something I have never experienced before." The ivory headed soldier spluttered, struggling as various emotive chemicals pumped around her system, desperate to compensate the loss of pressure and system functionality. "I look forward to our meeting in the real world... until then..." she collapsed forward, a metallic grate cutting her voice back into a simple whisper. "May the Emperor protect..." +++ WC: 194 Total: 1,720 |
